Do a full wipe, then factory reset.
Also just a reminder, do not double post, it's not allowed (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/sgs3-custom-rom-t2896478/post55846494). Post once in the correct section, if nobody replies you can bump once every 24 hrs
Can I ask how many times your going to ask this and ignore all the help that's given?

I have rooted my phone with odin and installe the kitchen pro app, but whe i try to install checkrom 6hd or any rom it fails at verification i successfully did all this a few months ago on a sgs2 before it was stolen, i now i seem to be hitting problem after problem...........
if you want to refer me to ''in in this thread'' please post the link because im struggling to find help, ive looked all over and navigating this site is far from easy.
I get the yellow triangle so i guessi rooted properly, ive tried 2 roms, neither will install :9 please help me............ delete this thread after if need be
again, please help
which kernel are you using.. download a custom kernel..like siya or neak.. and make sure its the correct version .. dat is if you are using GB rom then download a GB kernel. the try flashing the rom from recovery
1) Kitchen pro will work only after installing Checkrom,
2) flash another (CWM+Rooting) kerenel from ODIN like siyah,
link for GB Shiyah Kernel : http://gokhanmoral.desean.net/siyahkernel/v2.6/Siyah-v2.6.14.tar (make sure you are on GB version now, otherwise you have to select ICS siyah kernel)
and try to install Checkrom from CWM
I've done all that, I keep getting E:verification failed.... any help please?

my problem is solved, thanks guys
this site can be useful
Hi all,
im new to this so please forgive me if this question has already been posted previously!
Ive been searching for countless hours on the web and different forums to try and find a solution!
My prob is this,
I rooted my fone using Odin and what i thought was a proper CFW but once i downloaded ROM manager off the Google store and tried to install the latest cyanogenmod 9, i constantly keep getting a message coming up saying "E: failed to verify whole package signature"
Firstly, I am confused whether to downgrade back to stock firmware and then try to upgrade from that; or, find a way to upgrade to cynanogenmod 9 straight from what i have installed ATM.
My fone specs are:
Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100P
Android 2.3.4
Baseband: I9100PBVK12
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-I9100BVKH2-CL453351
[email protected] #2
Build number
Gingerbread.BVK13
Can someone please help me out with this in plain english as i am constantly running into a brick wall trying to figure it out!!!
Many Thanks

Where does it say anything about ROM manager?
What did you use to root your phone? Also can you get into cwm recovery by holding down volume up, home and power buttons when u turn your phone on?
I see you have the i9100p, I'm afraid I know nothing about that version but this will help people pinpoint the problem
sorry guys i used Rom Manager to download latest version of CWM
Rom manager on Samsung phone uses a kind of virtual recovery from what I understand.
You have to have flashed a root kernel which I'm guessing you have as you say you used Odin. What did you flash with Odin?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Not to sure what i flashed with as it was quite a while ago, i following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419102 to try an install CM9 now lol the noob proof edition
OK so I had a read and the i9100p is the same as the i9100 only with nfc see here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480245
Ok this should work for you.
-Download cm9 resurrection edition from the official thread + the latest nightly and put the nightly on you internal SD.
-Flash cm9 resurrection edition via Odin as per instructions.
- when its booted up, turn your phone off and enter recovery using the combo I mention above.
- flash zip from SD and pick the latest nighty.
Should get you up to speed, good luck

Thanks a bunch mate! Appreciate u helpin!
ive read that its not wise to use titanium backup to restore a backup after installing cm9, is this true?
No problem
If you use titanium for user apps only and not system apps you won't have to much of a problem. But other than that if you do find problems with apps after restore just a wipe of the app data from settings should do the trick.

ok thank u!
big problem tho, i was flashing with odin and its froze about 3/4 of thw way through, have i bricked it??
I'm honestly not sure ive never had that happen to me.
Are you sure its just not taking longer than expected? I'm out atm so I can't have a search for you but if I remember right there is a 'have I bricked my phone' sticky on one of the s2 forums you might find some advise there. Sorry I can't help more

Ok so i am noob with Samsung and dealing with flashing and all these stuff, i just switched from iPhone to Galaxy S3 GT-I9300, i have read so many posts and watched so many videos, all what i want is some clarification
1* I have managed to download CM 9.0.0 for my phone and installed it through ROM Manager , i have noticed that my Data service is not working, am living in Kuwait "Middle East" the wifi is working fine no issues and i enabled the Data Service through the settings, how can i fix the issues with the data plan although it is working fine after i restored to my stock ROM
2*Can u tell me what the use of the Odin except rooting and installing a stock Firmware ?
3* correct me if i am wrong but the ROM will only do some sort of interface for the phone , as we say in IT "GUI" of course not to forget to mention the speed and tweaks for hardware of the device it self, i mean it is not a complete OS "Firmware" mostly GUI with Tweaks.
4*While doing the installation of the ROM and remove it and getting back to my stock ROM , nothing from my data has been changed, does that means every time i install any ROM and get back to the old one my data will not be effected on the stock ROM?
5* what would happen if i tried to install a ROM not compatible with the firmware i have ? and how would i fix that ?
6*How can i tell if the ROM is compatible with the firmware i have? , for example in my case i downloaded CM 9.0.0 for my S3 which has 4.0.4 firmware
7* I have understand that the ROM must be compatible with my phone version , what i mean with version like International version or US carriers versions, am i Right?
Am sorry asking too many questions,I tried my best to make the questions with yes or no answer, and incase you would like to write more please do
answering me those questions will help me alot, i have been reading so many posts and it is making me go insane
Thanks so much in advance

1. try reboot
2 thats about all its for
3............
4 all your data will be there unles you do a full wipe in recovery which is recomended before installing any ROM.
5 A ROM isnt specific to your firmware. If you have an international version which is GT I9300 Or GT I9300T any ROM from the I9300 threads will work. Dont flash anything made for the non international versions

You do a full wipe. A full wipe is always recommended to prevent some weird bugs.

Thanks for the tip mate:good: I did some reading and found that I need to Flash CWM 6.0.4.5 or so. But somewhere I read about kernels. Can someone tell me the sequnce in which I should flash CWM, Kernel and ROM . Probably going for CWM 6.0.4.5 , Gustavo's kernel ( just because read somewhere its good ) and POUND ROM. Do I need to do all at once ?
Do I need a PC to flash these stuff ? I have a PC without admin priviliges so I can just download the files and copy to my SD card.
I know no one wants to feed spoon , I have done my homework need someone to show me the way to do it without me having to go through entire XDA pages.
Please help.

Yes if its zip then u don't need a pc.
Just flash it without wipe
Dorimax is used for Dualbooting so people prefer that
Gustavo's kernel is one of the best known kernel for kk right now

Thanks for helping me out, Well the main reason for me to flash a Kitkat Rom was because I was not able to login into my skype account using the android app. It says " Incorrect username/Password" . Well I re-installed skype serveral times but same error. The login details are absolutely correct because I can login using PC App and browser. My friend tried his ID and still problem seems to be with my app as I too can login on other phones. Thats when I started thinking maybe this is because of my ROM. Unfortunately after following this thread to flash POUND rom it still seems cant get skype working as same error appears .
Can someone help, Skype is very important app for me.
Do I need to open a new thread related to this for related responses?

Maybe there are some problems with older datas. You could try formatting internal sd with a PC
I search the internet and i could not find the proper answers for this issues.
I managed to install Pound Rom on my phone, the stock rom banished, and i get a lame battery life( i know i know it depends on users). I am not doing anythin with my phone and it drops 3% per 100 minutes. Any suggestions?
I saw that you can use roms with Kernels, i saw a post with "what is your fav rom+kernel combination", what if install a rom and then apply a kernel which is incompatible? Will i brick my phone or just the rom? I will be able to reach cm to reflash another rom?
And if i installed a rom+kernel which are compatible, after deleting full data, wipping, and so on, it is ok to install a new rom and a new kernel without bricking? It is ok to wipe and go to stock rom from odin? I saw a couple of guys bricking their device somehow like that..
If i install stock i will get the exact performance like i had before, good battery life etc?
And how can i get TWRP recovery on my phone? I saw posts where devs said 'or use twrp recov' i googled and found an app on the play store which told you if s2 is compatible aaand it was not and that was like the only thing i found..
Sorry if my questions were answered somewhere else and i would appreciate if in any form you would help me

firstly threads about best rom kernel etc are not allowed still omega and cyanogen rom are the best
incompatible kernel MAY BRICK YOUR PHONE (chances are less but atleast it will cause bootloop)
you can always switch you rom(including stock rom by odin) by wiping data and flashing a new one
you will get same performance as before
twrp depends on which rom you are using prefer cwm bcoz its most compatible
Thanks for prompt answer!
