heelo u dont need this option
just go ahead and download this app app2sd from google play store (i cant post links)
it sends apps from your device storage to the sd

Those apps don't work. They use android's native app2sd to provide that function which is disabled by the manufacturer in my tablet.

Newbie of App installation

I know stock 2.2 can install app on sd,
but how could I force them to do it everytime I install if they can?
And is there anyway to move them easily to sd instead of doing it one by one in the application setting?
by installing on sdcard, does it has any advantages except saving the internal rom space? (like faster if I install them on class 10 sd)
In the stock application setting, it is so sloooooow to get into and check each apps permission. Is there any way to check the permissions for all the apps easily?
I have almost 100 apps and want to check if there r any apps that uses more than enough permission. ( I check every time when I install, but still want to check it again =D )

how do i do that?
go to menu setting applications and click on some apps you downloaded and there should be serveral options one is clear data uninstall and for apps that are compatable there should be a option on move to sd or download a app called app2sd but the probably wouldn't work until you move some app there in the first place..

If youbrooted, install lucky patcher, it will remove unused odex automatically. You can install again your app after that.

Doh!
OK, figured out what it was.
I had been messing about , trying to get my S3 to install apps on the micro-SD card (known error, see: http://www.chainfire.eu/articles/113/Is_Google_blocking_apps_writing_to_SD_cards_/ ).
I had used these [1] instructions to set-install-location to "2". Alas, that did not make it possible to store apps on the micro-SD card :crying:, however, I forgot to change it back to "0" :silly:
I've changed it back to "pm set-install-location 0" and the BBC Olympics app now installs :good:

Ah, thanks for the tip,- not quite what I had but it put me on the track. I have ROM Toolbox Pro and had tried making the default App install location on the Ext SD - unclicked and now updates work.

[Req]coursera app move download folder

The default download location of official coursers app is the phone memory - and the app downloads videos for offline viewing so you can fill it up very quickly. Such module should be simple to do.

You can use FolderMount, no need to a module.

As great an app that foldermount is it must be made clear that it only moves the data and obb from games and apps. For anything else you'll need link2sd or similar.
I can see where the op is going though.. It would be a useful module especially if you can redirect any folder you like to the sdcard, except system for obvious reasons!.
Hi,
I tried foldermount on a device with only small amount of internal memory. I successfully linked the folder to the sdcard outside of data\data\ and it seemed that 300MB have been moved. But when I try install more apps, I get a Out of space dialog box: xxx couldn't be installed. Free up some space and try again.
Also, how to figure out how much spaces I left to install further apps?
Thanks
p.s the device has android 4.2.2 and w/ 512MB RAM, 8GB ROM
p.s.2 you may ignore this post, I will try testing it with an actual external sdcard later.

document settings for sd card.

Where's the document settings in miui 8 where i can grant sd card access for installed apps
@MasterSajid
Find the "Documents" app in installed apps and enable it.
'MIUI Optimization' disables it on every reboot.
You should be prompted by the apps to grant access when required. Not all apps request this.
I assuming your using a Marshmallow rom.
If it is for TiBu, see here .

Go to Installed apps, under All tab you will find "Documents" at the end of the list. Open it and enable it.
If you making a file transfer using ES explorer etc, Just select root storage as your internal.
That's it, you're good to go!
What will happen if i turn off miui optimisation
