Problem with Titanium Backup Pro: Scheduled Dropbox sync is always skipped - Motorola Droid RAZR

Some time ago I have bought Titanium Backup Pro in order to have automatic data backups and Dropbox sync. The problem is that the Dropbox sync does not work when run from a scheduled job. I have set the "Backup all system data" task to run the Sync to Dropbox task afterwards. The Dropbox sync task itself works fine when run manually, but when run by the scheduled task it shows the notification: "Dropbox sync skipped due to power/connectivity".
I have found one topic created by someone with the same problem, and the only suggestion was to set the Dropbox history coverage in TB to 1 or 2. I already had 1 there, so it doesn't work for me.
Neither switching between WiFi and 3G (connectivity), nor the battery level (power) has any effect on the behaviour.
The thing that concerns me the most is the Titanium Track attitude. I have sent them two support requests on this issue, first two months ago, the second one month ago, and I have not received any feedback from them (besides the automatic confirmation e-mail). In the second report I asked them to at least tell me the reason why they don't answer me, if they are going not to answer again, so that I would know what's going on. A week ago, when I was about to post this, I have tried another turn with the TT Support, this time selecting "Sales & Marketing" department, because I once had wrote them about a different issue, and they answered almost immediately. I thought that they have an issue with the "General Support" form, and maybe they don't receive e-mails directed to that department. But I got no answer from the sales department too.
Does anyone know what is going on?

Solved!
The issue is solved. The Titanium Track support finally contacted me and helped to solve the issue.
If anyone has got similar problem, the cause in my case was that the Settings -> Power Modes were set to Charger + USB. I needed to switch it to Charger + USB + Battery. You may also want to check the Connectivity modes menu just above it.

I have the exact same problem but this didn't solve it. settings are already Charger + USB + Battery but still upload to dropbox is skipped due to power/conn.

Is your device associated with a WiFi access point when you try to sync with Dropbox?

Hi - Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I've got the same problem, I'm trying to sync to Google Drive. I'm on a HTC M9 and I've just taken the Nougat update (fresh build from RUU) and now TiBi won't sync after a scheduled backup job. Manual sync works fine. This is giving me the s**ts. I've emailed Titanium Track, twice! The suggested fixes are't applicable, I'm already on the correct power mode (Any (AC Charger + Battery + USB)).
Cheers

Hi.
The same for me. Impossible to sync with Dropbox and no answer from the support after 2 mails.
I don't understand what they are doing with us ! (

Hi Thmic. Have you checked the Connectivity settings and Power Modes in the TiB settings? That was the reason of not syncing for me.

Yes. Everything is Ok. My problem is that in the schedule screen, near the Dropbox details, I can read than this schedule is present in 0 schedule even if I've set several backup which would use it.

And this backup must sync with Dropbox...
Envoyé de mon MI 5 en utilisant Tapatalk

It looks the same for me too. Seems like a bug in TiB.
But the synchro via dropbox gets executed as it should be. What message do you get when the scheduled dropbox synchro should be run?
I don't use the builtin synchro any more, as it just sends everything that is backed up, including apps themselves which can be very large and waste my Dropbox space and 3G data. I installed FolderSync app, which can sync custom folders and use file name masks.

I get no message because TB thinks that no schedule backup has to sync with Dropbox. Look at my 2 images : Utilisé par 0 planification actives.
Envoyé de mon MI 5 en utilisant Tapatalk

Alright, I don't know how to help you. I thought it would sync despite the message, but I checked and in fact it doesn't.

I think I figured out the issue. The drop down box for the action after backup doesn't point to the right sync. I setup all three of my cloud services, and the "used by" doesn't match the service I choose. Setting Google Drive sets the sync to Box active. Setting Box sets Dropbox to active. Setting Dropbox doesn't set any schedule to active. They just need to fix the drop down pointer. Unfortunately none of the settings will activate Google Drive.

Same prob here. But with a Nexus 10.

Identical issue with Nexus 6 and PureNexus 7.1.1 - like others, I have opened a ticket with support but have never received a response. Not good!

Seems like this came with one of the latest updates. Just came here via Google to see if anyone has the same problem. No chance to fix it by ourselves sadly I think

It's a problem that they have to fix in their code. It honestly should only take about half an hour and that includes building and publishing. If you use Box or Dropbox, just use the mapping that I posted earlier.

Yep code is offset by 1. If you set it to "reboot the device" it gets the google sync to be used by a profile.
A workaround for now... but when they fix it your device will start to reboot until you change it!

Hey guys,
Pls help!!!
I am using Xperia P and since an Update few days ago whatsapp has been draining my battery heavily!!!

Edit:

It will not interfere with your messages as this only sycs your contacts.
Do check once in a while if it stays of as with me it sometimes turns on automatically

I've had this since updating Whatsapp+ to v3.9D. Going back to 3.85D for now...
The issue is still there with the latest whatsapp update (2.10.768).
Also the workaround doesnt work for me anymore (disabeling the contact sync) even with the sync turned off, whatsapp went syncing overnight with my screen off(?!) It didn't turned sync on, but it went in "full sync" wakelock anyway...
I send an email to the whatsapp developers. I think (and hope) more people did this already, if this issue won't be resolved i will remove whatsapp messenger. This issue is just damn irritating and very bad for battery life (short and long term).

I'm experiencing this as well. I disabled contacts sync but the problem is that it turns itself back on.
Also have to say that i'm on a LG Nexus 4. Maybe i'm wrong, but it looks like LG & Samsung (Nexus models) phones on Android 4.2.2 are the only ones with this issue. In the Whatsapp messenger comments at google play this problem/bug is not mentioned either.
Don't know if you already found this out, but trowing it into the open anyways. Using 4.2.2 for only two weeks now, coming of 2.3.5.
Today i found out that there is another (hidden) "sync" option to be found via the google agenda/calender. Go to settings -> choose your google/gmail account -> Accounts and synchronisation. there is another option listed above the accounts i could't find earlier "Appdata/information aut.." (i think that stands for "Automatically synchronise app data").
Turning this off will mean none of your accounts will sync automatically anymore. I will check if this (temporarly) works overnight and report on that.
I'm thinking charging the device enables the bug. I'm thinking this because i looked at my phone over the rest of the day (wakelock detector) and the issue didn't occur.

Not true. I'm experiencing this issue on my S3 with a TouchWiz 4.1.2 ROM.
I have the same problem now on my HTC One running Android 4.2.2 and the current whatsapp+ version (Base Whatsapp 2.10.750)
Good news from my side.
With the app sync unticked via the google calendar the problem did not occur overnight after charging.
This temp fix looks like it's working for now.

where did you find whatsapp in google calandar? can you explain that a little? thanks
Just follow the steps i explained.
You will see a list of all your accounts. Whatsapp should be in that list. On the top of that list untick the app sync.
Note that my way works on a LG Nexus 4, you use a HTC. This has a layer over android that may have a different way to change settings.
Just look for your "auto sync" settings and put that off in general. This workaround seems to work for me.
EDIT: Unhappy to report that the problem came back right after charging my phone.

A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT THE Samsung Galaxy S3

1) Will Juice Defender work on this?
2) Probably the most important, when I go to the Google Play market, and I sign on, I can't view the applications I had previously bought for my OLD smartphone. I mean, sure I can go off memory but I can't see any of my "Purchased" apps.
3) How do I make the battery bar display % instead?
Thanks
Do you have the phone?

Well it's all of them! I just searched Shazam and Soundhound....so once they're searched it says "Purchased", but I can't see that BEFORE I search.
It's not like I remember every I've bought!

I had the same problem coming from a full wipe in the play store.
Sometimes it just takes a little while to refresh which apps you have bought in the store, if it keeps happening send google play an email.
There is a brief delay. They are there. Your phone is no different.
Thanks it worked!

You can't transfer apps across USB from your PC. Applications have to be sent from the Play Store to your phone directly, hence you need to use a connection - do you not have WiFi?

You CAN download apps on PC (from different sources) and copy it to your phone via USB. These apps are .apk files which CAN be installed by simply clicking on them.
Please understand that english is not native for everyone, and people may not be well versed with it as you are.

Even the most awesome phone can't get rid of the radio, Wifi and bluetooth draining the battery, that's simply a physical fact.
However it has quite a large battery so you might not need to set it too restrictive.
I'd recommend going with the 'Juicedefender Beta' (requires the paid 'Juicedefender Ultimate' for all features) and installing AOSP helper. (Requires root)
Do a NANDROID backup as advised but everything should go pretty well.
I've found the following Setup to be excellt while not hindering the least bit with my interactions:
- Set Juidedefender NOT to disable data and NOT to disable sync.
- It should auto-manage Wifi (requires a few days of training)
- It should drop to 2G after 5 minutes of inactivity
- It should restore 3G on screen-on
As a plus you can configure Juicedefender to handle brightness since through it's overlay it can (similarly to Screen Filter) go well below minimum AMOLED brightness which is far too bright at nighttime.
As for SetCPU, I'm running Siyah with only minor modifications to the frequencies. My phone neither likes overclocking nor undervolting but it's awesome as-is

Hi @Joelphillipage
Could I confirm this is working on Android wear 1.5??
I installed this on my Sony smartwatch 3 (with Note 3 phone) and applied promo code (thank you) but app is not appearing on my watch.
Even confirmed using Wear App Manager (says app is not found on wearable device)
Update:
App eventually showed up on the watch.
This app really works work, the reason I was interested in this app was for the ftp function.
When I get home will test this side of the app.
Music player is working fine though
The App is now free for a limited time. Be sure to check it out!

I'm sorry you are having trouble. This seemed to be working fine initially, but has been having problems recently. Unfortunately, documentation for having a standalone app for 1.x is still rather vague. I pushed a new update. Could you make sure you get version 0.3.4 installed on your mobile device and try re-syncing your apps? From what I understand, this does take some time. If the issue persists, I would be happy to send you the Wear APK to be installed manually.
Thanks for the feedback!
-Joel

Yes. It should download on to your SW3 after you install it on your phone and appear as an app on your watch. This appears to be a problem mainly with this device, though transfering apps has always been slow on Android Wear 1.
Some troubleshooting steps:
-Uninstall and Re-Install NavMusic. (Google Play Music didn't transfer until I had done this)
-Try Re-Syncing the apps in the Android Wear App.
I'm very sorry for the problems users of this watch model are having. I will contact the manufacturer.
In the meantime, I will PM you the current APK and you could sideload it using this method:

I understand this is a poor solution. You could also try a factory reset, but understand that this would be a pain. Thanks!

I contacted Sony for support but they said they would be unable to help me as I did not have an Xperia phone with a SmartWatch 3 and were not very helpful. Seems like a pain. Anyway, the app should be supported, and I would be happy to send the APK to any affected users. You may try getting in touch with there tech support and see if they have any other suggestions. Thanks!

Thanks! I tell you. Reinstalling the app from Play store did the same thing, fail. Resyncing apps failed too. I received your pm with the apk. I installed directly from the phone with a file browser and apeared in the watch! [emoji122] . Your app looks very good. I proved ftp transfer and ok. Wifi must be the only way to connect, bluetooth off, as the other ftp app I used to try. Later I will prove the music player in a running session, I will tell you, but I like it too much by now [emoji106] . Thanks for your effort and excuse my english, I try my best [emoji1] .
Edited: I forgot to tell you that help option in settings does nothing for me, watch or phone.

Thanks for the feedback Nibblex. Glad you could get it working! The help button only works on Wear 2.0. It opens up this site: http://turndapage.com/navmusic/#faq. I may just show that as a message on previous versions.
Be sure to leave a review if you were satisfied.
I downloaded the app and have waited several hours now in which I resynced my apps to the watch multiple times but I still don't have the app on my watch.
Using a Nexus 5 with pure nexus 7.1.1 ROM and a Sony Smartwatch 3.

I'm sorry your having trouble installing it, Daniel. I will PM you the wear APK so you can install it manually like Nibblex.
I will do the same for any Sony Smartwatch 3 users until the issue is resolved. I have tried reaching out to Sony about the issue, but they are not helpful.
Thanks for the patience!
I googled a little to see if there is something I can do. I found this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/25355672/android-wear-not-sync-my-app-to-watch-why
Does your app fulfill those points?

Thanks for the link. I did include the same permissions for the mobile app, but I believe the other steps in that thread are for bundling the wear app inside the mobile app. I posted a similar thread in which it was confirmed that you are no longer supposed to use that method.
https://stackoverflow.com/questions...parate-wear-apks-for-android-wear-1-x-and-2-0
You are supposed to upload two separate apks with the same package name. I have gotten confirmations from other Wear 1 users that the app did eventually install, but there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason why.
Thanks for checking it out - I just thought it might be worth a shot.
Thank you for the PM. I downloaded the APK but was unwilling to pay 2€ for the app to sideload the apk to the watch so I left it overnight and the app did in fact eventually install - it was there when I woke up.
After copying my first file and trying to listen to a podcast I have some feature requests:
1) A control to skip just a couple of seconds or speed up playback is necessary. WearMedia does this quite nicely for example.
Otherwise it is a pain to find the position you want to start at in a 1h long podcast.
2) The volume controls in the playback view should have some feedback (as in the number of bars next to the loudspeaker could change for example) - otherwise it is hard to know at which level you are at.
3) Why use black as default background when there is no cover when the app itself has a brown color?
4) The clock is cut-off in the watchface on my Sony Smartwatch 3 (see attached picture)
Hope this helps to make the app even better.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad it finally worked. I can definitely do something about the ambient mode being off the screen and the volume feedback. As for the background, I did make it darker in the last big update as there were complaints of not being able to read the text, but it is brown as you can see in the screenshot below. I am also in the process of creating a similar podcasts app as I know this is something a lot of people want, but wanted to keep the controls simple for this one. I'll let you know when I've got a beta for that so you can try it out.
I'll get started on those fixes for the next update.

I don't mean the overall color - just when there is no album cover art the default background is black.
Edit: Nevermind. I tried to take a photo to show you what I mean and after having the app crash on me while navigating through the menus I restarted the app and now the color is brown everywhere. I have no idea why the background was black in the beginning.

Finally managed to get this working on my Sony Smart watch 3.
Podcast were quick to download and play.
Really liked it.
For those who wish to use this app, can I suggest searching for a few popular feeds to test, then add your own personal casts.
I always like to search for wwe and football as these always yield high search results.
Another great app from Joel, well done.

I bought the app today, how do you set some connections as metered. I have an LTE Huawei watch 2 and will only like to download podcasts over wifi. How do I do that? Thanks

Hi,
I don't believe Android Wear allows you to set whether a connection is metered or not as you can on a phone, but as far as I've seen any connection over cellular data is marked as metered and any connection over WiFi is not so you should be good as long as you keep the setting on that asks before you download. If you want to be sure, try disconnecting your WiFi and trying to download an episode over your data. It should let you know that you are about to download over data and ask for your confirmation.

Thanks, when I try to download over wifi I still get the prompt. Additionally, I had selected to download episodes when charging and the watch was charging overnight connected to my phone which was in turn connected to wifi and nothing downloaded. Please advise what to do?

If it is prompting you to download over WiFi, it won't automatically download. Is your watch connected to WiFi over the phone's Bluetooth or directly. You could try switching off Bluetooth on your watch and see if it still prompts you.
Thanks a lot for your kind reply, i have unchecked the metered connection option and it is still not downloading with wifi or bluetooth. Please advise what to do ? Thanks

I apologize for these repeated questions but I have the latest version and I have toggled the auto-download setting but I am still unable to download any podcast.
What does the check mark next to the name and graphic of the podcast do?

No problem. Sorry it's causing you trouble and thanks for your patience. Let me confirm:
-Check metered downloads is off (you could try toggling this again in case this was caused by the same bug I was trying to fix)
-Auto Download new episodes is on
-Watch is connected to network
-The watch is removed and then placed on the charger(The event won't trigger until it starts charging)
-There are unplayed episodes to download (This is what the checkmark means. The episode has to be unchecked for it to automatically download. New episodes will automatically be unchecked. You can mark all as unplayed by clicking on the podcast title in the episode view and selecting "Mark all unplayed").
Look forward to your response.

Thanks for the detailed steps, I tried all this and despite being connected to my phone I have not been able to download any podcasts.
P.S. I have also tried by disconnecting from my phone by turning off bluetooth and connecting directly to a wifi network but that has also not worked.

Are you not even able to download podcasts manually? If not, try force closing the app and clearing the cache (even if it isn't running) or rebooting. It's possible something has gotten corrupted in your download background service. This should clear it out.
Could you try checking your downloads in the app? (Open the navigation drawer from the top and select the down arrow) Do any items show up? There is a bug I've found that doesn't mark downloads as failed if they got interrupted. If they show up in the downloads section, it won't download automatically. If you see them here, click the trash button at the top to clear them all. I will try to fix this soon.
[Edit] I think I was able to fix the bug with failed downloads being unable to restart. Please update to 0.8.8 and see if you are able to manually start a download.

Okay. I think I've found the issue. Sorry for the delay. Android Oreo won't let apps start background services (such as syncing podcasts) from events like charging. The latest update will sync when you open the app. You can also force a sync by opening the app and placing the watch on a charger. Let me know if this latest update fixes the problem. Thanks for the feedback. :good:

Stratos 3 firmware 4.2.8.0 thread

Please report what has been fixed and what not.
Fixed:
system reset during workout
Not fixed:
gps flats corners
WhatsApp notification doesn't work
Indoor poolswimming distance isn't syncing anymore, only the activity time.
This is in Strava, in Zepp everything is ok.
I did a small hike, 8km/1000m.
The altitude is correct at first, but it shifts as it goes. at the end, a difference of 100m over 1000m changes the height difference measurements.
Ex: (map heigh / stratos heigh)
start 1350m/1350m
Top 2350/2250
end 1350/1450
Does someone also get this behaviour ? Is it related to this firmware ?
I wonder why my Startos shows no updates available (both from watch and in Zepp app)
I am on 4.2.7 Anyone else that didn't get the update?

It is not linked to this fw I always faced this previously. I think it's linked to altimeter barometric.
This 4.2.8.0 is the most stable since the 4.2.5.0 no more bug during workout. GPS fixes really fast and is reliable.
I do not face flat turns. (Turns are flat in zepp but in Strava all is ok as usual) I'm with Galileo
For notification I use amazmod so I have no feedback about this point.
I will stay with it and finally stop using the old 4.2.5.0

I got the update when checking from watch settings manually.
Thanks, manually checking on the watch when connected to WiFi worked

Got the same issue buddy. Notifications only work properly in ultra mode.
And I have a Galaxy note 10+ running one ui 2.5... so not a very exotic phone. So I wonder, if not many others have the same problem, too.
One question: Do you use adguard DNS to block ads? Because I use it and I thought it might be related to the issue.
I have iPhone and I don’t use any block ads app
On 4.2.6 notifications worked great. On 4.2.7 and 4.2.8 the watch is laggy when getting notifications. I think it is the bugfix of application icons that they did on 4.2.7. This is very annoying.
Unfortunately I still have the error problem when recording activities. In 9 of 10 tries the recording stops after a while, random numbers are shown on the screen and there is no data to save. The problem first appeared with 4.2.6.0 and is still present in 4.2.8.0. For me 4.2.5.0 is the last working firmware. Really annoying ...

Hi yes I'm still on 4.2.8.0 I made 4 or 5 workout without any pb (biking and running)from 1 to 2:30 hours up to 36kms.
I don't remember if I reset the watch.
What I did: 4.2.5 -> 4.2.6->4.2.7->4.2.8 (update done from the watch)
If it happens to me I'll tell you.
I'm in Galileo mode.
The only strange thing: I was able to have stress widjet with amazmod but after restarting the watch I do not see it anymore.

The "hack" I found to get the stress mode back, from the zepp app, add a random widget if you don't have one. Then disable all widgets and it will show you the stress one. I've enabled only that one, since I'm always opening the other widgets from the app launcher.

So I rolled back to 4.2.5.0 with a full factory reset. After that I updated to 4.2.8.0 via the watch OTA (4.2.5.0 -> 4.2.6.0 -> 4.2.7.0 -> 4.2.8.0). I was able to complete 2 workouts - each over 2 hours - successfully. But today morning when I started my run, the watch stopped after ~40 seconds with the known problem
When I tried to start a new workout, I got no GPS fix. Only after I restarted the watch, I could start a new workout with very fast GPS fix and could complete the workout.
I gave Amazfit feedback with screenshot via the app. But loosing activity data is such a great mess for me, that I will stay at 4.2.5.0 for the moment. Next weekend I will start a 100km walk about 20 hours I have to depend on the watch (Routing).
