Um... try doing something that requires root?

do you see a "superuser" app on your drawer?
if not its most likely you are not rooted

Yes if the superuser.apk is gone, that means you unrooted it. You didn't have to do that for flashing tho.

Simple answer: kernel is NOT included in root process for SGS3
You need CF ROOT

Try CF Root from this thread ... it just roots your device without changing kernel/platform

Questions (Rooting)

Hey guys, i'm new to the XDA-Forums but i'll have some questions.
I'm about to root my Samsung Galaxy S2 Android( 4.0.3)
baseband: I9100XXLPW
and Kernel is XWLPD
I would like to root with this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125414
I've readen this and understand everything expect some things..
If i have rooted my phone, can i still update when (a new update) 4.0.4 has released?
AND what apps does i get if i rooted? (because i only want superuser)
Well that's all i want to now,
*bump*
somebody??!
Rooting will install Superuser during the process. If you're rooted and get an OTA update and install it, you'll likely lose root. So, you just have to re-root...
Sent from my MB865 using xda's premium carrier pigeon service
I did everything, got the superuser and i did run root check but it says sorry i don't have root
realy weird
what should i do!?
i flashed again to unsecure kernel
should i start s2 root again and click root device or unroot and then root ?

Did you reboot after rooting? If you have the Superuser application from the rooting process I'd be led to believe it worked.

Root Check didn't ask for permission, or which app are you referring to? You could try to re-root, won't do any harm. You followed all 11 steps in the rooting guide exactly?

I want to play Pokemon GO but rooted phones aren't supported so I want to unroot my phone using kingo PC because I also rooted my phone using Kingo PC. I am very worried. Will this affect my games' performance like hitman sniper,Need for speed etc.? BTW my phone is an Xperia S running on Android 6.0.1. Please reply.
Remove root won't affect your recovery
