hi i have looked but cant find an answer
am i able to connect my lg 2 mini by a cable to a large screen tv
thanks
The phone is/has been advertized as having a slimport, this is false information. It has NO slimport, so no TV-Out
After I emailed LG customer support (in the Netherlands) that my slimport adapter did not work they rectified the info on the dutch website.

Hello all,
I am looking for a used , relatively inexpensive ATT android with good video output (720?). A cable is O.K, hdmi or RBG. wireless is Ok if box is not to expensive. Would like to do it on the cheap so phone can be a little bit "legacy".
Have looked at the Galaxy S but am not sure if the U.S. att model supports this video out function.
Suggestions?
Thanks, PK
All,
Just bought a adapter cable (Micro-USB to HDMI/MHL adapter) from Ebay that is compatible with the Samsung galaxy S3. It states you can watch pictures or video from the phone to your TV in HD.
However, it simply doesn't work, is there something I need to setup on my phone (like the old TV Out) ???
Thanks for any advice received.

You probably got yourself one of the many fakes that claim to be S3 compatible but really just the old type MHL cable.
No you shouldn't have to do anything. Seems to be a bit of confusion among retailers though as to which cable is for s3. Is it generic? Do you have a product no.?
Here is the link
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ADAPTER-C...=324333572946690179&pid=100011&prg=1005&rk=4&
Here is the information
Cable from micro-USB-connector to HDMI
enables the connection from HD-capable smartphones on the HDMI port of a HD-TV
compatible HD 1080p
view pictures or videos from your mobile phone on the TV in Full-HD
No power supply necessary, the phone can be charged at the same time through the Micro-USB jack on the adapter
Compatible with:
Samsung Galaxy SII S2 i9100 / Samsung Galaxy Note N7000
Samsung Galaxy i997
Samsung Galaxy Nexus i9250 / i9520
Samsung Galaxy S3 / GT-i9300
HTC Sensation XL / G14
HTC Flyer
HTC Evo 3D
Samsung EIA2UHUN
HTC AC M490
Sony Ericsson Xpera Arc / X12 / Xperia S / Xperia Neo V
If it's compatible with s2 it's not compatible with s3. Seller has either advertised incorrectly on purpose or by mistake. Best contact them to seek a refund then you will see which it is.

Thanks mate, I was thinking the same thing but great to get feedback, guess I need to return it.

Yup, I can also confirm. There was an article on Engadget about Samsung rearranging the pin arrangement of the port.

Wow, that's not fair. It is Samsung that is selling fake MHL accessories.
That vendor was selling a real MHL accessory, compatible with the > 100 real MHL devices already in market. Sammie gave no warning or explanation, and advertised that the SGS3 supported MHL, so many vendors had no way to know that their MHL cables wouldn't work with the SGS3.
Now those vendors have to give people money back and take a loss, when all they were doing is selling authentic MHL stuff.

Sorry but I am being fair because I've seen dozens of cables claiming to be S3 compatible and some that say they made specifically for the S3 alone, I mean I just got caught out by one because 11 days after getting dispatch confirmation I emailed the seller and they said they just found out it isn't compatible and offered a refund, so it looks like they knew it was fake from the beginning and didn't send it but still charged me and confirmed it was sent, and I think everyone can agree this item is definitely trying to claim to work on S3 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Adapter-GT-...7TNA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1341253133&sr=8-2

MHL is a closed-documentation commercial proposed specification.
With drafts, changes are rather the norm than the exception. There were reports of the old pin-layout causing issues being the reason for the switching of pins.
But anyway, Samsung is one of the main developer in the consortium so they can change specifications.
Noone said MHL had to be backwards-compatible between revisions.
It's the seller's fault for ASSUMING that there would be no changes and marking the cable as compatible without even attempting to try.
Additionally they could've been notified of this change several months prior release of the S3 if they had bought access to the MHL specification which is restricted but still available and most surely includes iformations about the reason and details of the included changes.
LG G5 and slimport
No reviewer site said that G5 is slimport compatible neither phonearena or gsmearena or any others...
So i searched on google and found no info
So i asked LG USA and analogix-slimportconnect ( slimport creator) about that ..
Analogix answered me: YES, its Slimport enable and compatible
LG USA, answered me: we still try to figure it, we are not sure, we will ask superior departement and come back to you. ( i even said to LG USA that LG deutch web site have slimport in Specification, but all others country doesnt say anything about slimport, but even with that they are still not sure if its truth or its a specification listing error...
i dont know why, but i doubt the analogix answer..
Can someone here CONFIRM at 100% that LG G5 have slimport compatibility ? Than ks for help, this question is very important for me i used Slimport with my lg g4 for my work and presentation and to play games too.
Not sure about Slimport, but doesn't it support Wireless Display?
gaming with wireless display has too much lag. unplayable
Haven't used it for anything but playing videos which play just fine so I wouldn't really know about a game.
I asked LG Germany and Austria if the LG G5 is SlimPort compatible, and wrote to me that it is compatible with SlimPort to support the LG VR.

LG Germany confirm me that Lg G5 is slimport compatible.
Another guy in forum confirmed me that Austria and germany have confirmed him slimport compatibility
Analogix in their tweeter and facebook account confirmed that lg g5 is slimport compatible:

I have to say I actually really like the G5's look. From what I've read so far, it's looking to be a pretty kickin' fancy phone.

Yes, but the USB Type C Port is only 2.0 standart, but compatible to 3.0.
slimport with microusb-typec adapter
I'd just like add a little detail to this. I had a Delock slimport adapter for my LG G3, with microusb plug. Now that will not work with LG G5 using a microusb-typec adapter, because, as slimportconnect support confirmed, those microusb-typec adapters don't support "PD negotiation". So you'll need a slimport adapter specifically designed for usb type-c (and it's actually hard to buy any in europe), you can't reuse your old microusb slimport adapter.
I can confirm this works:

LG G5 passed Slimport Adopters program in April, 2016: http://us.slimportconnect.com/slimport-supported-devices/

Hello, do we know if there will be a Quick Charger 3.0 in the boxing ? because the phone is compatible with Quick Charge 3.0 technology... And the G4 didn't have a Quick Charger after unboxing.
The LG G5, on the other hand, is QuickCharge 3.0-capable. 3.0

Lg G5
LG has also confirmed that for a limited period of time, customers would be getting a free extra battery and a charging cradle along with the contents of the original purchase. Additionally, it has also confirmed that the handset will be made available for purchase via Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Best Buy and B&H. Lg G5 is one the most of awaiting Upcoming Android Smartphones in India
Since it's USB Type C connection and you will get a charging cable, does USB Type C have QC and Non-QC cables?
As for what's in the packaging that will be region dependant so hard to answer.
Hi all,
I have recently purchased a LG G PAD IV 8.0. I needed to share the screen to my Samsung TV which has Miracast built in or to my Amazon FireTV. They both failed as in when the LG did a search, those Miracast receivers did not show up in the list of devices available. Mine is a Samsung 55" TV. Yet, the LG G Pad was able to Screen Share to an LG TV, a Samsung 65" TV and to a Microsoft TV Adapter. Then, all of a sudden, one day, the LG G Pad was able to see my Samsung 55" TV and a few days later, again it stopped seeing it. It took me some trial and error and many factory wipes and finally it turned out, I had to have a SIM card in the G Pad to see some of the Miracast devices..
I am writing this post to help others who may have similar issues.
As to the cause, I have not been able to determine why some Wi-Fi direct devices are detectable without a SIM card and why other are not. It does not have to be an active SIM card either as it turns out.
Cheers.
