Hello guys!
I have read everything here on this topic, but I have some questions that I need answered:
I used this "super easy" root method with that chinese application http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439667
I then used the root checker app and it said that the phone is rooted.
And then I used Flashify to flash a clockwork recovery image onto my LG L9 and it flashed okay, but when I rebooted the phone it said Security Error on the LG screen.
Please tell me there is a way to fix this without erasing all the data on the phone...........
Thank You very much in advance!
I somehow managed to install that firmware, but now everything is inverted and backwards. Touchscreen is barely functioning. Even the colors are not the same. I did a hard reset but it keeps on being inverted.
My phone have the T-Mobile logo on top, I dont know which kdz and from where should I download it.

Can you access "Backup" app by LG?
If so, make an backup of all you have in the phone, place it in your PC (or somewhere safe), connect your phone to PC, and install LG Mobile Support Tool. After it is installed, open it, click Options and then Upgrade Recovery.
All files and saves from the phone will be lost (except SD Card), but when the program finishes restoring system, you will be able to restore your saves, apps, settings etc. back.
Don't forget to backup and but it in your PC!
After restoring the system, put backup file back in your phone, then enter in "Backup" app, and then restore.
Hope it was clear

Yes, you were clear enough, but I CAN NOT access LG recovery neither I can NOT install Clockwork mod. The only thing I get is the inverted touchscreen phone and the S/W upgrade mode...
How can I install CWM or enter any kind of recovery??
This is my second day trying to fix this, I am getting mad.
P.S. I have backed up everthing before that.

So enter in S/W upgrade mode, then connect your phone to PC and do as i said. Install LG Mobile Support Tool, after installing open LG Mobile Support Tool, click Options, then click Upgrade Recovery (all this stuff is in LG Mobile Support Tool, not in your phone, your phone needs to be in S/W upgrade mode)
It will install official KDZ from LG servers to your phone, and it will be like new.

I understand this. But it doesn't do anything. I have to enter the IMEI for the Recovery Update to start, and after it connects the phone it stops at the download phase where the timer stops and NOTHING happens.
Check the Driver

I did the exact same thing as you, as soon as i rooted it i should have stopped its really all i needed, but no i had to go one step further and use flashify to install clockwork and yep when it rebooted i got the security error. The main issue i am having is that no matter what i try to do its like the phone is not being detected or seen by the programs via usb. i have installed the fastboot drivers, i have installed the lg united drivers, i let the support program install the drivers, still nothing. as soon as i plug in the usb to the phone windows pops up a message saying device not recognized, even though i see the lg united drivers in device manager under ports.

I followed the same damn instructions from @cmahendra that you did and as soon as I got it rooted, I installed CWM via flashify and it rebooted and then BAM! " Security Error" and now I can't do anything with this phone.
I can't get into the "software" or "Download mode. When connecting to my Windows computer, it's not detected in Device manager, it just makes the sound like a device was connected, then immediately disconnected.
I have the LG Mobile Support Tool, but it doesn't work because the PC can't detect/install drivers for the phone. It has been detected for a short period a handful of times and is being detected as an OMAP 4430.
I have the LGT Universal driver pack as well and that doesn't help anything either.

yes thats the one i followed, for the love of god could someone please tell me how to get these drivers intalled, everytime i install lg united drivers i cant install omap, if i can get omap installed then i cant get lg united drivers, one time i was able to have both installed i have no idea how i was so confused at that time cause i had tried so much stuff, but windows was still saying usb device not recognized. and i tried the offline fix mode but it got stuck at 15 percent something about phone not connected thru usb. even when i have omap or lg drivers installed and plug the phone in it is not activating in device manager i can only see it in hidden mode.
Same here. I asked for help and was accuses of blaming him and not asking respectfully enough. Idk what to do with this thing.

No responses to Emergency mode flashing by KDZ?
Try at least with HARD RESET... Hold Power Key + Volumen Down key + Home key
When LG logo appears, release all the keys! Good luck!

First, there is no such thing as hardbrick (not anymore, most modern phones cant be hardbriked )
Be sure, u have all the drives and whatnots installed in the copmuter !
from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2730501
[Q] How to install a .kdz?
[A] (Tutorial thanks to @[W]ar[H]ead, confirmed working by TaZRAge)
#1) First to get into download mode:
1. Remove battery
2. Put usb to computer and phone (w/o battery)
3. Hold "Vol up" button
4. Put battery back
You will get into download mode (aka emergency mode).
#2) Unpack kdz flasher, and install msxml.msi.
#3) Run KDZ_FW_UPD.exe set "type" to 3GQCT and "phonemode" to DIAG.
#4) Choose the .kdz file to flash. Download link is under the "Downloads"
#5) Click "Launch software update" and wait. Phone must be connected in download mode(!). KDZ installer might get stuck but DO NOT disconnect it. (Unless it stays that way for a hour as a example)
NOTE: .kdz is a .kdz, you cannot extract it. If you get a .zip from the LG .kdz site you did something wrong.

You don't know what you are saying. You can HARDBRICK ANY modern device. By definition hardbrick means phone won't turn on won't respond and in some cases recognized as usb when connected to pc as usb bulk or qcom usb. etc. You damage the second bootloader and tell me what happens. You will see what you get.

first this is offtopic. Second, u are wrong ! Unless the phone is pshisicaly damaged (misfuctioning components or damaged), u cant hardbrick the phone with uploading different soft. on it (unless u change voltages and overclok, if that is possible on the device). Ofecourse they are exceptions, but all major modern manufactors, make hardbrick proof devices. Also, how exactly would u modify the emergency mode, and more important even if you could, why wold u do it !?
More on to the topic, none of the operations of rooting, bootloader installing, kdz install or CMx install , gets near the emergency mode. It remains intact.
Just retry all normal steps for installing kdz or recovery again, check the cables, all drivers on pc, and is best to have a charged phone battery.
EDIT: @kikobuendia
i found this post, same operations as mentioned in first reply, but more detailed:

I am not gonna reply again but I am just saying you have no idea. Do not talk unless you are sure you can hardbrick any device with just root and just writing on second bootloader partition. Read about it if you don't know. Do not argue about it.

No, no luck yet. Seems to be impossible.
I connect to this post cuz my d605 is also facing a similiar issue, no system, no recovery, no adb, download mode worked only twice, for the rest, only emergency mode works, phone cannot even charge.
Phone is recognized from pc, I uninstalled modem drivers but stays in Emergency only few seconds then it shuts down (not sure if its the battery, since it doesn't charge as well). It shuts down actually at the moment that LG mobile support tool seems to recognize it.
It worked couple of times, phone was keeping staying in emergency mode for the beginning of the procedure but at the moment it need to put the kdz into the phone, the phone die.
The two times download mode worked, same, just shutting down immediately. This with LG support tool or LG flashtool2014.
KDZ_FW_UPD worked the first time after install and then doesn't run anymore, on two different Win10 machines.
I have no idea how to come out of this nightmare, just want to flash it :/

well, sorry for not replying earlier. My phone was on guarantee for about 2 months after I wrote the post. I just send it to LG Hellas via the e-shop I bought it from and in about 2-3 weeks, I had my D605 back like it was brand new. I searched a lot about my D605 hard bricked and I found that it is not fixable. My phone could not go into download mode though, as yours. Hope I helped you even a lil bit. Sorry for my bad English.
Hey guys, so I have LG G2 Mini D620R rooted Android 5.0.2 (I think). So here is the problem: whenever I try to access settings it says: ''Unfortunatelly, Settings has stopped.'' This problem happened to me few times and I solved it with LG Mobile Support Tool, it just downloads full software from internet and install it to my phone. But now I can not do that. I try to do that when my phone is on but my computer don't recognize my device and I can not select connectivity on my phone because I can not get into settings. Last time I solved this problem going to download mode an that worked. Now when I go to download mode my computer does not recognize my phone. My phone is fully functionally and I can play games, use apps, I can do anything, just I can't go in Settings and thats just annoying. Even Bluetooth is crashing and calendar. I thing this problem came because I removed some apps that came pre installed like bloatware. I think it's because of Easy Home app which is some sort of launcher. Thanks for you reply.
Download the appropriate kdz file for your device(http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=57) and flash it using lg flash tool 2014(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190). After that be carefull of which stock apps you will delete so that the problem does not appear again!

1. Check that your device appears in windows device manager.
2. Run Lg flash tool as administrator.
3. Check that you have the appropriate lg driver.
4. Try another micro-usb cable.
5. Try flashing it through another pc/ different windows version.
6. Do a cse and not a normal flash.
7. Try using emergency mode instead of DIAG (in cse mode).
8. If the above do not work, consider unlocking the bootloader, install TWRP custom recovery, install CM13 and feel the difference..

Hi all,
by cons for several weeks I've a concern with my redmi Note 2 and I can't find the answer to my problem on the forum or even the Internet.
Since the last update 7.2.2 (global) I have the Recovery MIUI who crushed the TWRP. I changed to test 6.3.17. The update to the .24 went wrong and I don't know why. Since the phone is bootloop. But the problem is that my phone is not recognized by any PC. I tried several PCs, several cables, several drivers, with or without the Fastboot, unable to connect. Therefore impossible to load a new version. I don't think it's material problem because the phone recharge well with a cable to the socket.
Is there another handling or debug decision to restart the phone? I'm in France for information.
thank you in advance if you can point me to a solution !
Hope someone can help me.
Manu
Can the phone boot to miui recovery? If so, you should be able to use miui recovery to flash TWRP (I think you will need one with a signed install zip). You only need to take out the external SD, put it in one of those cheap USB card readers, copy your recovery and ROM to the SD, put it back in the phone, flash TWRP with miui recovery, and then flash the ROM with TWRP (I am assuming that miui recovery can install things from the external SD - if not, then none of this will work).
Hi Bro,
Yes it boot in MIUI recovery but impossible to get access to the SD Card...
I tried to put the file on the SD card but you can't choose the path, I think the recovery will look only in the internal memory ... And as I can't access the internal memory..
I despair !!
Thanks o lot for your help

Well, then it is very strange that you can't use the SP Flash Tool. If the phone vibrates, then the device is recognised, and you should be able to flash anything you want with the SP Flash Tool! How exactly were you trying to use the Flash Tool?
I tried so many solutions I really don't know exactly how I used the software.
I will again try everything.
But against any changes when I look in the USB settings of the PC, the phone doesn't appear.
I try again just now, thank you for your help.

With the SP Flash Tool, all you need is the correct "scatter" file (MT6795_Android_scatter.txt), and the image(s) that you want to flash. If the phone is vibrating, then the SP Flash Tool should be able to connect to it when you click "Download". Just make sure that you first untick everything that you do NOT want to flash. I would try flashing the boot image (boot.img) first. If that succeeds, then try the TWRP recovery image.
Ok. I'm going to try again with "http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=196175&highlight=sp%2Btool%2Bflash%2Bredmi%2Bnote%2B2"

Strange! I am assuming that when you connect the phone with the USB cable, the battery has been removed from the phone? If so, then it should work.
Perhaps you should try first connecting the phone, and then waiting until it has vibrated once or twice, before clicking the "Download" button?
Yes I removed battery before connect the phone to PC. I tried also with battery and nothing changed.
I even changed the cable to be sure.
Which seems to me most strange is that I see nothing in the device manager, as if the phone wasn't connected. Whatever the installed driver is the same result. I think it should at least have the phone on the COM or USB port ...
I will try again this night to be sure with all steps one by one. And I will also try with ACER tablet I and runs Android 5.1. Maybe it will be recognized.
Otherwise I also tried to pass a Linux PC as a last resort.
Thanks again for your help.

Yes, it should. The fact that the phone vibrates when connected indicates that the PC and phone are communicating - but it may well be that a low-level driver in the phone has been overwritten (which may mean that this is a lost cause). A final idea - can miui recovery access usbotg?
Hum good question. In fact I don't know. I'll ask the MIUI forum.
I got home late from work so I don't do tests tonight, I'd see it all tomorrow including the connection with my tablet ...
Thanks

Hi,
I tried to connect with an Acer Tablet with Android 5.1.1 but nothing appends...
I tried also with a Linux PC (Debian) and if I can see a Samsung A3 phone dirrectly, no way for my Redmi Note 2...
There really I despair : I think I can't access any of the phone. Can't do anything !
If you have any other solution but you help me a lot already, and thanks for that.
Can be a micro crack on the USB plug into the phone if it's not a software problem ... Let's go for it apart and look at this ...
Thanks again bro.

I don't think it is a crack on the USB plug. It seems to me to be a low-level driver problem - ie, the drivers on the phone that are active when the phone is not (fully) booted up. I don't have the right terminology for these drivers, but they are possibly part of the bootloader. If that is the problem, then I don't know how you would solve this problem.
Hay guys,
I got a big problem, yesterday I tryed to downgrade my brothers LG P760 and made a big misstake.
When I tryed to go into 'recovery mode', I just used the wrong keys (VOL DOWN + HOME + POWER ON/OFF). Now my phone doesn't boot up anymore, it just hangs at the LG bootlogo. I can go into 'S/W Mode' and into 'Fastboot Mode', but if I go into 'Fastboot Mode' my decive driver is hangs in a loop. Hanging all day and night to fix this problem, but I can't do anything.... I hope anyone can help me!
Windows OS: Windows 10
Phone: LG P760
ROM: CM 12.1
Thanks a lot!

Yea, this is the last tool I used and it went fast as nothing else yet, but while flashing the stock firmware it doesn't continue at 60% and saying "Verifying phone connection...".
And does it work with Windows 10?
Thanks for your help!
Fastboot & L9 & Win10 ain't good for me, too.
But D/L mode is more basic and thus more reliable. And there are basically two ways to unbrick, online with the official LG tool, and with LG Flash Tool 2014 and a KDZ image. Only the first option works without problems for me.

Thanks for your time and answere!
Yea, I also think it's the Windows 10 which makes problems, I can't get any driver installed for this P760.
So I can just download the official lg support tool and try it this way?
EDIT: And btw... I did exactly the second step already and had also problems. I didn't did the D/L mode step yet. Can you explain how it works, I don't know how to come into D/L mode.
Thanks!
In da other Thread! In D/L mode the phone should get recognized by LG driver and a virtual com port be installed. LG software only works with LG drivers, and they sometimes don't recognize the phone, except in D/L mode.
Fir other purposes the Google SDK usb drivers are best, but then there's the Fastboot issue. But ADB should work.

The 'LG Mobile Support Tool' says that the right firmeware is already installed and then he is starting to download V20O with 599,15MByte. But the thing is, that the phone will just go out of the S/W mode while the 'LG Mobile Support Tool' is downloading the V20O. After the phone switched off, my driver is looping and always saying it can't recnogrize it. It does it like 20 times and then the phone will go on and LG logo appears. Nothing more.... :/
My P760 never quit D/L mode before or during download. Afterwards LGs recovery may appear, which calls itself something like Service Mode. This is not good, though the stock rom should initially work, but there are problems when rooting etc. In such a case leave phone connected and flash a second time. The phone should reboot to the launcher, if successful.
I have flashed my device probably 50 times at this point trying different ROMS. Yesterday I decided to give stock another shot, but now I'm stuck. I had to flash the stock recovery to update to Marshmallow after restoring my Lollipop backup. I'm not happy with it, but I cannot reflash TWRP. When I boot to bootloader the fastboot drivers no longer work. Windows device manager says it's an unknown device and the device descriptor failed. I can't even manually force it to install the driver for the device by picking it, because it says that the driver isn't for that device. I even tried resetting my crappy Windows tablet so that it would have nothing previously installed and then installed HiSuite, but the same problem there as on my desktop. I have also tried generic "universal" android drivers and sketchy Huawei drivers from a "how to unlock your bootloader" tutorial. I have unplugged it and replugged it several times, using various different USB ports (I have 10 of them, so no shortage there).
I can't flash recovery through fastboot because that isn't an option. When in normal mode the computer sees the device just fine as a MTP device and an ADB device, but when I try to run ADB commands they don't see the device either. At this point I am really trying to find any way I can root the phone, regardless of how sketchy, so I can use Flashify to restore TWRP and go back to CM13 or an AOSP. Does anybody know a working method to root besides flashing through fastboot? Thanks.

There is none. The only safe way to root is to flash TWRP in fastboot. Right now, you can try to force update through update.app
Thanks for the reply, but:
1. I'm not looking for a safe method, just any method. I've tried the obvious suspects already (towelroot, kingroot, kingoroot)
2. I don't need to force an update, I am on the latest firmware now. If anything I may have to attempt to force a downgrade to open up vulnerabilities, but if I go back to lollipop then I will likely have issues flashing cm13.

Oh. But like I said, there is none.
I have come to the same conclusion, but I'm still hoping if somebody has rooted it in another way that they will see this thread and share their method. Otherwise I may end up stuck on unrooted stock, which will kinda suck.

Have you tried changing the drivers.?
Yes
So, I did not figure out how to root it without fastboot, but I did solve my problem. I dug out the cable that came with the phone, and using that cable my computer finally recognized it as an Android device when in fastboot mode. I don't know why it only works with that cable, but there it is, so I will have to make sure that cable never gets broken or lost.
