Need help with kernel =( - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
First of all, let me just say that this is NOT a tread about the best kernel.
I've tried dozens of times to flash Dorimanx-V10.44v006 on spirit ROM only to get a black screen after the dorimax logo on bootup.
Btw, does appolo have a KK kernel?

Hey had a lot of similar probs like this myself..
Which Gapps r u using?? I had probs with slim gapps..
I changed to pa-gapps and everythin is fine now..
Hope changing gapps help..
if not, do an ultra clean and then try.. It shud work..

Well Tbh, I'm having problems installing gapps on my s2.
Its always saying it has low space and cant install when I try to flash the nano gapps since I cant flash the complete pack for the same reason. So I decided to flash an old version of gapps that I had for RR Rom.
(Did a complete clean wipe a few months ago, went back to stock, flashed everything again).
I kinda miss the features of Dorimax, actually I just want a good custom kernel to replace the boring cm one. Been Searching for one since KK came. =(
EDIT: Sry, didnt read all of your reply properly xD Will Try PA Gapps and see. Thanks for your help.
EDIT 2: Tried to find out where to download the PA gapps, its the same ones that I tried to flash earlier http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942

So u r having probs installing Gapps itself??
I had this prob on some early release of slimkat..
Did u anytime try to repartition using PIT files?
On what ROM r yu trying the gapps?
Try this gapps .. This has worked for me on al kk based ROMs..!
Hope it works for u as wel.. [emoji106]

It wouldn't be a problem with gapps. It would be a problem with the compatibility between the kernel and the rom. Yes, Apolo kernel does support KK (just download the 7.1 version).

Turns out the problem was actually another gapps instalation that was not deleted by any reason from the system partition. Used a nuke script, installed everything again and I could flash the complete gapps.

Yes thats it, is apolo costumizable like dorimax? Kinda miss the bln and the other features dori has.

Use gustavo_s' kernel for bln support.. It supports stweaks too..

Yes. Apolo kernel supports bln. But has less features then dorimanx. Go with gustavo kernel if you want.

I have used Apolo kernel with several AOSP roms and it works well. Nothing to complain. Good performance with the Extreme versions.

Going from RR to CM9 GS2

RR has been the only rom Ive used. I flashed a few versions of it. Now that CM9 stable is out and I want to try it out. Is there any special instruction installing CM9 going from RR 3.02
I just wipe/reset and flash zip right?
the rom zip size seems alot smaller than the RR one
Yeah just wipe data, wipe cache and dalvik cache and flash .zip, the file seems smaller because this is 'pure' Google so there is no bloatware and therefore its a smaller file!
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Yeeeah same process. Happy flashing!
just a girl addicted to android
Thanks.
anyone used both roms and can tell me how they compare?
I like some extra features that RR has and currently use JB RR
how is battery on CM9? battery life is kinda a big deal for me

Well rr is the best in features....
Why dont you try rootbox.. that rom wins the league in every aspect for me
Using it since the day it came... cm9 doesnt has many features.... y flash a rom which has a bit less feature.... but thanks a lot to codeworx for bringing cm9 coz of which other roms are possible
If my post helped, don't mind pressing the thanks button

The Rom is smaller because Google Apps are not included in CM9, you have to download and flash them separately.

so you have to flash them not download from the play store? g apps like gmail g+ maps, etc??
where do you find them?
If you are flashing rr then u dont have to do anything besides flashing the rom (duh).
But if u are flashing cm9 then you have to flash gapps to. The link for gapps is provided in the cm9 thread in op....

which rom you tried to install as second rom?
you know that syah kernel is discontinued and does not work with newer roms?
use instead googymax kernel (based on syah kernel), it is discontinued now as well, but at least it also supports the latest roms (except the ported note 2 rom kitkat rom)
or use devil kernel
or use arter97 kernel
for dualboot

ok i will try, thanks

sony z2 rom.

post what rom you using and why , i did tried RR N but the mic problem made roll back to stock any good rom to try ?
CM, RR, Cypher, ExistenZ, Lineage, etc...
I had CyanogenMod Lollipop running for many years (Last build was cm-12.1-20161016-NIGHTLY-sirius, I guess). Recently I had Bluetooth issues and wanted to switch to a newer ROM. But I couldn't find something stable in the M, N and O department. All N and O releases cause random restarts. The Ressurection Remix Marshmellow ROM (ResurrectionRemix-M-v5.7.0-20160620-sirius) had too many annoying bugs. Still looking and trying at the moment...
Kind regards

Try xperia stock rom, you can root your device, with installing Recovery(twrp for exemple) and root it with SuperSU

Bootloop everywhere

A few days ago i posted a Thread Where I shared the Best ROM for Gaming...
There i said RADON Kernel GAMING CONFIG is good to use stuff.....
But Strange Thing Happens NOW!!!!!!
Every ROM now which has the lastest build like After MAY 2018.....
If it is Flashed With RADON KERNEL it BOTLOOPS...
I Tried MANY ROMs
ABC
AEX 5.4
COSMIC OS
MCAOSP
HAVOC
BOOTLEGGERS

I Know That MCAOSP has not been updated after 5th April.....
But All BOOTLOOPED With RADON KERNEL
BUT ALL OF THEM BOOTED-UP WHEN FLASHED WITH AGNI KERNEL
If you say enjoy with Agni then i would say i need them for gaming purpose & Gaming With RADON is DOPE
The Kernel Has Also Not Been Updated Since Long Time
Now I am Thinking What Is The Real Problem....
Can Someone Help me Out....
I also Flashed The Latest Firmware And Tried ...SAME RESULT
ANY EXPERT GOT THE SOLUTION??
DID IT EVEN HAPPENED WITH YOU
Nope, never happend to me
Maybe try to clean flash,?
The kernel is abandoned I heard. Umang got an rn5 because his Kenzo broke. Also you can probably get the same results editing other kernel for the gaming experience.

I tried every kernel i can think of for Nougut and Oreo (Radon, Shadow, Darkness, Agni) And Radons performance was 10 times bettee then every of Thema together
The first thing I advise you is to check if the bootloader is unlocked using the Mi Unlock application (you have to go into fastboot mode), it ends up stuck and you see if you recover.
Otherwise it returns to miui flashando the Rom through Miui Rom Flashing tool (Fastboot), and then after you if you want to install the custom rom again you have to install the recovery twrp.
You cant flash older kernels on newer roms due to this commit, if you want Radon : flash older roms.
lol idk about your problem but im using bootleggers rom + radon kernel and everythings works fine

Bro i have exactly same problem...not getting the solution???
which android version (O/P???), did you flash the right kernel version? (O for O, P for P? and yes, there is a radon kernel working on pie, but not the official version ), what ROM did you use before, what did you wipe before flashing, if you are coming from miui, did you format data, you wrote everything down except the informations we need to find what you should do differently.

Use nitrogen OS, this problem is fixed there. Or RR of you want oreo. Ididn't use bootleggers because for me it didn't provide anything more.

My Phone Die before 0%

Since i use cusrom , my phone die before it goes to 0% . It goes to 35%-50% and my phone die
when i open gallery,WA, and other application , just shutting down accidentally.
its something wrong with the rom ? but i ask other people who use that rom , its totally normal
but , sometimes when i play game without charging, it still on at 15%
I USE:
ROM : AospExtended 8.1
Kernel : Agni Kernel v13
Anyone know how to fix this ?
time to replace the battery
But. When i use miui rom. Its normal

Whats the last miui version u flashed. Official or unofficial bootloader.?
Flashing custom kernel over the top of other messes with ur phone. If u flash radon then dont flash agni over it. U must come back to stock kernel before u flash different kernel. And radon official is not updated anymore. Also agni is not updated. U can flash radon unofficial if u want which is updated.
I never flashed custom kernel. So never had issues with battery and early shutdown.

If u want back to normal then U should try to Flash fastboot global dev rom using pc. Not china dev this time.
U problem is related custom kernel.
Use latest twrp 3.2.3 recovery.
Format data
Wipe data reset
Flash rom
Flash gapps
Reboot
