Any smooth and fast ROM? - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hi. Sorry for my bad English.
Can someone tell me his experience with Roms? (Please) I'm lookin for a good, fast, stable and smooth ROM. I don't care the version. It can be GB, ICS, JB or KK. I want it faster and stable. I have tried carbon, slim, smooth, miui.... And others.... And all of them turns lag after a week of use. I'm on MIUI right now and its eye candy but very lag.
Will be useful to make a pool or a category list of fast roms to lag but eyecandy. We love Roms with a lot of new stuff and features but we really need a stable and daily driver rom and the stock ROM is lag too.
Thank you!

+1 - Agree with Welder!
For JB, my go to....try the Aviator series: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/t...or-aokp-v104-061613-200-test-available-071013 There are actually 3 ROMS AOKP, Cyanogen and Gummy. I like the AOKP as Gapps is built in. I have this as a backup on my DD.

If al of your ROMS start getting 'laggy' after about a week of use, maybe you should look into Greenify, or not downloading some apps. You might have a lot of processes running in the background that might be making it 'laggy' because our phones only have 1gig of memory (which actually isn't a bad thing, but still).
Of all KK ROMS that I've been using in the past 3-4 months, I haven't had any issues with lagging. Maybe some FCing, but from my own mistake of trying to tinker with them too much (kernel settings). I would look into cleaning up your PHONE first, THEN look into finding your 'perfect' ROM because everybody is going to have their own opinion on what ROM is best. I, too, have used Carbon (now), Slim, LS, Cyan, Axxiom, and a few others, and they all work great (IMHO). Do your reading. Look at what people are saying. Support your favorite dev.

I'm using ParanoidAndroid for 2-3 months. I didn't do clean install only in the begginning. Installed stable OTAs, and some beta OTAs too. I didn't notice any lag or problem.
There were some problems with some versions, but if you wait 3-4 days after every release and check the forums for any complains, you skip the problematic version and you will be fine.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I'm using axiom and like it, it's fast and smooth. I'll try greenify too. Really liked miui but it's so lag. I don't want to tweak kernel, I'm afraid with that going to try this ROM for a while and I'll let you know what happens. Thank you.

I don't think that's a bad choice...AXXION, version 1.6.0 will be out today-ish. I would wait to see how that works. The Devs added a ton of stuff and there was a total Re-Do. Might be a Bug or Two crashing around I am totally enjoying Gummy! Lots of good stuff for us lucky users!

Paranoid android is Extremely smooth and snappy.

Lol guys thanks for recommending us!!!!!!! THANKSS!!! @MauriceFdo I am de Axxion founder along @ThatKawaiiGuy. We are glad to hear that!

Axxion is built with Linaro 4.9, so it's smooth and fast.
It also looks very nice with Crimson Mode

Axxion works great. I've updated to 1.60 and feels good. I have a question.... Why Google play store looks different on MIUI ROM? I like it. Anyway thanks @siracuervo and @ThatKawaiiGuy for your great work!

[Q] ics vs miui?

ok this might be a stupid question but i can't decide which rom to choose. i need a rom that is fast and smooth also fun to use. can anyone suggest the best rom. I can't use miui nb 1.12.2 because its giving problems and 1.11.18 is kinda slow.
ICS - Awesome, it gives your phone a new feel, a new look. It's different from older things. (Gingerbread, Froyo, etc.) But, it's not the fastest, it is fast, but not the fastest.
ICS is definitely fun to use.
MIUI - I don't know.. I like it, but it looks too.. professional? In a way? Like.. I feel you can customize it less. I like the features, but I dun know, reminds me of when I had my 3GS, ahah. It's fast, not as fast as CM7 or a Bionix 2.2 ROM, but it's pretty fast.
I think ICS is a little slower than MIUI, but that little bit of lag is worth all the cool little features ICS has.
Edit; But if you do want to stay on MIUI, I suggest this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364390
It was running great when I was using it.
ICS = no gps
That is the killer for me. After the "Hardware fix" my gps usually locks within 15-20sec. I use it every day. Another reason I stay clear of GB ROMS (non CM7/Miui) is because you need a very old kernel to use gps.
Thanks friends. im going to try ics and see how it works. but wich ics rom do you recommend?

I am running this one on my Vibrant. It is smooth and fast. Very crisp, and not many problems for a Beta version.

Which ROM would you recommend

As the title says, I am looking for a battery friendly rom and I don't know which of the roms are recommended and which arent.
It's for my dad's tf201, so if there are two good roms and one of them looks closer to asus' stock rom, I'd pick that one, just to make sure, he won't panic and to prevent issues with the belgian keyboard (AZERTY)
Thanks a million!
Androwook and Energy ROM are both stock base and fast, smooth, and stable.

Thanks! That certainly narrows it down! As opposed to my tablet, I can't keep on flashing ROMs on my dad's, that's why I asked for a stable and battery friendly rom, so I wouldn't have to update it all the time
If there are any other opinions, please do share them
By the way, are there any people with non-QWERTY keyboards that work fine with a non-stock based rom? Because I found that CM10 on my tf700 wasn't really optimised for non-qwerty keyboards yet
Thanks again.
(PS: I know roms are subjective, that's why I am not asking for the best rom (because that simply does not exist, I am asking for a daily driver that you'd recommend )

I agree. Currently, I'm running androwook hb 1.51 with the 1.7 clemsyn kernel.
The energy rom continues to improve at a rapid rate, and I might make the switch back after a bit more tweaking..
Another vote for Androwook here. It's based on the stock's design and gives you the option to install some of the stock apps as well, so it's not a big change to the interface like some other ROMs can force, but still updates the kernel, adds features, removes bloat, etc.

Thanks! So you'd say it close to the tf700's ClearRom series: meaning no bloatware (unless you want it to be there), initd scripts, ability to change dpi/kernels etc.
And which kernel would you recommend for non-power users?
thank you so much everyone, this info has been most helpful! :highfive:

Androwook HB 1.51 with Clemsyn 1.7 kernel. Fast, stable and great battery life. :good:

[Q] Stable and Lag-Free Rom

whats the best stable, lag free, and fast rom for the fascinate? is their any ROM that has JB/Kk? also, i need a rom with lots of internal space.
honestly i've been most satisfied with EH03, the verizon stock ROM. i've tried every version of CyanogenMod and nothing has come close to the fluidity and speed of good ol gingybread.
although if you absolutely can not stand touchwiz for some reason, CM9 is ok but it has a couple of issues (no native wifi tethering, weird texts from blank numbers, sometimes it just freezes and reboots itself).
also i use imoseyon's lean kernel along with a couple of other mods.. if you want them let me know. it kinda looks like touchwiz 4 for me.
using the stock verizon build too, debloated, debinged, rooted. all the links to EH03-based ROMs are dead unfortunately.

And it's so subjective,,, what works for one another despises...
I loved 'baked blackbean 6' it was 4.1.x jellybean (course i heavily tweaked it to my personal liking),,, and then came Slim ROM 4.2.2 ,,,
hellybean was good too,,,
Of course running the devil kennel from hellybean on these was the ticket too.
you just gotta be willing to take the plunge and try some different ones out till you find the one that trips your trigger the best
actually, based on prior experience, CM7 is the best non-TW GB ROM (although i'm content with my gutted out modded to hell EH03), ICS i just don't recommend because it gives excellent performance and is solid but the devs never fixed a few issues that are kinda big. JB just always lagged and stuttered too much but i remember Helly being a halfway decent rom

How much internal space does it have?

Which is the best alternative to TouchWiz?

Hello everyone,
I've been striving looking for a rom that works fine on the P4 but no luck so far.
I want to get rid once for all of the TouchWiz stockrom which is slow as hell and makes me want to throw the tablet against the wall. I've been flashing CM and few others but they are all quite buggy and made me want to go back to TouchWiz and hence increase my frustration.
Which is in your experience the best alternative to TouchWiz? I need something stable, fast, and that works!
Thanks
Davide
Have you been trying using latest kitkats? It looks like they made to work much smoother then ever before.
Currently there are 3 competitive kitkat roms. I think that nameless is fastest and most stripped out. Though there are some bugs, in my experience most custom roms were smoother and more stable than even ICS stock rom for about half a year
You can also look at this list of proprietary launchers: ru wikipedia org/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%BF%D0%B8%D1%81%D0%BE%D0%BA_%D0%BE%D0%B1%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%BE%D1%87%D0%B5%D0%BA_Android

[Q] CyanogenMod 11 M10 - any experience?

Hi there little-biggie users
I would like to know some information from those who use the latest CM11 on Z Ultra.
Does everything work? I mean for example WiFi tethering ... because I read there have been problems.
Is it smooth enough? stock 4.4.4 is very smooth ... some people say 4.3 was better ... I know it is not important, but how much does it score in AnTuTu?
Is it worth moving from stock to CM? I had Xperia Neo before ... so I have experience with flashing etc. ... but I do not have much time now and just want to be sure.
Thank you for your answers :good:

I'm not using CM (I\m building Carbon for the community so use that) but tethering was fixed about a month or so ago. No AOSP/CM11 seems to score quite as high as Stock on antutu, but benchmarks aren't everything.
I will pick Aosp performance over CM anytime.

I seen that two months ago... scores on antutu are so poor on custom roms...

They keep improving thanks to ever-excellent dev work. I tried some benchmarks for the first time recently, and got almost 40,000 points on Antutu v5 with both Slim/CandyKat and LiquidSmooth (optimised CM11 kernel) with pretty stock settings. PAC-ROM scored a bit lower at ~35-36,000 with the standard CM11 kernel.
I personally find Sony ROMs the smoothest graphically, but the benefits of custom ROMs outweigh this for me.
Haven't tried stock, but using latest nightly (not that many commis have been merged since my was forked).
It's very nice. I can only compare it with cm on note 3, but this seems better. I have a small issue with the light sensor, but everything else world fine. Smooth. I'm using ART, and I've had 0 reboots or fc's compared to the other mentioned device.
I've heard that stock is nice, but for the latest and greatest you'll have to run a cm/aosp base? Hopefully we'll see the next Android iteration soon..
I just moved off stock to CM11.2 about a week ago and I'm liking it but there is something wonky with the dialer, when I make or receive a call if I hang up using the red bar it doesn't hang the call up. The red bar turns dark and the person is still on line.
Oh, got one other complaint, the camera is VERY VERY slow to come up, like 30-60 seconds sometimes. I've also seen it unable to connect.
Those are about my only complaint. It's way better than Sony and getting my Root Explorer, Titanium Backup, and Recovery back is worth it.
Marc
Only issue is the camera sometimes forced close .. other than that , battery life is awesome , smooth and fast. On top of this I flashed a OnePlusOne conversion kit and everything works. I like the screencast app. I like this new build.
Theme engines are awesome too...
for the camera see the fix in most of the custom ROM threads
bugs everywhere but not more or fewer than other roms
