I'm on rooted stock 4.4.2 with xposed... When I use Google search (ok Google ) it works well. The problem I am suddenly experiencing is, when I leave the search app (like opening a link into chrome) the phone starts running very choppy. It will lag very badly and be extremely unresponsive. I can remedy this by clearing ram thru long pressing the home key (eventually it responds) or if I back out of Google search with the back key.
I've used Google search a ton, and just recently began experiencing this issue. Until. Recently it was a smooth operation to use the app, press home key and move on to my next task. I've cleared app data and reinstalled the updates several times with no luck. I've searched and haven't came up with anything. Has anyone else experienced this?

To start off, I have searched for a solution to this problem on here, and I have found nothing about it. I apologize if this thread exists (I have searched for it) and if it does, then please point me in the right direction. Thanks. As for the problem, every time I try to open the Google Play store it closes right way. This did not happen before receiving the Jelly bean update. I was wondering if any of you have encountered a similar problem. If so, have you found a way to fix it? Additional information: Stock jelly bean, unrooted

Unfortunately, I have tried that and it did not work. Basically it at least pulled up the play store page for a second then immediately crashed, instead of crashing right away. Still crashed though

Had Google play crashes myself after my navigation/maps was crashing too...now that its a known fact about navigation having issues I've just waited patiently for that particular fix....I seemed to have gotten lucky and don't have Google play crashing for last 2 days by:
A. Not using navigation til fix os found
B. Wiping 3x and reinstalling stock rooted chubbz jellybean rom.
Don't know if it has direct corrolation to navigation issue buts at least kept Google play from crashing for me since. Hope that helps.

I'm sorry if this has already been asked. I've used google and the forum search to the best of my abilities, I've read through threads but I don't have time to read through a few thousand pages for the ROM. I honestly can't find a single other person having the same issue.
When I press the mic button on the keyboard to start Voice Typing, I get the message that unfortunately, Google search has stopped working. Once this happens, I can no longer use the regular keyboard or Voice Typing. The keyboard will show up and immediately disappearing every time. Every time I try to type something, the same message pops up and immediately disappears. Long hold of the Search button does the same thing. I can fix this by disabling Voice Typing, but that's not a solution for me.
I am running AOKP 1.22.13_B. I have done a factory wipe/reset. Cook's ROM wipe. I've formatted everything on the phone that I possibly can. Numerous reinstalls and wipes and etc etc later, I still have the same issue after a completely fresh installation. I don't understand what's happening here.
Aaaaaaand nevermind. The Play store wasn't showing any updates for Google Search, but when I searched manually for Google Search, it had an update. Update fixed my problem.
Why wasn't the Play store showing the update for Google Search? It showed an update for gmail, but nothing else.
I had the exact same problem & your Post Solved It
I was searching frantically for the same problem as yours, & then i stumbled upon this post.. :fingers-crossed:
I use swiftkey for typing & when i tried using voice input, it used to show me the same error " Unfortunately, Voice Search has stopped "
So when i read this, i thought, if there is no update, why not uninstalling & reinstalling ??
I Uninstalled the Voice Search App from Play Store & Reinstalled it..
And "tada" it worked.. Im loving the typing by voice now..
Thanks to your question which gave me that ide..
Hope you try the same..!!:good:
Hello everyone
I've been trying for a while to get the Google Search to listen to me, but so far, no success. The problem is, every version of the app (except for the 3.3) works fine until I hit the voice search button, causing the app to force close.
So far, I've tried updating my /system/lib, and I had only got a slight more of a delay before force closing, again. I've tried various versions of the app, same thing, 3.3 won't even start properly. And no, I can't update the app through Play Store.
I'm running CM11 Android 4.4.2 with the gapps provided there.
So guys, ideas?
Has anyone come across this problem and/or have a possible solution? When trying to access websites that come up in the Google app search, the app closes and goes back to my home screen. This problem only happens when trying to open pages and not just searching for key words. I've uninstalled updates and cleared data for chrome and Google app but still no joy.
Hi , do you have custom rom instaled on your device and did you tried to update Google Play services ?
After the CSC8 update I noticed when using Google.com as my search with the Samsung Internet app, whenever I type something in the search and hit the search button nothing happens anymore. I have to exit the app several times to get the search to eventually go through. Anyone else having this issue? I should add Ive tried clearing cache and data with the Samsung Internet app and also wiping the phones cache.
I was having the same issue earlier, but it only happened today. One thing to note it did not happen after I applied the csc8 update.
I just tried a.google search again and it worked. Maybe a temporary Google issue?
