Hey everyone. I'm using a HTC Hero G2 GSM phone running froydvillain and I love it. I recently ran into a problem. I've been out drinking and suddently my phone asks for my sim code. I totally forgot my sim code and tried whatever I could think of, but after three attempts, my phone locked asking for a PUK code.
I'm in possesion of my PUK and my pin code but I don't know where to type it in. On the lock screen there's only some information about looking for the user guide or customer care and no option for typing in the PUK code.
Please help me and thanks in advance
-Regards: Me
EDIT: I found a fix for the problem.
If you don't mind, what was the fix?
Sent from my HTC Hero using XDA App
I tried using the search function for once and most of the posts didn't have a reply, but considering I was partly drunk when I wrote, then I'm quite stubborn and I found some dude who had written this:
**05*[PUK-code]*[new PIN-code]*[new PIN-code]#

And my phone provider had sent me my PUK code in an old e-mail which I fortunately had saved in case I would need it.
And on the part where to write it, I simply pressed the "emergency call" button and wrote it with the keyboard there..
Hope this answers your question
Cool, thanks
I have tried my best to not open a new thread about it but i cant find anything on the forums about it.
Anyone else having a problem with the call display? Mine says pay phone once in a while. My phone is the bell version unlocked to work on fido/rogers.
Any help would be appreciated.

There are couple threads about this. Either way, to get it working, you need to call Fido/Rogers and disable Name Display on your line.
Cheers!
I am trying to start the journey into rooting and installing custom ROM's. I am trying to start by unlocking the bootloader. However, I am trying to register at the htcdev.com site so I can start the process, but they are not sending me the activation email. I tried a few times and no emails. I was wondering if anyone else has had the same experience and if there is any other way to unlock the bootloader instead of waiting for an email that hasn't come in over an hour now. Thanks
I've experienced the same problem. I've attempted to register at HTCdev four times now. I never receive a confirmation email (used four different email accounts). The activation email is a no-show over five hours after submitting the registration information (not in spam folder either).
This essentially makes rooting via the HTC method impossible.
Check your spam filters!
I had to dig mine out of the spam folder.
Checked all spam folders numerous times. The activation emails simply aren't being sent.

I did four different email addresses and nothing came. I checked the spam folders on all of them, and nothing there either. I guess I will have to postpone rooting, which sucks because when I finally have the nerve to do it, this happens. Something is definitely wrong over at HTC.
Yeah, I used two Gmail addresses, a Yahoo! address, and a Hotmail. None worked.
If you'd like to email their support (can't help to have more people emailing), this is their support email address:
[email protected]
Didn't work for me either, sent email to support crew.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using XDA App
I just sent them an email too. Hopefully we get something, because I was really getting into the rooting thing.
Same here 4 diff emails and no verification email sent. I tried there support email and it said it was a invalid email addy???
Still nothing. If anyone gets lucky and gets something or figures out a way, please share. Because as it stands, we can no longer unlock the bootloader through HTC.

Hmm..I haven't tried yet cause I haven't touched my Amaze.
Still waiting for a screen protector before I take it out of its box.

you could always just leave the screen protector that comes on the phone when you un box it. My wife did that with her phone until her we got her a screen protector.
Glad to hear that some people are getting emails back.

The sales associate took off our screen protectors when he turned on the phone to register the SIM card and do something else to it.
Oh yeah, transfer contacts and data.
I know, it sucked. I always leave those on for as long as they will stay.
The Sensation I'm using now still has it's original screen protector on.
I've had it for 2 weeks now.
I looked on many lists and Google is silent.
Does anyone know what country/carrier this is associated with?
I need to know because I want to send my phone to get repaired. The screen is definitely messssssed up.
Thank you.
haven't hear about it b4.
sry.
Anyone? I really need this.
Thanks Again.
I'd really appreciate some assistance
As its not listed you had better contact the phone provider or Samsung .

Hi,
I see yellow tints on the screen edges when the phone gets hot. I know Sony has admitted this to be a problem with Xperia S. I contacted Sony Support and they said that they can't support the phone as the phone isn't available in US. Can anybody suggest me my options? How do I get this fixed? Has anyone in US faced this problem?
Thanks

First we have a few threads like this that you could have found instead of posting in a new thread.
What is your phone market built? I mean for which market your phone was built for? Where did you buy it?
Open the batter cover in the back and read the lable somewhere says 12Wxx what is the number for XX?
First of all I didn't find answer to my question on any of the threads posted. Maybe I missed it, sorry for that.
The number you asked is 12W09. I bought the phone from ebay from a reseller. Not sure where he imported the phone from.
Its part of the screen, the only solution is to either A, keep the phone really cool, or B replace it. As you dont have any RMA option, you're left with option A. G'luck with that.
lolz, option A isn't really an option. Thing gets hot and if it's anything like mine it'll start showing at lower temperatures and spread.
I'd contact the shop you bought it from and ask them to send you a replacement.
Does anyone know what fix is it? is it something we can do it ourselves?
