Anyone used this app yet? Its on the play store and it looks decent but may just be another regular battery extender. I have it "learning" now...

My friends use it on their Moto G, and it works pretty good. Better than any other battery saver, according to them.

Yea looking to see what settings people are using

I just installed this as well. I always had good luck with this one on previous androids. I will post up my settings after its done " learning "

I have it installed on my og moto x and I saw a difference in battery after a few days after it completed its setup process. Also you need to go into the settings and enable low power mode

Where in the settings is that option? Something in the phone itself or in Battery Guru?

You enable Low Power Mode within BatteryGuru. You can set it to activate automatically after your battery dips below a specific percentage. It lets you also specify the actions you want the phone to do, such as reduce screen brightness, reduce app refreshes, disable data/wifi/bluetooth, and basically anything that can eat at your battery life.
I've used the app with other snapdragon powered phones and it does provide a significant boost in battery life. I'm currently using it on my Galaxy S5 and it helps extend an already long battery life. I'm excited that my custom Moto X is currently out for delivery right now, I keep checking the door hoping it arrives!

Anyone have any results? Particularly any noticed performance loss?
Thanks

It just turns radios on and off, there's nothing you can't do yourself just as easily.

Yes it does causes battery drain, maybe because it wants us to enable location services for its group of features to work! thats weird, i dont understand why a battery saver application wants location services to save battery. I uninstalled it and got the Greenify apps, works quite well!

Wow there is no way according to this.

Battery saving kernel?

I have a Samsung Vibrant and it's running CM7 7.1.0.1 with the following kernel
2.6.35.12-gdf10700
My problem is that the process "cell standby" has been killing my battery for the past few weeks or so. I'm looking for a new kernel that won't drain my battery so quickly.
Thanks in advance.
Im also noticing cell standby drains my battery pretty bad. Even with Ultimate defender
Have you tried Bali-CM, 99Problemz, or Streamline?
I installed Bali, but I'm not sure how to configure Voodoo Image.
Have you tried rebooting your phone after taking it off the charger? That has fixed my drain issues and lets the phone go into deep sleep properly.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
For me the stock CM7 kernel works best. I am on the latest nightly.

What are u doing to get this kind of bat use? Is it just the latest build? What modem are you running?
Including 8 - 9hrs sleep (periodically waking to fiddle with World of War), I get 24hrs or slightly more on a single charge with MIUI (same backbone as CM7). I simply freeze or uninstall any apps that use battery that I don't need, such as Gallery, Music, File Explorer, etc. I'm also using an Epic 4G Touch 1800mah battery ($20 from Mobilecityonline) and am using the Glitch ML kernel for some ridiculous undervolting (in my signature).

i just called them up, my phone was still in warranty, so i had one free replacement, just give support a call, let them know your having battery issues and you should be able to get one
Yep, this phone rules. Love the fact that it works so good as a PHONE too, the way they all should. Motorola has it down. My best since the latest update was over 40 hours, with a few hours worth of phone calls.
Wow that's awesome. Now did you do anything else special like turning off data etc.

I use custom data saver mode set to turn off data automatically after 15 min all day and night. That way I don't have to bother switching data on and off manually. Plus, it comes on very fast when I turn the screen on. I do keep BT and WIFI off when not in use, brightness at 25%. I also use the built in task killer to auto kill a few apps that want to keep running, like Facebook. I'm locked, but rooted running stock rom, and I used battery calibrator app after the update which helped. Although, before the update I was getting pretty much the same battery life.
And with me, believe it or not, I have the brightness all the way down, (you'd be surprised how bright the screen still is!!!!!) That's my only real secret to even better battery life

I did the same thing with moto, except i was getting great battery life to begin with. I just wanted a second battery.
One thing that I don't get though is why the phone always wakes up on it's own. My heroc and Evo 3D didn't do that, with the same apps installed. It kinda concerns me.

Just wanted to post new battery settings:
- Running Skinny ROM, unlocked, rooted
- Actually stopped overclocking the phone - max is 1000 Mhz
- Undervolt @ -75mV
- Juice Defender - Customized Settings (wondering if Aggressive is better)
- I did go through two nights on Airplane mode 14hrs
- Alarm I hear is what causes the phone to be "awake" at night...
Well, I'd say it's been pretty impressive...though I didn't text much and wasn't on too many phone calls, I'd say 24 hours of use w/ 10% left isn't too shabby. I could have probably gotten another couple of hours.

[Q] High Screen Battery Usage Normal?

Screen always uses a lot of battery power, but if you wanna reduce this, you can lower you brightness.
My screen always uses the bulk of my battery. Even with brightness almost all the way down. I had been getting about the same battery life as you with minimal usage. Then I bought a 1900mah Anker battery and get 14 hours with 50% still left.

Lol I don't use that either or ever take my sync off, I depend heavily on my emails, especially for school and my little phone fixing venture. :cyclops:
Please note that those values are relative. If for example wifi uses up more energy than the screen, the screen will show a lower % value although using the same amount of energy. So in one of the previous Screenshots I would be rather more concerned about my idle usage being higher than the screen usage

[Q] Brightness control at 5% battey level

At 5% or lower, the screen is forced to go dim and I loose the ability to set brightness. Both in settings and by pulling down notif. bar. Is there any way to turn off this force-to-go-dim?

Forced dim for battery level below 5% is normal. If it automatically dims when it is over 5% battery then that's a bug. I never experienced the dim bug.
You really shouldn't let your battery get that low anyway, lithium batteries don't like being discharged that much.

Sometimes I can't help it but I'm using third party battery so I'm not too bothered. I got them for less than £5 for 3500 mah, been using them since I got my Mega (over 5 weeks now) and never had problems.
The advice I gave is valid but with batteries so cheap these days I'm not sure it matters any more.
Do you find your 3500mAh batteries actually last longer or about the same?

Can't tell as I've never used the battery that came in the box. I'm keeping all accessories pristine for selling it on. Anyway, I get over 24 hours for light use and 10 hours with heavy use on the third party battery.
Cheers, that sounds much the same as I'm getting.

I can see the caution of using lithum battery. But at the times when I am out of immediate reach of a charger and a replacement battery, and I need an extra minute to finish an email or text, it becomes counter productive.

[APP] Snapdragon™ BatteryGuru

We know that the Snapdragon 800 is a power house, but compared to the other major competing SOC (Samsungs 5410 exynos octa-core) its not the best with battery life. Thats primarily due to the clock speed. So Snapdragon have released an app in an attempt to combat this. **UPDATE: October 24, 2013**
Playstore Link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xiam.snapdragon.app
"Extends battery performance and improves overall user experience by intelligently making changes that optimise device functionality in phones with Snapdragon mobile processors"
• Delivers longer battery life with fewer charges, acting as a battery life extender
• Intelligently learns how you use your Snapdragon-powered smartphone and optimises your device without disabling smartphone functionality
• Requires no user configuration - Snapdragon BatteryGuru automatically learns and adjusts the smartphone settings so you don’t have to
After a brief 2-4 day introduction period, Snapdragon BatteryGuru learns the user’s behaviors and then notifies the user that it is ready to extend the battery life and improve the experience. Snapdragon BatteryGuru continues to operate in the background, deepening its understanding of the user and further optimising the experience over time.

Yeah.. I'm thinking if used in conjunction with 'stamina mode' it would be even better.
But used instead, then it would be a good solution if you would rather be notified of every alert.
Learns about your location, and what to turn on and turn off. Sounds good, but only time will tell...
My gf try it on his phone (i9505 Snapdragon).
Not bad application, but very bad for her, to save power this app will stop connection from your apps.
If you set the soft to don't stop connection for all apps you want, like Facebook, Mail, and some other, your battery will be sucked by the Snapdragon soft...
Better way to use Stamina or "Eco battery" mode.
Can't see any battery gain.

Bump! Anyone tried this in conjunction of Stamina Mode? Or do we need to disable Stamina?
