LG Realm - Security Error - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well, I got the error.
My I tried to turn wifi on the toggle stayed blue and wouldn't connect. I restarted it and was greeted with security error.
I tried LG Mobile Support tool, but it seems my computer can't recognize the phone via USB at all. Yes, I have the correct drivers.
This phone has the <3e> recovery, but I don't have file to perform an update from. The L70 is the same phone, and people have a working recovery on that. Is there anything I can do?

Hi there, @vwnut13,
This forum, About xda-developers, is the location for people to post and make threads about the XDA Developers website itself. It is not a place to ask device-related questions.
Therefore, I'd like to redirect you to ask your question in either the Android Q&A, Help and Troubleshooting forum or the general Questions and Answers forum. There will be people there who can help you.
Thanks.

[Q] Root request: Alcatel Onetouch Pop Icon A564C

Hello,
Just purchased this phone and would like a root in order to expand its storage. It's a new offering from TracFone and is limited for on-phone storage. Other than that, it's a fairly decent phone considering it is a TF. I searched the forums and found other similar phones, but none matched this one. If someone would be willing to help, you would get a lot of thanks from TF users who bought this phone.

If you have PC follow these:
Try to download "kingo android" in your pc

Thank you for your suggestions. I have tried several of the one-click methods for root (Kingo, Genius, towelroot, framaroot, etc.). All of which have been unsuccessful. Obviously, there is no rom available for this phone. If anyone has any other info, I would really appreciate it.
Expand Memory
I got the same phone same problem while i didnt find a root for it i found out how to install to sd very useful
go to google and type in how to install apps to sd card no root then click on the link for instructables i cannot post link because im a new user worked for me
would really appreciate a root method if anyone has one the storage issue is really annoying -_-
I realize this is an older thread, but I have devised a fully working root strategy for the Alcatel A564C. If anyone is interested let me know. If there is any interest I'll start a root thread for this device.

Hi MotoJunkie01. I saw your post today, and I just got an Alcatel A564C from TracFone. I would be very interested in rooting this device, since the accessible internal memory is so small it makes it almost unusable. Please open a root thread for this device if you feel there is enough interest. Or, if you would be willing, just send me a PM with the instructions. I have been able to gain temporary root permissions on this device using KingRoot, but they go away with every reboot. Also, I have not found any way to unlock the bootloader. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'll get a thread and a guide posted on rooting the A564C. I've had some PMs with interest as well. I'll post the link here once done.
MotoJunkie, fellow R.F. guy here, I have been browsing this site for well over a year and just signed up in fact this is my first post. I was following your information on the LG zone 3 as well. I own a brand new in the box A564C and just can't get it rooted. I too, tried different ways and actually was able to get temp root once with kingroot when the phone was really lagged out for some reason I had root until reboot. But now every version of kingroot that I run comes back with a network error which is strange and didn't used to happen. So please, let us know what you have found out. I am eager to hear back from you. And, thank you so very much for your willingness to share your knowledge.
Just checking back in, to see if any advancements or progress has been made. I'm excited about finally rooting this device and anxiously waiting.

I'm getting a thread started, as well as threads for other various devices. I know you're anxious, but please be mindful that XDA rules prohibit asking for ETAs and such. It's not that I particularly mind, I just don't want to see you sanctioned for rule violations by a moderator.
A couple of things, I I may....
First of all, aside from the rules (not that I'm saying that I don't respect them, I do but at the same time want you to know what I'm about to say is genuine and not out of fear of getting booted off the forum) I want to personally apologize if I came off as asking for an ETA or came off as rude or unappreciative in any way, shape or form. That was not my intent at all, and rather than PM you I wanted to publicly say that I am sorry for that and to let you know as I previously mentioned how much I enjoy reading your posts and am thankful for your willingness to share your knowledge. With that said I won't get off subject or topic again. I just felt that I needed you to know that I was just excited that someone had it figured out is all and I will pay closer attention on how I come across from now on. Take care.

You're are both respectful and courteous, qualities that are coveted and always welcome here at XDA. I didn't take any offense to your questions but I appreciate your kind words. On an update for this device, I'll be posting a root thread early this week coming -- Tuesday or Wednesday most likely. I have threads for this and at least 4 more devices I'll be posting.
Thanks again for your kind words. By the way I'll be posting the link to my thread here, so check early in the week.
I certainly will...thanks for your reply, and can't wait! I will keep checking back periodically. Thanks again!!
Update: I'm experiencing a boot loop on my own device from trying to flash custom recovery. Trying to get this snag worked out and get the tutorial posted. Sorry for delay.
Hey,..noooo problem on this end...again, just grateful you're both willing to work through the issues and obstacles as they come your way (and if it's anything like that happens to me they sometimes seem to come out of no where, just about when I think my task is complete) but also appreciative that you're willing to share. I would like to start a new thread, not to pile on your list of people bugging you about things already, but need to find the right section. It is more of an R.F. type related question with regards to the modems in the phones and weather the modulation techniques and bands capable are software driven like a software defined radio or more hardware dependent. I know as far as bands go the frequency coverage would have to depend on hardware all the way from the local oscillator to the RX strip to the TX PA as far as gain and linearity, duplexors of some type, antenna (s) being resonant at the middle of the desired band (s) but as far as modulation techniques being more software controlled somehow? Anyways, stuff that I am very interested in but haven't found a section??

MotoJunkie01 - I'm curious to know if this boot loop issue has resulted in you stopping work on rooting this device? Although I am still interested in obtaining root on this phone, I'm cool either way. I'm just posting to see if you think obtaining root and posting a tutorial is still in the cards?
Thanks again for your work on this. I really do appreciate it.
I'm sorry guys. Upon trying to flash the device with a stock fir!mware image to fix the boot loop, my device is now hard bricked. I can tell you, in order to root your device, use the latest KingRoot apk. This will give you temp root only, meaning root will not survive a reboot. So, to gain permanent root, install BusyBox (any version should suffice), then download SuperSU-Me Pro from the Play Store (paid app). This will eradicate the KingRoot root binaries from your device and replace them with the latest version of SuperSU. You will then have full root.

Hello.
I will thank you if this method would work on my phone, but I am unsure my root would be successful. I would appreciate the steps you took in order to root the A564C(such as time to root, USB debugging, etc.) and if you can post how your phone is doing since the root. I would be much thankful.

LG K7 MS330 No download Mode, PC does not Recognize, No recovery Mode

I have an LG K7 on Metro. It's in some sort of boot loop. I have searched XDA and the net for a solution and keep coming up with solutions involving download mode. I'm unsure of what to do next. The phone has Error # 9 Authentication error as well as error 1009. When trying to go into Download mode it goes for about 10 seconds and then reverts to the LG welcome screen. When you try to turn it on it just stays on the LG welcome screen or cuts off. When plugging it up to my Windows 10 PC it shows LGE Android MTP Device in the Device Manager. I've tried to download the Drivers from the LG site and ran the installation on the computer with no change. I've tried to update the drivers from the Device Manager Screen with no change. It also gives you the noise when it connects to the PC. LG UP won't recognize the device and neither with the LG support tool. I have tried everything that I am capable of understanding at this point (which isn't much). I have read about trying to get it into EDL but can not find the correct test points... even if I did find the correct test points I'm not sure if that will even help me to fix the device. I need to breathe some life back into this phone. I hope I did not post this in the wrong place, or violate an XDA rule. I just really need some help... XDA has the most complete guides and accurate information I just can't find it about my particular situation. Anyone's assistance or thoughts (written to a non-techy person/non-developer newbie chic) would be helpful. This is week 3 of me scouring the net for answers. Thank you

VS9854CB trying to downgrade lower than 47A results in 'no KS version' error"

I bought a VS985 off eBay and it came with software VS98554CB. Yes, CB.
It fails to downgrade lower than 47A using KDZ. ERROR: no KS version.
Any ideas how to root or downgrade to unlock bootstrap?

Hi @Bullet Saloon,
First, I'm not positive if there is anything you can do about the situation. You might want to use the Search field for this section, as I vaguely recall I or another user had a thread in this section specifically about "KS version". Also try searching for "KS error". But it's certainly possible that after some point on the VS985, it was just impossible to downgrade in any fashion - I don't recall.
Otherwise:
At the possible risk of repeating other suggestions that have been made in other posts of yours about this, have you tried the .TOT method instead of KDZ? I know there are threads about the .TOT method in this section, if you use the site's Search field and select "This forum" instead of "Everywhere", and check the box for searching titles of threads only.
Also, this was so long ago, so I can't remember for sure, but I know there was a way to put the phone into an emergency flash mode (probably not the right name for it). You could get to it by shorting a couple of pins inside the back of the device, but I don't recall the details. Again, I'm sure there are threads about that subject in this section. I have no idea if it's remotely possible to use the QHS-USB recovery method if the phone isn't showing up as being in QHS-USB mode in Windows' Device Manager.
I believe that mode was typically used for the QHS-USB recovery mode that would show up in Windows' Device Manager with the phone connected and the phone had been fairly bricked. The QHS-USB recovery method required specific Windows drivers and Windows software which you should find links to either in the threads in this section that mention it, or if they no longer work, you may be able to find them on the internet in general. The software would allow you to manually flash partitions on the phone.
I see a thread below this one in this section called "DIAG Mode Finally Discovered" which might be the proper name of the QHS-USB recovery mode, and maybe that thread can give you some insight if the "KS error"/"KS version" specific threads don't.
Also, see the link in my signature below [VS985] All VS985 KDZs & TOTs. The OP includes a link at the bottom to my section on Android File Host where I have all the KDZs and TOTs that I collected. I think I don't have copies of the last KDZ(s) that were available, but you can Control-F and find the TOT-related files I have there, although you need the software for flashing TOTs also, which hopefully you'll find in a thread here in this section.
I don't think there are any other ideas for possible recovery other than trying all this.
Good luck, and by all means, let me know how it goes, or if there are any other questions I can answer, although almost any important detail will be too old for me to remember, but who knows, something might come back if you ask a particular question that brings something back in my mind.
Edit: Ah yes! I just saw another thread in this section with "9008" in the thead title. That's another part of the QHS-USB mode: Something like QHS-USB 9008 mode. That's just what Device Manager shows for a device that's already in that emergency recovery mode, or something like that. It's a Qualcomm CPU thing.
I just remembered yet another keyword often used when talking about QHS-USB mode: Bulk.

considering root to retrieve

recently my moto 5g stylus (xt2131-1) got stuck on something like a boot loop, it would start up and freeze on the needlessly animated moto logo. i exhausted the recovery options and was forced to factory reset to un-brick it loosing (possibly up to 100>/ 250gb) data. hoping that like a micro sd card there might still be 'ghost copies' of the data i plugged it into laptop and tried laptop recovery softwares (tried w/ wo usb debugging on), which failed to discover anything. then at the risk of corrupting the 'ghost data' reluctantly installed and ran android recovery apps which only detected new files intentionally-deleted to test their capabilities. im unaware of any other options other than to root my phone in an attempt to have it recognized by my laptop as another external hard drive to scan for 'ghost files'...aside from the handfull of recovery apps no new data was written over the (original data). ANYONE KNOWLEGEABLE IN ROOTING AND RECOVERY ANY HEADS UP OF WHETHER OR NOT THAT'LL WORK WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED
