miui v5 by gtbluesky
i tried this rom on lg g2 4.4.2 kitkat stock rooted with twrp recovery and it isn't stable (camera doesn't work, sim card isn't readable)
the solution was to flash philz touch recovery (CWM) for the aroma installer to work properly. But i couldn't install cwm on 4.4.2.
I now enjoy miui on my lg g2 fully working (except some bugs) by doing the following:
downgrading my phones rom to 4.2.2 (before downgrading you should wipe davlik cache and cache and data, and if possible internal storage)
then rooting it with ioroot.
To install the recovery:
-Enable USB Debuging Mode
-USB connection Mode Media sync (MTP)
-Root is required
then download this batch file with the recovery to install
After that proceed to flash the miui zip file and enjoy miui, if you have any questions post in the thread and i will try to help you
4.2.2 stock download link :Here the link which isn't labeled kitkat is jellybean 4.2.2 make sure you select your correct version of device 16gb,32gb

if you are stuck in bootloop hold the power button to turn off the device. Then hold power button and volume down until you get the lg logo, after that quickly release both button then hold them again to enter the recovery menu and reset your phone

After flashing the latest ClockWorkmod Recovery, the phone rebooted and all that keeps popping up is that the processes have stopped working. How do i fix this?
Factory reset. When you say you 'flashed the latest Clockwork mode recovery', what exactly did you flash & why ? (bearing in mind any recovery flashed independently of the kernel won't persist beyond the next reboot).
After rooting on ICS 4.0.3 I flashed the Cyanogen Mod using this method first:
Using the noob-proof ODIN method:
- Download CM9 Resurrection Edition
- Download GApps and put it onto your internal sdcard
- Open Odin
- Choose cm-9-XXXXXXXX-ODIN-galaxys2.tar.md5 as PDA
- Boot your phone into download mode
- Connect your device via usb to your computer
- Wait till Odin has fully recognized your phone
- Hit the start button and wait till the flash process is finished
- Device boots automatically into recovery
- Flash GApps
- Reboot into CM9
- Follow above steps to update CM9 to lastest available version (Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 9)
After that i wanted to flash this:
Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 9:
- Copy CM9 ZIP to your internal SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash CM9 zip
- Reboot
But i couldnt boot up CWM..so i flashed CWM 5.5.0.4 using ODIN..after booting up, popups just kept appearing showing the processess which stopped..i couldnt access the settings and menu..just stuck on the lockscreen closing the popups

This worked for me.
Took out battery for about 5 minutes, insert batt, Hold vol up + power to get into download mode. Use a $5 jig from ebay/amazon if you want to force download mode. This phone is almost impossible to brick. Only physical damage can brick.Since this is an old phone the issue for recovering from a soft brick is really non availability of required files.
When you have a soft brick like this ..ie., stuck in 3e recovery. Even if you odin back to stock you cannot get into recovery (stock or cwm). You are permanently hardware locked out of recovery. Once stock odin'd to eclair or froyo phone will boot up into that rom fine but you cannot get into recovery and you cannot root. At this stage odin Darky resurrection which is available in tar/pit format. It is a rooted kernel/rom combo. Since iam a new user forum did not allow me to paste any external links here. Google for "Install Darky ROM 10.2 Resurrection" and pick first link.
Now you have rooted kernel and nice rom but still no recovery. From market download some apk installer that works with darky. I just searched for apk installer and picked the first one. Just downloading rom manager may not work since rom manager does not support older versions like eclair/froyo anymore.... Google for "com.koushikdutta.rommanager.apk" and download this apk from some cyber graveyard..Install this apk, open installed rom manager and select reboot into recovery. Now finally i had working recovery and could flash any zip , wipe format etc.. Good luck.
tip: odin must be setup (select files, uncheck boxes..) before getting phone into download mode. Otherwise odin will get stuck. Just re-start all over if this happens.

After getting help restoring the device, I'm now looking to see if/how I can flash 4.4 kitkat on my samsung mega 6.3 i527m. I've tried to install CM11 on it but i just get confused with the download links because they're so many different folders but they're all the same sort of file (CM11 4.4). Can someone show me a real simple tutorial on how to get TWRP on my phone and then flash CM11 on it or if I can't does anyone know when 4.4 will be shipping out to my phone model? Please and thank you! :cyclops:
Here's some quick instructions:
1) Root your device with Kingo Android Root. Make sure your phone is on debugging mode (about phone, tap the build name several times, it will activate developer menu)
2) Install Philz Recovery through Odin in download mode (Vol down+ Home button+ Power): [It seems to be less error with Philz Recovery on Knox affected Mega in my case, so I suggest you to use this one instead.]
3)Download the latest CM11 version. Go in ROM folder, then CM11, and choose the latest version.
4)Download GAPPS
5) Put the last two files on your internal SDcard.
6) Reboot to recovery (Vol up + Home button + Power).
7) Wipe data/cache.
8) Install CM11.
9) Install GAPPS.
That's it, enjoy!

Hi, i have a MSI Primo 81 and i want to enter stock recovery, i tried every combination i could but it will just boot the device normally (not all of them, ie: volume down + power). Now there is an option in backup & restore where i can boot into recovery. Also i recently upgraded the firmware, 4.4.2 kitkat. I also did download a manual hoping there is information about entering recovery, no luck
I gathered the following information while i was in recovery:
Android Stock Recovery 3e
exdroid 4.4 kernel
Any idea what combination i could do or something? But i may as well just install CWM or TWRP on it.

I know this is old, but I just got one of these refurbed for cheap-
Just install ROM Manager (by CWM IIRC) from the Play Store. It has an option in it to reboot to recovery and it works fine; I just tested it on the 4.4 firmware.

What about if my device is soft-bricked
