When I'm viewing a video doesn't mater if it's saved on my memory, micro sd or if it's online the video pauses when a screenshot is taken. I would have to click on the play button to resume or wait for the video to buffer again. I've tried third party apps & it's the same result. I'm on Jelly Bean version 4.1.2 & versions prior to this have this issue as well. I have updated to 4.3 before the problem was fixed the video would continue to play but I did not like 4.3. Lots of features were missing, battery was horrible so I could not stay on 4.3. Is there anyway to fix this problem 4.1.2? I have noticed the animation of the swipe is different in 4.3. You actually see the swipe crossing the screen but in 4.3 it's just a frame around the sides of the screen. I have tried third party apps & they have the same result. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

I have noticed that, when filming in 720p and 1080p, that the video camera has a tendency to lag when panning to the side after it has focused --> After the camera focuses, and I turn the camera to the sides or up/down, it lags for a second, creating a chopping effect (lagging).
I have stock Gingerbread installed on it (it came on it when purchasing the phone), and have not updated to stock ICS yet.
Does anyone else have this, or have noticed this problem? I'd really like to solve this mystery as soon as possible.
Thank you,

Just a suggestion:
Have you already tried to install the S2 Camera update from Samsungs Apps?
This was an update for the camera firmware of the SGS2.
If you have already installed the update, this app will show it right after the installation.
Good luck !
I just updated Samsung Apps, and am now in the program.
I guess this is a known program then, since they have put out an update for the camera...
How do I find the S2 Camera Update?
Thank you for your reply,

you can google for the same r try with Sammobile.com
Lag as you described is not firmware related as I never had it, but you can try.
Also what you can do I'd you are using micro sdcard as storage, change it to internal and check.
Unless issue is frame rates, blur when panning.
I am fully stock, no root or unlock with the newest jelly bean for AT&T on my optimus g. I noticed when using chrome to view videos on websites the video turns black as soon as the on screen controls fade in full screen mode.
This is happening when using the newest version of chrome. is anyone else having this issue?
Here's how I reproduce the issue.
view any website with embedded video players such as gawker.
play an embedded video
set it to full screen
on my phone as soon as the on screen controls fade away, the video also becomes black.
I'm seeing this too
It's just an issue with chrome. It happens to us Sprint users as well. Use the stock browser. You won't have the problem.
ME TOO!
I would love to use Chrome and all of ts features but the lack of fullscreen video playback is a deal breaker for me. If you go back to the original version of Chrome that comes installed in the phone it works fine. But who wants an old version of Chrome? I mean the whole point of using the chrome browser is for all of its cool features and upgrades that happens when you update it. I left them a 1 start review on the comments hopefully they fix it.

Facebook messenger supports video messaging on android 4.3 and up. Using a custom rom, the i9100 should be able to use it, but when I try (with many various roms) it either doesnt work (doesnt attempt to even record) or records, but the progress indicator for uploading halts around 30% and while I can see the video by clicking on it (though the video is cut short for some reason), it is never uploaded. Has anyone else tried out this feature and had problems?
I have i9305. On all the custom Android 4.4.4 ROMs i tried i cannot play YouTube videos in browsers properly. The sound works, but graphics are bugged:
In Android browser:
Playing the video shows it as black screen with the Youtube text copied in the middle (see attached screenshot). Maximizing results in black screen, but which shows a video frame when phone orientation changes or screnshot is taken.
Navigating away from the video results in browser crash.
In Chrome:
Playing the video works nicely even with graphics, but maximizing again shows black screen, also briefly working on screen update (phone rotated etc).
Navigating away again results in browser crash.
Youtube app works fine, but i am afraid the bug might show for another site / game. I didnt install any Flash manually, so i think the problem is with HTML 5 support. When i reverted to 4.2.2 or used stock samsung 4.3 everything worked as it should.
So is it a problem with i9305 only or with Android 4.4.4? Or should i flash a new kernel or something? Thanks for info.
I do have the same issue on my GT I9300. I even tried a Lollipop ROM but the issue is still there. If anyone knows where is it come from

It seems to be an asop error. Get a mod to move this to the 9305 area for more help with your model.
Have you solved the problem?
Hi, have you solved this problem? Please share solution if you did.
Thanx
I'm looking for a solution for a video playback problem my LG-H930DS (SEA) has after the 8.0 Oreo update. When I start the phone everything is working well, but after a few minutes of normal usage the built-in videoplayer cannot play video recordings made by the phone itself. It says "Cannot play video - This file type is not supported" Then I have to restart the phone to get it working again. But it fails nearly every day. I wouldn't mind this failing because I can choose a different app to play the gallery videos, but the problem is that Snap-chat videos fail to play as well when this happens, until next restart. That's the bug I cannot have. Also when the phone gets into the state of not playing videos, the ringtones and alarm clock make no sound.
To start the problem I only have to open a few random web pages in chrome, open the gallery a few times, play some videos , and in a few minutes of this usage video playback crashes. MX player, VLC and youtube still work though.
I have done a lot of troubleshooting for this problem:
Full restore of the phone
Flashed different firmwares, H930DS20b, H930DS20d, and the european variant H93020d
Tried with no apps installed, other then preinstalled ones
Tried it in safe mode
But the problem always remains.
I always use the same google account. And after upgrading to 8.0 the problem does not seem to start until I restart the phone for the first time, after that it's constantly failing. Don't know if it starts when the memory gets close to full or not, but nothing else is failing on the phone.
I have now downgraded my phone to the Android Nougat 7.1.2 (H930DS10d) and this problem is not there, no matter how hard I try to replicate it.
I can only find one link on google where this problem is reported. (problem #6)
I have contacted LG Support, and they had never heard about this, and wanted me to send my phone in for repairs. But I'm not willing to pay for shipping from Europe to Asia, if this is just a software problem.
Is someone else getting this problem, or does know a fix or a workaround for it? Or is there a way for me to view the errors the phone is running into?
Sorry for the long post, hope someone is willing to read it and give me a little help
I finally found out what the problem is. It's actually just media files in the storage I use every day. These files only contain audio, but have the extension .ts. Video playback on the phone fails because the gallery is trying to create thumbnails of them to display. The workaround for the problem was to place a .nomedia file in the folder containing those files, to hide them from the gallery. After that the problem stopped. I've been using these files for years, and it has never been a problem until Android 8.
have you tried some other video player?
stock one is quite basic and thin.
Hi, yes I do use another players, but the gallery is failing video plaback in snapchat and stopping ringtones and alarms from working aswell, without using the stock player.
Same problem here with LG V30
I have the same problem with my phone I have the T-Mobile V30 and I have the same issue. I figured out not to take videos in 4k [email protected] works fine. But the moment I create a video at 4k it either starts playing and stops midway with sound continuing to play with frozen picture or it just says it doesn't support the video.
I've been using LG phones ever since the G2 and never had any other phone or any problems with them. This one though is getting really annoying.
I hate these Q&A format threads with a passion. I wish people would just open regular threads...

Have you tried other video players like VLC, MXPlayer?
Yes sir I did many players and VLC is always on all my devices and it also gets stuck. I'll try the .nomedia file and see how that works
And I have a problem with the smoothness of video playback in gallery, whether it's a bluray movie in mp4/mkv FHD format, or from camera in FHD or in 4k is always on Android 8.0 I have a delicate jam, how would he lose single frames every 0.7sec ~ 0 , 25sec. I came back for testing on 7.1.2 and it is perfectly smooth always, as soon as I updated to 8.0 version 20d or the latest 21h there are jam ... how b was an oreo error, quite a few friends did not catch up with this problem, I'm a perfectionist and I look at every detail whether it's a video or sound, that's why I chose the highest model of the phone.
LG releases more patches (already 4) and as soon as it appears oreo are staples. You can see that this is a pfroblem with support for video caps because MX Player also has micro jams on the hardware codec.
Interestingly, youtube is fluid.
I only hope that the Android Pie will be improved.
I'm having the same problem as well please let me know when you will find the solution to this problem of smoothness of video
At first it was running smooth AF but after some time i noticed the problem after 1 day of use.
Reseting the phone didnt work.
