Okay, as the thread title states and as I had searched for a Samsung Vibrant related thread about this issue I haven't found any. My issue as stands is when I try to perform a Factory Data Reset on my Samsung Vibrant t959VUVKD1, 2.2.1 Froyo, it only comes up with this set of words on the recovery screen.

So, as one can see this is evidence of my attempt at rooting and using Clockworkmod Recovery.
What I used was SuperOneClick 2.2 and successfully rooted my phone but then I decided to unroot after finding out ClockworkMod Recovery wasn't able to create a backup on my phone, also, I used a 3e_recovery_installer batch file I found somewhere which managed to unlock my Android system recovery so I could get into Clockworkmod Recovery but ever since I unrooted and uninstalled Clockworkmod Recovery it won't allow me to perform a factory data reset. I was able to do it TWICE after unrooting my phone but now I can't perform the factory data reset and I do not understand why.
Have you tried to odin back to stock or use the toolbox?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954509
Never used Odin or Toolbox before because I've never found a concrete tutorial on how to correctly flash/root my vibrant. I would like to flash but I just don't feel safe about it even though I had downloaded a supposedly stock rom of the UKVD1 rom for Vibrant.

Erm, I used the Toolbox to use "Flash to Stock" and when Odin opened up I selected Pit.pit and it showed a yellow to green color on the first box and my phone turns off then nothing happens. What does this mean?
1. When odin opens select pit
2.click the Pit.pit file after screen change and click open
3.You should be returned to odin main.
4. click pda
5.click pda file and click open.
6.you are returned to main odin.
7.set phone down, click start and do not unplugg
8 let it run till pass, and auto reboot

I did all that just now but now I'm stuck on a looping charging screen or a looping Samsung Vibrant screen. However, this isn't the same as the original T-Mobile screen and even so how do I get past the looping screen?
1. pull the battery
2. insert the battery
3.hold down volumeup/ volumedown buttons
4. insert the usb cable, you should enter download.
5 reset toolbox and select flash to stock, odin should appear,
My experience.
When you are facing boot loop, it's very hard to get in to download mode.
I tried button trick for download mode, but I failed.
So I used adb and tried to reboot into download mode by command.
I repeated it until I could get into the mode.
Anyway, download Toolbox and once u get into the mode,
try to go back to stock. That 'll fix everything.
I also know that the logo changed after I flashed back to stock.
I faced I9000 logo which wasn't before.
FYI: + the version will be eclair, and I couldn't get the official update.
Anyway good luck.

If you never get into download mode.. Try to use JIG.
Another way is to disassembly your phone and do something.
I suggest you buy a JIG.
Problem is, I can easily get into Download mode by:
1. Remove USB Cable
2. Pull battery and re-insert
3. Plug in USB cable
4. Hold Volume - and +
And it's in Download mode
But I want to get the original Smasung Vibrant 2.2.1 UVKD1 Rom back on but it appears the provided files aren't it?
Btw, what is a Pit and and PDA file supposed to be, I'm a complete noob at this point.
The pit and pda files in aio toolbox are the stock rom the vibrant is shipped with, if you want anythig else on it you have to download it and flash it through odin, rom manager, or cwm.

I see. But now when the phone starts up it shows a buncha dots in consecutive order to the Samsung Vibrant screen after I flashed to stock using the pit and pda files and it just loops continuously until I pull the battery. Is there anything that can be done to get past the looping?
Does the pitcure look like a phone....!....computer? If so then you are softbricked and just get back in download mode and re-Odin, but make sure that when you Odin, you DO NOT have the repartition checked. Probably what happened.
If it is not the above, can you get into recovery? Can you now do a factory reset? Wipe cache, dalvik and reset usually clears the bootloop problem.

Unfortunately I can't get into recovery. I also Odin'd with the given Pit.pit and PDA.tar files with Repartition unchecked but that didn't change anything.
I cant figure how you could be in a bootloop coming out of odin. Is the AIO you downloaded for vibrant. I think theres one for fascinate and captivate.

I used the AIO Toolbar for Vibrant as provided by the link by the person earlier. The loop just continues forever and ever until I remove the battery.
The three button method of entering recovery hasnt worked?
You mean hold Power and Vol + and -?
No, it doesn't work.
i am hesitant to advise anything, the fact that factory reset didnt work, and recovery has been removed is troubling. when i get a fail message when flashing to stock ive used eugenes froyo that does not brick. If all else fails you might google it and read the op. Its a pda file used by odin.
What I find strange is that download mode works perfectly fine but nothing else.
what I find strange is coming out of odin and looping, you should come out in recovery with an error message. a cannot mount data or bdata. storage not ready. Removing recovery may have removed more than was expected. check the op on eugenes froyo you have to get back to stock.
Hello, I wanted to add my previous Issue I had before running into this problem.
I currently need to fix a issue ASAP as I am selling my s3 soon. I tried to unroot my s3 and reset it to factory settings but flashed the Verizon firmware on my phone and not the international version firmware. The flash failed in Odin and now I am stuck at a screen saying the Firmware upgrade encountered an error. Please try again. I tried to go into download and recovery mode multiple times and cannot do so. I assume is bricked or soft bricked? Can I use a usb jig to get into download mode?

After purchasing a USB JIG, I can now get into Download mode, but the issue is every time I try to install a stock firmware, I am stuck in Recovery mode. The binary count on the phone says "18", but I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. Please help, thank you. My phone is the I9300.
So the stock ROM installs without errors?
Have you done a factory reset from recovery afterwards?
This should be fixable unless the firmware you flashed also included a bootloader

No, the stock ROM cannot install, every time I try to install the ROM, it gets stuck in Odin says "Recovery". I cannot get into the phone because it will still show the firmware error if I unplug the usb jig from the usb download mode.
Have you tried Kies if you want to return to stock, start Kies and go to Tools > Firmware Upgrade and Installation
Follow the instructions on the screen, this is supposed to completely reset the phone and install the latest firmware version for that phone
Hi, I have a samsung SIII GT-I9300 and I installed Cyanogenmod 10.1
After I want to the back to the stock rom and when I am flashing the device my computer shut down from a Blue screen of death
Since this issue my phone has get stucked in DOWNLOAD MODE. I can't run in recovery mode only in DOWNLOAD MODE and won't start
when I try to flashing the device get stucked in NAND WRITE START.
Help I don't know what to do. I am thinking to send to SAMSUNG SERVICE, but inte download mode appear the binary count with 1 and I think they will say me the warranty is void.
What can I do?????
:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Flash a stock Rom with Odin
Don't worry, if you can boot in download mode you can flash a stock firmware. But sorry, your internal sdcard will be wiped.
Check this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610
Keep calm and make sure you are doing everything right, I had a flash fail before now, I know what it can be like.
Make sure all Kies processes have been stopped in task manager and try to flash a stock rom through Odin, double check all the right things are checked in Odin, and try to flash, if it's adding the phone in Odin it should be able to flash.
If all that doesn't work try to do an emergancy recovery using Kies, but that shouldn't be needed.
....and remember when flashing stock it can take 10 mins to boot, and I'd it still doesn't boot then boot into recovery and do a factory reset
I was checking for new updates for cyanogen and updated the latest one but it got stuck on boot screen... I cannot get into cwm but I can get into download... plz help... was running 4.2.2

either ask in the CM thread or flash a stock rom from sammobile.com then root all over again.
where is the cm thread for this phone...
In the meantime... I have tried to use Odin to reset to factory but it fails, so asking in cw thread would do no good if I cannot access cw... count is @ 13 and cannot add triangle either so I cannot take back... tried Kies but once again I cannot turn phone on... so if anyone can guide me to factory reset thread since I have been searching for 3 hrs I would appreciate it...

i think you've confused what i said with about 3 different things here~~!
odin doe's not do a factory reset, odin flashes firmware. can you get in to recovery or download mode any more? (i guess you can if you know your flash count is at 13) kies won't do anything since you are rooted and (was) running a firmware it would not recognize. kies is a pile of tosh! Delete it!
below is taken from a thread, i've provided the link and the part you need to know, Which stock firmware are you trying to flash through odin? and where did you get it from? use sammobile.com.
[EDIT] the CM thread is the same thread you downloaded the CM rom from.
Instructions For Flashing Firmware:
Extract the firmware
Open the included Odin
Turn off your device
Put your device into Download MODE (Home + Volume Down + Power)
Click PDA and select *.tar.md5
Then finally click START!

I have used Odin in the past with my first Epic to flash back to factory so that is why I tried with this one when I found the tar file, but it fails every time. I cannot get into recovery only download. When I try to get into recovery it says "Fireware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again"... CWM-Recovery-LTE-SGS3-v5.tar.md5 is the file I flashed from Team Epic... I downloaded CWM back in Nov over 5 months ago... no idea where it is now...
That file failed as well
My s4 locked up yesterday running hyperdrive rls20 and wouldnt restart. I was able to get into recovery mode and flashed the full wipe md5 which Odin3 said was sucessful butmy device never started. Now i CANNOT get into recovery mode and the phone wont do anything. please help!!!!

If there is no response after a battery pull, hard brick has occoured...
I was able to get into download mode after letting the phone sit for a while. I flashed with Odin and phone completed flash and rebooted. On the reboot the android popped up and the blue status bar went through and completed. Odin said 1 sucessful/0 failed. Now nothing happens. Does it need to be repartitioned? If so where can I get the file?

I am afraid that you will need a FULL Wipe and Repartition...
For Nc5:

That is what I used for my friend. He would get the sammy logo and a black screen. I had to pull the battery and back in to get into download mode... If that does not work.. I don't think anything can help. Someone more experience may be able to say if Jtag works, but I have never had the need for it...
