Hey 008 Rohit. I remember you from Nokia S60V5 custom ROM development scene. Welcome aboard.
Well, the chipset is a Mediatek MT 6589 chipset. Micromax is the exclusive device user (no other phone, YET).
The development on Mediatek chipsets isn't bad. We need drivers and sources. But then we'll find out everything in the next 2 weeks.
Also, Micromax will release Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as well. More good news. More development possibilities.

Are you sure they would update it to 4.2? 'cause thier last superphones didn't get any update although they were worthy of it.

MMX have emerged as a player in the market. Considering the hardware in mind, Canvas HD is capable of running Jellybean 4.2 ( official/unofficial )

It WILL BE running all heavy games without any lag quadcore it is expect huge smoothness tho i never owned any Mmx before am a Samsung and Huawei fanboy anyway I would love to promote our indian companny too
So yea Its a great device hardware wise but Mmx has a history of Sum small bugs on Software(mostly are based on CM sources de-odexed) anyway All in all a great device specially from an indian companny

I am using a rooted Micromax Canvas 5 E481,android 5.1(lollipop) device with unlocked bootloader and its running on Stock Rom and I have installed TWRP custom recovery. Where can i find the marshmallow rom for my device if there is any....I will be great if someone could help me out in finding a Marshmallow rom for my Lolliop running Canvas 5
