I just got my G3 today after retiring my LG Optimus G(was run over by a car last friday - not me, just the phone ;-P). Still currently customizing it and setting it up but was planning on starting work on some bootanimations for sprint this weekend. No concrete ETA but they are coming.

It took some messing around(the G3 is similar and yet very different from the optimus g) but I did get one boot animation working for my phone with sound. I will post it later today/tomorrow. It's my personal one so it may not have a wide fan base but I will post it anyway and then begin doing some more for the masses.

This is my personal bootanimation for the Sprint LG G3 and I thought I would share it with any other Doctor Who fans out there. The original video is not my work, I simply did the leg work to turn it into a bootanimation. Doctor Who and the Tardis are registered trademarks of the BBC.
THIS IS NOT A FLASHABLE ZIP!(Obviously, since our bootloader is still locked). You have to manually put it into your system/media folder and change permissions(-rw-r--r-- aka 644). Also, you will want to delete your old boot animation(make a backup!). The G3 has two bootanimations on our phone so you will want to replace both bootanimation.zip and bootanimation_sprint.zip(Just rename this file and have two copies in system/media). Then manually put both PowerOn.ogg and PowerOn_Sprint.ogg into system/media/audio/ui for working sound! You ALSO need to either replace the files in carrier/cust/poweron or just delete that folder altogether(That's what I did).
Again, make sure you have backups of your original files saved to your computer. For me if something didnt work I would get a black screen but it would still boot. Other phones can soft brick but it looks like the G3 isn't one of em - still, better safe than sorry! I never ask for donations but if you like/use it, you could always hit that thank button!

Nice not a big Dr Who fan any chance you could make a walking dead boot animation with the title then transitioning into all the characters* one by one and then at the end the sound says we're all infected with Ricks voice? Sorry kind off asking a lot but I don't know how to make them yet.

I'll see what I can do, been working with After Effects a bit. As always no ETA but I do want to start pushing out a lot of these bootanimations for our device. Let's get the ball rolling! Walking Dead is added to the list.

When you say transitioning into all of the carriers, do you mean doing one bootani for each carrier? Sprint, Verizon, Tmo, etc? Once I get the base one down it would be easy to adjust per carrier.

The Dr Who animation was a video I found but it has set the bar pretty high for anything that comes after. If you come up with any ideas @engine95, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
The new mad max trailer on YouTube is 1440p. That could be a pretty decent one with the right editing.

Ok I should finally have some time today to work on this. A few questions because I'm not a fan of the show. Are there different title sequences for different seasons? Same with characters? I'm guessing some of them had to die, lol. If the answer to these are yes, then let me know what season's opening you want and a list of the characters to include. Excuse my ignorance but I was born and raised in Pittsburgh so I'm sick of zombies - that's what can happen when you live in the same town as George Romero.

Ok as of right now I have 3 different ones I'm working on. So far I do have JUST the opening credits as a bootanimation if you want that until the other ones get done. The other ones are obviously gonna be more work and I got caught up with a few other projects today.

Are you saying that this app converts my Slide's hardware to be compatible with IOS4? I have been getting some recovery errors when flashing the update from recovery and I seem to be unable to install cydia and ipa files.

Hey guys!
This is my first public boot animation. I'm an experienced video maker and I thought that I might take a shot at creating some of these.
I love the game Battlefield 3 and it has a sick intro. I took that intro and using After Effects created new text with "Android" in a custom battlefield font (Lots of layers and effects to get just right) and distorted the camera to give it that TV-channel mashup transition. Then I reanimated the smoke on the soldier's shoulder and added a minor fog cloud behind him, and added the looping "loading" animation in the bottom right corner that you see in the game between maps.

Note: I'll be updating this with feedback and perhaps adding different versions with different text instead of just "android". If you have something you want, please let me know!
It's also a bit slower and lower quality than the video (to be expected, it is a bootanimation after all). I'm looking for ways to speed this up, if you have suggestions that's appreciated!

You should offer a variation of the Battlefield 3 animation that's shorter.
This is just a thought, but is boot animation framerate somewhat hardcoded into the ROM? (or ICS itself) because it's difficult to get passed certain framerate values.
I found a nicer version of the text (in HD too!) that I'm masking and working on now. Shouldn't take long (not as complex as the BF3 one)
How short? From the "Android" text appearance? That may make it faster actually...
I'm not sure, because if you notice it actually speeds up to normal speed once it loops through the loop section around one or two times. It may be a matter of the device actually loading everything in the background.

Wow man I had no idea sound didn't work in boot anims. Either way, anything with the Transformer logo would be sick. I believe a lot of people with Primes are gonna like this
The one I have now is the one of Androids on bikes, and it looks crappy. I actually prefer the stock one over it. I can't wait for a Transformer one.

That would be awesome! Really bummed about no Transformers sound effects though.
Either way...I can't wait.
There is a way to do it I know, I just haven't tried it. I'll tinker around with it once I'm done with the actual bootanim!
I had in mind that making it shorter will increase the speed. Perhaps the length of the Animation has something to do with the max frame rate... this is stuff that we can only reveal through trial and error.
I will look into these boot animation stuff along side. If I find anything useful, I'll let you know

This is a work in progress, 99% of the credit goes to krelvinaz for his web based splash screen maker. I am a hardcore fanatic for hardcore metal bands. This is going to be a collection of ones that I've made that are of hard core metal bands! Just rename file PH98IMG flash in bootloader! I would like to add that I know The X-Files has nothing to do with heavy metal but it is my second love next to heavy metal so I made a X-Files splash screen.

I know this is the internet and we are mostly anonymous here but our actions do have an effect on each other regardless of whether we admit it or not. Call me a softy if you must but I am human and act in haste at times.
That said I am not trying to make excuses here, rather I am apologizing for my actions the other night. Really great idea, it would be nice to see a pokedex theme.
should be pretty easy to make too,perhaps using the slideshow feature to move the pokemon through the pokedex.Well in fifities here and me and the son had some great pokemon battles,still into Mr Potter and Co and definately lord of the rings series.

Those are crazy awesome! We'll speak to the guys in charge. We are very aware now of copyright infringement, so we're trying to find ways of including themes like this - without breaking any laws...

thanks,yeah I know copyrights are a pain
Actually found a way to display the dex rotating which was pretty bloody easy really,well at least on my galaxy S4.Simply use the built in frames widget if your firmware supports it and it will rotate them,the drawback is that you can only display each pic for seven seconds before it rotates to the next,anyway just a though in case anyone fancies trying it

We're trying to get a Pokemon theme, maybe more than one (especially after Twitch Plays Pokemon), so we'll keep you informed!
