well it will go like kit kat
once it is officially released, someone would then release its sources and then someone would create the rom for our device
hope @munjeni returns for our xperias
It'd be really increadible to see working Lollipop on Xperia P, a 2012 phone with newest software? I'll take it The devs don't have all the source codes for hardware, so I imagine optimizing for our devices won't be buttery smooth (as it isn't with Kitkat either)

128mb? for lollipop? i don't think so...kitkat rom is over 200 mb...so it's totally fake....also sourses are few days relesed, and devs in Xperia U Dev Thread said that we have no such skilled professionals to build even alpha rom so fast...
by the way, look at the screenshot on that link....build number is KOT49H, which stands for Android 4.4.2...
this all was my IMHO

I don't think Sola will be able to handle Lollipop properly, because of the low RAM and old GPU.
Lollipop is full of visual overhaul and animations.
My Xperia Sola on ICS has no lags and 120mb free ram now wihout task killer.
Xperia U has same specs and android Lollipop (Previev) is now available for this phone

no the kernel is old i.e 3.x.x kernel
Its not just the kernel ,the whole OS is new ...Xperis Z's hardware is close to Nexus 4 barring the camera ...Same chipset/GPU ....Also porting is not magic which can be accomplished in one day ....
Can it be ported ? Yes ,maybe ..who knows
Will it be ported the next moment I make this thread magically ?
No ..it requires time ...1 week,1 month ,1 year,Never ... No one can tell ...

Hmmm....i don't quite understand why people is eager so much on KitKat running on our devices...are you all eager just because it can run on 512mb ram? if you do then you should read this....
Final note, a lot of folks are reading into the "512mb" item on the release notes. No, this does not mean a sudden resurrection of older hardware, there are dependencies beyond the RAM (and CM has enforced that minimum since ICS)

that is taken from Cyanogen itself...even if CM Team able to build it, doesn't mean it will work flawless on our devices and the camera will be as crappy as in JB Rom...

Well guys here is a good news for all NovaThor device users, the android kitkat (4.4) has been successfully ported to samsung galaxy s3 mini based on CM 11 the ROM is bug free galaxy s3 mini which is a NovaThor chipset device.
Hope so developers take interest in this and port it to our xperia p,u,go,sola

Ok, so release is coming as I said. But don't expect it to be bugfree - we made a new device sources (it was easier than porting sources from 4.3 and better for overall performance) and we need your reports about bugs!
Starting from tomorrow we're planing everyday nightlies - both CM11.0 and CM10.2 (but remember, CM11 is getting hundreds of commits everyday, so somedays we won't be able to compile it properly, what means no nightly sometimes).
Also Xperia developers asked me for help they to boot CM11 on their Novathor Xperias. As I said to them, I will do my best to help them get working CM11 on other Novathor devices.
So stay tuned, make backup and get ready to test!

with 512 mb RAM will be able to run 4.4 smoothly. Now we have to see that 1x2 ghz xperia p with 1 gb Ram gets a official update or not.
How would be the idea of porting s3 4.4 rom?

Ok I am waiting
I have been writing about your ROMs for S3 mini on my site wondering if you can do it for Xperia U also. Good to see you here Cheers!
Hi all,
I am a developer working on Xperia U. Recently with @munjeni we have fixed Bluetooth in CyanogenMod 11, then Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi direct. Currently I am working on (Xperia U) ambient sensor light and FM radio (that will work also on P/Sola and Go).
I open this thread because our CyanogenMod 11 builds is based on almost the same code. The problem is that the updates by CyanogenMod's devs broke at least weekly our builds. So I decide to focus my work on more stable pure Android ROM that once finisched, will be bugless and very smooth.
What I want do:
1) Create common repositories within all common codes and bins/libs.
2) Create specific repositories within device specific stuff.
3) Refactor,clean and update all configuration/make files.
In this way with very low work is possible update the code for almost all devices and so release updated builds in very short time.
What I need:
1) At least one developer per device that sync the changes to his device. Minimum skills requested are: basic knowledge of patch, git and shell.
- Xperia U: @95A31
- Xperia P: @percy_g2
- Xperia Go: @wan5xp
- Xperia Sola: @XperiaMT27
2) Some good devs that help in debug. Minimum skill requested are: have a brain, ability of take logcat's report and understand it, basic C/C++ and Java knowledge, ability of use Google.
3) Some developerss that help in refactor, clean and update all configuration/make files. Minimum skill requested are: basic knowledge of shell and device hardware.
We all need a community effort in order to have a decent operation system. Please if you have the required skills please join, is needed more help as possible.

No offence but what I think is that if we move on to CM14 without fixing the known bugs and there will be a mix of CM bugs and AOSP bugs, which, from my point of view, will be even more harder to debug.

No, definitely not. SONY cannot release the N source code for Z2 is not due to his company's plan, it is due to hardware limitation. In Z2, we don't have OpenGS EL 3.1 that supports Vulkan but Google GPL license demand all devices that can have official OEM support on Android N to have Vulkan compatibility, that's why we cannot have any official source code on N despite the fact that Z2 can actually run N without any problems.
