I have been a regular user for a long time here and I don't like what I see and read here the last weeks.
Users being disrespectfull, demanding etc. And why?
People are working hard on the things they like to do most: hacking, porting, developing. But the reactions some get...
We have rules here at XDA,but some things are also just common sense.

Completely aggree.
The main problem (just my point of view) is that those "noobs" ignore any compents (if I think on hephappy's thread) and think they know everything.
And because they don't work on there own project, they don't know how much work (all in the free time of the devs) has to be done.
Don't worry
Don't worry!
My roms are available via Rom Manager.
Rom manager -> Download rom -> hephappy -> Select rom
No more xda = no more noobs...
Rom manager note:
ROM hosting is free. ROMs hosted via ROM Manager Developer Portal will be listed
in the free section 5 days of the week. The other 2 days of the week, it will be
listed in the premium section. The days may vary from developer to developer
so not all developers are in the premium section at the same time.

I kinda agree here, developers get all the respect, praise and following but they get bossy and abusive at times. Evrerybody likes to have good ROMs but not at the price of self respect I guess.
Everybody has a noob stage in life or maybe someone who you call noob at XDA might be a scholar in his field so XDA is not the end of the world. The best way to treat somebody who you dont like is to 'ignore'.
If a dev has 500 fans and 50 of them are ignorant noobs, even then its not a bad deal.
MORAL: Everybody start giving respect, dont be short tempered, value devs work and try to ignore if thats the only option.
Cheers!

Everybody is a "noob" at one time.Lot of people think they are the boss and call others noobs, but that pretty much wont last long.I ain't a developer but love all the developing works in here. Its really obvious from the thank meters of great devs, how much respected they are in this community.
Not anybody is born really intelligent and talented.
Everybody learn something from others and improve it.That is how the system works.
Everybody has their own field which they are perfect at.In that field, the "bosses" in here could be noobs.
I think everybody should learn to respect others to gain respect.

100% Noob for Reason and Courtesy
I have been a professional developer but for internals and ROMs, I am 100% "Noob." Most of what I see on this little thread is much less than helpful. Enough already.
Anyone who read my posts would see that my tone does not fit the stereotype be harangued here. I do not use the F word, the S word, make ridiculous claims and demands of more experienced (fantastic!) "Devs." Any suggestions I make are with respect and humility. Maybe the ideas will pan out, maybe not.
If I do not have CM10 on this old phone, I am delighted with ICS. (Indeed, Google Now will soon enough work here without JB, a matter of time and ingenuity.) I do hope JB (or as I have termed in more realistically "Jelly-Sandwich") will work on the phone, but there are other things in life. I did not enter XDA for all the negativity and tension. Friendship and respect are more important the ROMs and tweaks.
I dont read p500 so munch like old time, im have buy new device and i busy with that, but this problem has rolling day by day, even before arjen and adam start developing here, it has make alot of casualties like andy, doctornotor, etc..
What you expect from from developer?
Their ideas, their works, their time, so i think they must have bigger egos than me, im just a Leacher... Just download and give feedbacks if you like their works, or leave it like that if you hate he/his works. No need flaming, another person have their glasses and viewpoint.
Xda is made for us. we here for our needs, even every devices will death development, we just try make as long as we can, and flaming is not the way to make our beloved p500 ageless like htc hero...
Thx for all developers That i known for 1.5years till now day in this section... GBU.

How can someone add developers to a phone? Xda isn't a company that has developers that get paid to make custom roms and kernels. Developers here are all volunteers. They don't get paid for what they do. They develop for phones they have.
Show some respect.

you will have to wait its still a new phone even unlocking the phones sim lock hasnt been out long and is only possible through SETools.
give it a while and once ICS is out and the devs get hold of the phone it will happen, altho we have to wait for ICS 1st!!! lol
Once it has ICS you may see more devs. Problem is the phone isnt widely available for free on all carriers and it isnt the flagship model. Most lowend phones receive less dev support.

I'd say that it has to do primarily with sales, not with the status of the phone as high or low end. The Xperia Play was a mid-high end when it came out, and it didn't have a huge community since it sold poorly. The HTC Wildfire and Xperia X8 were thought as mid-low end or low end models and they still have a following: they sold decently well. One has to take into account other factors as well: whether the bootloader is locked or unlocked (this basically blows Motorola out of the water), whether the company is overall hostile or friendly towards devs (Sony has made huge strides to please them, which has shown nice results), the difficulty of making ROMs themselves (Chinese companies have tablets which are easily hackable, but they tend not to publish source code)...
Firstly, this isn't a complain, just a way to try to understand what's happening.
I noticed some devs (from the few we already have) are leaving.
What is the problem? Personal? Phone power? It was only a temporary phone? Users aren't being polite or thankful? Xperia S seems that won't have much developers, this was a fact since the beginning.
Since the beginning, FXP and Xperia AOKP team are here, but a few other devs doesn't hurt. Doing mods, other ROMS (I confess I'm jealous of the number of roms and mods on the Arc forum. Heck, I want that Pureness Rom so bad).
Again, only trying to understand, I AM NOT COMPLAINING.
"I got my values. So you can keep yours, OK?"
A Serious Issue!
Maybe because some users are complaining too much for the hard work they get for free. I think that we should praise our devs more and also that we should donate more. Development of a rom takes days/weeks. Not everybody can afford to do that totally for free. Maybe xda could offer a humble-bundle-like buisiness model for professional devs. (pay what you want). With that we could attract skilled and motivated people. And paying at least 1$ for a rom wouldn't hurt anybody but reward the developers.
Please don't attack me for that. It's just a suggestion. I know how hard development is. At the moment I also have maybe a 100 interesting projects, but I can't afford to realize them cause I don't get paid for that. And everybody needs to live from something.
people here doing those for free, and of course they have life too.. it's sad to see some few people just rant about their mistakes...if there's bug in the kernel/rom..report it, instead of ranting or venting anger :/
hope to see more development for our devices..
MAyB the user complain more & 4get to give credit to the DEV's who have put in hard effort to make it & sacrificed their useful time.
Maybe because they have gotten better phones than the Sony ones... But it is sad yes.. I would love a smooth and fast rom... But hope more devs will come... I have tried a little for my own and will maybe continue xsx kernel but I can't promise anything as I don't have much time because of my final masters degree assignment..
But we must hope for better days ..

Which, somehow, it's strange. Xperia X10 Mini/Pro, X8 are low end 2010 devices. They still have some active devs there.

Who's leaving? I'm not leaving, I'm temporarily studying
I think the MooDeD (what's the right capitalization in that) dev left, but I don't think we've lost much here. Doom is having a lot of problems IRL, and so do I for now. Jerpelea and Kali- are working on 8960 devices, me, Nick and Keiran on U8500 and AOKP for everyone, krabappel and others work on modded stock ROMs and stuff. What else do we really need? I mean, it would be great to see more skilled people here, but we're getting by as we are right now. Give Sony a month or two, and we'll get stable JB with all the stuff working*
* - likely except HDMI, Sony uses a custom protocol that's a PITA to reverse engineer, so it's not a priority.
P.S. Also, Xperia Nexus. If it's real and not Exynos (which I doubt), I'm totally getting it.

I can confirm that we don't always get credit for our work. It's really annoying when users post 10 times the same bug with every release, or keep spamming my inbox with the same request over and over again...

I can only say that I also find it embarrassing so see the hard work you guys put into what we (should) enjoy. I for one am extremely happy with your work and wouldn't think of "this button's too dark" or "your rom isn't sexy enough" or whatever.

I am a fairly new member here and I must say that I love this place. This has been the most useful site I have ever come across, concerning things android. Tinkering with electronics and computers has been one of the things that came naturally to me and so getting my first android was pretty exciting as I've never cared for iOS or Blackberry platforms. I have always been interested in Linux, which probably helped in my decision to go with android ( price also played a factor lol ). My first android was an INQ Cloud Touch, which I immediately rooted, installed busy box and ROM toolbox. Nice phone, but sadly it was also my first and only hard brick. lol. A twitchy thumb and system files = a bad thing. Replacement phone was the HTC Status ( chacha ) which I couldn't get the bootloader unlocked ( did eventually thanks to xda, now running CM9 ). So I went looking for another phone and stumbled on the Samsung Galaxy Ace and fell in love with it. Thanks to these forums the Ace was the first phone I rooted and installed a custom rom on. It is also the one that I've gotten brave enough to try a few different scripts on to extend the internal memory.
My sincere thanks for all the developers here, and for the members willing to offer any help. This is the site I have been recommending to anyone I know who have expressed an interest in improving thier android experience. A little knowledge, some curiosity and a willingness to try anything, can be a great thing...unless you brick your phone, then experience is a teacher as well. lol.
Thanx again.

But first I wanna give a lot of thanks to all of you for the great support and confidence in me throughout my development times here on XDA, I've met some wonderful people and learned a lot. I know people respect me and it's given me a great feeling of satisfaction.
I have some really difficult issues/situation to deal with in real life now, I can't keep running away from it. I'm sorry to announce to the entire community I'll stop development right now.
