Um... try doing something that requires root?
do you see a "superuser" app on your drawer?
if not its most likely you are not rooted

[CLOSED][Q] OTA update if rooted?

I was about to ROOT my Galaxy S3 and just found out that JellyBean will be coming next month. So I was wondering, If I do ROOT my phone will I be able to receive the OTA update without any problems? I don't care that I lose ROOT, I just don't want to brick my phone

No it won't brick, you will lose root, but just run c.f. root 6.4
And you'll get root back.
No loss of apps.
I do suggest do a nandroid backup just in case, don't forget to uncheck ever root in supersu app.
I've done one ota before and lost root, even though ever root was enabled in supersu.

Cf root is a chainfire root package I use with my s3
As for OTA updates, yes you will still get them with your rooted S3 & Yes you can install them
You will just lose root.

I do not have a issue with my internet. I have a issue tethering. Says my sim is invaild or no data avail
looks like att has a provision that needs to be modified how ever all I find is the ice version of the hack
not jb. I need the jb one. Easy baby steps to install would be great
Thanks
