Lenovo Vibe X2 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
i've just bought the new Lenovo Vibe X2 directly in china (model X2-TO, dual sim), the phone comes with cn firmware without gapps but you can flash the ROW firmware (official X2-EU) that contain the full gapps, but i have the following problem:
using X2-TO firmware: connection possible only in edge
using X2-EU firmware: no radio detected
It's possible to flash a different baseband? Inside the rom package package found at needrom site, i see two different baseband (.img file), but i don't understand how to use it.

Hi
Just use any root explorer and copy and replace modem.img in /system/etc/firmware/modem.img with the one from needrom site and set proper permission rw-r-r (644) and reboot your phone .

Hi,
unfortunately the device is noot rooted, and i haven't found a procedure to do it yet...

Connect the phone with USB debugging enabled to PC via USB cable and run the motochopper (run.bat file). follow instructions in cmd prompt . Now the tool should push the exploit and root your phone. if no device is detected, install the correct drivers and try again.

Vibe X2 Radio not working
Dear all
I bought a Vibe X2 in China and installed the ROW ROM. Unfortunately the baseband (2G,3G,4G Modem) will be not recognized. I tried all the recommend root kits but no root kit is working. Do you know how I can root my Vibe X2 in order to install the correct modem image?

I just found this on net but not tested if work or not.
Download and copy SuperSU File on your device’s internal memory
Super SU --> http://www.mediafire.com/download/3q679a2jelhcumc/UPDATE-SuperSUv1.94.zip
Now connect your phone with USB.
Download, extract the SP flash tool to your local computer and click on Flashboot.exe
SP Flash Tool --> http://www.mediafire.com/download/kmt3bjcga3pyymf/SP_Flash_Tool_exe_v3.1344.0.212.rar
Now click on Sacatter file loading button and select the scatter that you are about to download to your computer
Scatter File -->http://www.mediafire.com/view/1ay2bacoyqo3mow/MT6582_Android_scatter_emmc.txt
Now select the Check Box BOOTIMG and select the Boot IMG that you download below.
Boot Image and CWM Recovery --> http://www.mediafire.com/download/cxc72ujjpxrg3if/Root_Lenovo_Vibe_X2_XDA.rar
Now select the Check Box RECOVERY and select the RECOVERY IMG that you just downloaded above.
Now Bookt in recovery mode (power key+Volumeup+Volumedown).Slect recovery mode and click install FROM SD Card.
Select UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94.zip and this will root your device and add the SUuser

I would love for a solution in order to change the baseband on the X2-TO. I'll even pay for it, if someone is willing to put the time in it. I love the phone, but I hate the fact that I can only get EDGE, if I'm lucky.

Unfortunstely, whatever you do, your device can't have 3g network because you bought wrong device. X2-to is based on TD-scdma network which just used in china, china telecom, and can only have 2g if you use wcdma. You should buy x2-cu version which is wcdma version.
Anyway I still looking for root method since I can't move my data without root access.. pleas tell me if anyone know. Thanks
