I rooted my att x10a phone but cannot add CWM. I've tried several programs. Some programs said CWM installed but it doesn't do anything when press the back button several times.
Can someone help me find the correct way to install CWM for my X10a?
I've also tried xparts and xrecovery and those don't work either. help?

I can't get xrecovery to install
I've actually done this before a few times with a generic x10 but this phone is att branded and is on their 2.1 update on baseband .65. I have rooted it with flashtool and installed busybox, but it won't let me install the xrecovery apk because it says that the phone does not allow for outside of market apps, and there is no option in the application setting for it. What should I do????
Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew a way to get back to xRecovery so I can flash my back up to where it was.
I was trying to load a new ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238402
I rooted, loaded xRecovery 0.3, and flashed it. After that I was stuck in a boot loop with the SE Logo hanging and I couldn't get back to xRecovery, so I used Flashtool and loaded one of the kernels that came with the tool and managed to boot successfully, but apparently the WiFi gives an error and it's being iffy when trying to communicate with Flashtool again (When Asking for Root Permits, it won't give the prompt on the phone)
My idea was to reinstall xRecovery with Flashtool and restore from my backup, but I can't seem to be able to get to xRecovery to install or to work for that matter. Apparently this phone is more complicated to toy around than my Xperia X8 and I screwed up this time around
Any ideas?
after you flash FXP tft files, you only able to get to CWM recovery. but since you already unlocked bootloader, go flash Doomlord boot manager, you will get both CWM and xRecovery back. you can use xRec there. cheers
could you link me to the files you're referring to? I can't make heads or tails of exactly which I need. I saw some supposed Kernel Files from DoomLord, but they were .zip.
Do you think flashing the X10a Generic Firmware with Flashtool would work?

As I understand it, it's a kernel, baseband, and OS all in one?

I finally got my Samsung gem sch-I100 rooted and have Superuser. Now when i open it ask my model and it's shows up and i hit flash clockwork mod recovery and it say's does not officially supported clockworkmod recovery yet. have you installed a clockworkmod based recovery manually
when i press yes it give's me two confirm version Cockworkmod 2.x n 3.x+. then when i press reboot into recovery it doesn't do anything could anybody help me on what i am doing wrong or how to install it manually thanks
could u please tell me how u root yours. I have tried so many way to were its get crazy and hopeless now. my phone came with 2.2.2 and I just want to get rid of some of these apps that I will never use. if u can help me thanks.
Still kind of a semi-n00b, but here's my issue:
I was previously using my Atrix 4g on 2.3.4 and was both rooted and unlocked. I also had full access to Clockworkmod Recovery (through the app if I remember correctly).
I updated to 2.3.6 and rooted the phone again, but this time I cannot install Clockworkmod Recovery. I thought Motorola unlocked the bootloader with the latest update, but maybe I made that up?
Anyway, just wondering what I have to do to get Clockworkmod Recover on here now that I'm rooted with 2.3.6.
Please help. Thanks!
Did you install CWM thru RomManager or something like that? Have you tried to install Rom Manager and install it again? Have you tried holding the down volume button when you restart to see if you can get into CWM?
Is UNLOCKED written on the top corner of the boot logo screen if not i think u will have to flash the pudding file to make unlocked bootloader working again.
I tried installing through the ClockworkMod app. I did try all the basics - uninstalling, reinstalling, etc.
The phone does not show unlocked any longer. I've looked in the forums and unless i'm looking in the wrong places, unlocking the bootloader on 2.3.6 seems much more advanced than it was on 2.3.4.
Why is that?
