So I think have a problem with these noise cancelling earbuds (MDR-NC31E). They didn't came in the box. But since I got them they don't seem to work properly. They get recognized but I don't hear the difference, I can still hear noise on low/ medium volume. I've even read on the internet that they seems to be working fine on the forced on modus without even playing music music, and that doesn't seem to work too. What should I do? Flashing again, or is this hardware related?

Anyone else noticing really loud background noise when using a bluetooth headset? I have tried a couple different headsets and it's almost as if the noise cancelling isn't even working. I know the headsets work as I have used them on other phones with no problems. The background noise almost seems amplified to the point that people on the other end complain. What I hear on my end sounds completely normal though.
I'm having the exact same issue. Only happens with the Rezound. My N1 and RAZR work perfectly with the headset.
I'm not sure if it makes a difference but are you on stock GB or running a rom? Maybe someone can help you trouble shoot then
Stock and no issues with a Jabra speakerphone.
KORM via the beast known as the Rezound.
My Rezound is doing the same thing on my Pioneer in car bluetooth unit. I haven't tried since I updated to the newest ics rom.
Stock from for me.
Blue ant t1 and jawbone era. People on other end say I'm scratchy and loud. Agree is sounds like no sound cancelling.
Glad I'm not alone. Too bad I thought it was the t1 and bought an era.
It's more than just lack of noise canceling. I did a test at work by calling my desk phone. When i wasn't speaking, the gain would keep increasing until you could hear my officemate shuffling papers. Then when I'd speak, for a moment my voice was very distorted, and then the gain would drop and I'd be back to normal. As soon as I stopped speaking, the gain would start climbing back up.
I've used this headset with five other phones with no problem.
The phone is still stock. Now I need to decide whether to unlock and try a different rom, send it back for another one, or trade for my wife's maxx (she never uses a headset).

I really wanted to see if the ics roms had this prob but I also have a 3.8volt battery so that's out of the question for now.
my home was working fine this morning. but this after i cant hear someone calling, nor when i call them back can i hear them, unless isnt on loud speaker, or via headphones. I cant hear audio on youtube either or audio mp3 unless its through headphones. Any idea on how to fix this. It was the same when i got it back from them after i got repair for a yellow tint, but after restoring the phone it was ok. I done this but with no luck. So i restore the hardware manually?
I don't get your problem, but it feels like they left some unplugged wires, sound wires in this case. May that be the case?
I've run into an issue that's really stumping me here...
Some of my headphones seem to have a little "wiggle" room in the headphone port, i.e. they can move around a bit and sometimes the sound gets quieter...it doesn't cut out entirely, but the volume is ~halved.
When I test these headphones in my PC/other phone, I don't get this issue, and to top it off, some headphones don't even get the issue in my SII. It's confusing the hell out of me, and I don't know whether it's the headphones, or the SGSII.
If all of them work in everything else but some don't work in the phone, then I would think its the phone.
But what kind of issue causes some headphones to work, and some not? It's really confusing
Sony XB Headphones work for sure! Use one myself
Hello
Im having a problem with my s3 sound quality during a call, both with my bluetooth car kit and the phone speaker. On my bluetooth car kit, the sound is to low, even after i set it up to max on the phone and on the radio and the other person does hear me fine (it uses the mic from the car) but i can barely hear the other person.
The other issue is also during a call, if i put it to speaker ( which i did after i couldnt hear anything on bluetooth), the sound is still to low and i can barely understand what the other person is saying.
Its very annoying and its the first phone where this happens, even cheaper phones i had didn't had these issues. So i was wondering if anyone knows a solution for this? I thought of doing this sound mod- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722136 - but im not sure if it works and im also afraid to set the volume to high and break the speaker. I also thought about the "acid audio mod", but i think thats just for music quality.
Thank you for your time
I posted this on Reddit, but I think I might get better traction here.
I just picked up an LG v10 and when I got home, I did a factory reset.
I loaded up Google Play Music and plugged in some headphones. Things sounded fine... until I enabled the 32bit DAC (Hi-Fi). I almost blew an eardrum. It was static, nasty distorted sound and crackling. As soon as I disabled the DAC, it went away.
I tried 3 different pairs of headphones (Sennheiser Momenum On-ear, Fostex T50RP and ATH M50x) all with the same results. I began texting the seller to work it out when the next track started and things were fine!
I toggled the Hi-Fi on and off several times and things were good. Next track, a little crackle, then fine. I get a bit of crackle on track switches. I jiggled the headphone jack and it skipped to the next track, the gave the nasty crackling again. Pause, then play.. burst of static then fine.
I am pulling the battery now... same result. I am going to make sure i have all current updates, then do a factory reset. But need help identifying the problem. turning the headphone plug results in no static.
I have tried GPM, the stock LG music app, Poweramp Alpha, and all of them exhibit the same results.
Here is a link of the audio. I warn you now, TURN DOWN THE VOLUME!
I recorded without the DAC on, then on. I then tried to turn the volume down, then turn the DAC back on.

Thanks for any help anyone can give.
I hear an occasional click click noise, not interference like you got, but it's not something constant, so it did not bother me. I believe you should consult your warranty. Anything that is mass produced will have duds from time to time. there is nothing you can do about it.
