I'm sorry, but I wouldn't touch that with an 80ft pole!!!
First off, it's not for the G3. It's L90
Second, and most important, None of the devs working on it have put it out there yet. I'm sorry, but maybe I'm too sceptical to believe that if this has been out since Aug 8th, Why is it not available here?! Or even rumor of it?
I really hope you didn't just ruin your phone. My guess is this has something to do with the T-mo version of the G3 at best. Not to be used on the Sprint version.

I got an 81ft pole if your down. Haha. Just kidding man. I hate seeing threads like this that give us hope for a minute and turn out to be snake oil.

I looked into it too and it seems legit for the phone they advertise but as you said it didn't mention the LS990 anywhere., and how jcase or no one else over here knew about it and if they did and it was legit they would share it here. Hopefully his phone isn't ruined.

no is not damage it even do a back up of the laf.img and boot.img

this looks shady if you ask me.

You're a braver person than I.
In that thread you linked, Sammyz has the partition layout. It's no where near what ours is as far as I could tell. There were many differences.
So even if you managed to get it unlocked, I would think your offsets and partition names/sizes would be wrong now.
I may be totally wrong, and I truly hope I am. But this is a risk I wouldn't recommend to anybody yet. And definitely not for me.
But to try to help you if you want to continue, AT YOUR OWN RISK, I guess you could try the recoveries in the LG G3 forums, under general. It's tethered and might be the safest, but it's also not for Sprint
Bare in mind though, Sprint Does Not have a recovery yet.

It's an unlock for a different model lg phone. At best trying it wont work - at worst you are now bricked. People can be a$$hats.....

I looked through the script and its pulling the partitions by name which is good. The thing i see that would worry me is erasing the the boot img to access fastboot, But it does backup the boot and then flashes it again. I think i might give this a go later when i grow a bigger pair...lol

Post your unlock tokens

I need about 3 - 4 unlock_code.bins. I want to see if I can find a pattern. Also, PM me your IMEI number (or ESN if it doesnt have an IMEI). I want to see if I can find a pattern or anything. Don't get your hopes up. Just wanna see if I can find something matching or not.
Also, if you are willing to post your unlock token, MAKE SURE TO PM ME, DO NOT PUBLICLY TYPE YOUR IMEI/ESN!!
UPDATE: I also need the token info when you are the "fastboot oem get_identifier_token" command. I see somewhat of a relation with it.

minor update: The unlock_code.bin are all the same. Now I'm looking for a repetition between the identifiers. This will take some time.

Phone doesn't charge when off..

I remember reading that TWRP doesnt allow the phone to charge when it's off..? is this true?
To test, we turned the one x+ off and plugged it in.. the orange LED came on, but then got dim.. so I unplugged it.. and it never went out.
If I let my one x+ die, will i be able to recover?
Look for, download, then flash the stock recovery. It will now charge when off. Before u flash a new Rom just flash back the twrp recovery. After u flash new Rom, flash back the stock recovery.

Omg this is nothing short of a deal breaker. If wifey let's her one x+ die while she's at work, it will become a brick?

Then sit down and build your own recovery. Otherwise flash the stock recovery on her one x+ and never worry about it. You only need TWRP when flashing a new rom.

Where to find stock recovery? We don't flash enough zips in recovery to justify the "gotta rush home phone is about to become a brick"

well this info is in the TWRP thread, this topic has been touched upon about 30times. if the pair of you are incapable of using the search button then not my problem! About the question being wrong: that is why it was a question, because I don't know what it will (or won't) do.

[FOR DEVS] Possible bootloader unlock exploit

Hi! I found this now on reddit, there is LG G2 on the list, can we use it?!
It's the documentation by @djrbliss (Dan Rosenberg, XDA Recognized Developer)

Reddit link:

Please check it guys, but if it's not useful, then sorry.
@dorimanx @dr87 @savoca @Cloudyfa @OptimusRs @RenderBroken @Amperific @JackpotClavin (just wanted to show it to someone who is experienced and who would have a while, it's not like i just mentioned everyone here)
EDIT: https://www.blackhat.com/us-14/briefings.html#reflections-on-trusting-trustzone
The talk will conclude with a discussion of the ramifications of this vulnerability and others like it, including a live demonstration of using it to permanently unlock the bootloader of a major Android phone.

Well, seems like the G2 may be a hot phone for developers soon The phone still has the beast specs, so.
Btw, I read that S5 and M8 are patched, as we know they have Snap801, so this exploit is hardware related? If yes, then LG couldn't even relock it, i suppose, lol
Thanks @reas0n for sharing this with us. The imgur link you shared, i compared it first with the loki script but it didnt contained anythin about qsee i thought and no similair lines. If @dr87 has the way to permanently unlock the gs4 then it would be also maybe possible for the g2 like said in the imgur link you gave. Seems trustable that link. But i bet dr87 is having now some kind of top secret area 51 project to unlock the lg bootloader.
Thanks again reas0n continue your search you`re doing great.
I could also be wrong and it maybe contained in the loki script but i didnt saw it since i`m watching from my tab now.
Thanks, I want to do as much as I can for the G2 community.
Edited the thread, lol, it would be epic if he used our lovely G2 as unlocking example We just have to wait now.
I saw now that he will present at blackhat so pretty big. First i came on an website from azimuth security about galaxy s4 loki etc i just found out on that link from you that dr87 works/ is part of azimuth security so i bet he will bypass and unlock it
The security doctor will fix ill locked devices.
Maybe the device wil get unlocked before lg provides an official unlock method. Is it about me or is LG doing the same as samsung? Same with bootloader, roundicons in notification bar etc, i wonder how LG will become.

I figured why not give calling em a shot. It was a thousand questions and then redirected to their security department then several more questions resulting in them saying "I'm sorry sir we do not even have a code to provide you and we do not allow or support device unlocking or rooting." I was like.. Byatch! What a mess! I should have researched this before buying... I looked it up, saw moto e was rootable and looked no further. Sucked in by the deal. Now I can't even return it. I've had it too long. I'm sure no one is even attempting it anymore. Think I might craigslist it for 40 and get me one to have a little fun with. Oh and not only that Tracfone has a site and under their name it says something like, when you have our phones you have the power. Ha! Straight talk just lost a long time customer. And this phone is just bloated out to the max with Google and Motorola CRAP! If someone out there in this mod world have this phone... Get it!!! Hit it hard! We can use this as a lab rat! I would be willing to try it. Tried searching for it but couldnt find it. If you have link to the Verizon 1 click root app Ill try it asap. I just bought it and have a 30 day store warranty. I did try the LG Stump root 1.2 and did not work.

So here's what I would believe, the CDMA version on straight talk is a cdma-v phone.. I assume that means its a Verizon phone, if I had a back up phone I'd be willing to try to root this one using the Verizon one click root app... Does anyone have any thoughts?

I will try it, I dont mind messing with my device, I can probably look at the apk as well and find the exploit to see what it is.
Look forward to hearing how it goes. Need this XT830C rooted. Never had a non rooted phone. What a big difference it makes and not for the good.

someone needs to show me where the root method is at =P lol
This is not the Verizon 1 click root as I was looking for the same but this is the Sprint/Verizon LG Stump root method I tried.
**This might be the 1 click root app. Doing a search on google keeps bringing this link up. Dont know for certain. Method did not work for me.

Is this the Version One Click root you were looking for? This is the updated version.
I found it via this article. Chrome detected the Verizon apk as a virus, but that's probably a false positive. The apk does come from XDA.
Blah blah blah, if you install that, I'm not responsible for nuclear war or bricked phones.
I'd try it tonight, but I need to be up for class/work tomorrow.
I don't have much to lose, although I do love this phone. Right now I use it as a server with VIM via Terminal IDE or as a web server with KSWEB. Although I recently converted an old 1.6GHz N270 Atom netbook to do the same thing, it's much louder and hotter, but way more powerful.
I'm just pissed what StraightTalk did to this phone. It's absolutely amazing, but those bastards had to ruin it.
