The problem is google services has been so integrated into many areas of practical function. Even if you are able to properly disable it (which you can do with greenify pro which costs money), several google apps won't work properly without google services running. I have heard of people running an older version of the google services apk which won't run constantly and drain as much. Also the possibility that certain google apps won't run properly.

Thanks,
Already try uninstall update but after few hour or when i connected to wifi getting update again. Even when to turn off auto update/wifi update always get new version. Should i try use manually installation google play service?
Regards

Look at what others have done on xda as I am no expert. Search "google play services" in xda thread titles. If you use any google app, keep, seach, gmail, play store, youtube, etc. none of them will work without play sevices. An unfortunate tradeoff.

If it's the check in service that would be an easier fix maybe.

i was able to disable checkin service through android tuner.
swipe from the left to the right and select application manager.
then select "Google Play Services" and click on manage.
next click on permissions.
there should be tabs on the top, click on "Services".
from there disable the following:
-anything that says "checkin"
-anything that says "ads"
-anything that says "analytics"
-anything that says "com.google.android.location.reporting" (though i keep these on and i believe it's optional if you want them)
found this out while trying to figure out how to disable the wakelock problem on my phone that was keeping it on and draining the batt.

That kernel is for HTC One, not for zara. Dont even try that, you can brick your device. If you want a custom kernel, you can try using mine, you can find it in my signature.
Anyway, the latest version is fixing it as soon as you have disabled ok google hotword detection turned off outside the google search.

You can also try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playfulgeeks.gservicefix
It stops the battery drain

Has anyone received this error? I flashed the new version of MeanROM several times and everytime I try to reinstall my previously purchased apps from the Google Play store on my phone, I get this error. I've searched XDA for this issue and didn't find anything pertaining to it! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Turn off WiFi, and turn it back on, then try again. Are you getting the same error when leveraging a non-WiFi connection?

i've had this before and there are a few potential fixes.
Clear google play store data. Works for some people
If this doesnt work try this clear "Google service framework" data. Worked for me.
I tried both the Wi-Fi fix and the clear GP data fixes to no avail. I did however, factory reset my phone, and reflashed my ROM, in addition to rebooting the bootloader and that seemed to have done the trick! Thanks for the input guys. much appreciated!
Great to hear, although what you executed should be considered the last-ditch effort. No one should have to reimage their handset to fix issues like this. Now that you're in a good state, though, get yourself an excellent cache cleaner from the Google Play store (now that you can actually use it), and use it.frequently. It might be a proactive measure that will prevent this from occurring in the future.

You should have just cleared data a few times!!! It worked for me!!!!
Yes, I get the same error.
Would it be possible to push the apps through from the online web store?
Just disable and enable google service framework, worked for me (if it's disabled just enable it):good:

Was at wit's end, then tried this:
Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Uninstall updates
It seems to reset just the Play Store app to factory settings. Worked for me, and I didn't have to wipe the whole phone!
Re: When trying to reinstall apps:"Error retrieving information from server. [DF-BPA-
Well you don't have to uninstall everything just go to Google play services and Google play and clear the cache and data then restart the app. It should be good to go after.

try uninstalling the Google wallet with titanium app and reinstall form market that should fix issue...
HTC EVO LTE
with the viper 4g did you set it to accept the gameloft games?
the gameloft games edit should be in the viper4g settings. under advanced.
if you did this will bork your build.prop so wallet doesnt recognize it
Dont bother trying to uncheck them. when you uncheck them it changes your build.prop to the HTC one X and it doesnt recognize the proper values for where the wallet should be.
your only option is to search through the viper4g thread and find the original build.prop and flash that back in or just completely reflash the rom and DON'T change any of the gameloft settings. (i believe there are 2)
Then all you'll get is an unidentified device but it should work for you at that point.

Also as a heads up... Rooted devices will sometimes show this error from Google Wallet. Wallet will still work but you'll have an "Unsupported Device" banner on the top.

No data or wifi connection

I'll try to keep this brief.
My wife and I both have stock standard HTC Aria's running Android 2.2. A few days ago my wife complained that her battery was discharging really fast. Then a day later mine started doing the same thing.Going flat in a few hours of standby. Normally at the end of the day they would both still have 8 out or ten bars still lit. I turned off wifi, mobile and bluetooth on both phones and that seemed to fix the battery problem.
Now when I turn on wifi or 3g I cant connect at all. My wifi router shows up in settings but it constantly is scanning-connecting-disconnecting. Also cant connect to 3g.
I have tried another sim card but the problem is the same.
As I said, these phone aren't rooted in any way. Have very few apps. Basically used as a phone.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Maybe you can try a new battery. Or, if you still have warranty, give it back to service.

You can try a factory reset as a last resort

Thanks dansou but the problem is not the battery. I believe the power was draining because an app was trying , constantly, to access the wifi which will not connect.

Just did a factory reset and everything seems ok.
Just one other problem: When I log in to google play it is showing that I have 2 apps installed (airdroid and astro) These are no longer on my phone but google doesn't want to believe that. I've tried to trash them and tried installing them but nothing happens. It just says "These apps will be un/installed shortly"
Any thoughts?
Thanks

You may have already tried this, but maybe a reboot would do the trick. If rebooting doesn't help, you can use a file manager to take a look into Data>Apps or System>Apps and see if you can find their .apk files there and delete them. If you aren't rooted, you won't be able to delete them, and I'm not sure what you should do if that happens. If they aren't there, then it's probably just a graphical glitch and is showing what really isn't there.
EDIT: Sorry, I read your post wrong. Go into the app details of Google Play Store and select both clear data and clear cache, and that should solve the problem. If not, try rebooting.

Oh my bad, I wasn't really clear about that. It's actually in your phone settings, not the settings in the Play Store.
So you open up Play Store in 'Manage Applications' as if you were trying to uninstall it. In that menu, you'll see options like Force Stop/Disable. Scroll down, and you'll see the 'Clear data' and 'Clear cache' options, and there ya go. I hope I explained it well.

If it's showing that only on the website, you shouldn't have to worry about it... It does that
It's probably showing them for the "old" one, before you did a factory reset

Oh I see now. I'm sorry, I thought you were saying that the phone was showing it.
Like WinSuk said, I don't see the problem if it's only showing it on the website. It could be showing what's installed on your wife's Aria if you two are sharing an account.

Sorry, I'm getting a bit confused here.
The apps that I mentioned; Airdroid, Astro, google play etc are showing as being installed on the google play web site. These apps are no longer on my phone after I did the factory reset. Therefore I have no way to reinstall the apps as google play is telling me they are already installed.
Is there another way to do this? Can I dl the apk files from somewhere else and install them manually?
Thanks again for all your help

You don't have the Play Store installed on your phone? If that's the case, you need to search up on google to find the apk file for it. Once you do that, you should be able to install the other apps you've mentioned.
Sorry if I misunderstood you again. I'm getting pretty confused here also.

Update:
I managed to install airdroid and Astro through Android Market app (was that the precursor to play store?)
Now when I log in to google play it shows those two apps as installed. Everything else is showing in "other apps in my library" waiting to be installed. I think I'll leave it at that. My airdroid is working again :good:
Thanks for every ones help.

Yep, the Android Market was renamed to the Google Play Store.
It'll eventually update automatically on your phone and change back to the Play Store

New HTC One Max acting up please help

Also it wont connect to the playstore while on lte but everything else works. Do I need to do a factory reset since I just updated to sense 6 ?

If you have root then maybe the xposed module "play store fix" can help with the market tablet issue.
LTE not letting the you access play store, I can't suggest that one.
Id try the rom i posted...or if on att ill hook you up with a rom made specifically for att,im using same device on att with no issues with anything at all if you like...pm me if interested...

[Q] High wakelock count and battery drain (New Google play service).

Hey.
Few days ago, i have updated the google play services to 6.1 version.
After that a new kind of wild wakelock appeared. No idea why. I can't find anything about that one.
This wakelock is called : "wake:com.google.android.gms/.auth.be.proximity.authorization.userpresence.UserPresenceService"
And it's growing all the time, and it happened only after the update. I've lost after i unplugged (80%) ~20% in about 1hr with screen off.
I'm using Archidroid 1 (Newest one) on latest beta of boeffla kernel. And apart from that was everything fine.
Tried to clean Google play services cache and data. No results.
Screens below.
Same thing happened to me today on Nexus 4 with CM11M10
EDIT: I think it is related to WearableService under Google Services, I killed it and the situation has significantly improved. Try doing it on your device and see if it helps.

I probably managed to get rid of the same wakelock.
#1 install Disable Services app from Google Play
#2 open it, go to "system" tab
#3 find Google Play Services, open, find "Wearable Services" & untick it
#4 et voila, ready

I also had this problem. I additonally disabled the following services in Google Play Sevices:
"com.google.android.gms.auth.be.proximity.authorization.userpresence.UserPresenceService"
"com.google.android.gmx.config.ConfigFetchService"
and all other services with the word "fitness" or "wearable" (as my former poster already said)
Hope I could also help
Thanks guys for help!
I have solved this by reverting back to older version
But i ll update to 6.1 today, and try to disable those services.

Edit: I have seen you use the Galaxy S2 (GT-9100) ... This could be something different from the S3 (GT-9300)
Is there no other thread available that deals this problem with your phone?
Can you say someting about your phone?
Do you really have a Galaxy S GT-9300?
Which Version is your Google Play Service?
Which Version of Android do you use?
Do you use a custom rom?
What is listed at top of the 'Google Play Serices' in WLD? Is it still the same like that posted by the thread starter?
Best wishes

Thanks for info..did what you suggested wakelock went from 9% down to 1%. I also unchecked Nlp and location history havent had any wierd things happen to my device[emoji106]
FirekatV8/FireGearXXX
I tried but no real improvements unfortunately on my Xperia SP (modded stock 4.3), now reverted to stock play services and battery drain disappeared but nothing works...
Update...
I noticed that the battery drain was really greater if the signal quality was bad...
So if I've good signal quality I haven't same drain than if with bad signal...and there was a BIG difference...
It's normal?

Xposed framework
Hi there,
i've had the very same problem for a cpl weeks and finally found what worked for me :
I had an Xposed module named 'Disable Google Network Location Consent'.
I just had to disable and uninstall the module (click and hold onto it in the module section of xposed).
Reboot.
et voila!!
Big thanks to my friend AoEKiller here on XDA and in RL for the help on that!

I'm still having this issue! Just found this thread recently and installed "Disable Service" app and unchecked those 'wearable and fitness' services.
I hope it really works! Fingers crossed.
Seems to work for me, this has been bugging me for a while.
But I don't like disabling stuff I don't know what they do. What are the fitness and wearable services?
EDIT:
Thought it worked, it didn't... I will have to monitor WLD to see what casues the wakelocks on my phone. I CAN get rid of it but as soon as I start to install apps it comes back.
Stuffs for android wear?
It seems like nobody else is getting this error. I'm from the moto g 4g forums and I haven't found anyone else with this wakelock. From now, I'm using disable services app, but I thought that with the new play services update it should be fine. Guess I was wrong
Maybe some weird conflict with play services and some app(s) that not all users uses? Bad idea?
Seems that I've partially solved the issue disabling the service:
UserPresenceService
After disabling that service wakelocks.was really solved...
