I was messing around with some themed apks and it didn't work....
I made copies of the stock apks but they are not there anymore for some reason.
I need the
dialer apk
Contact apk
MMS apk and odex files for each
I'm on 4.4.2.
I have a back up but didn't want to use it if what I did is salvageable.
Thanks

This should help. I downloaded the zip found in the link in the OP and just stored it on my laptop so I have access to all the apk's as needed. They are for 4.4.2 NC5, if you need help with the permissions or anything, let me know.
Thanks!

This is my first post here, and sorry if this has been asked already but I could not find it either here or elsewhere on the interwebs...
Does anyone know where I can find the stock VoiceDialer apk and odex for the Vibrant?
I deleted both thinking it would just get rid of the app in the drawer, but now (quite predictably in hindsight) the voice dialer does nothing in my phone dialer.
Also, once I find the stock files what is the best way to install them?
Obviously I am a noob, but learning!
Thanks in advance.
Ok, I found the apk and odex. Can someone help me properly install them?? Thanks.
locate the file and just select it.. it should install the Voicedialer for.. if not just go to /system/app and copy or move both file.. restart you phone..hope this works for you.
Moving the files to system/apps and rebooting worked. Guess I didn't think it would be that simple. Thanks.
I deleted voice dialer with titanium backup, and am now unable to restore (I think because I updated to froyo). Could someone provide me with the files I need to restore Voice Dialer please?
As the title states, i foolishly uninstalled contacts.apk to install a different dialer in MIUI 11.1.25 and now i have absolutely no dialer at all. Market dialers will not install and i cannot find the location to restore my backed up contacts.apk to. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

the contacts.apk goes in system/app
Or you could just reflash your rom.
I appreciate the responses, nevertheless i attempted to copy and finally found an app that would do it, the contacts files to system/app and do not know what to do from there, it is as if nothing happened. I copies com.android.contacts-20111201-203151.properties, com.android.contacts-20111201-203151.tar.gz, and the other contacts.apk.gz file too the system/app folder. Now what? do i have to change the file name or something?
Hi all,
I've just rooted my tablet today. In the process of removing bloatware, I accidentally removed Gmail and really need to have the Tablet S's specific Gmail apk file to install it back. It's impossible to install from the market, probably due to the android version.
And hell, why can't Google update the market a tablet version of gmail instead of telling to my face that my device is "incompatible".
Thank you.

Try this link. I cant access the mediafire at work so not sure if it will work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944069&highlight=gmail+apk
No this can't work. The link you posted are the APKs for Froyo. Tablet S runs Honeycomb, and needs a specialized version for the tablet screen.
I will need someone with a rooted tablet to get the APK for me :-(.
Edit:
I can see that you have a rooted S. Could you mind grabbing the APK named Gmail.apk from /system/app/Gmail.apk and upload somewhere? That'd be great.
Edit:
Installed that random Froyo apk (just so the system are fooled that there is some Gmail app). But running it will lead to the app being forced closed.
However, I used root explorer to replace the Gmail apk with the apk from this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1310267
And it runs beautifully
Have you downloaded it from the market?

No. I use the APK from the link above. You need root explorer to access the system folders.
You can simply replace your current APK with this one, set the right permission and reboot your tablet. That should work.
But back up your original APK - I hold no responsibility if somehow the APK doesn't work on your tablet.

Hello.
Can someone tell me how to install the Social Hub on the Wanamlite ROM? I tried to copy back up the .apk file and reinstall it, but that does not work.
Any help would be much appricated.
Thanks
Wanam has also posted a samsung package with several samsung apps in it.
Social hub is included, see here for download: http://wanamlite.com/2012/04/03/wan...4-0-3-stable-blue-ics-stock-themed/#more-1223
It might be necessary to install more apk´s to make social hub work, I don´t know, because I´m glad I got rid of all that mess
Within CWM you can install apk files you´ve put on your sd-card. You should have Unknown Sources enabled to install them.
Thanks for your reply. Do I have to instal the samsung apps zip our is port in the hidden zip file?
I don´t know for sure. Download zip for sure
The way it looks, I would try to flash the zip from CWM. But that means then you´ll have all the samsung apps back.
If you don´t want that, delete the ones you do not want to have from the zip file before flashing.
I have downloaded the Samsungapps zip and the SocialHub apk file is in there. Is it just a case of installing the .apk file or are there other files that I will need to install too to get the SocialHub to work?
Thanks
Leave the folder structure in the zip as it is. Just delete the apk´s you do not need and give it a try.
Is it not working, start again now only with apk´s deleted of which you know for sure you do not need.
Thanks for all your help. I managed to install the Social Hub, but ran into another problem. When I try to set up an account with hotmail, it doesn't allow me to click on the link.
When I click it nothing happens. Facebook and Twitter work fine though.
Oh well. I guess I'm not gonna have the social hub.
I am running jellybeans with a red theme and want to install an inverted red gmail apk. I have paid root explorer and have tried to figure out how to do this with searches and such, but most just say to rename gmail.apk and then install new apk. I can't even find stock gmail.apk :crying:. Installing zips through twrp is simple lol, this has me stumped.
I am on Verizon. The red gmail apk is in att thread but hoping it will still work.
Thanks,
Glenn

You could also just uninstall your current Gmail and install the themed version as a normal apk. You might need to reboot in between.
Okay, here is what I had to do thanks to help from several sources lol.
1. Go into app manager and uninstall gmail.
2. Download the apk file you want to install (either to dropbox or straight to phone)
3. Open the downloaded file and click install .
4. Enjoy themed gmail!!!!
Whoo Hoooo.
Probably should have rebooted after uninstall of stock gmail app, but worked without this time lol.
Thank You
