Okay so I realize that this question has probably already been asked more than once, however I'm brand new to not only this site but also to Android phones, so I couldn't find anything in my searches, but I'm hoping someone can point my in the right direction.
I am looking for a complete list of every app and/or system file that is safe to remove from the Xperia Z2, once it has been rooted, without hindering performance. My Z2 is the D6503 model and is running firmware 17.1.A.2.55 (not yet rooted).
Thanks in advance

Hi there, good afternoon.
This might be already answered, but I just wanted to be sure if it's possible or not.
I've recently bought an X10 Mini Pro, and updated it to 2.1, but it still doesn't look like I want it too, so I was wondering this...
Is it possible to take the OS off from this phone, trim/clean it, and put it back to the phone as I want it without all the junk and with the apps I really want on it?
If this is possible and has been answered many times then I'm sorry to ask again, please just point me in the right direction/post and I won't bother you all no more, many thanks
Well you cant take the ROM of yet etc... but you can use root explorer to delete the stock apps that you don't want.. [Need Root]
Check these links out:

Read carefully, hope this helps.

Hi there,
Well, that will be much easier that what I had in mind
Thanks for the links, I've had a quick look at them and they are quite interesting, only 2 questions pop up in my head now...
Will I be able to update my phone with future updates if I root it?
If I root it, can I get rid of the stock launcher forever and use something like Launcher Pro or Helix instead?
Thanks for the answers
Yes and yes
i do what the peopples are telling you , with very pretty results, but i just dont delete the apps, i replace them with other apks, example semchome.apk (default se launcher) with the helix apk (saved as semchome.apk) the same with the keyboard (save keyboard pro apk as se keyboard apk), and eventualy really remove useless stuff like se play now and games demos... its pretty similar to a clean rom now, regards

Well, many thanks to you all for the info, appreciated.
I'll start immediately reading on how to root the phone, I hope is not too complicated to do
Or you can just change your phone to a Spanish generic build (you probably have a Vodafone one), update via SEUS and you should have a clean phone.
The one advantage of this is that if there are future updates, and you use SEUS to get up to date you will not have the junk installed on your phone.
Regards.
Hi there,
How do I know what build do I have? I bought this phone new from eBay, and it was supposed to be locked to T-Mobile, although it came unlocked and without anything from T-Mobile in it, or nothing I can see anyway
I don't see any application apart from the basic Sony ones, and a couple of games, but nothing that tells me this phone is from T-Mobile... it'd be great if I could know somehow the build it's in it, so I can check if I could get a cleaner one
Thanks.
Before I start, let me first apologise to "the-old-man-across-the-road-who-shouts-when-step-on-his-lawn". I watched the video. I have searched the forum. read a full thread (50+pages) on various things but I am still a confused NOOB. I am happy with the concepts of android, just need some guidance:
I will try and keep them separate and precise. there is a screen grab of my model no./android vers/baseband vers/kernel and build attached (I hope). I am on ORANGE in the UK.
1. The "N" with what look like signal/wifi eminating (see attached) - what does it mean please?
2. I am on Orange, and as far as I am aware, the phone is NOT rooted, it has piles of bloatware which I don't use and have no intention of using, same for half the Samsung rubbish - a bunch of these just pop up and run, randomly... constantly with task manager closing them GRRR.
I viewed this thread and this one
now I am just confused which method should I use to root? which ROM/kernel? will this affect my ability to get the ICS update when it comes out?
3. Do I need to create a samsung account to check for updates? how do i go about updating the OS when the ICS update is released for ORANGE?
My apologies if this is in the wrong place, the questions are answered else where etc. I did try, honest!
thank you in advance, a noob, soon hopefully to become an enlightened one
Hello,
I have this Samsung Galaxy S2 GT - I9100, which I originally rooted when it had Gingerbread 2.3.4, then using Mobile Odin I flashed it ICS 4.0.3, XXPLQ. Everything went smooth. Until a few hours later when a few apps started disappearing. 12 total. I tried restoring them with titanium backup (from a backup I had done before flashing ICS) but it won't let me do it. I can't reinstall the apps from Google Play either.
Any ideas on what should I do?
Please explain with as much detail as possible. I'm still new to the flashing roms world
Thanks,

hi and welcome to the forum.
to improve the chance of getting good answers, you should change the thread title to something like "disappearing apps after ics update" or something similar. just stating the device's name is redundant, as you are in a section of the forum, which deals exclusively with that model.
also, questions go in the q&a section, but don't worry, i reported it to be moved.
also, you should post, what specific apps you are talking about and of what kind they are, are they free or paid, are they generally available on the play store for your country? have you checked the play store from a pc to look for those apps? ...and so on. being really specific makes it way easier to help.
Hello, you are correct, i'm sorry for the title and lack of more info. I can't edit the thread title so, if you or any other moderator can do so, feel free to do it.
About my problem, I could not give more details because there was no much relevant info to give. There were 12 apps total that suddenly disappeared after flashing. Among those were:
2 games from Game Insight (Airport City and My Country)
Mobile Odin
Akdiko Reader
Mantano Free Reader
Complete Edition UEFA.com
Amazon.com Android App
Virtual City playground
Angry Birds Space Premium
and a couple more I can't recall
I didn't see anything in common among those apps, except the error was that it couldn't install on usb storage or sd card.
An hour ago, a friend of mine pointed out to me that I had a problem that I should look for the sd fix, and directed me to download CF Root 5.4 (I used CF Root 5.3 to root the phone after flashing the firmware).
Apparently there is a bug with 5.3 that caused this on some games and apps (no idea why). So, I flashed the new kernel root and all is well, I was able to restore the apps and data with Titanium.
I guess this same bug caused these apps to "vanish" in the first place.
Thanks for trying to help and sorry I failed stating my problem better. I hope now that I explained my issue and solution helps others.
If a any mod read this, please change the thread title accordingly.
Best regards,
formatting your phone is the best idea
Hi there!
I just want to ask a question, i know it's so noob, and against rules, but can you please recommend me the best or i mean i want to speed up my sgs2, i'm not satisfied with the performance of the official ics update from samsung kies. And i experience crashes with this.
Browsing the forum there's tons of different erent roms etc but what can you recommend that i should get? Thank you and i apologize

Hi everyone!
So long story short I used to have an Xperia Neo, and a few months ago, ending up in the xda developement section here, I decided to try and unlock the boodloader, root it, and put Cyanogenmod 11 on it, after hours and hours of googling.
That phone is now almost destroyed (mechanically, because of myself) but I have another Xperia, this time a Neo V, which I'd like to "improve" in this way.
I am wondering, anybody has any advice on how to go about it?
This is what I'm looking for:
- Have at least some modern apps working (whatsapp, spotify, messenger?)
- Have the ability to put them on SD card and not internal memory
- No bugs on common stuff like telephone, SMS and browser
- No extra battery drain than what I already have
Any advice how to go about it? Should I go the CM13 way? CM11? Is there even one stable custom mod anywhere I can find without bugs? My CM11 was rather buggy and didn't support most apps (no facebook messenger, etc), and I couldn't put all of my programs on the SD but just part of them.
Any help would be appreciated. Just something like "oh this mod works well and the links are still alive, go here *link*".
Hope I'm in the right section.
Just to be clear, I'm not asking "what is the best ROM", as I saw that is forbidden here.
I am asking: if I wanted the phone to run smoothly, what way should I go about it? Should I root it again and go Cyanogenmod? Should I look into other possibilities? Would I get a better result just going stock and using gapps and other apps that remove bloatware instead?
If anyone has got this phone to a good standard please just let me know how you did it and I'll be super grateful.
There are so many ways to go about it I honestly have no idea where to start with
Up, any recommendations at all?
Hi all,
I can't seem to find, at all, the firmware build number for my Xperia X after I update it to 7.1.1 through Concept. I believe it should be (34.2.A.0.273) but I can't find it properly stated anywhere in the "About phone" section of the settings.
This seems like a really stupid thing but I don't want to do anything on this phone (root, drm fix, etc) before being absolutely what's my firmware, could anyone lend a hand?
Thanks
