This thread is intended for concentrating all the bugs you find in the new L7 II KK stock ROM. This will help the good people here find solutions and/or create better ROMs based on this one
I'll start:
It seems that the notification LED is buggy. LED is lit in yellow when connected to a charger even if battery charging option is disabled. Then when trying to control the LED by enabling "Downloaded apps" with LED control apps such as Light Manager, LED doesn't seem to work properly (as it did in JB).
Mmmm
Hello everybody!
I think that someone experienced in ROMs (Really me not hahaha) need to clean this rom 'cuz there are a lot of things that makes KitKat work laggy or buggy sometimes, we'll appreciate it hahaha

yes thats true, led is buggy, and when i recieve a notification the led does not notify me of anything.
im using a flsable zip that i created by following a tutorial,my base rom is from v20a europe open kdz file, and everything worlks for me ,except for the led,and for some other people that live in my same city cant make or receive phone calls and with the sms its the same thing.

For me LED notification light works perfectly fine, though yellow color appears sometime for no reason, but it isn't as annoying as it was on Jelly Bean.
Although, I noticed that stability this ROM offers is rather inferior. I'll start to work on V20a kernel from today, because LG always screws with kernels from my experience.
Good thing that we don't need any porting work.

Always use third party launcher, like Nova and etc.
Think of this: all things LG included is named as bloatware by my book. So delete them and avoid them.
Regarding the notification led problem, I would like to ask anyone here with p710 to check whether this issue happens there as well. Just wanna make sure this is not a compatibility issue between the p710 rom and the p714 hardware. Otherwise, I really can't understand how LG would release a stock rom with such a fundemental feature not working well.

With some effort, it is possible to fix such problem.
I'll add this to my to-do list.

I would be awesome if you try to improve this kernel rom, cuz I agree with you.
Yes, I deleted all the LG things that come, and used Nova Launcher, but it wasn't as smooth as in Jellybean, the transition were laggy. To use KitKat I'll wait for a rom. Thanks for answering me!
My phone is p713 using p710 stock rom. Here is my problem:
1. Open NFC Tap and pay in setting causing force close.
2. lgNfc.apk causing high cpu usage
3. Can't turn on Bluetooth in status bar or quick toggle in setting, sometimes causing bootloop/restart. I can only turn on bluetooth from 'Bluetooth tether' toggle in sub setting.
4. Some language is not available, especially mine Bahasa Indonesia/Indonesian language.
Some news I gathered:
Looks like GPU clock scaling is screwed. Jelly Bean didn't had such problems, and scrolling was smoother than on Kitkat. I will try to add additional GPU clocks and see if such problem would dissapear.
I think I'll drop my compiled kernel link in this thread, if it gives better results, so that anyone could test it.

Just delete that lgnfc.apk and high cpu usage will dissapear, if you have root, of course.
RAM managmend is sh**.
It closes Opera mini which still has few MBs.
No apps running in background etc...
Some bad news,
I've succesfully added some additional GPU clocks and is runs a bit better, but the thing is: after compiling the kernel, wi-fi stops working. And no matter, if original or my kernel is running, logcat shows ton of errors about adreno 200.
EDIT:
Found a solution how to bypass vermagic checking. Now WI-FI is Working. Will post kernel here. :>
Just flash it through CWM and you're good to go. :>
Great job, but do you know any ways to have root&cwm without having to flash the whole system again? It would be delightful

I'll look into it.
Anyway, I think it's possible to integrate both su binary and Superuser.apk into the ramdisk. Don't know, if it gonna work, but will try out.
Love having GPU clocked at 400 Mhz and getting Temple Run 2 run smoother.
That would be cool, but right now I'm on stock KK, and cannot reach recovery anyways your work on the kernel is just awesome, I don't know anything about working with kernels.
An idea: maybe you could add some CPU governors like smartassV2, interactiveX, hyper
Microphone Problem
I have a microphone problem. After the V20A update, other person can't hear my voice unless I quickly double touch "Speaker" on the screen.
Actually I had this problem on Jelly Bean as well but on Jelly Bean I was using Soundabout app in which you can disable wired headset microphone detection. On Kitkat, this function doesn't work. A year ago I sent my P710 to warranty because of this problem. They changed motherboard and microphone but the problem is persistent. The fact that I solved this problem in the past by using an app gives me the idea that this problem is related to software not hardware.
So is it only me or are you experiencing this problem as well? Do we have any solution to this? I am really frustrated and considering to buy a new phone guys...

Me neither. I just use some tutorials just to progress further with my kernel project.
I'll quickly add some more governors, since it is not a big deal.
The hardest thing to do was to find how to bypass vermagic checking, but now everything is much easier.
I've succesfully raised kernel version to 3.4.1. Now compiling 3.4.2. :>

This problem was in Jelly Bean as well. Looks like people got lazy at LG and didn't fix it. Well, we'll look how to fix this.
Update:
I've succesfully upped the kernel version upto 3.4.2 (Android shows 3.4.1, but I've patched with 3.4.2, so don't mind this), Wi-Fi still working strong.
Added Superuser with su binaries to kernel ramdisk. When you flash this kernel, you'll have root (need testing), because mine is already rooted.
I've included full ext4, ntfs support.
NOTE:
We can pronounce this kernel as an alpha version, because much things aren't implemented and some bugs aren't fixed. USE WITH CAUTION!

just want to say that LG´s Gingerbread release (v20c, v20g, v20e,...) is biggest sh... ever!
- ugly, unaligned icons in statusbar
- very bad battery life -> phone doesn´t sleep very well (it´s always active - so battery life is bad)
- sluggish menus
- problems with proximity sensor (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jAmMgh0uY8)
- first 2~3 seconds of a call the microphone doesn´t work
- apps which use files on SD-Card and need read&write privileges most probably crash
The same problem for me but after i rooted the phone seem is better, at leat with the batery.

LG gb is a disaster. But I benefitted accidently and immensely from it. Lol. I got libbundlewrapper.so file for audio effects. Lol, I could have had this file from any gb rom in the android universe.
My cm7 is now complete with this file and I am enjoying cm7.
Top notch music, rocket speed, visually satisfying theming, excellent 3d, useful cm settings, internet. That's what I need. And, CM has it all.

LOL We should thank LG for atleast providing us such files, and already thank given to you for the idea of those files.
Somehow I feel you cant expect much from a low end phone but as devs say LG is **** with software development.
LG´s 2.2.2 was ok, but 2.3.3 is pure ****...
i don´t understand why they released it (everything is worse than in 2.2.2).
...unbelievable.

I've been trying a few apps that before worked fine, and now it doesn't.
I contacted the devs of one of the apps, which kindly told me it was a problem with my phone because of this error... (taken from the error report)
Code:
"attempt to write a readonly database"
So, any app which uses files in SD and need read&write privileges, most probably it wont work

Totally agree with the topic's author. Especially with this problem:
- very bad battery life -> phone doesn´t sleep very well (it´s always active - so battery life is bad)
Any ideas how to fix it? As I have everything stock and have rooted the phone... Which option would be better: leave stock rom and flash, for example, franco's kernel? I don't want to change the rom, because I am satisfied with the stock one, but that battery problem drives me vrazy
Or maybe try to go back to 2.2 ?
Anyway, all possible solutions are welcome...
Thank you!
@up - use [APP] BetterBatteryStats to see which process wakelock your's phone.
If You use 3G/HSDPA data connection there is next bug in Gingerbread - DataTracker-FastDormancy will always awake phone - see Brainstorming: how to completely disable DataTracker-FD and Fast Dormancy (but this metod work only when You do not turn on data).
FastDormancy not turn off even when you turn off data, and make your phone always awake (in my phone i get 5% draining battery in 1,5h when not use).

Wow, now it is much more clear after your reply! Yes, I use 3G, and often notice, that battery drain occurs after using internet and turning it off...And after that, in battery monitor I always see uninterrupted blue line... Now it's clear.
However, I haven't tried the BetterBatteryStats. Now I am going to install it and see what I would get I can't live without 3G on the phone...So don't know what to do if there are no any other solutions...
UPDATE: Yes, You were right. The battery drain cause was by DataTracker-FD. I disabled Fast Dormancy and will see how it will behave in the future.

don´t believe you:
at least this one you must have:
-ugly, unaligned icons in statusbar (WIFI and GPS buttons are not in same line as others)
http://666kb.com/i/bvriyviv18mpz82ky.jpg
Only the unaligend icons in the Dutch version. I did not experience any of the other bugs.
gingerbread has much better performance than froyo
I have been using this ROM for some time now, and since the update allowing super user its has worked rather well,
I was wondering if anyone can post some fixes for the following problems (I'm a new user so I cannot post on the development page),
the audio does not work with headphones, I have tried many different types but it will simply play music out loud with or without headphones,
the inbuilt themes, I can download them and apply them but the theme will not change,
poor 3g connection, very tempremental but usable, (I did not have this issue with cm9 mini, cm7 or prime)
wifi - it can detect wifi but when I attempt to connect it is a failure, could this possible be due to my router ??
rotation - auto rotate does not work making it slightly harder to use on-screen keyboard
I can confirm a good battery life, specially in comparison to cm9,
runes smoothly, good battery life and smooth interface with 748MHz-19MHz [smartassV2] overclocking
If any one can make and update.zip or send me specific .apk's ect to fix any of these issues please do so, further more I would like for someone to post the issue of the headphones not being recognized on the actual thread,

I have the latest ICS kernel installed and it worked fine with nAn's CM9 port but it very temperamental on miui, my on screen keyboard will not appear at times whilst other times it works relatively well or my screen will not wake after it is unlocked (i will be able to unlock the screen and click on apps but the screen is completely off) the only way I can fix it is locking and unlocking the screen multiple times so it catches up :S
but by far the headphone jack not recognizing any of my headphones including the standard set you get with the phone is my biggest issue, I love my music, the issues hasn't been mentioned on the ROM page so I'm unaware if its just effecting me, which would mean I've done something wrong or it is an actual bug that has been overlooked
thank you for the quick response by the way :good:
There is another MIUI rom, by stelios97, where the headphones don't work either, but he suggests a workaround Take a look here and see if that fixes your problem.

Q: I flashed CM10.1 but my GPS won't lock. Is there a solution?
A: Absolutely!
(Optional) Use TitaniumBackup to backup your apps+data
Use Recovery to Backup your current state (System, Data, Boot)
Flash a Sense ROM of any kind (I use MeanBean)
(Don't forget to do your wipes, of course)
*Once booted into a Sense ROM*
Make sure your GPS is turned ON and open up Google Maps
Wait for your GPS to lock
Reboot into Recovery and Restore your Backup
(Don't forget to do your wipes, of course)
*Once booted back onto your CM10.1*
Make sure GPS is turned ON and open up Google Maps
Your GPS should now lock.
Q: I noticed screen tearing (glitch-like symptoms) on my CM10.1. Is there a solution?
A: Absolutely!
Go into Developer Options
Scroll down to "Disable HW Overlays"
Check the box to disable
Screen tearing is now gone.
NOTE! You will need to do this on each reboot!
Q: Developer Options don't exist on my CM10.1. Is it hidden?
A: Kind of.
Go into About
Scroll all the way down and tap the build 7 times
You will notice a message saying Developer Options was unlocked.
Q: How do I get the Play Store on my CM10X?
A: You'll need to download a compatible GApps (Google Apps
You can find the latest GApps in this thread
Q: Why isn't my WiFi connecting?
A: That issue is usually caused by your router. Simply reset or unplug your router for 15 seconds and try again.
Q: I installed an AOSP kernel and my phone has been rebooting. Why is that?
A: The kernel may not be supported with your current ROM.
Some kernels have a voltage script provided by the builder. Ask the developer if there is one available.
You can also download Kernel Tuner from the Play Store to change voltage.
Q: Voltage? Kernel Tuner? What now...?
A: Within' Kernel Tuner you will want to go into Voltage and use the "All +12.5 mV" which will up the Voltage in all areas. I found that having 192MHz at 900mV will make CM10.1 plenty stable while not affecting battery life significantly. ROM and Kernel may very. Do some Trial and Error to see what is suitable for you
Q: My internal storage says I have less than I really should. Did I ruin my internal SD Card?
A: No. Don't panic.
All you need to do is Wipe your Internal Storage.
Backup your files if you don't want to lose them, of course.
Problem should be solved.
Issue usually occurs when flashing from Sense to AOSP or flashing numerous ROM's in a short period of time.
Q: Where can I find the latest Deck Builds?
A: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2110920
You can also check the iRC channel (info in the thread above)
Also, search Google for "CM10 EVO LTE irc" and click the first link
Q: Should I flash Nightly Builds or Deck's Builds?
A: Nightly Builds are official CM builds which don't include all of Deck's maintenance, tweaks, etc... You'll find that Deck's Builds just happen to be more stable.
I feel like this was a waste of time. Lol.

That is pretty weird. I had that problem on the EVO 3D before. Were you or are you using any custom kernel, kernel tuner, or scripts at all?
I know, too, that the battery does seem to drain a bit fast at first but then it gets more subtle. MeanBean has been draining me worse than CM10.1 right now.

MeanBean has never treated me well on battery life no matter what I do. Not on my replacement anyway. On my other LTEvo it was working great. But... CM10.1's battery life shouldn't be that bad. Could always use Kernel Tuner to manage the CPU and Gov. a bit. Trial and error until you find a satisfied combination. I generally use Ondemand as opposed the interactive. I noticed Ondemand gave me better battery life. Haven't done much with the CPU speeds in a while so I'm not going to be too much help there... I also use System Panel to monitor apps, system, memory, and use its built-in task killer.

How to disable shutter sound?
In older versions of CM there used to be an option in system settings to disable the shutter sound in the camera app. I can't seem to find any options either in the camera settings or in the system settings for this in CM10.1. Anyone know if this is there or not? Or is it coming in a future version?

Thanks for putting this post together. I have always used Sense but have been wanting to try a CM10.1 ROM. This information is very helpful.
A question that I have is what bugs or issues are currently associated with CM10.1? Most of the CM10.1 ROMs under Bug List say "Any bugs currently in latest CM10.1." Is there a centralized place that lists all of the issues? Thanks.

A question that I have is what bugs or issues are currently associated with CM10.1? Most of the CM10.1 ROMs under Bug List say "Any bugs currently in latest CM10.1." Is there a centralized place that lists all of the issues? Thanks.

The only thing I noticed going wrong was my background will occasionally disappear (go black). Sometimes it will pulsate or strobe. Only happens when I sleep the phone while in Messages, and wake the phone. After unlocking, the background will either be black, be black for a while and all of the sudden pop my background image back up, or just act normal. I have no customizations or anything so I'm not sure why this occurs. Otherwise, the Vertical orientation option for the App Drawer is still messy as it always has been. That's all I've noticed but I haven't tested the music player yet .

In older versions of CM there used to be an option in system settings to disable the shutter sound in the camera app. I can't seem to find any options either in the camera settings or in the system settings for this in CM10.1. Anyone know if this is there or not? Or is it coming in a future version?

I had some trouble with apps wakelocking (for lack of a better word) when I first installed CM10.1. You can identify some of those with the wakelock detector app.

Power Shutter? If so, that's in the Camera app settings. Click the bottom-right screen-button and choose the bottom-center settings screen-button. I also have apps that'll randomly open when I wake the phone but I figured that was just because of the phone being in my pocket, turning on, and going to the app. It will open to the clock.

Actually, not referring to Power-Shutter. I'm referring to the actual sound that is made when you take a photo. It's a bit jarring/annoying to have it "dleep!" when I take photos. Back in CM7 I remember that we could turn that sound off.

I looked everywhere and couldn't find an option. I really don't have the time to dig further into the actual coding either, unfortunately.

And as you'll find stated numerous times: the latest touchpanel firmware isn't yet supported with most, if not all, AOSP ROM's. S-OFF, which will make you downgrade, and you'll be able to use your AOSP ROM's. And then you can update to the latest firmware minus the tp update.

Agreed, GPS locks seem slow. Might be what we are stuck with given the cm12 fix.
Havent been on any other gproj ROMs to compare.
Google camera
Does all functions work in the google camera (panorama, photo sphere and lens blur)? Right now I'm using CM12 official with Solid Kernel and only regular photo and video is working.

Sure, go and find something not working why don't you.
I hadn't tried any of them. Sphere and pano only show black screens, apparently not working. Lens blur is functional

Actually, that's a problem with all the lollipop roms that I have tried for the e970 (and most of the KK, except for some the MAKO based). Seems that our camera is quite difficult to please....
BTW dandrumheller, it seems that you have tried most of the roms out there for our device, which one did you find more stable? At the time I'm using the official CM12 with Solid Kernel and in my opinion is really good (except for the camera and the bluetooth address, which aren't dealer breakers for me). Thanks.

I actually haven't tried many of the Lp roms. Candy5 has been the most stable and battery efficient for me. Had some issues with bsod on beanstalk 5.0, though 4.4 versions were excellent. Blisspop has been quite stable, but uninspiring in terms of battery life. My phone hates solid kernel - tons of freeze and crash issues. In general I seem to have better luck with mako based roms. Have not tried CM12 yet.

Cool. I might try Candy5 and see how it goes. Thanks for you answers!
I'm having an issue where the contact names aren't showing up in the stock messenger, or gosms (haven't tried at other). The full number shows, but never the names. I've tried clearing caches and data on contacts and messengers. Tried resyncing the contacts from Google. I've double checked the privacy guard settings. Basically, I've searched around and tried everything I can think of, but still no luck! So I figured I'd ask the experts! Any ideas???
Ive noticed a few other minor issues. ...
I've had the problem with not being able to move the download, as someone mentioned above. Ive had to connect to PC, transfer from phones internal storage to the PC, then back to EXT SD card in the phone.
The 2/13 build does seem to be a little harder on the battery, and runs a lil warm (also mentioned above). I haven't had any crashing issues, but can feel the temp difference over the average.
Possibley related to the heat and battery issues; I noticed that there are two interfaces for the CPU/GPU clocking and scheduling, under the Performance section of System Settings. Maybe there's a conflict happening there? From memory, I don't remember the "Device Control" section being there in the previous build. It seems redundant to have both. Although Device Settings is much more robust, and I would prefer it be integrated instead of keeping the old, minimal interface. Some adjustments to Device Settings, while disabling the other minimal settings on boot, seems to have helped with heat and battery drain a little bit.
No problems with GPS, that I've noticed
Titanium Backup v6 has problem gaining root access in all cm12 ROMs I've tried. To fix, go to Titanium BU Preferences, scroll to bottom, select Troubleshoot Options (or something like that), and highlight/select the option to force the app to use the SYSTEM busybox, not the one baked into Titanium BU. Restart the app, and root works. Also worth mentioning is that you may have to enable root access under Developer Options in System Settings before any app can gain root. Otherwise, no issues with root, or Super SU.
Hi,
After using Beanstalk 4.4 for several months, finally I tried first LP based ROM BlissPop...so far it seem good, only couple of crashes in last week, few issues are present that are highlighted already (like camera panorama not working...battery life affected).
Since last couple days, the strange issue is being encountered, when i get a call, phone rings but there is no interface to receive the call, i then have to go to call screen and there it says "return to the active call" when i click, i get to the screen where i can receive the call. This started happening without any updates so not sure what caused it? I even tried latest version of ROM but same issue present.
Any ideas?
P.S: thanks to everybody who contributes to this excellent site, i have been a regular reader of the site but got to post something today for the first time.

Okay, it turned out to be a feature that some one must have activated on my cell (my little kiddo likes to tinker with my cell)
In App Notification section, Dialer was blocked and that was causing it to not show up whenever i got a call.
Its working great now

system control issue
I went through all 9 pages of the thread and didnt notice anyone else having this issue. In 2.2 under performance and then system control app when one goes to features and then vibration intensity it just force closes on me...is anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions on what I can do to fix?
So I'd like to see what was being discussed in the normal thread for this great rom but the following link isn't working and since I'm a forum baby I'm not allowed to post in the grownup thread... Can anyone help me out with this? Does anyone check this side of the thread?

Also, the last build(the one before latest) ... The vibration control in performance>device control was fixed and working.... In the latest build it's broken once again and force closing every time I select it. Just wanted to mention in case no one is aware of it.
So if 4.8.15 is the latest build why does the ota update app found in the app drawer ask me to update to the latest version so my configuration will be appropriate for ota updates? Is there something specific I have to do in order for that feature to work properly?
Lol is this thing on?
In the latest build, was the performance tab in settings cut out of the build?

It contained the free app that allowed you to do all kinds of different things with the phone...I forget what it was called....I know part of the file name was x.nameless rom.com
You can try kenvinjoa kernel or nitro kernel

Hi @opendata
I've been using your ROM since the release yesterday, and it's damn smooth!
But I've found some bugs (not listed in the main thread)
- Vibrations works for calls or for notifications, but the keyboard doesn't vibrate at all when pressing keys
- In WhatsApp audios, after first 2-3 seconds, voice won't be captured anymore, practically voice notes in WhatsApp are unusable (I've found this also in RR N)
- Android Oreo comes with dynamic overlays built in, but even if I apply a theme without any error on the log, the theme itself won't be applied anywhere ( neither apps not SystemUi or Settings)
- without tweaks to the kernel, the device gets hot very quickly, removing hot plugs and adding the thermal limiter (sultanxda) will fix this
Anyway, thanks a ton for your work, keep it up!
