[HELP] Can not turn on Wifi - LG G2 Mini

Hi guys, my mom have a D618, she's old so dont know much about Android. She want a long battery life so I rooted her phone, installed Greenify and disabled some bloatware app.
But sometimes I check the phone and notice that wifi cant turn on. I mean it seems to be turning on (wifi icon in quick setting blinks) but it can not turn on. I have to reset phone to fix it but this issue still appears after some days. I couldnt check her phone always so that it even if happens day by day make drain battery so much. I dont know what causes it, and how to fix it completely.
Is there anyone also get this issue like me? Fix experience? Thanks

No one can help?

Screen keeps turning on automatically on MiniCM7-2.1.9 rom

I don't know if it's a bug or not, but when I turn off the display on my phone, it will automatically turn back on after a few seconds. I have no messages or alerts or any setting that I know of that does this, I just can't find a way to make it stop doing this.
Any ideas?
hardware problems would likely be the cause. my girls phone just did that a after a week went compltely blank. SE service center was the last option.
aww really? I did buy my Xperia X10 Mini Pro as a 2nd hand phone and it did have a few dents here and there so obviously it's been dropped on the ground.......but I was hoping it might've been a bug from the rom?
if its a u20i then could be flex which is costly. if its e10i then probably misaligned hardware which is cheap compared to replacing the flex.
it was around 15 NZD for fixing the misalinged hardware (double if it flex problem) but who knows could be a bug of the rom. try reflashing it and do factory wipe

Ya I have a u20i. What's a flex?
I did notice that there's this orange film thing under the USB port, it seemed slightly loose....
the flex is really hard to describe it. try to reflash it first. in that does not work then off you go to SE service center.
After a reflash, it seems to be working fine.
I think it only happens when I plug in the charger, even after unplugging it it would do that 'sometimes'.
BTW could u tell me what that orange ribbon under the USB port is?
sorry i i dont have any clue.
I think I found out what's causing this. I'm pretty sure it's not a hardware problem because the problem always goes away after reflashing it.
However, after I setup my programs and settings, this problem starts to happen. I think it's because I enabled the "automatic brightness" setting. While it's enabled, the screen will turn on every few seconds at regular intervals. But if I disable it, the problem is gone.
So ya, i think it's a bug.
UPDATE:
Ok, the problem is still there. But at least it doesn't happen as much now. I really haven't changed any settings or installed any programs that could've caused this, as far as I know. I've used the same settings and programs on my other Android devices and never had this problem.
It seems others have had the same problem too:

I've tried every suggestion, set wifi sleep policy to never, wifi is turned off (i can't even get it to work properly anyway, as mentioned in another topic I posted). I don't have WeatherBug installed, and since my wifi isn't stable and always drops connection, there's no point for me to sync my data so I unticked that option as well.
UPDATE 2:
Ok I've just noticed that everytime this problem occurs, the screen will turn on 3 times, and then stop doing it for a while, and repeat.
I'm guessing it's doing this because I have unread messages and it keeps showing that under the notification? I use GOSMS PRO and used Titanium Backup to freeze the stock Messaging app, so now I unfreezed it and marked all messages as read, as well as disable the notification in the Messaging settings. I hope this does the trick.....
Sorry for such a long post, but can someone tell me what exactly does this do:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20759383&postcount=2
like, what happens if you change it to a large value compared to a small value? I'm thinking maybe it could be this, as you can also change the settings for the display as well. BTW, this setting wasn't enabled by default, so I dunno if that's the cause or not......

I also had the same issue but was able to get it to stop by doing the following.
- Turn off automatic brightness
- Under advanced settings for wifi, click "Keep wifi on during sleep" and select "never".
Hope this helps some of you.
Also, im running CM9 nightly from 3-5-12

It turns out it was a hardware problem on my fone. I got a new one and haven't had any problems since. Try upgrading to newer CM7 versions, or try out CM9. If not, then go back to stock, coz I've never had any problems on stock even when I was still using my faulty xperia pro.

How do I get back to stock?
i have the same problem after installing 2.2.1. i don't know if they are connecting but for me in this version it doesn't work wifi policy ''never''. every time my phone is idle wifi turns off.
I had the same problem with 2.1.9, then i upgraded to 2.2.1 but the problem was still there, so i analyzed the problem and got the obvious solution, i uninstalled the ram booster app i had and problem solved!! So if you have any ram booster, or task manager or killer or something like that try uninstalling it or changing the settings in that app, i hope to be helpful
i don't have something like that but after a long time i use data and not wifi for internet. i thing that this is the problem

Weird Wifi/data battery voice talk ICS problem

Hi there.
I have a problem i can't seem to resolve or find anyone with something similiar.
I have official ICS with TouchwizUX installed.
I turn on my phone, I don't turn on Wifi/data and the phone behaves like it should. Battery lasts for days without charging.
I turn on my phone, connect to wifi/data, my battery starts to drain and I also have a problem with opening folders... There's this guy sayng "the folder is open" "the folder is closed" (in my language). I don't have the acessibility turned on.
I also checked the internet usage in the ICS new feature. The thing is you can also see the usage whilein wifi. So I checked it out and guess what app appears in the first place? Android OS with more then 1 Gb in a few days. That's just impossible because i actually didn't download anything at all.
And another thing and that I recommend to everyone who's having a similliar with the battery, is to turn off wifi, restart the phone and only turn on wifi/data when needed and then repeat this turn off wifi and restart phone.
Does anyone knows what could be the culprit of this? I mean, many apps could be "using" android OS and the wifi usage in ICS couçd be "lying" about whos really using the internet access right?
Hope someone can help so i dont have to restart the phone everytime I turn on wifi. You can think of it as a solution but if I go to the internetfor half hour I just got screwed by my battery in %40...
Thanks

I think that it's the guy saying "the folder is open" and "the folder is closed".
He is the culprit draining your battery.
And you have already checked all relevant settings?
Settings > Text to speech / Voice recognition / etc.
What firmware version are you running on?
Settings > Phone info > Build version, or dial *#1234# into your phone. PDA version is interesting.
Maybe you should try to flash another ROM version ... one without this guy
And have a look here for some good tips for better battery life => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16973603

I there! Many thanks for the reply!
Well first thing I have to say is that I got to settings and uncheked something under the voice settings (i'm really sorry I can't remember but for anyone who wants to try it search in the voice part of those settings). The guy lost its whistle and doesn't speak anymore. But the strange thing is that my language is not even supported and the guy was talking my language, so it's a bit strange.... I didn't even have the talkback activated.
Ics 4.0.3 XWLPD is my version. It's the unbranded of my country. I installed Syriah kernel to see if it would make a difference with no luck.
Anyway I don't know how that will affect the battery. But it's taking a long time to charge so I belive I only solved one problem.
I forgot to mention that in betterbaterystats and in batery monitor widget I get a lot of kworker activity. Only if the wifi is turned on!
Thanks.
Hi there.
For anyone with the same problem if you have used titanium backup comingo from gingerbread just don't restore the data.
As bad as this may sound the reallity is that probably it gets in conflict with those settings in that thata. Try just to make backups of your contacts and accounts and that stuff. You can do it in titatnium backup one by one.

[Q] Forcing GPS on/off for root user??? (normal on/off doesn't work)

Hi guys! This is my first post here. Also i'm not native english speaker
Ok, right now i own a Galaxy Player YP-G1, rooted it with SuperOneClick like a week ago looking for a way to make battery last for longer time. Actually i've got good results after installing SetCPU and doing some reseach about how to config it.
However i still have a problem related to the GPS radio. It keeps turning on even if i disable it in the status bar and in the device's configuration menu. I've realized this GPS thing drains battery toooooo much and haven't found a way to force it to stay off. Always turns on by itself whatever i do.
Tried to disable autorun on all apps that used GPS localization with Gemini App Manager, still turns on...
I'd like to know if there's a rooted way to keep tgis guy off. Yesterday it turned on in the morning and even having used the music player for less than an hour the battery died extremely fast! and another days that it has stayed off battery has lasted until late night. It has to the the GPS.
Please guys help me, i've had univ courses of java and matlab so i have some idea of what i do when programing, so if it's necesary to write some lines i think i could handle it, maybe. Even better, if there's an app out there that fixes me this issue it would be even better.
Thanks !!!!
Up?
As per my knowledge, battery doesnt drain if you turn on gps and leave it like that forever. Battery drains are observed only when any app like google maps or apps like facebook use gps to set location. It might be your misconception about battery drain while gps turned on.
I would like to give an advice to use pdroid for custom roms. Pdroid is an app that enables you to change permissions of installed app so that you can disable any app to access gps location. This saves hell of battery.
Sent from Hell!!
Well I found an app that so far has kept GPS off since i installed it: GPS Toggle Widget (root)
(can't post the link for being noob )
I'll be updating if it really works in a few days
BTW thanks .xxx. !!!

[Q] SoD Problem on all Roms (seems to be Wifi related)

Hey guys,
I have a "little" problem with my S2. Whenever I leave wifi on and let the screen go off, my phone will get into SoD (sleep of death) and I can't wake it up. This will happen sooner or later.
I have this problem with every ROM I can think of. It's been a long time since I used a stock ROM, so I don't know if this only happens on Custom-ROMs.
Finding out that wifi (or my data connection) was causing those problems was a long process with a lot of frustration and trial and error (catlog won't work or doesn't show anything regarding the problem).
I tried to get rid of this problem with the APP "PNF - Push Notification Fixer" by reducing the heartbeat intervall of the wifi and mobile to 5 and 6 minutes (15 and 28 before) this seemed to reduce the frequency of the SoDs, but they are still happening.
I can get rid of the problem almost all the times with deactivating wifi when I let the screen go off or lock the phone myself. I get the same result when I turn off "Wifi optimization" in advanced wifi setting, but this is draining my battery pretty fast.
So basically I can use my wifi only when the phone is on the charger (no deep sleep at all) or if I turn it off when I lock the phone (something like 30 seconds can sometimes be enough to get the phone into SoD).
With data on and the screen locked I only experienced one SoD and this seemed to happen when I lost my signal at all.
So my conclusion is, that whenever I lose my data connection (might it be wifi or mobile) my phone does seem to get stuck in deep sleep at that moment or the moment it tries to reestablish the connection (the problem most propably got less after using PNF, because my router would kick my phones connection after a few minutes (10 would be my guess) of inactivity and this prevented a long enough inactivity. But they still happen (SoDs)). When I turn both wifi and mobile off and let it go into deep sleep this is no problem and no SoDs happen.
The SoDs were less but also happened when I were on CM11 M11 official, but got really frequent when I switched to Markox89's version of CM.
This is no rant or anything, I just want to get to the core of this problem and wanted to see/ask if there is something different in the Wifi module or wifi settings in this build and what could cause this very annoying problem.
Maybe someone else has this problem, too. Maybe my hardware is just faulty and I have to live with this :/
If it wasn't for this problem this ROM would run pretty smooth and flawless.
Does anybody else have the same problem or somehow knows how to get rid of it? This would get a lot of frustration out of my everday life :victory:
My setup right now:
- Markox89's CM11 Mod (22.11) (4.4.4)
- Lanchon's TRIM Kernel for CM 22.11 (same problem before using TRIM)
- Lanchon's Music bug fix (same problem before using Music bug fix)
- Modem: XXMS4
EDIT:
- XPosed with Xprivacy
- common apps like Threema, Telegram, whatsapp...
Tl;dr: my phone gets stuck in deep-sleep (SoD) if I leave wifi on when my screen turns off. no problem with mobile on or both data connections off. Halp?
@xhoster try to clean flash a rom and try it without all those apps you are using and then you can see or its app related or rom related. If it's rom related then I think some people already posted before there.
Also maybe try a custom kernel.
Try these things, I can't help you further then this atm.
Also mybe logcat the issue so you can read where it goes wrong.
FINAL EDIT: The problem seems to be the wifi driver all along!
Flashed the Apolo Kernel and this solved my SOD problem only had two since then and those seemed to be APP related!
Happy right now
It's seems to be the xposed framework! Tried it with a fresh installation after RomNuke and the phone was sleeping for 45 minutes and nothing happened, installed xposed and 10 minutes later I got a SoD. Tried it with the 2.7 beta 1 and the 2.6.1 stable version. Both gave me a SoD when I left wifi on...
Is this a known problem or has anybody ever had this problem?
When I tried it, I didn't even installed any modules, just the framework.
EDIT: I am going to test a bit more to see if it really is xposed or just the phone hanging whenever a connection is lost.
