Hello!
Does anyone familiar with a "no notification sound" problem when notification sound is set inside the app (Notification Settings) and the device is not muted, not in blocked mode, sound level is not zero, "show notifications" is checked for the app, and yet NO SOUND is heard when receiving messages, even in the notification settings test in the app ?
The above is true to both Go Sms Pro and Handcent apps, same after uninstalling and reinstalling.
Did someone encounter this problem?
Device Info:
Galaxy S2 GT-I9100
CM11 ROM (KitKat 4.4.4)
Thanks.

I have a strange problem. I had handcent installed, but it became laggy and I installed GoSms. I liked that better and I uninstalled handecnt.
The minute I did that, sms sound of notifications on GoSms went gone!
And I tried reinstalling it.... nothing,
I turned back on stock notifications, and they work normal (for stock messages, not GoSms)
I tried installing back handcent, but still no notification sound in GoSms, I don't understand!
I also installed some sound managers and what ever I do when handcent's notifications are disabled, all notifications are muted and you can't turn them back on what ever I do...
Help!
Stock notification for messaging only works on that app.
Maybe you can check the notification settings of Go SMS app itself.
After couple of hours I found the solution...I had to get my notification ringtone in system ringtones in GoSms, not in music (I selected the same mp3...),
stupid app...
I installed the Individual Settings plugin for Pansi SMS app on my GS2, however it does not change the notification sound for selected contacts. The notification icon and privacy notification settings work fine, just not the sound (instead it plays the app's default notification tone). What to do?
(If It helps, I noticed that pansi was having trouble with multiple sms apps on my phone and started receiving double texts, i have uninstalled all other apps since then, that fixed the double text problem.)
Hi
I have just restored my xperia mini pro to default (running .62) and have encountered a problem.
Before resetting I had a different notification sound for email(general notifications) and text message but now the have the same sound and I can only find one place to set it in setting.
Anyone know how to get different sounds?

I'd like to know this too but am running miniCM7
Try GO SMS Pro (Advanced settings)
An easy way to bypass this inconvenience is to use GO SMS Pro as your default SMS app. In Settings->Advanced->Notification Settings->Default Notification Settings->Select ringtone: you can select another sound for SMS notification and keep your default only for email notifications.
Hi,
I recently migrated from iOS to Android Lollipop. I am very disappointed the way Android deals with application notifications. In iOS, I used to disable all pop-up as well as notification bar notifications for Whatsapp while the audio alert will be enabled so that I can hear the audio notification n understand a whatsapp message has arrived while others who peep on to my device won't understand from which app the alert came. I don't see that option here. I tried everythin under the Application Notifications settings but no luck.
Can someone look into this and let me know if it can be done in Android? If so, what am I doin wrong here?
I'm using GO SMS (older version) and recent True Phone; I would like to have badge notifications of unanswered/new calls and messages. I've tried Hola/Go/CM launcher and notification app but it does not work, it shows notification but only for system applications.
Is there anything better in Lollipop for this matter or maybe you know a working solution that does not include installing Xposed ?
