[Q] Xperia P Beanstalk 4.4+ Custom Rom problem - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

I installed the Beanstalk version 4.4.225-20140125-nypon on my xperia P today through ROM Manager. I had the GApps package on the internal storage of the phone as well prior to installation. However, after the ROM was installed, I attempted to install GApps through ROM Manager as well but it didn't work. The phone's just refusing to go into the recovery menu no matter what I do. Even restoring the backups through RM aren't working since the phone is just going through the Sony logo straight to the Beanstalk welcome screen and then on to the home.
I'm totally lost as to what to do now and how to enter the recovery mode so I can either restore backups or install GApps. Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.

HELP: setup wizard has stopped

Alright guys, I need some big time help. I've recently rooted by US cellular s3 by using a link on youtube (it wont let me post it because I'm new).
Everything went well with the root and I was ALMOST done completing everything I needed for my new cyanogenmod 10.1.2 ROM (or whatever download upgraded me to 4.2.2). I downloaded a gaaps package and flashed the zip file it came with and my phone rebooted into Team Win recovery project.... not into the CWM I've been using the whole time. Now when i turn on my phone, it loads to cyanogenmod home screen, but says the gaaps package has stopped and setup wizard has stopped.
I reboot into recovery and it takes me into the TEAM WIN RECOVERY PROJECT instead of the CWM reboot screen i've been using the whole time. Before flashing the gaaps package, I did a nandroid backup of both my cyanogenmod ROM and the unrooted ROM and switched back and forth between both with no issues. Now with the TWRP reboot, it doesn't show anything in the restore tab.
Heres some highlights:
I'm using a Macbook Pro, but could have access to a pc if absolutely needed
No problems until I downloaded a gaaps package (probably the wrong one)
Reboots into TWRP instead of CWM
No restore files available
Please fellas I could use some help! Your responses are greatly appreciated!

How can I wipe the system only using download mode ? (without cwm+ booted system)

Hello
I have a major problem, because I can't use the recovery mode, because something is removed on the system level, that the recovery mode needs to start. (it isn't knox)
Also I can't boot up the system, because of an endless loop, when the device booted into the system, because there is also something removed.
I have now tried to install several other roms, all 4.2.2, but It still has the same errors, because the system doesn't get wiped and the bug remains even on a fresh rom. Stock or Custom. The Aroma Installer would help, but there isn't a rom with it, that is flashable via odin, only cwm.
Only download mode can be used to do something with the system.
So here are my questions:
What can I do, to erase/wipe the system only using the download mode (with odin/?/heimdall/ ?
Bonus: What exactly does the recovery mode needs to start...?
Bonus: Is there a flashable rom for the s4 that has the aroma installer ?
Bonus: Why most rom recently only use cwm to get installed ? (I guess it has alot more options and is easier to handle..)
Would be really grateful for an awnser!
have a nice day and all the best wishes.
I found this:

Is it possible to do it with an Galaxy S4 ?
cant you use odin to flash a stock ROM of your choice, and once its working normally flash CMW/philz touch recovery after that and do the wipe?
i got it.
An older stock recovery version worked for some reason, so i could wipe data.

From my standpoint, you will not have too many choice. As you can not enter into Recovery mode, you can't run any recovery tool to scan your internal sd card. I don't practice Sony as I handle a Galaxy S4 but it may exist a "download mode" in order to do a hard reset for reinstalling from scratch...unfortunately
good luck

I9300 Internationl ROM/Root Issues...

Hey Guys,
I'm having a bit of an issue. Currently I was running STOCK Android 4.3 JB, have been for a while, it started to get a bit slow & I was wanting to fresh install, but also try out a 5.0 lollipop ROM. I've rooted my phone in the past and installed custom ROMs before without a problem (Revolution Remix + Cyanogenmod 11), however, I decided to try Liquidsmooth 5.0 lollipop. i followed this video,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QquFDFEEKlI
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-liquidsmooth-lollipop-4-0-b1-t2980477
I downloaded both files and copied them onto my MicroSD card.
I backed up my data (contacts, images, files etc..)
Booted into "Recovery Mode", wiping Cache & factory Reset
When to install from SD, located file and it started reading/installing (sorry can't remember exactly what it did), but during process it failed. I went back into Android (had to setup again), Went and made sure Developer Mode and USB Debugging was on, still didn't work.
Went to make sure CWM was installed/update, which it said it was (possibly from previous custom installs?), tried updating, failed. It said
Went and installed 'SuperSU' from Play store, but got this error.
Decided to try re-install STOCk 4.3 JB, I
made sure USB Debugging was on
loaded Odin 3.07 (or was it 3.09) and loaded 4.3 Firmware under PDA (left everything else as is)
Started and let it do its thing. It finished/PASSED and phone restarted.
i went back into the phone, installed ROM manager & SuperSU again to give it another shot... but same problem again, getting the error above.
I'm not sure what's happened and I'm not sure what "solutions" to search for... anyone have any suggestions?
At this stage I'm thinking of just going back to STOCK 4.3, then maybe try again (either with Liquidsmooth lollipop, or, Slimkat 4.4)
Thanks guys, any help would be super appreciated,
Regards,
~ Dave

First of all and most important don't use rom manager! it causes more problems than anything else. The best way to install custom roms is to use Cwm,PhilZ or Twrp to install anything!
Flash superSU zip in recovery from here >> http://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip?retrieve_file=1 << SuperSU forum here >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053 << Technically you should not need to flash SuperSU because nearly all custom roms come with root built in so you could flash a custom recovery then wipe and flash your rom (but I can see you have been having problems doing that)
What you should do is
(1) Flash a custom recovery with Odin (Recommend PhilZ)
(2) Reboot to custom recovery
(3) Wipe phone
(4) Install custom rom (which is already rooted) from Ext SD card
(5) Reboot (If you get bootloop factory reset/ wipe cache
Also to note PhilZ recovery (which I think is better as more options and is based on Cwm) as a option to fix root in settings.

hi tallman, much appreciated for the reply
For some reason I couldnt get Philz Custom Recovery to work with odin, kept getting an error :/ . So I ended up trying TWRP, which worked, I booted into it then installed Liquidsmooth + gapps, all installed ok, but all up it was the same process you mentioned, which I greatly appreciate.
So running Liquidsmooth 5 now with TWRP recovery, though will likely give Philz recovery a shot down the track

Good to hear it's working Yes it's worth persevering with PhilZ it's a good recovery although Twrp is not bad either:good:

5.1.1_r26 Resurrection Remix® Lollipop v5.5.9 - Togari [11/20] Final

Sorry everyone. I can't post this on the original forum.
I need to know how I can remove this rom and go back to a older rom I installed and backed up via TRMP.
Unfortunately I am having problems with this rom as I have had it installed for over a month now and really can't be used as a daily.
Have changed the kernel to trmp but it only gives / directory with 0 bytes. Cannot mount any other system etc to restore a working rom.
Have tried installing a rooted rom via Flashtool but keep getting errors.
I am trying to avoid wiping the whole phone and start afresh. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
You can restore your back up via twrp.

I have tried but trwp when in recovery will not recognize any of the other partitions. It can only see / partition. I have also used trwp app. When I reboot into system from trwp it says no system available but will boot into RR rom.
