Hello, I have a noob question about TWRP. After I unlock the bootloader and download the adb program onto my PC, can I then install TWRP which will also root the phone? No need to do anything else to achieve root? Where does the SuperSU app come into play? Thanks.

When you reboot to system from TWRP, it will notice that you're not rooted and ask you if you want to root. (Default is yes!) It will put a copy of SuperSU on your device. Reboot, run SuperSU and it will ask you to upgrade. Let it do so using the "normal" method. (I don't think the update via recovery option is working on this phone.)
Okay, thanks. So SuperSU is what roots the phone?

] PLEASE HELP!!Su binary not installed and SuperSu cannot install it.
I have Xperia U awhich i had rooted with Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18 withouth unlocking the bootloader.
Recently my phone failed to start at the screen got stucked on the Xperia logo so i had to repair the installation by updating the phone with ICS from update service.
After that my phone seems to be half rooted, it installs the root apps like SuperSu , busybox but it has lost the su binary files.
The SuperSu gives the error 'Su binary not installed and SuperSu cannot install it'. I know this is a common problem i searched a lot on it and the best solution i fiund was to flash the SuperSu zip file from Clockwork Mod recovery.
But i dont have CWM as i didnt unlock my bootloader while rooting and i tried to install it but it didnt get installed as there was no su binary.
I cant un-root my phone i cant re-root it. I have tried everything but nothing works.
Is there no way i can have root access again?
you will stuck at the boot image cause u need to unlock boot loader, for the root, you need to aware that the ICS 4.0.1.a.0.283 easier to root but 4.0.1.b.0.112 and above most root software cant do the root, u better install those rom to root, and after you root, just install x-part and u will install the CWM easily through the apps, hope is help for you

Sorry i cant understand what you are trying to say. My problem is i am already rooted and i can install SuperSu but it gives error that su binary is not installed. I tried to unroot and re-root from 'Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18' but the process gets stuck midway and nothing changes.
The only possible solution i found to install su binary was from CWM but i dont have cwm and there is no way to install cwm without supersu permission.
Is there any other way to install su binary?
Or is there any other way to install cwm without it needing su binary?

It gets stuck at the reboot stage. It doesn't reboot the phone when i restore the Root Me file.
When i rebooted it manually after waiting for a long time, it corrupted my phone with icons turning black and phone slowing down. So i had to repair the insatllation again with update service.
If i re-root it with some other method or maybe with 'Bin4ry v31', do you think it will work?
.
Please help! Anyone?

If you have TWRP installed that is all you need to root this device on KitKat. From TWRP reboot the device and it will tell you if it's missing root and offer to install SuperSU for you if it is. Once the device reboots tap the SuperSU notification that pops up (or open the program normally if there is no notification) and select the option to install the binaries using the recovery script.
Hello alI, I need some help and advice. I have rooted my Sony Xperia Z2 D6503 (5.1.1) using Kingroot. I have installed SuperSU and it requires a TWRP or CWM recovery to update the binary. Where can I find the right one for my phone? The ROM manager app can`t find one. Also a tutorial would be helpful on how to install it. Now, my next question is: can I flash ROMs, install themes, enjoy all the other things of a rooted phone without a CWM recovery? Could you also guide me through my next steps after rooting? Any suggestions will be helpful and appreciated.
Super su doesn't require recovery to update the binaries... There is an option (when the su app says that the binaries need to be updated) that allows you to try and install the binaries via installing them and then simply rebooting your phone.
Additionally, search for some sort of recovery as 99,99% of the ROMs are meant to be installed via recoveries.
If you want to do something more than just rooting your phone you have to use a recovery.
Hi, thank you in advance for everything
I have bought one year ago a so&so phone (65$ on AE) : a FLUO N device.
It isn't a good phone, but it the least but not last i could choose at that time.
Well, all i want to do is to root it with supersu or with other tool. I can't find any recovery tool compatible for the device so in my lack of knowledge i haven't find any method to root this android 8.1 phone. KingRoot doesn't work, KingoRoot idem. Neither framaroot or other. I want to try magisk but it seems that it's a root tool but i can use it only if phone is already rooted. It seems that i can root it with a recovery tool, but it seems that i can't install a recovery tool if my phone isn't already rooted (and i can't find any recovery tool compatible with this little $hit )
I really hope that i'm wrong and so i'm here asking.
So i'm here asking if there's a method to root it simply by adb pushing a file in it. In Developer options it has "Unblock OEM -- It allows to unblock bootloader" enabled.
There's something i can do?
Thanky you so much in advance again.
Dav
@zatecaz
To root a device's Android neither Magisk nor any Custom Recovery ( TWRP et. al ) is needed. SuperSU should do the job.
If i dowload and install supersu apk when i open it this is what it says "Root undetected -- How To Root". If i click "how to root" it redirects me to supersu.com/faq/howtoroot that fails to load.
Now, i download either supersu apk that flashable zip. Is there a method to flash supersu.zip without a TWRP/CWM?
TWRP: doesn't exist a package for this phone. Does exist a generic twrp image for every android 8.1 ?
CWM: i could install it from Rom Manager but to do so the phone need to be already rooted. Or where can i find a cwm.img to be installed by adb and fastboot?
So without custom recovery, could i use my phone recovery and adb sideload to push supersu.zip ?
Thank you again

Yes, that's the correct method.
I have a pocophone f1 which I attempted to root.
I already unlocked it using my MI account with MI unlocker on windows.
I installed TWRP 3.2, as well as SupersU.zip in TWRP.
I go and check root access using various root checker apps from playstore but i have no root access. One of them says that my supersu $Path does not contain a binary.
I tried uninstalling superSu using the supersSu uninstaller.zip in TWRP and then attempted flashing magisk, but i got the error about patched boot image. I wiped everything and then flashed stock global ROM for miui 11. Still i get the patched boot image when trying to flash magisk.
Any ideas?

Just uninstall SuperSU root and root again with magisk! There is unroot option in the SuperSU app which you have to use or:

@Silvershot
My POV: Noone needs to install TWRP to root phone's Android.

It's clear that something has gone very wrong. Instead of wasting time with troubleshooting, I recommend that you restore the phone to its original state via re-flashing its Stock ROM and when that's done retry to root its Android the proper way.
FYI: Once TWRP got installed on phone, you can't get rid off of it unless you re-flash phone's Stock ROM.

If you flash phone's Stock ROM then neither Magisk nor TWRP is existing , you can't run either of them ...

I could but I don't want to: IMO you simply didn't get it - you do anything without questioning the meaning.
Happy fiddling around with Magisk etc.pp.

You don't have to disable encryption to use magisk. Atleast I think from my experience.
This is the step-by-step tutorial.
1. Flash this global stock miui with TWRP. https://c.mi.com/in/miuidownload/detail?device=1700355 (if this is not the official ROM please correct me, there are a lot of fakes there)
2. Flash Magisk with TWRP. Download and flash it from this github repo. DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT FROM ANYWHERE ELSE!
https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases
3. Reboot
