Missing the LTE Option - LG G2 Mini

I have the LG G2 MINI, the D620K variant. It has 4G LTE written on the back of it and it has the LTE branding all over it under its back cover as well. But when I enter the mobile network settings, there is no option for LTE there? It only has the options for WCDMA + GSM, WCDMA only and GSM only. If I get a 4G enabled sim, would that help me get the LTE option in the mobile network settings?

LTE Missing
I have the same problem with a LG G2 Mini D620R... You can set the LTE downloading the NETWORK app from Store.
It is not the best solution, i guess, ´cos you need set it every time turn on the phone...

[Q] Default to HSPA+

hey all,
looking at getting this phone this weekend, but curious about the LTE.. I live in a rural area that doesnt have LTE, we will be on HSPA+ for a while yet. Carrier is Telus in Nova Scotia.
I have read that LTE is a bit of a battery hog, if there is no LTE in my area will the phone keep hunting for LTE?
Can i "disable" LTE and have it default to HSPA+?(primarily for battery consumption)
Thanks
EDIT: sorry i just notice the post about questions going in the Q&A, sorry, if a mod could move it, that would be great
Yes you can disable it. which carrier are you with?
Hi, I have the AT&T S3 and I've used the code *#2263# and selected WCDMA and the frequency, and now it stays on HSPA
I hope it helps!
Thanks thats what I was getting at (wasn't sure if you guys had that option or not) OP there is your method.
You can also get the app Phone Info to change your settings
Excellent Info! Thanks
Do you think the battery life will be better ?

There was a way to get out of this before, I think it involves you taking out your sim card.
Ah, here it is. Try this!

Does this mean that some ATT phones have a different modem than other supposedly identical ATT phones??
i found there is no need to use codes, etc

GSM/HSPA (Auto Mode)
GSM Only
HSPA Only

For ATT phones this option is locked out. FYI. Tmo, Sprint and Verizon it's prolly not. Only annoying thing about ATT's version so far. My HOX is the same way.
Root and you can access it I think.

Google for the Sprint APNs and then add them in the phone.
Settings -> Mobile Network -> Access Point Names (APNs)
Then add it there.

Lock into LTE only Mode?

Does anyone know how I could lock into LTE only mode? The phones I am using (T-Mobile & AT&T S5) is not rooted. Nor am I allowed to root it. I've search through all of the debug menus and its seems like I can only lock into certain bands. I havent had any success sending AT commands either....but I am not sure this would still even be capable as I do not know the Qualcomm AT commands to lock into a certain RAT.
Try this: Dial *#*#4636#*#*, look for LTE only option and select that. Hit home to clear out of dialer. Hope this works!

Ok, so I figured it out. If you dial *#2263# and select "LTE Band Preference" it will lock it into LTE only (I am using an unlocked T-Mobile phone, not sure if that makes a difference). I have confirmed this via AT Commands. I have a new question. I have queried what bands can be selected. Does anyone know which one would be for LTE Band 17? What is "41.WLAN_US_5000"...

That link shows an LS990 ZV4 unlocked on an international carrier. Sprint has always been willing to unlock the SIM for use with an international carrier. Even with Google Translate, none of the posts on that site make any sense. Were you saying this somehow meant domestic GSM unlocking was now possible?

this will unlock for domestic use? I have internationally unlocked, but would love to unlock domestic
Someone said change SPR to OPEN setup SIM and APN then change OPEN to spr reboot recovery wipe cache and this will make good for Domestic APN..I will try later on today and report back
Yeah it works...4G US GSM carriers
Im stoked to hear it works. 4g and spark hardly exists here. Can you report which carriers you connected to successfully with 4g? I heard only 3g was possible on tmobile (which has my interest for sim)

You need to fix the permissions to the build.prop to stop fc errors after editing the build.prop on the G3.
Everytime you edit the build.prop you need to fix its permissions before restarting your phone.

Network mode missing

Hi, I just recently use LG G5 Model F700K Korean variant and I notice that it missing the network mode for switching 4G and 3G connection. I also try hidden menu but mine doesn't show network test at all. Is there any way to access this menu???
I'm on LS992 running a GSM card.
I can toggle 4G/3G by going to Settings > Mobile Data > Menu > Mobile Networks > Network Mode > "Automatic" for 4G LTE data, "GSM/UMTS" for 3G data.
Using hiddenmenu APK, I can do it by selecting Field Test > Modem Settings > RAT Selection > "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto" for 4G LTE data, or "GSM/WCDMA" for 3G data.
However, these were not accessible to me either until I switched from Production to Lab network using the hiddenmenu APK.

My apologies, I meant to include the link but didn't save it last post. Link to the APK installation file for "HiddenmenuCall" app is in the following guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g5/how-to/guide-gsm-unlock-sprint-lg-g5-t3574819
Essentially follow the guide and skip steps 4-6 (unlocking carrier bands, unless you want to do this too.) It will prompt you to turn on app installs from unknown sources in step 2; do so for this app and turn off after this installation is complete to keep secure.
