apparently I can't post there unless I have 10 or more posts. Kinda weak, but I'm not about to spam the forum to get access to that stuff.
I'm an experienced 'hacker' (psp, wii, and some mobile). I live in Canada and bought my experia online (ebay) from a guy in the states. It came to me yesterday and it's from VERISON. My sim card wont work (rogers/FIDO), so I'm trying to unlock it so my sim card will work.
I'm going to spend time looking through the forum and posts to gather more information, I'm hoping someone will be kind enough to save me time by providing useful feedback.
NOTE to developers; I'm fully willing to use my experia to test out any apps you need to get it working + providing feedback so you may continue to develop your apps in the future. I'm a fully and willing volunteer, just hit me up a PM.
Thank you very much for your time..I'll be camping out here for a couple days while I do my research.

[Q] Anyone in Las Vegas with a Jtag willing to help someone out? :)

I've got an LG Optimus T (T-Mobile Optimus One) that's fully bricked and I can't find anyone in the area to assist saving this device. I contacted several of the cell phone ripoff shops here in town and they all say they "know a guy that can do it but doesn't work for us" but they won't put me in direct contact with this so-called genius and I'm stuck for a solution.
Also... I was kinda hoping someone might be able to help for no charge - I honestly don't have the cash to save this phone but I can't afford another one either. If I had the cash I'd just get another phone, duh, but I'm between a rock and a hard place so, figured I'd ask and see what happens. I know people expect hard cash for most everything these days, but I could use a break and it'll be good Karma back on you if you can help.
It's the only Android phone I have and I'd love to get it functional once more.
Mods: I couldn't think of any other place to ask the question so, if this is off-limits or going against any rules (that I'm not presently aware of) feel free to delete it outright instead of just locking it.
Contact me by PM if you're able to help, and my Wife and I appreciate any assistance possible.

[Q] well guys i really need some help here..

I've been using an old flip phone for about 1 and a half years and im really getting tired of is and pay attention please the story gets on topic. I really think all of you here know what it is like to not have a smart phone at one pont or another. i need the unlock code for my Atrix to get my phone unlocked (NOT BEGGING FOR MONEY PLEASE KEEP READING) I heard the unlock code was a phone call away like seriously that easy. The only problem is i am socially awkward and completely dread tech support lines im extremely shy and nervous on the phone. All i am asking is if i could possibly give one of you my imei or whatever code and you can call the line for me and send me my code. listen i know it sounds like im lazy but i really do have issues talking on the phone with people and im sure one of you out there is actually nice enough to try this for me. please at the least consider it and get back to me. it costs nothing and i really would appreciate it .

Suspicious....
is it because you don't speak the language your are supposed to speak fluently to make the call? If that is the case i am not your man unfortunately. I am not that good at speaking english (If it is english) myself.
I know this is not what you are asking for, but you can get an unlock code for your phone on many websites without human interaction. I am not allowed to post links since i am a new user so, Cellunlocker dot net is a good website for unlocking phones. You know how to write that up there if you choose to go that route. And good luck.

Verizon rootable phones? (If this isn't the appropriate spot please move and sorry)

Hey guys and gals,
So I surf here a lot and hardly post but this is my go to for device rooting. Now I have a question for all of you lovely people. What Verizon phones can be rooted? I have been googling for an hour and usually it's people saying "Don't buy flag ship phones". I have an HTC Desire 626S, not a flag ship that i know of, and still can't root the POS.
If anyone has a list, or even a few phones I can research and you are willing to share it, I would GREATLY appreciate it.
Thank you in advance,
Kevin

Newbee could use some (help) coaching

Hello hello! My name is John,
I'd like to say I've been in and out of XDA on off for years and you guys really know your stuff. although I don't understand a lot of what you guys are saying and this is the whole point of this post I would like to learn. I honestly believe I'm in the right place and I'd like you and especially XDA for being here! It's about time somebody did something in the Android market to give us back control of our phones!
I have the worst luck with cell phones if it's not stolen I'm sure to break the screen. I got really good with computers and would like to learn a lot about cell phones. Currently I own a cheap one and it would probably be a good one to start with for that reason. (this is the third one by the way within 3 months.)
I broke the digitizer screen on this one and would like to replace it but I can't find one anywhere online if anyone knows where I might be able to find one please let me know! The phone model is Alcatel TCL LX or A502DL are there any other Alcatel phones that have the same digitizer screen? (5.43 480X960)
Is there a clean OS for this phone? I believe you guys call it a ROM? (8.1 Oreo)
Is anybody out there willing to assist me I'm ready and I'm willing. Thanks ?
