Hello
I am trying to flash 2.3.6 gb on my player 5.0, but I keep on getting errors

Can anyone help me, I am coming from stock unrooted froyo.
Thanks
EDIT:I read that you must turn off your device and then turn it back on, but how can I turn it off when I can't remove the built in battery in the galaxy player?
Put in download mode by holding the power+home+volume down button and try flashing GB 2.3.6

Never mind, I solved it, but the problem wasn't actually that, in download mode, it gave me that error while trying to flash with odin.
Thanks anyway

Hi, after trying out some custom roms like CM9-10 and Omega my phone suddenly started rebooting. It lets me enter the PIN and starts up but after a qouple of seconds it reboots again.
The wierd part is that it autostarts after I insert the battery, but I can enter both CWM and Download mode.
I have tried enter CWM and do a wipe but phone reboots in the middle of the process, same goes when trying to flash CM9 or any other rom I have on the internal SD.
I have also tried following a Swedish guide to restore it to stock using Odin, but after adding the PDA and pressing start I get a Fail in Odin to, something about NAND write fails.
Does anyone have a solution for me? Should I tick re-partition or do something other in Odin?
I would suggest boot into recovery. Wipe Dalvik cache. Flash Rom. Wipe both caches. reboot.

Well I think so, it was sold in Sweden.
The problem is that it reboots doing most of the actions in CWM, I think I have managed to wipe Dalvik but as soon as I try to install a rom it just reboots.
I also tried rooting again using Odin 1.85 but it fails with that version too.

If all else fails get yourself a S3 USB Jig. I bought one, funnily enough it arrived today from Hong Kong and it only cost something like 2,50€ delivered free. Then install a stock rom.

If your Nand is corrupt i dont think you can get out of it......99 percent of the time if you can get into download mode your good. but if you having Nand Write issues, i dont know if there is a coming back from that.
hope thats not the case and another member can shed some better light on the subject.

Could you post a link to that thread? I found this one and have tried flashing some of the PIT-files but it does not work. Or should I flash some other files at the same time?
Ok, following one guide witch seams to fix my problem is that I need a 3-part firmware. Every Firmware I have downloaded contains:
boot, cache, hidden, modem, recovery, system -if I extract them one extra time. Is that right? Where should I load them in odin in that case? If not could anyone direct me to a download-page for 3-part firmwares? (I downloaded the last one from samfirmware.com)
It is very strange that the core functions kind of work as I can boot normaly into the system and even run an app if I am fast, then reboot.
Downloadmode works untill I try to flash something.
CWM works until I try to do a Wipe or flash a rom, I can wipe dalvik and some other stuff, but not cache, data and some other. I noticed that You could partition sdcard from CWM should I try that? and if so what should i select in the next screen about partition size?

AFAIK that stock firmware is meant for I9100 not the I9100G
ps- if u install any rom/kernel meant for I9100 and its variants like M/P/T on ur I9100G u will hardbrick ur phone for sure, since I9100G is very diff from the above ones in Hardware
You're lucky youre only in a boot loop coz that sounds like an i9100 ROM not i9100G. As long as Odin is detecting your phone you should be able to flash a stock ROM for the G variant.

"edit": i can also get it to boot normally now, it then shows a yellow triangle with exclamation mark (soo sorry for bad spelling, i'm trying my very best)
The yellow triangle isn't a problem. Doesn't mean theres any problem with the phone. Only there as a visual indicator that the phone has been flashed. If it bothers you, search for chainfire's "triangle away" app.
Edit:
If you're unable to install cyanogenmod you can try this..
-first ensure you're on ICS and not on GB.
-download the tar version of siyah kernel for the S2.
install it via Odin..steps similar to what you used to install cf.
once you've flashed siyah, you should have root access and cwm recovery. Now you can install CM or any other custom rom.

great!!!!! that kernel works like a charm....
only problem is, i can't get into the cwm recovery....
ps the yellow triangle wasn't the one under "samsung", it had something to do with an faulty upgrade and that you should reconnect to keis.... anyway, thats fixed now... thx a lot

Can't you get into recovery using the vol up+ home+ power button combo?
It takes some getting used to..most custom ROMs provide the option to go directly into rcovery from the power menu itself.
Don't you have the CWM app? Can gt into recovery mode through that too.

Hi Devs,
I am stuck in a issue. I installed cm 12.0 (unofficial rom) to my Galaxy s3 GT-i9300 everything was working fine but suddenly it keeps on crashing randomly one day while calling my phone froze. I restarted the phone it stucked on SAMSUNG BOOT SCREEN.
I can go into download mode and recovery mode, currently using PhilzTouch 6 on recovery.
Things I have tried already.
Wiped Cache Partition
Wiped Data/Factory Reset
when i try to wipe cache or factory reset i get errors
E: can't mount /data or Formatting /sdcard/.android_secure
For some reason my phones internal memory is on the read only mode i tried to flash the stock rom as well so far no luck.
I tried 4 different stock roms none of them work they all stopped on nand write or setup connection
I followed the instruction below because thats what exactly happened to my phone but no luck when ever i try to load boot files into PDA it keeps failing.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030
please guys i am tired and exhausted trying all different stuff guide me. I even tried PIT Files noting work. Thanks in advance
Try going back to stock/factory.
Boot in download mode (vol down+home+power).
Use Odin to flash stock recovery and firmware.
Once you are able to boot perfectly into touchwiz, can narrow down your points of failure and try again or try another ROM

Hi Blue,
Thanks for reply , so you meant to say i replace philztouch with stock recovery.
Correct me if i am wrong.
Replace philz with stock recovery and replace your rom with touchwiz. Figure out where you went wrong and then flash your custom rom again or flash a different custom rom.
Try flashing another recovery. Worked for me once
Thanks for Help
Can you send me link for GT-i9300 International Stock Recovery so i am installing exact thing it would be great help from you guys and i would really appreciate it.

Nand write fail usually means emmc corrupt/damaged you could try the rescue firmware but this looks like hardware failure.

Download another ROM preferably a KitKat Rom(Your choice). But since ODIN is blocked you'll have to flash it via your custom recovery. If you don't have a custom recovery:
Goto the Playstore
Download "TWRP Manager (ROOT)"
Open app
Grant Permission(on SU)
Select "Device Name"
Find "Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300"
Select "Recovery Version to install"
Select the latest one(The one very first at the top is latest available)
Hit "Install Recovery"
Make sure you have WiFi as it will now start to download the files..
If something like "Ensure the partition...... /dev/block/.." pops up; Hit "YES"

Sounds like the phone is bricked.
You have to return to stock S3 via download mode and start the rooting again if ODIN still works in Download Mode.
Do you know how to?
