Wireless charger?? - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

I'm rocking the zero lemon battery and since I've bought plenty of chargers and none seem to fix my slow charging problems is there any wireless chargers? Will me using the zero lemon battery not allow me to use a wireless? Also if all this is fine, does anyone have any recommendations??

Even though you can try to use that battery with wireless charging it won't fix your slow charging rate. Wireless charging goes max to 0.6 A (600 ma) when it comes to charging. So it's 1/3 the speed of your regular wall socket charger.

When I say slow charging I mean it comes up on my screen saying charge it with the cards given. It charges about 30% in about 9-10 hours.

Something is wrong with your charger or cable then. My ZL charged from ~78%-100% in about an hour last night. The plug adapter that came with the phone and a USB cable I've used for a while, from a Nook I think. Wireless will be VERY slow. It's fine for topping off, but if you drain it down you will want to use a wired charger. You can use a wireless charger with the ZL, there's some info in one of the threads talking about what you need to order. You can't use the contacts on the back of the phone for it, you need to use one of the low profile USB plug type.
If you want fast charging you need to use the adapter that came with your phone, or another known good adapter, and a good quality USB cable. It doesn't have to be USB3, a USB2 cable will work fine, but it needs to be good quality. Monoprice is a good place for inexpensive, but good quality cables.
If you are connecting to a computer USB port, you will charge slow unless it's a USB3 with a USB3 cable.

I've bought a couple chargers on eBay and they said it was OEM, but neither have worked. One was a Motorola and the other was one specifically made for the Note 3, or so it said.

Try a usb 2.0 cable to charge it.
The little extra part for the 3.0 seems to have gone bad in my phone after only 4 months.
If I charge it with the cable that came with it, I have the results you are saying.
If I charge it with a 3 year old usb 2.0 style charger, it charges fine.
Good luck!

Get a usb voltage/current tester. They are like $10. You can test all your chargers and cords and find the under performers.

My phone with zerolemon charges fast with the original samsung charger, and my Asus t100 charger. Fast being relative, from 20% to full it can take 4 hours or so. I've never timed it 100%

Yes, it drops to 97% straight away. This is because it drains in the background a little as the charger doesn't trickle charge. See this for an explanation http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/1...bump-charging-and-inconsistent-battery-drain/

Faster Charging 2amp Touchpad Charger for $4.99

I noticed a lot of people want a fast charger for the Note. This charger is for the Touchpad. I have this and it works really well. It charges faster than the OEM charger that came with the Note.
Not to mention, it is on sale right now for less than $5. Go grab one. From past experience, I used this at 15% battery life and charged for an hour and I was back over to 80%.:victory:

Yes, it is a micro USB cable. One end is USB and other is micro USB. The cable length is longer than most phone cables. I haven't measured it, but from my plug to my desk, I still have excess cable compared to the original one from the phone.
Thank you, getting one!
This have been discussed hundreds time before....
That 1amp is the output of the charger which forwards the current to kernel of the device... NOTE can only intake 1 amp current... ( remove your battery and read the dam sticker :thumbup
Even though you will supply 2 3 4 5 amp... The maximum in would be 1 amp ONLY...
SECONDLY, micro usb cables have a restriction of carrying current... They cannot pass more than 1 amp current successfully... Therefore galaxy tab series does not come with micro usb slots....
Lastly my recommendation would be NOT to waste money on any other chargers...

It has been discussed, but it DOES charge faster than a conventional 1amp charger. If you don't have the charger and have nothing to compare with, then I don't think you can say it does not work.
Go check FCC about the charge. Also, the cables provided DOES carry a 2amp charge. Our note can handle fast charging but throttles down to a slower charging rate after 80%.
having a micro usb slot or not have a micro usb slot has nothing to do with the current it can handle.
Ipads and Iphones have the same connector but yet one has a 1amp charger and the other a 2amp charger.

As an HP TouchPad owner, I can confirm that the cable provided with the charger are 'special'. My TP will not charge with any other MicroUSB cable connected to the official charger, the same cables which won't charge the TP will charge the Note. (I also own the HP touchstone dock, which the TP spends most of it's life sitting on.)

I have four different wall chargers, including two of this HP barrel adapter (one that came with the TouchPad, one that came with the Touchstone). With the supplied cable, it does charge the TouchPad very quickly. From webOS, the net charge rate is about 1.6 A with the screen on, so probably close to 2 A coming out the USB port.
However, when you plug a Note into this charger, the Note will still only draw 1 A. I have other AC chargers that are also able to supply 1 A to the Note, so in that respect this HP charger isn't anything special. However, it is only $5, which is a good deal.

I've found that the microUSB cable that comes with the Note, when paired with the HP TouchPad's AC charger, will supply 2 A. At least, that's what the OS reports: /sys/devices/platform/usb_gadget/current-mA shows "2000". Plugging the TouchPad into the Note's AC charger shows a value of "900". Plugging it into my laptop's USB port drops that value down to "500", as expected.
I bought two a week ago off Amazon for $10 each. $5 each with free shipping is a steal. I picked up three more. Thanks for posting this deal. I get 1A charging with either the stock charger or TP charger. I like to have a few extra chargers to sprinkle around at home or work (for my Note and the other devices I own that charge off USB.... including a TP).

When you charge your phone using this HP microUSB cable, do you have issue with NO DEEP SLEEP when unplugging the Note from the charger?
There has been issues reported in XDA where, depending on the USB cables used to charge the Note (connected to computer OR power charger), if you unplug the Note, it will not go DEEP SLEEP, causing significant power drain.
This does NOT happen when the Note is charged using the cable that came with the Note.
Download Current Widget from the play store. Add widget to home screen and you will realize that your phone is not charging any more than 1 amp as designed.
Try the usb out from your pc and you will see about half an amp.

I charge my Note overnight using my Touchpad's MicroUSB cable plugged into the Samsung charger, and I don't experience any difference in power drain.
Where is that post from the guy who put all these petty arguments to rest with scientific tests of all the various options and results??
Good lord people it's a charger for a phone .. no need to get so heated!

great price!!!
ordered 3 of them
the price is way cheaper than just a single micro usb cable shipped from other stores
i have 3 already
1 at work, 2 for home.
definitely faster than OEM. I charge overnight, no issues. had for around 5-6 months now. and i can use the phone while charging.
fact is that it DOES charge faster.
i recommend it

Yup I bought an extra one on Amazon because of how slow my old charger charges it. It's like trying to charge a laptop with a phone charger haha you need the more powerful charger. My car charger claims its 1amp too but I feel like it charges super fast too.

I have the same prob. Charged about 7% in 30 mins (using the supplied charger). Charges fine when I use my N7 charger though. I'm gonna have to check the charger when I get home.
Just for the hell of it, here is my how my charge is going right now:
7% - plugged in at 3:22
21% - 3:31
33% - 3:42
44% - 3:52
57% - 4:04
83% - 4:28
For what its worth I don't have this issue with charging - s4 charges comparable to s3 HOWEVER i am not using stock charging that came with the box, I am using cables i have had from before and sometimes even use the USB to wall plugs from Apple and/or BB or whatever I have had lying around - seems to work well.
With a 5V 2 amp charger it goes like a bat out of he'll, using my thunderbolt's 5V 1 amp charger it's quite slow.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda premium
i have noticed that having it plugged into either a car charger or a computer, it does NOT charge very quickly... not to the point where it is annoying but, slow enough to notice a difference...
If i take the cable from the box and plug it into my USB hub (it has it's own power source also) if im using it for much other then file transfers i can still lose power off battery. It just seems to slow the battery drain instead of just charging slower then plugged into the wall with the 5V 2amp plug. Now obviously if I'm not doing much with the phone while on the USB it will charge but much slower then the wall charging

Same here...on stock charger my phone charges v3ry quickly. Are you rooted with special ROM? Are you using non samsung charger?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
Ok, there's something else going on here. Maybe its software related.
My S4 will only charge fast on the supplied charger. The cable doesn't seem to matter; I tested a bunch of them. I have an assortment of other 2A chargers and none do better then barely keeping up with power useage; hardly any charging at all. Again, the usb cord doesn't seem to make any difference.
Now, I've read mention of a "fast charge" feature that the kernel developers are "turning on". I haven't found a good explanation of what exactly that means but it appears to me that Samsung tried to make the device only charge at the full rate using their chargers and at a minimal trickle charge rate for all others even if they are capable of the full 2A output.
Then there is the problem of buying extra Samsung chargers since there appear to be a lot of knock-offs that will not get the phone to charge at full rate.
What a stupid thing to be such a PITA.
Anyone have any solid info on this?
just about every samsumg device either needs a kernel hack or an adapter to get fast charge off of a non-samsung charger. you can grab a few of these:
http://dx.com/p/usb-data-charging-extension-cable-for-samsung-p1000-black-91141
and use them with just about any 2amp charger with no problems on my old galaxy tablets or my galaxy note and nexus getting fast charge(nexus even charges faster on the 2amp - hope i don't blow it up!).
Fast charge from my understanding is just turning off the data connection when plugged into a computer. This allows for higher usb charge rates, it also helps certain wireless charging setups. I am coming from a gnex where this was the terminology, I assume it's similar. Fast charge shouldn't do much for you if you are having trouble with 2amp chargers, but maybe in this case Samsung limits through put when it doesn't recognize the charging unit? If fast charge tweaks somehow disable this, then I guess it's possible you would enjoy increase in charge rate though I have no verification on that.

Well, I have to discount my own theory. I have some off-brand adapter and cable to charge in my car that works great.
I sure would like to know what's going on with the chargers in my house.

There's a problem with semantics going on. Fast charge is exactly what you're used to it being on the GN. What's being referenced here is quick charge, a feature of later Snapdragon SoC's.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
fast charging is rapid charge where near full power is transferred. in the gn2, gnote 10.1, gnex, and gtab10.1 the max i got was ~1600mA with all my 2.1A chargers including the samsung charger. the rapid charge continues to 90% and then switches to trickle - anywhere from 400-900mA til 100%. without the adapter you're stuck at trickle, even at under 90%. some chargers seem to have it built in to rapid charge, but most don't.
i've never gotten a full 2100mA from any charger yet.
you can find schematics on how to build your own adapter in one of these samsung boards. i think there was a very detailed one in the gnote10.1 forum.

I got two of those a week or so ago myself from eBay (same model charger ETA-U90JWE, different seller, etc.) and can confirm that they QuickCharge. I was a bit worried after reading some reviews on Amazon.com that there are knockoffs of the same model that perform poorly but I guess I got lucky.
Those that have it -- does the USB cable work with the original charger too? and with other 2amp chargers (like my car charger)? I always leave a AC charger in my car just in case, but if it's going to take 5 hours to charge my phone, it becomes pretty pointless unless I'm staying overnight somewhere.

Here is one I ordered from Amazon, it arrived today.
http://www.amazon.com/reVOLT-c2-Dua...=1384487213&sr=8-3&keywords=scosche+revolt+c2
I just tested it: I have a 110v wall plug to cigarette charger socket adapter. Plugged my old cig charger into it, used the white usb cables I described in a previous post in this thread, and got slow charge message. Then I took out that old cig charger and plugged in the new Scosche reVolt c2, used the same cable and got no slow charge message. Thanks smacklayer - I bought one just like yours on eBay.
One has to be careful not to get a gray market knock-off, but it's hard to tell exactly. Even on Amazon, there are lots of complaints of chargers that appear to be OEM but aren't.
BTW: how does one tell if their G2 is NOT "fast charging"? Is there some indication?
I have a PowerGen 2A car charger with usb cable that I purchased a year ago for my N7. I plugged my G2 in the other day and I didn't see any visual cues that something was "slow charging" and it appeared to charge just as fast as the LG G2-supplied charger. So, I've been wondering about a "fast" or "slow" charging indicator.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Battery drains while navigating and CHARGING?

How is this even possible? While using NAV, my G3 is plugged into the car charger is still decreasing in battery life. Albeit slower than when not charging, but it still goes down even though it is charging. What gives?
Using a charger bought at VZW.
Make sure the charger is 2.1 amp...if its a 1 amp, the combo of GPS, data, and screen on will still kill it.

Yup, totally depends on the charger. Some cheap ones are only .5A and most are 1A, which probably still isnt enough when using GPS and screen on.

How is an old iPhone charger going to help anyone with a G3? Also, what is "this quality"? I think you might've lost or misspelled a word there.

I had this problem starting all the way back on Galaxy Nexus - crappy chargers and cables do not provide enough power to run the phone and the screen. My research and trial and error on many chargers lead me to understand that not only do you need a good high power charger, you need a good cable too. I now run 18awg charge-only cables exclusively as well as a 2.1amp charger. This pair has worked on all my devices since including fast charging on my G2 and G3.
Note that a charge-only USB cable has the data pair shorted and will only work for charging - will not work for data transfer. However the wires inside are thick and work great cars or other situations where you don't need the cable for data.
This is what I use:

This company is from Hong Kong, but they have pretty fast shipping. It is the only place where I can find (affordable) heavy gauge USB cables.
Same Issue

I had the same issue with a store-bought charger. It also depends on the amperage output of your vehicle's outlet as well.
If anyone is looking for one with a retractable cable, I bought this one:
http://www.amazon.com/EZOPower-Micr...=8-2&keywords=2.1+amp+usb+charger+retractable

Quick Charge Works (kinda)

I got my phone today, and one of the first things that I did was test all of the Chargers.
My first thought is that the one plus cable that I bought is very high quality. Every charger that I tested, it charge faster than the cheapo ones that I bought on Amazon.
However, what I've been consistently surprised with is that using the same cable this phone charges faster on a Qualcomm quick charge 2 charger than it does on a standard USB charger. I've tested this with all sorts of Chargers around my house and I'm consistently seeing around 1500 when connected to a quick charger, and only a thousand when connected to a standard charger.
The USB C charger that came with the phone is significantly faster. However I wanted to share this so that for those others who bought all sorts of Qualcomm quick charge 2.0 Chargers, don't throw them out. They're still better than a regular charger.
Yeah on a good USB 3.1 cable (nice and thick) with my standard quickcharge charging block (7 ports, 60W total IIRC) I get 'charging rapidly' and it charges better than 1% a minute - about the same rate my N5 did on a much smaller battery. I've still not taken the google charger out of its box yet.. Need to get around to testing it even if I can't see myself using it.

I am curious as to what "standard" chargers you are using. I have a wall charger rated at 5v 2.1a (non-QC) per port and a car charger rated at 5v 2.4a (non-QC) per port, and both of those charge at 1500ma. Is it possible that your "standard" chargers are only rated for 5v 1a output?

Bought that one though still waiting on my phone. Like that it has micro USB too for other devices. Charges my HAM2 very fast.
Your results have nothing to do with them being QuickCharge bricks, I have a inline amp meter and I can get 1.5 on any brick with an amp rating high enough, not just my QC bricks that I was using with my Moto X. At least people will know if they have a QC brick they'll get at least that though.
I didn't know this thread existed. I'm getting what I think is pretty poor performance from the stock 6p charger. Please see this post:
