I would like to flash the ROM available here, forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s5/development/rom-stock-root-odex-knox-carrieriq-free-t2877511. But, I don't want to trip KNOX and so I can't install a custom recovery. Is this possible? I'm on stock NE6 that's just been towelrooted. I updated the modem and bootloader to NH5 using pc odin 3.09. Can I flash the rooted deodexed stock NH5 firmware that's posted here over it on mobile odin pro?
That one will trip knox.
You need to be on NE5, use towel root, then Mobile Odin to NH5 (stock). If you are on something newer than NE5, downgrade to it using PC ODIN first.
Mobile Odin will inject root into the firmware flash so you won't lose root in the process. You can not install custom recovery or any non-stock firmware without tripping knox.
But doesn't Mobile Odin trip Knox? I had purchased the pro version and started to let it install when it warned of tripping knox so I stopped it.
Thank you ctaranto.

Like mentioned by Ashraf, only ignore the warning if you are flashing an official Samsung firmware. Any other firmware, like those that have KNOX disabled as the OP mentioned, will trip KNOX.
Thanks for the answer. I've decided to hold off on any further tweaking on this phone for now.

The only way to root it is by ODIN (indirectly)
Just grab a ClockworkMod recovery ported for your device as ODIN flashable image (.img)
Go to odin. In your phone keep the home, vol + and power buttons pressed till it goes on download mode. In ODIN, choose the preloader and recovery and disable the reboot after flash. Press start. After it finishes, you can remove the battery and boot into CWM. From there flash SuperSu.zip update file (google for it). Reboot and congrats. Note that you may brick your device with ODIN. Please refer to video tuts for a step-by-step solution. Anyway, hope i helped.

Beware! Rooting your device using the aforementioned method WILL work, but will void your warranty by tripping KNOX WARRANTY VOID. It cannot be reset once tripped.

better to use philz recovery and for sure it must be through odin

only the indian firmware NJ2 and NK1 have this knox issue.

Hello,
I have a SM-G925F with an official firmware (G925FXXU1AOE3) and rooted with PingPong method.
As the title says, can i flash TWRP through Flashfire without triggering the knox ?
Second, can i flash a custom rom through Flashfire without modifying recovery/kernel and triggering the knox?

Sorry buddy but it's no and no. Attempting to install any custom recovery will trigger Knox and flash fire only automates the process and avoids you going into recovery mode it still requires a custom recovery to function.

What are you talking about ? i use flashfire, it doesnt require a custom recovery to function.
My idea is to change the rom (with a custom rom based on an official firmware") but to not touch to the recovery/kernel.
In this case, if i flash it through flashfire, Is it triggers knox?
I always confuse flashify with flashfire. You are correct. Sorry about the confusion.
Is this possible? I am new to samsung! Is this correct, you can flash a custom rom without tripping knox?
Just to be clear, with flashfire you can install twrp and custom kernels without tripping knox?
I haven't tried, but Knox isn't something that checks what you flash and then it's done. It even runs during boot. Whatever you will install to this phone, it will know and it will blow the eFuse if you try. The Software is extremely capable of detecting unofficial firmware. Same applies to flashing a kernel. The kernel will be permissive and not signed properly, which will set of the fuse before you can say "Knox Warranty void"
If I flash an official rom customised with a stock kernel like this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...xtrestolite-deodexed-mod-edition-1-3-t3119968
Are you sure the knox will be triggered ?

i tried to flash the twrp with flashify and my knox was triggered
I don't want to flash twrp ( I know it triggers knox), I just want to flash a rom, not the recovery, not the kernel.
And I talk about flash fire, not flashify.

I think so...even if you should be able to flash a rom with odin. I can't find anywhere a modded .tar rom

Did we ever get a concrete answer on this? I also would like to be able to flash a ROM with flashfire and NOT trip Knox. Has anybody done this successfully?
I just flashed twrp using Flashfire and can confirm that it will trigger knox!
Anybody who has tried to flash a ROM with Flashfire instead of a custom recovery?
I'm a noob to the android scene, anyway currrently I'm on 5.0.2 pingpong and I'm planning on updating it. Is there anything I should do before updating? Should I update? Is there anyway to safely downgrade?
Thanks in advance

If you update to 5.1.1 and you want to root your phone now it will trip your Knox counter... to do it you should first upgrade to an oficial FW using odin and them you can install twrp and flash custom kernel and supersu

What do you mean? Flashing anything with Odin will trip the Knox counter. This has always been like this. And to have root you need to flash via Odin so Knox will change to 0 x 1
Flashing an oficial firmware Will trĂp the counter I think no

Negative. Flashing anything except official Samsung packages via Odin will cause Knox Status 0x1.
KNOX etc? Is it as simple as Odin and flashing the DeoDEXED? Is there any OTA like Towel root I can use for this baseband. Again my phone is currently NOT rooted
Good morning my gentle people.
Recently I got the 6S Edge and naturally of course like every other XDA member I would like to customize it.
I've searched far and wide for more information but all I could find were just the definitions of words. I have multiple questions to ask;
Is there a safe way of rooting my phone? (With KNOX still intact please)
Is there a possibility to unlock the bootloader?
If I root/unlock my bootloader, are there any malfunctions in the behaviour of my phone afterwards?
Is it safe to flash anything when everything is still original? (no root, no unlocked bootloader)
Again some more info:
Buildnumber: MMB29K.G25FXXU4DPIL
Android OS: Marshmallow 6.0.1
KNOX: 2.6
Thanks for the help in advance.

Flash twrp first.
https://dl.twrp.me/zerolte/
Cf auto root to root your phone. Knox will be tripped.
https://autoroot.chainfire.eu
Then flash any custom roms or kernels through twrp.
