I can't ask this in appropriate thread, so unfortunately I have to make a separate one. But I did some research first, many asked this question but found no solution.
Problem
I use the very good rom IzerHD™ V4 for the p31xx. This rom is also for the p3100 with phone sim capability. But the p3110 is a wifi only tablet. The problem is that the in build phone capability drains unnecessarily my battery.
Steps taken:
- As suggested I removed contacts.apk, dialer.apk, telephonyprovider.apk and mms.apk. But in Battery I see Cell Standby still there and using 12% power.
- Edit Build.prop for renaming p3100 into p3110
Question
How can I convert the p3100 rom into p3110 rom without the cell radio which drains my battery.
Thanks

Hi Guys,
Okay. I am a noob and I hate being a noob, and when I registered for the site I watched the noob video. Whilst I did do my research on xda, androidforums etc. I feel I still need your assistance before I go on to ruin something.
Phone: Galaxy S II
Location: Australia
Network: Vodafone
Kernel: XXKF2
Rom: Litening Rom v1.5 XXKF2
Android Version: 2.3.3
Mode: GT-I9100
Symptons: Low internal storage, drained battery, when charging or in use, can get very warm near the camera lens.
I've actually had a great run with Litening Rom until one day I woke up and my alarm went off for work. I went to turn it off and the battery was so hot I could've started scrambling some eggs. In a state of panic, I turned the switch off and the battery charge for 6hrs was 5% - wtf. Long story short, I've searched and found many threads with many different unofficial responses. I'm to the point where I'm deciding to go back to stock or to another rom. Most of the download links I've searched on XDA seem to be invalid (i.e stock Kernel XXKF2 and Litening Rom v3.2).
In anycase, do I need to:
1. Download specifically the XXKF2 kernel? Or can I try another? If so, can anyone direct me elsewhere as god knows I've tried.
2. Anyway to remove rom on its own? I've got Odin etc.
3. Can I also clarify that when I rooted the phone to the Litening Rom, does that change the stock Kernel? If not, then perhaps I just need to goto point 2 above.
Any assistance would be grateful.
Thank you.
Hey mate.
When you flashed the custom ROM you would of also changed your kernel.
I would suggest trying Siyah kernel, I've used it and I had great battery life.
That should help sort out your other issues too
Good luck!
Youre talking abouth odin and lightning rom so youve rooted and flashed allready......so your a bit noob-off,but as above said try another kernel or better....flash an other rom.
Download some other roms, reboot in recovery, flash them try it for an day....with outh installing your app's , install your app's when youve got an rom of your choice/like's see what the battery drain does and the heat development at the back......try it greatz mike
Hello.
Im having big issues with battery drain, the process "l2_hsic" is draining it.
Now i first was on the ics standard rom with this problem and change to Toldo ics rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1813651)
I have done a complete wipe (not just factory reset), also tied different kernels (yoda and A1), but same drain remains.
Anyone got a clue on how to resole this ?
have the 3g model of the tab.

The Problem is : The screen of the phone goes blank , the phone is actually ON but it becomes inactive , battery is consuming but the phone is dormant.
Then i have to reboot the phone by removing and reinserting the battery.
Additional Information :
The default ROM of the Phone was 2.3.6 Gingerbread
I did an over the upgrade to 4.1.2, two weeks back.
I am attaching the snapshots for the reference.
Please suggest me how can i overcome this problem.
héy guys ..
can anyone tell me what rom i can choose for my device samsung galaxy s2 i9100p for a better battery life because i get about 6 houres without any use the battery is in down all the time and i don't know the solution help me please :crying:
There's no such thing. Rom recommendations are forbidden here, you need to go to the two development sections, read some threads, make a nandroid so you can go back to your current setup in 5 minutes if you don't like a particular rom you try, and try some roms.
There is no magic formula for battery life. It depends on how your phone is setup & how you use your phone, not which rom you use (kernel has a much greater bearing on battery life than rom in my experience). There is a wealth of information on how to extract better battery life on here, but you have to read threads & test stuff, there's no easy way.
Thread closed as its a Best ROM thread. OP what works best for one user may not work best for you due to differences in how you use the device. My advice would be to try them out and see which one is best for you.
