WARNING! THIS IS STILL IN ALPHA STAGES... (v0.2.1a)
And that's because I don't mean it to be a Tube8/porn viewer. It's going to be a video viewer for all types of websites. So until I get to that stage, alpha!
However, it's fully-functioning in the sense that you should be able to get to any movie on Tube8. There are some bugs... I'll list the ones I know below. You MUST follow the steps below to get this working.

}
(wow, took a while before I found a kind-of-work-safe image... but you saw Tube8 in the header, you should know better)
STEP 1
This uses PYTHON! You must have PythonCE installed for this to work. I'll explain why in a second, but the link for pythonCE is here..
Get PythonCE
STEP 2
Install the CAB file below. (I'm crossing my fingers that it works ok.)
STEP 3
Copy the THREE .pyw files in the attached zip file to the /Program Files/Python25/Lib folder. (Unzip them!) These are crucial! (Some unzip programs will capitalize the file names. CHANGE THEM BACK to all lowercase if this happens. Python is case-sensitive and it's looking for these files with lower-case names.)
STEP 4
Have a video player set to open M3U files by default. I KNOW this works with CorePlayer. I'm not certain it works with TCPMP (maybe mine sucks ) For CorePlayer, it's not enough to just install it. You need to go into Tools->Settings... then select the page for Associations and check M3U.
One thing you WILL notice is that not all videos will play in CorePlayer. I can't figure out the reason, but some of the videos are encoded in VP6 (FLV4) and Coreplayer can't read them. However, a good two thirds of the videos do work... just keep trying.
OK, maybe you noticed that these python files are named XBMC. Well, my intention is to get most (or all) of the plugins that work for XBMC to work for my app which I think I'm going to name 2Kinetic - Mobile Video Viewer. So far, it should work with the Tube8 plugin. I did not write this plugin, and I would not normally package it with this app, but I'm still in testing mode so... hopefully I haven't stepped on anyone's toes.
You'll notice that PythonCE is a little slow... well, it is not super fast, but I think you'll be able to live with it if we can get everything else that XBMC does working on Windows Mobile. Besides, if PythonCE turns out to be incredibly useful on the WM platform, maybe someone will take it up again and put out a better (newer version).
Known bugs:
-Back button doesn't do what it should always
-If net connection is down, the program will crash
-Images don't show up on the initial screen unless you scroll down, then back up... or you wait until it finishes loading.
-Many more i'm sure...
To Do:
-Write a new class for displaying images and text... i'm currently using listview (small icons). This will let me display more data (vid length) and fix the image loading behavior.
-Speed everything up
-See if TCPMP will open HTTP addresses as streams from an *.M3U file (how 2Kinetic currently works)
-Make a nicer search page (the default one is ugly and not convenient at all)
Future:
-Get more plugins from XBMC to work
-Get a better overall video player to work flawlessly (maybe TCPMP)
-Get RTMP support worked into the program (on the way )
Good idea, thanks.
I've seen your post on WVD's thread. Maybe you're app could enable to the user to fix some html or others to make the app reworking when video-websites have changed. No?
I hope your app will be a "better and working" wvd soon.
If you need help, but only for a translation in french, i can help you.

I've got some ideas for that... like using an XML file containing regex expressions that will auto-update via web (or by hand). I really wanted to mimic how XBMC does it, but XBMC uses python and pythonCE is not perfect yet. I'm still thinking about it.

Ok, good idea. Do you think that in future your app may enable some "plugins" ? For exemple a dev' create a plugin (xml file) for a website like youtube, we put it in a folder, and it works. It's a good idea, to my mind.
(you speak french? Wow. )

In english please.
How does it crash? Do you have an error message/log?
Just so everyone knows... it will crash if there's no internet connection. It will also crash if tube8.com is unreachable. There is absolutely no error-handling in the program at all. There is no log file either.
I was hoping that someone would say, "Yes it works for me on GPRS."
I'll keep working on it anyways.
If you are having trouble saying what you want to say inEnglish, french is ok since I can understand you, but we all prefer english normally so that everyone can understand
BTW - YOU MUST HAVE NET CF 3.5 INSTALLED FOR IT TO WORK. I think most new roms come with it, so this shouldn't be a big issue, but just in case.
It worked great for me,I have the Sprint Touch Pro2 using stock ROM,no problem at all, thanks for your great work.

Both worked great.
DIAM500
Telus
It crashes for me, I believe its because its trying to save the file to "storage card" but as you may or may not no the DIAM500 only has internal memory no SD slot. Other wise it loaded fine and showed all the previews.
I've forgotten to say it, but it works for me too.
I use an acer tempo x960, with wifi.
For me it crashes when I press flv... If this app tries to save to the storage card that may be the issue in my case (maybe it's a regional or unicode issue... since in my localization the storage card folder is named "Cartão de memória".
PS: If you're going to add more sites I leave the same suggestion as I did for WVD: make your app scriptable in a similar way to PSP Tube (and its mods... here and here are some scripts that may help making the addition of some sites faster). In the long run this would require less (official) updates.

Yeah, it's hardcoded to go to "/storage card/" so it will crash if it's in another language or not there. Well, this was just a test to make sure those sites aren't doing anything other than checking the HTTP Headers for mobile devices.
As for scripting... I did not know that PSP Tube existed. I'll look into those... I was definitely going for a scripted version that others can contribute to since I don't want to be the one to fix it each time a site changes their format.
I'm still working on it...
And thanks for all the responses so far.

Good luck, i can't wait to test new version.
Good to know. Will keep an eye on development.
hey buddy, nice to see this.
i'm working on a similar app for android and started with tube8 too, cause it has easy accecable videos. Maybe we can share information how to extract the video infos.
I try to make my app pluginbased so that it is easy in the future to add new sites. I'm a android beginner (without my own device) so it takes some time.. but tube 8 works quit good at the moment.
P.S.: For android devices its important that the site has mp4 support so the sitesupport is very limited on android at the moment.
sxe: PM'd you...
Failed on GPRS when I clicked FLV...
WebException - Could not establish connection to network
I think I have everything working except for the Search function and the back button...
But the behavior so far:
1. You're presented with a series of menus
2. If you select Categories, it will show you a series of categories.
3. Otherwise, it will show you a list of videos with name and thumbnail.
4. Doubletap the video and it will open CorePlayer automatically and stream it. I had no slowdowns at all like I used to get with WVD and TCPMP (although I think that was TCPMP's fault and not WVD).
Ok, now all I have to do is fix the Search and Back buttons... then learn how to package this whole thing into a CAB file and I'll upload it for testing
Edit: Oh, and I need to put in a lot of error handling so that you guys can tell me what it says when there's an error

About JASS -
Just Another SS Rom is my own customized rom. It uses the same ICS 4.0.4 codebase as the stock. Due to the ingrained AMLOGIC's Library, I am reluctant to modify the Kernel significantly. Rest of the Rom however has been worked on considerably. It has been oriented towards gaining maximum performance out of the single Processor on board. It also unlocks the true potential of the Mali GPU.
We all would love to see Jellybean on the Favi Smartstick. But such is not the case. The blame squarely lies at the doorstep of Amlogic the maker of the A9 processor inside. Until such time they release source for Jellybean, we will have to wait. Just so you are aware, you are not alone. The whole community of Ainol NOVO Tablet, which is based on same Processor, rebelled at this. Given they are considerably larger than the one for this stick, they had pressured Ainol into releasing JB. Ainol pointed to AMLOGIC so a petition has already been created to Amlogic. If they succeed, we shall benefit.
So is all lost till then ? Oh not at all!! Why would you want JB ? I guess for Project Butter? Or perhaps Google Now ? If so read on the Change Log.
Release 2.0 Change Log -
Say Hello to Google Now!
Welcome Project Butter! Google's Grass Roots effort geared towards smoothness and Performance. Watch this video for more.
Introducing Themed Google Apps, Say Thanks for Team Blackout for the amazing Inverted Google Apps.
Welcome the Xposed Framework. This opens the door wide for all kinds of mods tweaks and other goodies!
Gamer Oriented Performance. Quicker Disk I/O. Other Non-Gaming users should experience grass Roots performance improvement.
I am not a Graphics artist. But I have dabbled a little bit on theaming the Rom. Let me know your thoughts.
Zoom partly works. The Lens button on the lower right corner of the Mini Wireless keyboard will zoom out of any scenario. Afraid I don't have a zoom in yet.
Side note to introduction of Black GApps, From this release on, the Google apps are separately flashable zip. I will include only Google Play and Calendar in the Rom. Rest you can flash separately. You will notice a Team Black Updater app included.
This release is powered by SuperSU. So do please stop by and say thanks to its developer @Chainfire.
Please use Titanium Backup or any Root Uninstaller to remove the "Update 1.0" app. It does not play well with my code and keeps nagging about an update.
Release 1.0 Features -
Here are some of the Salient features of this Rom
Tablet UI instead of stock tabbed UI.
Numerous performance tweaks. Better memory management.
Better Wi Fi connection speed. In my case the recorded speed over WiFi jumped from 4 to 5 MBPS to 9.5 MBPS.
Better Streaming buffer. So less likelihood of Buffering while watching online video.
Dolby Digital Surround Sound with Beats Audio from this thread. Only applicable if your source file is Dolby or Netflix/hulu streams Dolby. If you like this, please thank nikhilonlive.
Adaway is included and programmed out of box. So even if you don't use the app, ads will be limited.
CIFs Manager is included in case you need to map to some windows share or a NAS.
Download & Installation -
This release will reset your SmartStick to Factory Default and remove all existing apps. So better take a Titanium Backup if you wish to conserve.
NOTE - AMLOGIC has updated Recovery. So there will be Verification failure errors if you don't follow the instructions carefully.
There are two separate sets of instructions depending on your Current firmware on the Smartstick.
Look under Settings > About > Build.
Firmware Version 1.1.2.1 & JASS 1.0 -
If you see 1.1.2.1 as the Stock firmware, then you need to download the Full Flash firmware of Smartstick.
If you have previous version of JASS Rom, you still need to update your Recovery.
Download Link here.
Unzip the contents of the downloaded Zip file completely to the Root of your Micro SD Card or a USB Flash Drive. You will notice another zip file called update.zip. Please do not unzip it. Make sure it resides on the Root of your microsd card or USB Drive then proceed to installation.
Firmware Version 1.1.2.5 -
Your Recovery is already updated. You can go ahead and use only the Update version. Download Link here.
Do not Unzip the downloaded file. Place it on the Root of your MicroSD Card or USB Flash Drive and then proceed to installation.
Google Apps -
These are completely optional. I have included essential apps into the Rom. These are the Play Store and the Calendar.
Irrespective of either case, you can use same Google Apps zip. Download Link here. Place the Zip file
Installation -
Plug in the above flash ROM device to the MicroSD slot or USB port.
Reboot into Recovery by either using Quick Boot App or by using a push pin.
Choose apply update from the SD Card or USB Stick.
For those who are coming from 1.1.2.1 version, you may see automatic update process without your input. If so, then let it complete.
For everyone else, first choose the Rom Zip. Either the update.zip or the separately downloaded JASSROMv2.0 off 1.1.2.5 zip.
Once the Rom has been flashed, you will be come back to the Recovery Screen. Now optionally choose the Gapps zip file. Proceed to flash
Reboot & Profit !!
NOTE -
Welcome Wizard does not include Logging into your Google Account. So you will have to choose Google Play Store so it will prompt you to log on the first time.
First time Boot will take considerable time as Dalvik Builds for the first time. Subsequent boots will be faster.
That's it! Enjoy & have fun. Let me know if you have any issues or feedback.

Correct XBMC Build for Smartstick -
If your XBMC Setup is working perfectly, do not read further.
The Official Release you see on XBMC's website is compiled for Allwinner ARM Processor based devices. Our Smartstick DOES NOT HAVE that processor. That is the primary reason of some of the issues you may be facing.
Here's a short detail on one of the reason for the problems.
The Smartstick, either the 8 GB or 16 GB is powered by AMLOGIC Cortex-A9 Processor. Now the part that typically throws people off is the ARM part. Both Allwinner Technologies as well as AMLOGIC manufacture Mobile Processor that are based on ARM Architecture. Smartstick has AMLOGIC's implementation of ARM Cortex A9. The version of XBMC you can download as of 01-10-14 is for Allwinner ARM Cortex A12.
So you need to get a build of XBMC that has the AMPLYER built for the AMLOGIC's implementation of the ARM Architecture. The PIVOS XIOS device does have the same processor as the Smartstick. So XBMC build by users of PIVOS will be suited for you. You can visit their forum for the latest builds. Here's a build that has been tested and found successful. So go ahead and give this a try. It has the AMPLAYER compiled inside. As you are aware, you are welcome to use an external player as well.
Thanks for this! Been waiting for a custom rom

Two features
Droid VNC ! Please. I can get a view-only VNC connection to work. But I always get "Cannot create virtual input device".
I am running the 1.1.2.1 rooted build from SmartStick.info
And Google TV remote works, but most of the buttons do not work obviously. What I really need from it is a button to open the onscreen keyboard and also, to be able to type Caps (I cannot currently). App shortcuts would be nice too.
Let me know if this could be done. Thanks.

As far as VNC is concerned, the IP tables are turned off partially. So making VNC or VPN work is bit of a challenge. I will see what I can do.
Google Remote's been buggy a bit. Primary reason is the TV Remote app and hardware don't integrate well. (AMLogic Kernel). I will need to include some keyboard drivers. Again will see what I can do.
Would you be kind and test out the current build ? I'd love to know first impressions...
Thanks for requests. Gives me an idea of what the users are looking for,
Yes, I would be happy to test what you've got so far
In every attempt to either get VNC user input working... or to install any functional remote... I always seem to have similar errors which I understand to be a lack of "uinput module loaded in the kernel"

Do please understand I did not modify the Kernel from Stock version 1.1.2.1. So these are carry forward issues from there.
I am presently working on fixing loading external modules at start. This is work in progress as listed in the Op.
Even the 1.1.2.1 stock and rooted versions don't work well with the Google TV keyboard.
It is most apparent when starting up xbmc.
I think that would be a great feature to work on.

There are .Ko files missing in the current rom for Google Keyboard. I will have to procure the ICS compatible version in order to support. Will definitely go after it.
Thanks for the feedback.
Will you be kind enough to test how Wireless connectivity is working out ? Especially buffering when playing online content ?
So how has this rom been working? Just bought a Favi stick off of groupon and will wanna root as soon as I get it. Big thing for me will be adaway. Plan on using TSF Shell Launcher with it. Pretty excited.

I have particularly coded for better Wi-Fi Performance. :silly:
Looking forward to it! Now let's just see how long it takes groupon to send it to me! But last question, any chance of jellybean? If not I'm totally fine with ICS and a launcher.

Short answer. No JB right now. Besides some of the JB features require real touch screen. So not really a difference between ICS & JB.

Yes that's on cards. Especially considering the Navbar is back, I am considering skinning it and/or porting some tablet themes as well.
However, as you see, It doesn't look like Popularity peak. I had a grand total of 17 Downloads total. Given that I didn't have even as many posts here or on Favi's Forums, it doesn't seem like people even want this.

Its not that I'd do it for my own interest. I do it for "People's" Interest. This does not seem to be present. Does make one loose interest in the work. I am not saying I will stop doing it, I am just saying what I feel.
Thanks for the offer. I will certainly reach out.
Count me in.
I think the brand favi is not popular yet and uet does noy have enought developers
If you can improve it memory and update

After weeks of hard work we (Setmov and uncle Fab) proudly present you the first Una ROM for the galaxy Grand 2 I7102, based on 4.3 XXUANG4.
DISCLAIMER
As usual, your phone your responsability, we won't take any responsability if it flies out of the window or if your girlfriend/boyfriend runs away with it.
PLEASE, DO READ OP COMPLETELY AND CAREFULLY BEFORE ASKING ANY QUESTIONS, ANSWERS TO MOST PROBLEMS ARE THERE
WHAT IS UNA?
Una is a new concept that takes security to a new level.
Are you tired of seeing so much blatant, outrageous and shameless invasion of your privacy and data mining hidden behind nice sentences like "enhanced use experience" or "complete integration with the system"? We decided to develop secure ROMs where privacy means just that – Private!.
It’s free of charge, we are a non profit structure and we are not here to make big bucks
WHAT UNA ISN'T
UNA isn't a way to help you to stealthily buy massive destruction weapons to foment a coup d'etat in your favorite banana republic or to prepare the third world war.
UNA secures what leaves from your phone (ie your personnal data doesn't leak and no app can look over your shoulder to spy your activities), but it can't completely secure what comes into your phone.
Why is that?
Because it's just not possible to fully secure a phone from what comes into it, and anyone claiming to be able to do it is either a liar, or an ignorant, or both.
There are too many attacks, some not well documented, if documented at all, and some unknown to the public, and there are too many ways to hack a phone, especially if the user doesn't use his/her common sense.
If you are the type of person that installs apps from shaddy source and/or warez web sites (sites offering cracked paid apps) chances are that at some point you will unknowingly install a malware or a spyware. The same applies if you click on any link, specially on SMS' and emails, if you let any pop out window appear or if you don't protect your lockscreen with a password/pin/pattern and let anyone get physical access to your phone.
A bit of judgment and common sense can save you a lot of trouble, but there's unfortunately nothing UNA can do about it.
Then, if you use your phone to call through GSM your provider will know where you are. If he didn't you wouldn't be able to make any call, the signal has to find you and there's nothing UNA or anyone can do about it.
The only way to prevent that is to disable the phone functions (but then your phone will turn into a wifi only device) and reenable them when needed, head to the scripts section to learn how to do it.
Last but not least, bear in mind that the agencies have armies of tech savvy henchmen and 10 storeys computers, and tricks we can't even imagine, so think twice and use your brain before you attempt to outsmart them...
UNA IS FOR YOU IF:
. You are willing to learn how to use an unconventional ROM and generally speaking to understand how things work, even if it sometimes requires a little effort to fix this or that little problem (bear in mind that it took us a lot of work to develop Una to where it is now),
. You don't mind a few little occasional bugs here and there that come from all the restrictions the ROM contains,
. You want to take back ownership of your phone from google’s claws.
UNA IS NOT FOR YOU IF:
. All that you care about is the latest gimmick in the latest OS,
. You can't live without the google’s apps,
. You are the kind of person that never reads through the OP and only scroll down to the download section, and then complain that things don't work and/or ask stupid questions that have already been answered in OP.
An example? One guy makes a mod and writes clearly in OP that it's specifically for 4.2.2. Then some people complain: "it doesn't work on 4.4.2"...
ARE WE PARANOID TIN FOIL HATS? OR TERRORISTS? OR CARTEL BOSSES?
Nope, we only are people that don't see why we shouldn't be in control of our phones. Or why our phones can be wiped remotely, why apps or updates or who knows what can be downloaded and installed without asking for our consent, why SMS' can be sent without us to know, why we should pay for the bandwidth used for data mining and unwanted downloads, and why all those activities should deplete our battery and kill our RAM.
You think we are overreacting here?
You don't have to take our word for it, just download and install Network Log from here:
https://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdfilter=network+log&fdid=com.googlecode.networklog
Give it root permission, start logging and open some web pages. Come back to Network Log after a few minutes and see for yourself, you'll be surprised (or maybe horrified?) to find out that your android system, your settings, your kernel etc. connect to all sorts of funny IPs, including and foremost google’s.
Now you see what we mean?
It's time to go for Una
UNA'S FEATURES
. Rooted.
. Deodexed.
. Zipaligned.
. Busybox and sqlite installed.
. Init.d support and scripts.
. Auto start disabled for most apps.
. About 120 system apps, 40 framework jars, 30 permissions xmls and 25 libs removed, plus files here and there.
. Very low RAM and CPU consumption, more than 8 hours screen time with the WIFI on, 1% battery decrease every 10-12 hours while in stand by.
. Heavily and extensively modified system, in order to make it secure and prevent it from leaking your data.
. App Settings, Firewall and Xprivacy built-in, and already applied out of the box to make sure you are well protected.
. Xprivacy is a fantastic tool but it has one big limitation, it can't restrict the Android System from accessing your serial numbers and leaking it. For that reason these IDs have been edited as follows:
build.serial (androidboot.serialno), ro.boot.serialno and ro.serialno are both set to "1",
android id is set to "id",
net.hostname is set to "1".
. Wlan serial number set to "00000001" (this number identifies you everytime you connect to the internet, and Xprivacy can't do anything about it).
. USB ID (iSerial) set to 1.
. Unreadable cp access.
. Vulnerabilities patched thanks to Master Key Multi Fix.
. ADB disabled (can be re-enabled, see below).
. By default ADB, all google access (including youtube, blogspot and google search), the Live Wallpaper Picker and the Media Storage are disabled. You can re-enable some or all of them, instructions are in the "HOW TO USE THE ROM" section.
. Plenty of under the hood modifications to make the ROM fast and fluid.
. Multi-purpose navigation keys.
. Call button in contacts.
. Because secure doesn't mean ugly, the whole ROM has been themed with a beautiful green color (if there are enough requests other themes will follow), transparency, and Lollipop HD wallpapers.
. Multiwindows have been revamped, they are no longer only static in Samsung style but now they can float and be resized/minimized too, like on a computer.
. All apps can be opened in floating mode.
. KK style quad view multiwindows.
. Heaps of hand picked and carefully scrutinized open source apps.
There are 2 non open source apps (Greenify and Quick Pic) but they are safe, believe me, I have thoroughly examined them. Still, you can always uninstall them if you feel like it.
In time we will develop our own apps, but first we want to see how people respond to the Una concept...
Installed apps/tools

. WI-Fi Privacy Police, to secure your connections even better than they already are.
. Xposed Installer, a great framework that enables apps like App Settings or Xprivacy to work.
. Xprivacy, last but not least, the best privacy app.
WHY DO WE USE A 4.3 ROM AS BASE INSTEAD OF THE LATEST 4.4.2?
Because when it comes to privacy Kit Kat 4.4.x is a complete
disaster, the newer the android version the more buit-in spying there is (and the more difficult it is to remove it), despite google's sweet talk about "enhanced user's experience.
Lollipop seems to be even worse, but that's another story.
INSTALLATION
As usual, make a backup first!
Do backup your contacts and whatever is important because all your apps and data will be erased (your sd card contents won't be deleted though).
Do backup your /system/csc folder, in case you need it for later.
Do backup your efs folder (VERY IMPORTANT).
Open an android terminal from your phone and type:
su
enter, then type:
busybox dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11 of=/sdcard/efs.img
enter, this will create an efs backup caled efs.img in your sd card.
To restore it, first make sure the efs.img is in your internal sd card, then type:
su
enter, then type:
busybox dd if=/sdcard/efs.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11
enter, your efs will be restored in no time.
If that sounds like too much work you can use the scripts provided to backup/restore your efs, instructions are in the scripts section.
To install the ROM you need a Custom Recovery and Philz' comes highly recommended.
We chose Philz since AFAIK it's the only one that allows you to lock you recovery with a password (if your recovery is not password protected it wouldn't take more than 2 minutes for someone to disable your pattern or pin protected lockscreen and access all your personal data on the phone).
I'm not sure whether there's a Philz recovery or not for the Grand 2, if there isn't then CWM or TWRP will do.
Custom recovery installation instructions
You need to have Samsung drivers installed.
Boot your phone into download mode (press volume down and power at the same time).
Open Odin 3.07 and connect your phone.
Click on the PDA slot, navigate to where the Custom Recovery is located and select it.
DOUBLE CHECK AND MAKE SURE THAT "RE-PARTITION" IS UNTICKED (only "Auto Reboot" and "F.Reset Time" should be selected).
Click start and wait while Odin flashes the Recovery.
If everything went well your phone will now auto-reboot into the system. Go into recovery, you should see your brand new Custom Recovery.
If you are still on stock recovery then repeat the above steps, but this time untick “Auto Reboot” in Odin.
When in recovery, if before you reboot you see a text on the screen displaying “yes – disable flash recovery”, select it to avoid stock recovery overwriting the Custom Recovery.
Download Una for Grand 2 from here (click on the menu at the top right and go to the download section):
http://unaos.com
Unzip the ROM and copy it to the backup folder that is inside the clockworkmod folder in your sd card (if there's no backup folder create it by choosing "mkdir" in Ghost Commander).
Boot into recovery.
Go to restore from sdcard, choose 1970-01-01.10.06.02, and go for it!
IMPORTANT!!!
If you are on Kit Kat (4.4.2) you must downgrade first to stock 4.3 before you attempt to install Una ROM, otherwise you may end up with a bricked phone.
Here are 2 threads to assist you in the downgrading process:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-grand-2/general/how-to-downgrade-galaxy-grand-2-sm-t2857767
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-grand-2/help/downgrade-to-4-3-t2857183
If it works please report here so that other people will know, thanks in advance!
Once it's done reboot, congratulations, you have installed Una ROM on your phone!
HOW TO USE THE ROM
. Swipe down to access the applications drawer.
. Swipe up to turn off the screen.
. Go to settings and set a stong password/pin/pattern protected lockscreen (recommended).
. Go in recovery and set a recovery password (recommended).
. Long pressing on the menu key toggles expanded desktop (full screen, no more navigation bar and no more status bar).
. Double pressing the menu key kills and hibernates the current application.
. Long pressing the recent key brings you back to the last application (convenient to switch from one app to another).
. Between the home and the back key there's a supplementary key that can display up to 12 apps (editable in gravity box).
Double pressing that key shows the sound panel, long pressing it shows the reboot menu (note that there's an option to take screenshots in the reboot menu).
. You can open an app in full screen mode by dragging it from the Flash Bar (the side bar), then you can drag and add more windows to the view (up to 4 on the same screen).
Or, you can open apps in resizable and movable floating mode by clicking on them (double tapping the top bar minimizes them into a bubble, double tapping the bubble restores them).
. Go to /system/etc/security/cacerts, check the certificates that are there (you'll find the certificate's name approximately by the middle of the file), and erase the ones you don't need/like.
When you want to transfer files to/from your phone open the USB Mass Storage Enabler app and enable mass storage, that's it. When you are done, don't forget to eject your phone from the computer and to reenable MTP from the app.
. When you install a new application, by default it will be fully restricted in both Xprivacy and the Firewall.
Before you open the newly installed app wait until the Xprivacy icon appears in the status bar, then and only then can you open it.
Most likely the app will crash.
Go to Xprivacy, open its settings and then usage data, you will see what restrictions caused the crash. Re enable some, provided that they are not too invasive.
Many apps require "load.Library" to be allowed in the shell section, that's ok.
Others may need to access the sd card, that's in the storage section and it's ok to allow it for apps that really need to access the storage, like players, cameras or file managers (for other apps try to keep it restricted).
Root apps obviously need "su" and/or 'sh", and sometimes "exec", in the shell section.
Always try to enable as few fields as possible, and bear in mind that data requested by an app is not necessarily needed for that app to work (especially true for identification, internet and mcc/mmc access).
Lastly, give the app internet access in the Firewall if, and only if, it needs it, and restrict some more permissions in App Settings.
If you can't tame the app consider uninstalling it and look for a similar one that has less built-in spyware.
SCRIPTS
. As said above, by default ADB, all google access (including youtube, blogspot and google search), the Live Wallpaper Picker and the Media Storage are disabled.
If you want to re-enable some or all of them, open the script folder located in system/etc.
Click on the desired script and choose edit.
Copy the whole text and paste it into the Android Terminal, voila, the script is automagically executed.
. You will see more scripts to disable/enable the Bluetooth, the FM Radio and the Phone.
If you disable the Phone and later want to re-enable it do as follows:
untick App Settings in Xposed's modules section, re-enable Phone, reboot, then enable App Settings again.
. Some scripts will enable you to backup/restore your efs partition and flash a recovery.img (to restore or flash an .img, make sure it's in your internal sd and execute the script).
. Other scripts can enable/disable am and pm, but don't play with it unless you know what you're doing.
. You can uninstall the Live Wallpaper Picker, the Wallpaper Chooser and the Media Storage if you want, or keep them disabled and resurrect them when needed.
. If you are very privacy concerned you should consider using the "uncle's phone lite" mod because it enables you to call with only the Phone and the Telephony Provider apps (CSC, Contacts, Contacts Storage, Logs Provider and STK are completely de-activated). That's the method I use to make calls, but you have to know that the dialler forces close after you complete the call (not a big deal in my opinion but still, I may look into it one of these days). You'll find the mod in the add-ons section.
ENCRYPTION
If encryption is your thing we have you covered with the following installed apps:
APG, Conversations, K9 Mail and Text Secure.
BUGS
. Quick Dic won't download any dictionary, actually it's not a bug but a Una restriction since Quick Dic downloads from a google owned web site.
If you need to download dictionaries, temporarly enable google by running the "enable_google" script (don't forget to disable it again when you're done). After you've run the script go to the firewall, open its settings, go to "Set custom script" and click "OK" (do the same if you decide to disable again google's stuff).
. For some reason the ADW Launcher doesn't allow transparency in the navigation bars while in portrait, I'm working on that.
. You can't download anything from Lightning and Tint Browser, that's because the Download Manager and the Download UI have been uninstalled. If you need to download something, copy the link and paste it in Pale Moon, it has its own download engine.
. I didn't have time to properly and restrictively set Text Secure (the SMS app), because I don't own this phone and the person I borrowed it from wanted it back ASAP. Sorry about that, you'll have to do it on your own (if you want to make it simple just restrict its internet access).
. All the installed apps work, but other apps you install may crash. I call that kind of apps "google’s henchmen", they only work if the play store services or the bla bla app are installed and of course they won't on Una since all that garbage has been removed.
If I install your app, why do you want to force me to install your boss' app too? Forget about those apps and search Fdroid, you'll find what you need...
. Depending the way you use your phone you may have to fine tune Xprivacy and reenable some permissions, I'm sorry for the inconvenience but it's impossible to set Xprivacy for all users since we all have different ways to use our phone.
ADD-ONS
. Sony Xperia Keyboard, flash it in recovery.
Credits KristianCarl for porting it, and unclefab for theming it in green.
It's not open source and that's why it's not included in the rom by default, but it's my every day keyboard because it works fine and because I themed it to make it look nice.
Don't give it internet access in the Firewall.
In Xprivacy, only allow "loadLibrary" in the shell section. You may have to enable a few fields in the contacts section depending your phone's configuration.
In App Settings, restrict "Read_Phone_State" and "Record_Audio".
I removed the Chinese Keyboard, tell me if you want it and I'll readd it.
. Universe Wallpapers
If there are enough users' requests then I'll upload the following:
. Uncle's phone lite (with clipboard and dialer) for hardcore users. It's safer than using the regular phone configuration, but the dialer forces close when you hang up the call. Flash it in recovery, wipe dalvik-cache, reboot.
. Completely disable internet access for the Android System. Lightning and Tint Browser won't connect anymore since they use the same web engine as the Android System, but Pale Moon still works thanks to its build-in web engine. Flash it in recovery, wipe dalvik-cache, reboot.
RECOMMENDED NON OPEN SOURCE APPS
. Pri-fy, from chainfire the root master:

. Logging Test:

UPDATES?
I'm working on some improvements on kernel and system level to make Una even more secure, but I will release them for the Grand 2 if, and only if, there are enough users' feedback for the current version, because it's a lot of work to implement such stuff in a ROM.
No ETA though, you'll have to be patient because now we have to design and release Una for many other phones.
Still, any suggestions/comments/bug reports are welcome, help us to improve Una!
FEATURE REQUESTS
Yeah, sure, we'll see what we can do but we don't promise anything
SCREENSHOTS
I didn't have time to make screenshots since I ran short of time, so the ones you'll see here come from another phone.
They are very similar in shape, layout and color though, and you'll get the idea.
That's all for now, enjoy the ROM!!!

Thank you soooooo much to take time to reply and show how much consideration and respect you have for someone that worked about 100 hours to build a rom and share it for free with the community.
It feels sad to know that you won t run Una rom on your phone, and thanks again for informing us that we won t count such a great person like you amongst our users, but maybe next time you should read OP:
UNA IS NOT FOR YOU IF:
. All that you care about is the latest gimmick in the latest OS,
. You can't live without the google’s apps,
. You are the kind of person that never reads through the OP and only scroll down to the download section, and then complain that things don't work and/or ask stupid questions that have already been answered in OP.

Well, time will tell, but so far if you were me what would you think/do?
Thanks for your valient efforts.
But most of the phones would have been upgraded
to k.k. and downgrading them to 4.3 is rather risky.
Even I wonder whether I can downgrade to 4.3 add you rightly mentioned
about 4.4 and 5 android versions.
Even then I will try to down grade to 4.3 and also
try this room. I am willing to take the risk for the developer.

I really dislike 4.4 because it s full of spying, but on the other hand I definitely could build a 4.4 rom for the Grand 2 cuz I can understand that not many people want to take the risk to downgrade.
The only problem is that I don t own the phone, and that the person I borrowed it from doesn t want me to install 4.4 on it, because of knox and because 4.3 runs well.
One thing you have to bear in mind is that latest android version doesn t mean best version, and since 4.1 it s actually been quite the opposite.
Google install 2-3 gimmicks to "enhance users' experience" bla bla, and at the same time strengthens its grip on android.
It got particularly bad with 4.4, and I read reports that it went even worse with 5x...

spying? Meh. 80% of people are on kitkat and a few are on lollipop. No reports of something hack-ish.

Most people don t realise they are being spyied.
Do one test.
Download network log from here:
https://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdfilter=network+log&fdid=com.googlecode.networklog
Install it, open it, give it root access and start logging by clicking "logging on" on the top.
Then do some browsing, going to this or that site, but don t go to any google related web site (no search, no youtube etc.).
Come back to network log, you will see that your phone connected to many funny addresses, including of course google, and that quite a lot of data has been transfered both inbound and outbound.
That s just a small test, there s actually much more than that but you ll get the idea.
You could make another test with xprivacy, and if you do so you ll see that all apps request various private data like ids and cell towers location.
The thing is that the higher the android version the more difficult it is to prevent that data mining, data mining that is little more than spying by looking over your shoulder.
Una roms have been designed to prevent that, and more (see OP), but it s up to everybody to install it or not.
I really appreciate your Hard work , I can imagine how much hard work you would have done by working on a phone which you do not own , borrowing it again and again , testing the ROM on someone else's phone and the fear of bricking it . But as someone mentioned in the thread many users are on 4.4 . Many here fear bricking there devices while downgrading it. The mere fact that you have to downgrade your device to use the ROM is what cause of lack of users . personally I really liked what your ROM offers. Just to help you for further development H6 is the most stable and without Knox count firmware. Some 60-70 % users who flash custom ROM are on this firmware and even many custom Roms use it as a base . Hope to see this ROM on kk .
Best of luck.

Definitely I wanna going to try this rom. I never said 4.4. Or 5 is best versions of android.
But the fact is downgrading is some what risky. Eben then I am going to try.
No need to pay me for taking sweet.

I didn t read everything about the downgrade procedure, but of what I have read you have to odin flash a specific KK version first, and then a specific 4.3.
Anyway, if it s really that risky maybe you shouldn t try and wait until we manage to release a 4.4 Una rom.
The problem is that the person that owns that phone uses it for business purposes, so I have to be very careful not to loose all the whatsapp, bbm etc. contacts and settings, and if it was ok to backup her rom, work on making una during nights and then restoring her original rom in the early morning, it would be a different story to switch from 4.3 to 4.4 to again 4.3 every night...
Let s see if I can convince her to use 4.4 as her daily rom, but I can t lie and tell her that 4.4 is better than 4.3, and I don t think she will accept to sacrifice her phone.
I meet her again next month and I ll keep you informed in case she accepts.
For now what you can do if you want to make your phone more private and secure is to follow what I explain in my security thread (check my signature "how to secure your phone").

All builds prior to NK1 are without KNOX.
NH6 is good and speedy.
I'm a dev too, and I don't recommend the over-VIP experience you're using to grab customers. I ain't sure, but it looks humiliating to you to give picky users a VIP experience.
Just tell them to get the hell off the thread if they hate the idea (I really like it and would've upgraded if I was a TW user. I use AOSP CM).
Also, the screenshots are from a Grand 1, and our device is SM-G7102, not I7102. You mixed up with the Grand 1 i9082.
Oah you know, customers is maybe not the right word, unless they pay which is not the case!
Then I don t know if that can be called a vip experience, but I understand your point, maybe sometimes I m too nice, what to do...
For the screenshots, I didn t mix 'em, I explained in OP that I didn't have time to make any since I ran short of time, and that the ones I put here come from another phone.
A galaxy grand i9082, yep, well done, you have a sharp eye!
They are very similar in shape, layout and color (apart from the cascade icon to minimize windows that Samsung has removed after 4.2.2, a big mistake to my opinion), so people can get the idea.

In some ways you are right, but we think that being professional is not a bad thing, despite the fact that the forum is full of picky users, ready to make bad comments even without trying the product. Of course, we can and we will also give a VIP experience, but it is reserved for the ones that will earn it.
In any case we appreciate your support. Thank you

Also, the screenshots are from a Grand 1, and our device is SM-G7102, not I7102. You mixed up with the Grand 1 i9082.

As I recall, wiping (data/cache/Dalvik cache) from recovery worked.
You're lucky you ain't in a hard brick
Note that you need ClockWorkMod Recovery to wipe Dalvik.
Today we finally got to take a look at the official Windows 11 event, after months of leaks and rumors. During the live event, we got to see many different new Windows 11 features. If you didn't get to watch the event live, you can watch the entire thing here. Many different changes are coming related to gaming, productivity, communication, and more. I took three of the best new announcements and summarized them below.
New Start MenuWindows has a redesigned start Menu, which brings everything to the center of the bottom of your display. things look different once you open the start menu, with a grid of app icons below the search bar, and recommended files on the lower half. This is looking a lot more like an app drawer that you'd find on a phone or tablet. This new design has much more of a tablet feel to it, which will translate nicely to people with Microsoft Surface tablets.

You'll notice the new glassy look is applied throughout the system. It's not a radical change from Windows 10, but it does offer a cleaner and simpler look to the start menu.
Snap LayoutsBack when Windows 7 launched, Microsoft integrated Windows Snap. This is the feature that lets you drag a window to the edge of your display, and have it snap in place. It has been a favorite feature ever since, and it's now going to be a lot better. Windows 11 is expanding on this feature in several ways. With Snap Layouts, you will be able to see several options on how you want your window to snap. The screenshot below shows how you can divide your screen in six different ways.
One of the biggest problems with snap, on Windows 10 and earlier- is if you get distracted and have to pull up a new screen, and start a new task, your snap setup kind of gets ruined. Now this will not be the case. You can pull up a new window, send an email, then resume whatever layout you were working with.
This ability to remember the layout of your windows also applies to external monitors. If you are using a monitor to hold a specific snap layout, you can unplug that monitor and Windows will still remember the layout when you plug it back in.
Android AppsOne of the most exciting bits of news from the live stream is, Windows 11 will be able to run Android apps. This means that you can now watch TikTok, use Snapchat, or play your favorite mobile games right on your Windows PC. This could end up getting rid of the need for emulators from this point on. This is a huge step in bridging the gap between Android and Windows developers. It also means that you can have fewer devices. If you have a Windows tablet, you might find that you're able to skip on having an Android Tablet or iPad.
Users will be able to download Android apps right from the Microsoft Store, using their Microsoft account. Instead of accessing the Google Play store, Microsoft is integrating the Amazon appstore into the Microsoft Store. I'm sure people will find ways to sideload apks into this system, but we will have to wait and see.
It's really nice. I'll just say this: if Microsoft brought back Windows Phone with Windows 11 design, it would be the nicest mobile operating system by far.

Very nice the android emulator in windows would look amazing
Their one problem for the android emulator that would be like pre-installed on windows can u enable root for that android emulator it would definitely look a lot better if u can run rooted apps on that android emulator but it's still amazing even without root it will just look better with root because I can use apps like ad away uninstall pre-installed apps and turn apps into pre-installed apps

Very true but I don't think windows phone will ever come back because android and iOS both killed of windows phone for reason reason for that is because ever since android and iOS came out windows phone just decreased a lot and became a lot less popular over years which is probably why they killed it off back in 2017
Meh... how much ram does it use?
A fully loaded XPx64 (less antivirus) used a mere 576mb.
MS has been a solid fail since W7
Cant wait to try it!!
I would have been happier if MS announced that they brought back W7.
"We heard you, you all love W7, so we added support for modern hardware and software, then we left it the hell alone. No more deciding should I use Settings or Control Panel? Why is the MS Word ribbon in explorer? How much garbage can they squeeze in the start menu? We heard you and we call it 7.11 it's got everything you need. Minus the stupid windows snaps blazing across your monitors, seriously who needs that?"

We'll find out all of that when Microsoft releases a preview with Android app support. It's just guessing now.
I think the bigger question is if Android apps will actually be valuable. I don't know that anyone was finding Windows lacking in any meaningful way.

Well, we've seen this before on Chrome OS of course. I think most people would say even though they can run Android apps on Chrome, they seldom do since most people always have their phone on them, plus usually the chrome/web equivalents to apps are better, plus you have a mouse and kb. I like the optionality though!!

We know that the android apps on windows 11 will be running on Amazon app store so their probably only gonna be apps and games that's on Amazon app store could still give us purpose to use a android emulator on windows 11 if this is true since some games may not be on Amazon app store on windows 11

Fair point. Personally, I'm looking forward to having a decent tablet-optimized Kindle app, and now that I'm thinking about it, Comixology.
I do think that Chrome OS is a different beast though. There's no existing app ecosystem on Chrome OS. For example, there are standalone apps that I want, like Slack, Photoshop, Skype, OneNote, etc. I can do most of this through web apps, but I don't necessarily want to. But Windows has these apps for me.
Hey,
I saw some recent articles about system storage taking up 60gb and i noticed the app reports 512gb as storage (which is never the case). Whats going on?
I am not sure I believe those articlesto be honest and take some of their comments with a pinch of salt.
Firstly, according to their "detailed analysis" my system is apparently taking up 96gig.

Secondly, This article: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/202...d-android-build-somehow-uses-60gb-of-storage/
"First, Samsung is notorious for having a shoddy software division that pumps out low-quality code. The company tends to change everything in Android just for change's sake, and it's hard to imagine those changes are very good."
What? So any company that decides to use their own app, ie Samsung Email, must be low quality?

1TB version?
Yes I have the 1GB version, but I also just read that:
"Worth noting that "System" also includes anything on the data partition that's not attributed to apps or shared storage. A significant portion of the 60 GB is likely this miscellaneous system data, which varies depending on usage."

That 20 gb apps is stock?
I assume the 20gb are my non-system apps.
But the 96 also includes data that is not on the system partition that is unclaimed, basically its more complex than it seems, not just what we would have once considered teh system partition.
Well I don't know about you guys but I'm getting ****ed the most here btw this is after a data format and then full setup...
Edit:
Ignore me and my stupidity, once I gave it the permission it needed, it now recognised what belongs to what. The Apps now take 85GB and the system is now just 57GB.

When you look at my screenshot, there's that information symbol on the right instead of amount of used space, click on it and it'll ask for permission. Then it'll split it up correctly.

ok so permissions was already set, still 94.60GB for system, which is lower than earlier so prove its not fixed.
Was trying to do some cleanup -- guess I managed it a bit.

So, I'm confused, what is actually taking up so much space? Also, I'm guessing you didn't format data before setting up your phone like me, right? And just out of curiosity, what did you cleanup/delete and where?
I used Smart Switch to basically copy over my data which worked for the most part but I dont trust some apps notifications from when I did the same from my S10+
Well as far as cleanups, I have been manually wiping data and cache on some applications (too many to name and prob quite risky), uninstalling some apps that I am sure were s21 specific such as the LED case, got rid of Voice Recorder, some other AR Emjoi stuff where it could - didnt keep a list. Uninstalled secure folders, too many things to really name.
I think system is not only the system partition but perhaps even misc data under /sdcard/data/ or obb etc. etc.
I am just messing about really.
hello everyone I have 60 GB which means 4 times on other devices, I hope someone can find a way to debloat on the s23 ultra
New System without anything:
after giving permission its 56,49 GB of System
The answer is actually very simple and explained in the article below.
If you notice, when you buy a hard drive, they advertise it as 512GB but when you look in the OS, it's actually 476GB.
This is because, if you read the small characters, they calculate their GB using 1000 bytes multiplicator while in reality, it is 1024.
So if we do the math :
512Gb x 1000 = 512 000 MB x 1000 = 512 000 000 KB x 1000 = 512 000 000 000 bytes.
Now if we actually calculate the real space usage as computers calculate it we do :
512 000 000 000 / 1024 = 500 000 000 KB / 1024 = 488 281 MB / 1024 = 476 GB
In the Samsung app though, you see storage space being 512GB, not the real size of 476GB (most likely to avoid regular user confusion) so to compensate for this missing space, they add up that space to the system category. In this case, 512GB - 476GB = 36GB meaning the actual OS and system files take 22GB total.
The smaller the drive, the lesser the difference. Which is why it looks like system takes less space on a 256GB phone than it does on a 1TB phone.
One UI 5.1 bloatware is not consuming 60 GB storage on new Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus or Galaxy S23 Ultra
Recently there have been reports that One UI 5.1 reserves upwards of 60 GB storage for system partitions on the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra. Samsung may continue to insist on pre-installing third-party apps on One UI, but claims of 60 GB in bloatware are far from true.
www.notebookcheck.net
I checked the sizing on my s22U currently and the system is also taking 68gb of storage. I still have plenty of storage and I am not worried about it. As long as it's not slowing the phone down, and it is not, it's fine.
They really should use separate partitions like pixels do.
My System 52.93GB. Phone 12/512GB.
