[DISCUSSION] [8.x.x] Lineage OS | LOS-15.0 [sirius] - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

To stop the development thread from getting overcrowded all questions, bugs and any general feedback should be posted here

Hi @opendata
I've been using your ROM since the release yesterday, and it's damn smooth!
But I've found some bugs (not listed in the main thread)
- Vibrations works for calls or for notifications, but the keyboard doesn't vibrate at all when pressing keys
- In WhatsApp audios, after first 2-3 seconds, voice won't be captured anymore, practically voice notes in WhatsApp are unusable (I've found this also in RR N)
- Android Oreo comes with dynamic overlays built in, but even if I apply a theme without any error on the log, the theme itself won't be applied anywhere ( neither apps not SystemUi or Settings)
- without tweaks to the kernel, the device gets hot very quickly, removing hot plugs and adding the thermal limiter (sultanxda) will fix this
Anyway, thanks a ton for your work, keep it up!

Any way to install Xposed Frameworks kind of add-ons/Frameworks? I have recently shifted from Resurrection Remix so am missing many in built features on lineage.

[Q] questions on [ROM]MIUI v4-2.6.22 for X10 Mini Pro |Released| 26/6/12

I have been using this ROM for some time now, and since the update allowing super user its has worked rather well,
I was wondering if anyone can post some fixes for the following problems (I'm a new user so I cannot post on the development page),
the audio does not work with headphones, I have tried many different types but it will simply play music out loud with or without headphones,
the inbuilt themes, I can download them and apply them but the theme will not change,
poor 3g connection, very tempremental but usable, (I did not have this issue with cm9 mini, cm7 or prime)
wifi - it can detect wifi but when I attempt to connect it is a failure, could this possible be due to my router ??
rotation - auto rotate does not work making it slightly harder to use on-screen keyboard
I can confirm a good battery life, specially in comparison to cm9,
runes smoothly, good battery life and smooth interface with 748MHz-19MHz [smartassV2] overclocking
If any one can make and update.zip or send me specific .apk's ect to fix any of these issues please do so, further more I would like for someone to post the issue of the headphones not being recognized on the actual thread,
Make sure to have NAA kernel 11 installed.

I have the latest ICS kernel installed and it worked fine with nAn's CM9 port but it very temperamental on miui, my on screen keyboard will not appear at times whilst other times it works relatively well or my screen will not wake after it is unlocked (i will be able to unlock the screen and click on apps but the screen is completely off) the only way I can fix it is locking and unlocking the screen multiple times so it catches up :S
but by far the headphone jack not recognizing any of my headphones including the standard set you get with the phone is my biggest issue, I love my music, the issues hasn't been mentioned on the ROM page so I'm unaware if its just effecting me, which would mean I've done something wrong or it is an actual bug that has been overlooked
thank you for the quick response by the way :good:
There is another MIUI rom, by stelios97, where the headphones don't work either, but he suggests a workaround Take a look here and see if that fixes your problem.

ICS development and testing

By the hardwork of Whizkins and x1123 we now got the alpha version of the ICS rom of our dell venue.
All credits goes to Whizkins,x1123 for thier ROMS and Kernel development,
adridu59 for kernel and TheManii and kibukka for thier valuable suggestions and feedback.
EDIT: New Updated version of the ICS rom released by whizkins today.
Original thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002361
Download the rom from below link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002361
Flashing Procedure:
Visiti the Rom thread for Procedure of flashing
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002361
Warning: This rom still in beta stage and reuires modification till now. But you can use this as a daily rom.
please post testing feedback suggestion and development releated post here.
USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK IF SOMETHING WRONG HAPPENS DEVS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE AT ALL.
While posting what not working do a logcat while triggering the event and post it along with ur post. This will help devs to identify whats wrong cause simply saying this is not working wont lead to anywhere.
So I request do a logcat while reporting bugs.
reserved
What is working /not working:
1. boot animation need resizing
2.wifi works but the color of the wifi doesnt change to blue it remains grey
above two is not an issue at all.
3. USSD code doesnt work. ===> fix: flash the ussd fix zip file for gingerbread rom posted by Themanii previously.
4.Mobile data doest work at all. some problem i guess. u can not create apn. i tried with tweakker application but strangely it says:
your sim card can not be used. make sure u have sim card and a proper gsm signal. you cannot use this application in airplane mode. but the phone already have the sim card and i can make call with it.
5. There is no ringtone sound during incoming call. if u use the headset fix kernel u will get the sound via headset but not via phone speaker.
same applicable in case of any notification,
6 .Wifi and usb tethering not working.( im sure it will work with 3rd party app from market)
7. And as the OP says headset and camera doesnt work. but if u flash the headset fix u can get the headset working but power button will stop functioning . so in case restart/shutdown use 3rd party application otherwise pull out your battery
8. Automatic brightness not working.
9. am/pm style not working under settings. it will not show anything either am or pm.
10. Led flashlight not working.
11. gallery>any photo>edit>face glow/ face tan produces force closes.
12, wifi will wont show any network until u add one ssid manually.

More testing please GPS .... for speaker my suspect is phoenix patch for DS .... should be Not Necessary for DV
Hey x1123, thanks for all the hard work you and your fellow devs have done for the DV scene:good::good:, you are an inspiration of hope to many stuck on froyo / gingerbread and enviously want ICS.
As I am a new member, I cannot post in the dev forum, could you please post the following in the thread on my behalf, so that we can work together to build a stable rom and kernel.
Using the ICS kernel and CM9 rom I have encountered several bugs;
The camera doesn't connect - I haven't tried the MIUI camera app to see if it works, but as of now it doesn't.
Mobile Internet from UK carrier (3) doesn't work, Wifi on the other hand does.
Google search doesn't work, so I flashed ICS GAPPS to make it work, and install the play store - Play Store doesn't download any apps?? Might be GAPPS, wrong market app, or kernel.. I dunno.
Home Button doesn't work, but it seems to highlight the top most option, and pressing back key occasionally shows green square over icons.
Google Login, under Dev tools app seems to crash.
Touchscreen isn't as smooth, sometimes laggy, maybe Hardware acceleration, or frame rate or drivers???
Battery life seems to rapidly decrease, more than stock and CM7,
No sound from speakers or headphones when playing music or calling (always shows mute button). Also mute toggle does nothing to the phone's sound/vibration/mute.
No mic input when making calls.
(maybe its software or related to the gaps i flashed but Apollo Music play doesn't play music off sd card and skips repeatedly to several songs)
Some of these bugs maybe kernel, some may be rom... I'm no expert, but I'm willing to help test and provide feedback and support :good:
Thanks again for your help and time, we as a community appreciate it

- mutekey ... my kernel is build-in this should be not necessary I think this caused the device mute all times
- camera ... This should be handled at the last, since tweaking camera is hard due to related to (AFAIK) proprietary binary
FROM KERNEL BUILD PROCESS
Code:
drivers/media/video/msm/ov8810_abico.o
drivers/media/video/msm/ov8810_semco.o
probably we can get drivers from chipset provider ....

For the camera, you guys will need new libs for ICS. That is proprietary code so you must either ask manufacturer to release them or find similar libs from other devices.

camera always Big Thing on CM rom ... btw any idea related to the phone Totally Mute All Times ... I suspected this is libsoundpool.so ... the error is AudioFlinger can not create audio track ... ...
I got the audio working. Here's a list of things that need attention right now:
* Home button not working (It's being mapped as the MOVE_HOME key), I'm using the surf_keypad.kcm file from CM7
* Video doesn't work (Probably needs OMX libraries)
* Soft button lights don't work (Need to port liblights?)
* Accelerometer doesn't rotate back to portrait from landscape
* Battery Drain
EDIT: Headset is not working, sound just comes from the speaker even when headset is plugged in
And probably a lot of other things like Camera but I'll look into the camera later
If anyone has any suggestions for these, please let me know
Battery drain might be a kernel issue.
And what did u change for audio working?

Good News. For audio, if possible you can build without soundpool ... soundpool is great but causing exhausting of memory and on certain device the mapping got weird.
Code:
* Home button not working (It's being mapped as the MOVE_HOME key), I'm using the surf_keypad.kcm file from CM7
* Video doesn't work (Probably needs OMX libraries)
* Soft button lights don't work (Need to port liblights?)
all above about library ... I'm preparing my kitchen with dell overlay from DSC in my CM-9 three looks what I will have.
for video : I ddid not know how android codecs working
Code:
* Accelerometer doesn't rotate back to portrait from landscape
* Battery Drain
EDIT: Headset is not working, sound just comes from the speaker even when headset is plugged in
If u use my build kernel : I switch off Portrait Fix patch by phoenix at dsc source I will rebuild with switch on this option.
Speker always on is also phoenix patch will try rebuild with this option off
Battery Drain is lightssensors.so need to be re-baked.
can u give us the libs or whole rom with audio function

[BUGS] - Nexus 10 - KRT160 (4.4)

* - Let's seperate out the bugs.
* - Stock only please. If you're running a custom ROM - DO NOT POST HERE.
* - This isn't a help thread about installing updates...
* - If you think you found a bug it is VITALLY important you list steps to reproduce the bug.. If others can't reproduce it.. It's not a bug.
* - Also do not report anything if you have GEL installed. GEL is not "stock" for the N10 and any problems are not KRT160 problems.
Bugs
-----------------------
Please star and confirm it there if you can to get this item noticed:
1. Nexus 10 - KRT160 - Homescreen not redrawing Google Search if you flick items off instead of dragging to remove
2. Settings force close if you have evernote installed and click on its icon in settings and clicking the Evernote account
I always wanted to reserve..
Bug #1 has also been confirmed on the Nexus 7 Original.

Confirmed..
Hey developers.. Would you consider this an Android problem or a developers app not compatible with 4.4 problem?
I would report this to the app developer. He will be able to file a more detailed bug report if not fix it himself
I cannot drag and drop app icon from App drawer to the Home screen. Every time I try this I just load the app. It doesn't matter for how long I'm holding the app icon. Maybe this is due to the low battery, which is doubtful. Reboot doesn't help. Please kindly let me know if I'm not the only one with such weirdness.
This is definitely some malfunction since per Android 4.4 User Guide (http://www.google.com/help/hc/images/android/android_ug_42/Android-Quick-Start-Guide.pdf):
To add an app icon to a Home screen:
1. Go to the Home screen where you want to place the app.
2. Touch theAll Apps icon.
3. Swipe from right to left, if necessary, to find the app you want.
4. Touch & hold the app until the Home screen appears, slide it into place, and lift your finger
Edit:
Found out that this only happens when the device is plugged with USB cable. Maybe this is a feature not a bug...

Has anyone noticed that since the upgrade to 4.4 that your device is staying awake? Seems to be caused by Android system. It doesn't sleep anymore and it's draining my battery because of this. Anyone found out what the problem is? I read on another forum that it's being caused by the Google Keyboard that is shipped with 4.4, if I change the keyboard with the 1,2,3 layout, will this solve the battery drain issue? This is weird man......
Thanks for the replies!

Haven't had a look at battery stats or anything but I got over 6 hours screen on time yesterday, so I can't say i've got a problem with battery life
Here's a screenshot I made. To verify it, I disabled the keyboard for a moment, and indeed, the device went to sleep. I then re-enabled the keyboard and again the device won't sleep! Without use I lost 5% of my battery in just 30 minutes. Anyone knows how I can update the keyboard with the newest version?
I think I solved the problem. I turned off Hotword detection under Google Now settings, and then Voice. Seems to have done the trick! Now when the screen is switched off the device goes to sleep. This is weird though, it should switch off when the screen is off but it doesn't! So, I think this is a legitimate bug that needs fixing! Can someone give this a try and report back if this solution helped?

[L7 II][KK] Post all L7 II KK stock ROM bugs here

This thread is intended for concentrating all the bugs you find in the new L7 II KK stock ROM. This will help the good people here find solutions and/or create better ROMs based on this one
I'll start:
It seems that the notification LED is buggy. LED is lit in yellow when connected to a charger even if battery charging option is disabled. Then when trying to control the LED by enabling "Downloaded apps" with LED control apps such as Light Manager, LED doesn't seem to work properly (as it did in JB).
Mmmm
Hello everybody!
I think that someone experienced in ROMs (Really me not hahaha) need to clean this rom 'cuz there are a lot of things that makes KitKat work laggy or buggy sometimes, we'll appreciate it hahaha

For me LED notification light works perfectly fine, though yellow color appears sometime for no reason, but it isn't as annoying as it was on Jelly Bean.
Although, I noticed that stability this ROM offers is rather inferior. I'll start to work on V20a kernel from today, because LG always screws with kernels from my experience.
Good thing that we don't need any porting work.

Always use third party launcher, like Nova and etc.
Think of this: all things LG included is named as bloatware by my book. So delete them and avoid them.
Regarding the notification led problem, I would like to ask anyone here with p710 to check whether this issue happens there as well. Just wanna make sure this is not a compatibility issue between the p710 rom and the p714 hardware. Otherwise, I really can't understand how LG would release a stock rom with such a fundemental feature not working well.

Think of this: all things LG included is named as bloatware by my book. So delete them and avoid them.

I would be awesome if you try to improve this kernel rom, cuz I agree with you.
Yes, I deleted all the LG things that come, and used Nova Launcher, but it wasn't as smooth as in Jellybean, the transition were laggy. To use KitKat I'll wait for a rom. Thanks for answering me!
My phone is p713 using p710 stock rom. Here is my problem:
1. Open NFC Tap and pay in setting causing force close.
2. lgNfc.apk causing high cpu usage
3. Can't turn on Bluetooth in status bar or quick toggle in setting, sometimes causing bootloop/restart. I can only turn on bluetooth from 'Bluetooth tether' toggle in sub setting.
4. Some language is not available, especially mine Bahasa Indonesia/Indonesian language.
Some news I gathered:
Looks like GPU clock scaling is screwed. Jelly Bean didn't had such problems, and scrolling was smoother than on Kitkat. I will try to add additional GPU clocks and see if such problem would dissapear.
I think I'll drop my compiled kernel link in this thread, if it gives better results, so that anyone could test it.

Just delete that lgnfc.apk and high cpu usage will dissapear, if you have root, of course.
RAM managmend is sh**.
It closes Opera mini which still has few MBs.
No apps running in background etc...
Some bad news,
I've succesfully added some additional GPU clocks and is runs a bit better, but the thing is: after compiling the kernel, wi-fi stops working. And no matter, if original or my kernel is running, logcat shows ton of errors about adreno 200.
EDIT:
Found a solution how to bypass vermagic checking. Now WI-FI is Working. Will post kernel here. :>
Just flash it through CWM and you're good to go. :>
Great job, but do you know any ways to have root&cwm without having to flash the whole system again? It would be delightful

I'll look into it.
Anyway, I think it's possible to integrate both su binary and Superuser.apk into the ramdisk. Don't know, if it gonna work, but will try out.
Love having GPU clocked at 400 Mhz and getting Temple Run 2 run smoother.
That would be cool, but right now I'm on stock KK, and cannot reach recovery anyways your work on the kernel is just awesome, I don't know anything about working with kernels.
An idea: maybe you could add some CPU governors like smartassV2, interactiveX, hyper
Microphone Problem
I have a microphone problem. After the V20A update, other person can't hear my voice unless I quickly double touch "Speaker" on the screen.
Actually I had this problem on Jelly Bean as well but on Jelly Bean I was using Soundabout app in which you can disable wired headset microphone detection. On Kitkat, this function doesn't work. A year ago I sent my P710 to warranty because of this problem. They changed motherboard and microphone but the problem is persistent. The fact that I solved this problem in the past by using an app gives me the idea that this problem is related to software not hardware.
So is it only me or are you experiencing this problem as well? Do we have any solution to this? I am really frustrated and considering to buy a new phone guys...

Me neither. I just use some tutorials just to progress further with my kernel project.
I'll quickly add some more governors, since it is not a big deal.
The hardest thing to do was to find how to bypass vermagic checking, but now everything is much easier.
I've succesfully raised kernel version to 3.4.1. Now compiling 3.4.2. :>

This problem was in Jelly Bean as well. Looks like people got lazy at LG and didn't fix it. Well, we'll look how to fix this.
Update:
I've succesfully upped the kernel version upto 3.4.2 (Android shows 3.4.1, but I've patched with 3.4.2, so don't mind this), Wi-Fi still working strong.
Added Superuser with su binaries to kernel ramdisk. When you flash this kernel, you'll have root (need testing), because mine is already rooted.
I've included full ext4, ntfs support.
NOTE:
We can pronounce this kernel as an alpha version, because much things aren't implemented and some bugs aren't fixed. USE WITH CAUTION!

Man - just totally appreciate your work here.
Just to make sure before flashing the kernel - it should work the same for P714 as well, right?

You can try, but I don't know, if it would work.

GPS still isn't working
I dirty flashed from 1.8 to 2.0 but the gps still doesn't work.
edit: i used the gps tool box app and actually it works now, but it still takes a long time to lock onto GPS, anyway thanks for this rom!

Agreed, GPS locks seem slow. Might be what we are stuck with given the cm12 fix.
Havent been on any other gproj ROMs to compare.
Google camera
Does all functions work in the google camera (panorama, photo sphere and lens blur)? Right now I'm using CM12 official with Solid Kernel and only regular photo and video is working.

Sure, go and find something not working why don't you.
I hadn't tried any of them. Sphere and pano only show black screens, apparently not working. Lens blur is functional

Actually, that's a problem with all the lollipop roms that I have tried for the e970 (and most of the KK, except for some the MAKO based). Seems that our camera is quite difficult to please....
BTW dandrumheller, it seems that you have tried most of the roms out there for our device, which one did you find more stable? At the time I'm using the official CM12 with Solid Kernel and in my opinion is really good (except for the camera and the bluetooth address, which aren't dealer breakers for me). Thanks.

I actually haven't tried many of the Lp roms. Candy5 has been the most stable and battery efficient for me. Had some issues with bsod on beanstalk 5.0, though 4.4 versions were excellent. Blisspop has been quite stable, but uninspiring in terms of battery life. My phone hates solid kernel - tons of freeze and crash issues. In general I seem to have better luck with mako based roms. Have not tried CM12 yet.

Cool. I might try Candy5 and see how it goes. Thanks for you answers!
I'm having an issue where the contact names aren't showing up in the stock messenger, or gosms (haven't tried at other). The full number shows, but never the names. I've tried clearing caches and data on contacts and messengers. Tried resyncing the contacts from Google. I've double checked the privacy guard settings. Basically, I've searched around and tried everything I can think of, but still no luck! So I figured I'd ask the experts! Any ideas???
Ive noticed a few other minor issues. ...
I've had the problem with not being able to move the download, as someone mentioned above. Ive had to connect to PC, transfer from phones internal storage to the PC, then back to EXT SD card in the phone.
The 2/13 build does seem to be a little harder on the battery, and runs a lil warm (also mentioned above). I haven't had any crashing issues, but can feel the temp difference over the average.
Possibley related to the heat and battery issues; I noticed that there are two interfaces for the CPU/GPU clocking and scheduling, under the Performance section of System Settings. Maybe there's a conflict happening there? From memory, I don't remember the "Device Control" section being there in the previous build. It seems redundant to have both. Although Device Settings is much more robust, and I would prefer it be integrated instead of keeping the old, minimal interface. Some adjustments to Device Settings, while disabling the other minimal settings on boot, seems to have helped with heat and battery drain a little bit.
No problems with GPS, that I've noticed
Titanium Backup v6 has problem gaining root access in all cm12 ROMs I've tried. To fix, go to Titanium BU Preferences, scroll to bottom, select Troubleshoot Options (or something like that), and highlight/select the option to force the app to use the SYSTEM busybox, not the one baked into Titanium BU. Restart the app, and root works. Also worth mentioning is that you may have to enable root access under Developer Options in System Settings before any app can gain root. Otherwise, no issues with root, or Super SU.
Hi,
After using Beanstalk 4.4 for several months, finally I tried first LP based ROM BlissPop...so far it seem good, only couple of crashes in last week, few issues are present that are highlighted already (like camera panorama not working...battery life affected).
Since last couple days, the strange issue is being encountered, when i get a call, phone rings but there is no interface to receive the call, i then have to go to call screen and there it says "return to the active call" when i click, i get to the screen where i can receive the call. This started happening without any updates so not sure what caused it? I even tried latest version of ROM but same issue present.
Any ideas?
P.S: thanks to everybody who contributes to this excellent site, i have been a regular reader of the site but got to post something today for the first time.

Okay, it turned out to be a feature that some one must have activated on my cell (my little kiddo likes to tinker with my cell)
In App Notification section, Dialer was blocked and that was causing it to not show up whenever i got a call.
Its working great now

system control issue
I went through all 9 pages of the thread and didnt notice anyone else having this issue. In 2.2 under performance and then system control app when one goes to features and then vibration intensity it just force closes on me...is anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions on what I can do to fix?
So I'd like to see what was being discussed in the normal thread for this great rom but the following link isn't working and since I'm a forum baby I'm not allowed to post in the grownup thread... Can anyone help me out with this? Does anyone check this side of the thread?

Also, the last build(the one before latest) ... The vibration control in performance>device control was fixed and working.... In the latest build it's broken once again and force closing every time I select it. Just wanted to mention in case no one is aware of it.
So if 4.8.15 is the latest build why does the ota update app found in the app drawer ask me to update to the latest version so my configuration will be appropriate for ota updates? Is there something specific I have to do in order for that feature to work properly?
Lol is this thing on?
In the latest build, was the performance tab in settings cut out of the build?

It contained the free app that allowed you to do all kinds of different things with the phone...I forget what it was called....I know part of the file name was x.nameless rom.com
You can try kenvinjoa kernel or nitro kernel
Does this build allow encryption?
