Any word of a recovery coming out soon??? Or roms being developed?
Sent from my LGLS990 using XDA Free mobile app
Not until the bootloader gets unlocked unfortunately, whether or not that's being worked on is unknown to me. At the moment the only variant that has an unlocked bootloader by default is D851 "T-Mobile"
Sorry but if you wanted a phone you could run custom roms on you unfortunately picked the wrong one. If you want stock with xposed tweaks then you got the right one.

Title says it all...I keep reading that houstonn's custom at&t rom has issues and people say this one seems to work better. Is there some kind of special process to making it work for at&t?
I just flashed and added APN for att

Gsm ones can cross-flash roms.

That would explain why I couldn't find it in the att section. Thanks

Hey there, I'm new to the LG Optimus L9 (P769) community and I don't know if this is normal but I don't remember seeing this when I first turned on my phone. The back and menu buttons blink during boot. Is that normal? The only thing I've done is root and install a custom recovery. It blinks at the LG logo.
That's normal after you install the 2nd init recovery. If you push the vol down button while they're flashing, it takes you to CWM.

You're welcome! Now don't try to flash CyanogenMod! It'll give the infamous security error if your bootloader is locked!

Lol I saw people posting around about it. I was thinking of installing that themed ROM for our device. LG sucks lol. Not only you can't unlock the boot loader you can't access it. I'm so use to being able to fastboot boot.img and recovery. I'm kind of confused about something though. When the phone receives an ota , how does it flash it by itself? I know with HTC devices, it reboots to stock recovery and install and I know you can install ruu in hboot.

That's over my head...lol! LG is now following this trend of removing fastboot....how is that following open source policy again?....anyway, if you check the L9 II thread, you'll see what I mean. These evil people also made the Nexus which can be unlocked in 5 minutes and has fastboot. They like getting on our nerves it seems....*sigh*

Are we to assume an LS990 since you're in the sprint forum? If that's the case, share your successful unlock method.

I believe you cannot since different variants have some differences between them. You would have to flash sprint based rom and then reunlock it.

I thought there was a hardware difference to, but I believe it's the location of things on the file system is different too.

Some have successfully used the Cloudy ROM which is based on an international variant, but you need to read up as the LS990 requires some additional detail. Check out the non-carrier specific forums and the Sprint specific Questions and Troubleshooting.

sold my G3 now i've got note 4.
You could try cloudy g3 (on the international thread) but IT ONLY WORKS ON GSM NETWORKS NOT SPRINT. ITS NOT MY FAULT IF YOU BREAK YOUR PHONE(S).

Minor hardware differences exist even between ls990's. But mainly the boot.img, kernels are definitely different between g3 variants. Not by much but enough where they each require a different config file when building. Modems play a role as well but I'm not sure to what degree if yours is unlocked. However I know from trying that if I flash another variant's rom, I get a secure boot error, no matter what I wipe before flashing - which is the kernel. There isn't any harm in just trying as long as you have a nandroid to restore but I was never successful getting international or even verizon roms to boot on the ls990.
Different variants use different Bluetooth chipsets, too, so even if you get an international ROM to work BT might not work.
Is there a list or can we start one regarding safestrap ROMS? Love the phone and its the MDK locked bootloader so im stuck with safestrap. Currently using gogolies amazing roms and i enjoy checking other roms, but not sure which i can flash.

you have the MDK bootloader? you know this bootloader can be used with TWRP and can flash AOSP ROMs, right?
Let me rephrase what I was saying I have the Verizon s4 which was MDK bootloader but since it has been updated to nc5 and k1 and so on and I was just looking for a list of ROMs
To use with safestrap however I'm trying to find an mdk odin file and go back to that stock mdk and loki the phone
Sent from my SCH-I545 using XDA Free mobile app
Once you've upgraded past mdk there is no going back.

Yeah, but back to the original question--is there a list of ROMs 'flashable' with Safestrap?
