which rom you tried to install as second rom?
you know that syah kernel is discontinued and does not work with newer roms?
use instead googymax kernel (based on syah kernel), it is discontinued now as well, but at least it also supports the latest roms (except the ported note 2 rom kitkat rom)
or use devil kernel
or use arter97 kernel
for dualboot

[Q] Mac Kernel

Does anyone know if the Mac Kernel Linaro -03 works on the Paranoid Android 2.52 ROM by lens?
try it , find out and share result.
If you are referring about Mac sense then no it won't work with pa jb. Mac Aosp does but your camera will not work. So I suggest the butteredtoast RSL 12 kernel.

I tried the butteredtoast kernel but it cause the camera not to work also I tried using both camera drivers but the aosp ones caused a no boot scenario.
The camera already works without a different kernel flashed. The buttertoast kernel I know for a fact works with the camera because I am using it now. Have you tried doing a full wipe and reflashing the rom?

Yes I did do a full wipe and installed a nandroid backup, but I'll just wait for the next update to the ROM as lens stated that he's including the buttered toast kernel.

SOLVED: used latest syah kernel 5.01 and worked as primary revolt and secondary MIUI. No problems so far, i think dream kernel would work also on this matter.

Good that you resolved it but there is no need to bump/double post your thread. You have an edit button.

[Q] Bootloop with perseus kernel [SOLVED]

Hi guys,
I am newbie, my S3 i9300 is using temasek 10.1 rom and his amazing lastest kernel. About batterylife saving, I am trying to find out the ASV version of my S3 to get right value for stweak app by flashing perseus kernel together with flashing unchecksetonboot.zip as manual but I faced the bootloop, my S3 could not started. I have tried the ways (only flash perseus kernel (36.3) or flash perseus kernel together with flashing unchecksetonboot.zip) but it was not booted. I do not know how to solve this.
I could not post my question in Temasek's thread because i am newbie. Is there someone else like me and any help for me, please!
I hope Temasek can see my question.
Thanks a lot!

TL;DR: before flashing aside from known issues in the second post.
This isn't an AOSP kernel. I won't work with CM and AOSP derivatives.
DOESN'T WORK ON SAMSUNG JELLYBEAN 4.2.1 ROMS.

I have read this but till do not know why, I do know that temasek's rom is an CM derivative. Perseus kernel is not AOSP kernel. So could you guys teach me what ROM (AOKP rom but not CM) I have to flash to be compatible with perseus kernel? i am confused
Sorry for my BAD.

All Samsung (or Sammy) derivatives that means all Rom with XX... in its name, MC3, etc. And 4.1.x only. See thread's titles it's written there.

You open my mind! I am too stupid to think that Sammy ROM derivatives is AOSP, My BAD.
Even I do not really understand about AOSP ROM because of this words " The name is often co-opted for custom ROMs that are very close to the original AOSP, from What's the difference between an AOSP ROM and a stock ROM?"
But as you teach me, I will chose a Sammy ROM derivatives without the AOSP note in ROM.
Iam downloading a [ROM][MC3][JKAY] Purelook HD v5.0 I SGS 4 + Xperia Z ROM. Hope it works.
I will try to improve my self step by step.
Thank you! :highfive:

There are 2 main kind of roms - based on samsung sources and based on aosp sources (cyanogenmod). They're not compatible with each other, that means kernels, mods, themes etc.
Most AOSP Roms have 4.2.2 Android while Sammy have 4.1.2.

Need help with kernel =(

Hi guys
First of all, let me just say that this is NOT a tread about the best kernel.
I've tried dozens of times to flash Dorimanx-V10.44v006 on spirit ROM only to get a black screen after the dorimax logo on bootup.
Btw, does appolo have a KK kernel?
Regards

Hey had a lot of similar probs like this myself..
Which Gapps r u using?? I had probs with slim gapps..
I changed to pa-gapps and everythin is fine now..
Hope changing gapps help..
if not, do an ultra clean and then try.. It shud work..
Well Tbh, I'm having problems installing gapps on my s2.
Its always saying it has low space and cant install when I try to flash the nano gapps since I cant flash the complete pack for the same reason. So I decided to flash an old version of gapps that I had for RR Rom.
(Did a complete clean wipe a few months ago, went back to stock, flashed everything again).
I kinda miss the features of Dorimax, actually I just want a good custom kernel to replace the boring cm one. Been Searching for one since KK came. =(
EDIT: Sry, didnt read all of your reply properly xD Will Try PA Gapps and see. Thanks for your help.
EDIT 2: Tried to find out where to download the PA gapps, its the same ones that I tried to flash earlier http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
So u r having probs installing Gapps itself??
I had this prob on some early release of slimkat..
Did u anytime try to repartition using PIT files?
On what ROM r yu trying the gapps?
Try this gapps .. This has worked for me on al kk based ROMs..!
Hope it works for u as wel.. [emoji106]
It wouldn't be a problem with gapps. It would be a problem with the compatibility between the kernel and the rom. Yes, Apolo kernel does support KK (just download the 7.1 version).

Turns out the problem was actually another gapps instalation that was not deleted by any reason from the system partition. Used a nuke script, installed everything again and I could flash the complete gapps.

Yes thats it, is apolo costumizable like dorimax? Kinda miss the bln and the other features dori has.
Use gustavo_s' kernel for bln support.. It supports stweaks too..
Yes. Apolo kernel supports bln. But has less features then dorimanx. Go with gustavo kernel if you want.
I have used Apolo kernel with several AOSP roms and it works well. Nothing to complain. Good performance with the Extreme versions.

Constant bootloop on flashing Franco Kernel over Oreo 8.1 ROMs

I wanted to flash a custom Kernel for the best battery life and buttery performance over my Nitrogen OS 8.1 ROM. After going through the xda posts and several kernel review videos, Franco Kernel was the best match.
So I tried flashing the latest version 'fk-r16-anykernel2.zip' over my clean ROM but it resulted in a bootloop. So I did a factory reset, flashed AOSP Extended (I thought probably Nitrogen OS and Franco doesn't go hand in hand), and tried Franco Kernel again but without success. I tried all the available versions of the kernel for Oreo ROMs but all resulted in a bootloop ultimately. Please help if anyone has faced the same problem.
I tried wiping the Cache and Dalvik Cache before and after flashing the kernel (although I don't see a point in doing that).
My device information:
Device - Redmi Note 3 SD (Kenzo)
ROM - AOSP Extended Oreo (June 10 official build)
Bootloader unlocked.
TWRP Recovery 3.2.1 installed.
No custom kernel installed.
FK is outdated and will NOT work with roms with the new device tree. This is already posted on that thread and AOEX too.

Ohh.. I didn't know that.. Thanks for your quick reply.. Can you please suggest any alternate Kernel that's as good and supports the new device tree?
Thanks in advance.
Agni kernel latest
The stock kernel is good enough for me, you can always use a kernel auditor to edit it. People use agni kernel.

I tried that too. But there were stutters everywhere. That led me on to Radon. Are you using it with AOSP Extended?
Im using it on bootleggers
