Hey there..I have a problem with my gallery. It isn't showing all photos in file manager .when i received photos yesterday from my friend which were received in the Bluetooth folder , I went to the gallery to view them but I didn't find them so i tried copying the Bluetooth folder in DCIM. Then i went back but still nothing happened. I also realized that when i take a retrica photo it doesn't appear in gallery but they appear only in file manager. Any suggestions?

Hm..never had this problem. Try app collecting everything. ( all SD cards)

Check there file names, they prob have a character which marks them as hidden.
yup i think something hides it but i don't know whats that but they aren't the characters

Hi I have recently found out that most of my new downloaded images from apps such as Whatsapp and Kik are not working now. Camera images show up fine in the gallery, and the pics are on my SD card as i checked through PC and Astro File manager where i can view them. I have restarted my phone numerous times and let everything settle but it did not work as I have seen it worked for similar problems for other people. SO Does anyone else have any ideas on how to get the pictures in my gallery? When i try to set one of the pictures as my wallpaper it doesnt work, presumably because the phone gallery doesnt think its there :/ Thanks if anyone can help
Try deleting all thumbnails using file manager n just reboot ...it might help

I fixed this by myself. I simply went into file manager, moved everything out for the folder it was in, then moved it back in and it now shows up all the WhatsApp pictures i couldn't find before. So, if any moderator wants to close the thread or anything they can ;D

Most secure way is to freeze/disable gallery and use 3rd party apps for pictures and videos.
Make sure there is no extension on your file. Change your view in windows to show full file type.

You need to clear data from media storage also and reboot. It's under all applications

If you use QuickPic, you can "exclude" the folder with the video in it by long pressing it and picking "exclude"....if you do that then you can disable the stock gallery and you'll be good to go.

Hey guys, so I have a rooted Droid Bionic on a custom ROM. My gallery has been working fine but all of a sudden it doesn't have any more files showing up. They are still on my phone which I can see with a file explorer but they just don't show up in the gallery at all. It's just blank with a toast notification saying 0 images/videos available.
I've tried clearing data and cache, uninstalling and reinstalling just the apk from titanium backup. I installed gallery ics from the play store. After all of that it's still blank. Any ideas would be really appreciated. thanks

There have been reported issues all over in regards to media getting deleted on the sd cards. so far IMHO is to create a blank .nomedia file on both the root AND your media folder (just to cover all basis). It has seemed to work for me so far and another tab that I get to work on.
basically use whatever file explorer you use and create a 'new file' and call it .nomedia (dot - nomedia) and that should cover it.

I just tried that. I used ES file explorer and my gallery is still empty. I restarted my device but still the same. Thanks for the suggestion though. Any more ideas?
Well I just downloaded quickpic after seeing some people suggest it as an better gallery app and it does show my pictures. Which makes it even weirder that the stock gallery app doesn't work.
Hello all I rooted again recently after getting the 3 XX update from verizon.
and now that im rooted I cant get gallery to see any images in any folder except what is now taken with camera app.
any ideas.
restarted phone, cleared cache, restarted app, shut down phone and turned back on, tried different camera apps, different gallery apps....... all with same result that it will not see any of my pictures or videos I took before rooting or see any images in any other folder.
so im lost as to what to do to fix it.
Rom is OTA plus rooted is all.... nothing else was changed.
Im still a newbie but I know enough and i cant figure it out.

If I remember correctly, the files are stored in a different place in 4.2,2 then in 4.1.2. Do some searching to find the folder, and move your pictures there

ive tried moving folders and files..... but the issue is that the pics i have are in the same folder as the 1 pic i took once rooted..... so they are in the same folder. its like the gallery wont see anything else but what is taken from the camera now.
just stuck as to why its doing that..... had pics be seen in other folders before. i even have another folder on the root of the phone, well emulated sd card.... called Pics and it does not see those either.
noticed though that the camera does see the pics i took before but when i open the gallery to view those pics they are not there.
even booted into hboot and bootloader then restarted and still nothing.
oh and also i was already on 4.22 stock from verizon..... had some pics and a vid i took.... then rooted and now can't see pics and vid i took before I rooted.
found an answer i think
Ok think i figure out the issue.
the pictures i had on my device were not in a folder that the gallery app recognizes by default, so it was a naming issue and location issue. I moved the old pics taken with my camera before rooting to the folder labeled "Camera" and now the gallery an see all my images.
Before pics were in the folder named Camera....and now they are in a folder named 100MEDIA... very strange but happy it all ok now.
hope my issue helps someone sort out a problem if they ever have that issue like i did.

Hello everyone, ever since upgrading to android 10 im having a weird issue with pictures in my phone.
1. im using an chatting app called viber, for some reason i cant share screenshots within the apps photo share icon, some time before my screenshots didnt even show up there, i could find them manually but trying to send it gives "file not found" , now i can see them without searching for them, but still cant share them.
2. other thing is some pictures just randomly disappear from my google photos app, usually edited screenshots, after some time they are just gone.
3. downloading pictures from chat in one of the games i play "rise of kingdoms" also disappear after some time, those pictures are stored in "Pictures" folder created after the first download, but that folder/album later on is just gone from my photos app, those are also in annoying jpg!large format that i cant even open from file manager app until i remove !large extension.
btw all the things mentioned above , photos are not removed, they are still in my phone i can find them all in my file manager but i cant see them in google photos app, i also cant see them from any other chatting app when i want to share pictures. camera photos, photos downloaded with google chrome , seem to be fine and they never got removed from google photos so far.

I do have the same kinda issue with photos. For example, I want to share a pic while being in WhatsApp, Viber but it won't show me all the folders of the pics. I have to go to Gallery and share it from there.

yeah, same.. also screenshots that i edit just get removed from gallery at some point. did u try factory reset?
