Custom ROM development for SM-N7502 - Galaxy Note 3 Neo General

Hi folks,
I am the happy owner of a new Galaxy Note 3 Neo Duos, a.k.a SM-N7502.
I am unhappy to check that no custom rom development is happening and I am very interested to know why.
I really love Cyanogenmod and would really like to have it ported to this model.
What do you think about porting CM11 to our notes?
I want to check how hard you guys want custom ROM for this device and, maybe, I would like to work on something (I am a developer).
Want to hear from you !

I like the CM too.. used to love the ROM on my Motorola Razr Maxx.. would be glad if you could make it for Neo..

HI People. I have using the phone since the past 5 months. There is no Kit Kat update, no custom ROM development and no major updates for 4.3
I downloaded the following ROM from Sammobile, which seems a bit more stable, but no major change.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/34727/N7502XXUANH2_N7502OLBANH1_THL.zip/
Seems like no one including Samsung is interested to anything about this phone. Even Note 2 has been updated to 4.4 but not this phone,
Its really frustrating. I have used Google phones and samsung phones prior to this and there was so much development going on those phones but this is a dead end.
Although I am quite satisfied with the phone but I might sell it as I like customizing my phones and I cant do squat with this phone.

Hey, I want to update you, guys.
Last weeks I am studying really hard and couldn't find time to work on anything related to our phone. I share the same frustration as most of you do and will really work on it. Sorry guys!

updatesss ??
Any Custom ROM yet 5.0 Lollipop for Note 3 Neo??

Great!
We are eager for your porting our N 7502 or make custom ROM.
Please do not forget us and as soon as you do something, share it with us.
Thank you!

We really need CM Rom for our N3N

Plzzz any custom rom to n7502 :crying::crying::crying:

shame on Samsung
Some day Samsung was believed to support its phones well. But after times and producing hundreds of models, nowadays just flagships are supported. This is a shame for samsung that Galaxy Note 3 Neo Dous has not received even 1 Mb update. Samsung just produces and sells its phones without paying attention to customers. Shame on you Samsung!

n7502 the forgotten phone
been checkin for a couple of weeks now. and still no updates? wow. I think they just forgot they made our phones. anyways. what kind of tweaks have you guys made on your phones since theres no firmware updates for us.

Root → Xposed Framework → Wanam Xposed

Android 5
I'm not sure please help me.
The users of Galaxy Note 3 Neo Duos can now update their handsets to Android 5.0 Lollipop using custom ROM. The new Android 5.0 Lollipop comes with many new features
levelof.blogspot.com/2014/10/upgradeupdate-galaxy-note-3-neo-duos-to.html
Tutorial :
1. Download Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM from link below :
The ROM File size is 128 MB, so I split the file into 3 parts :
ROM Part 1 : goo.gl/7pyL97
ROM Part 2 : goo.gl/ffHU2x
ROM Part 3 : goo.gl/l1zKh5
To combine 3 parts files above into 1 file just use WINRAR, then extract the files into ZIP format.
If any problem with the ROM, maybe because the ROM have corrupted during the download process, you can try to re-download the ROM.
2. Install the ROM Manager on your Galaxy Note 3 Neo Duos. Get it from Google Play Store, then install the clockwork mod recovery. You also can use ROM Installer application from JRummy Apps Inc.(Get it from Google Play Store).
3. Connect your Galaxy Note 3 Neo Duos to your PC employing the USB information cable. Copy the ROM.zip file you downloaded to the SD memory card.
4. Restart your device in the recovery mode using ROM Manager. As soon as in Recovery Mode, go to ROM Manager and select backup/restore to back-up your information.
5. From the Recovery Menu do a total data erase (including Delvik Cache). When completed, go back to Recovery Principal Menu and choose Flash ROM from SD Card. Navigate the location you copied the ROM.zip file and follow the directions for installing Android 5.0 Lollipop on your Galaxy Note 3 Neo Duos. As soon as the installation is over, just reboot your Galaxy Note 3 Neo Duos device, and here you go, youve just upgraded it to the new Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Nice but is there any other link to the rom?

Can anyone plz upload a video

hi m8,
welcome to the unlimited world of android, in which you'll have full control on ur device
have a look on my thread and tell me if u want to root ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195250
Root and discover the universe. it will extend your options to unlimited! u can go anywhere and do everything. "we" are great comunity here and if u will find some problems just ask and your question will be answered.
root will bring u new options - just to make it simple to understand - u can
1. remove apps that u dont like or dont use - improve battery life and speed + u can add anything available!
2. costumize icon + status bar + dialer and much more - make your device on "your style"
3. flash any working avaible ROM with diferent features - what u like u will get
check out for example
1. cognition - simple fast and easy to use
2. MIUI almost unlimited options for changing themes and much more
3. caynogen - stock android - clean and clear - fast and stable
and like this you will have lots of options - i took out few that i like most but they are many more out there.
rooting is the option novadays - dont worry everyone was rooting first time! dont be afraid - believe me.
here +1 for rooting a bigone
The rooting process is too easy for this phone. I actually see no reason NOT to root.
Just being able to use Market Enabler and Titanium Backup seems more than enough reason to root.
There's a case to be made for whether flashing custom ROMs is worth it because the stock ROM is not bad at all. But I would worry about that AFTER rooting.
In case I ever needed to get in touch with samsung warranty issues would there be anyway for them not to find out about it?
I had xperia x1 about 2 years ago I believie , keyboard was mulfunctioning for the first time when I reverted the SPL they replaced my phone second time same thing happened they found out and didnt fix the phone.

there is USB jig for resseting the flashing counter and u can always flash stock ROM and they wont know. unless u will brick your phone and u wont be able to flash anything. anyway it wont happend if u will follow the guides here and if u will ask before doing anything.
just pick the right ROM and follow the instructions or ask here in Q/A if u are not sure what to do..

I got a few questions, Please have a look :)

Thanks for your replies guys,
Now i wanna know some other things.
1, I'm from India and There is no Gingerbread 2.3 Version upgrade released here till now..Is it ok if i install the 2.3 update that belongs to other countries?
2, which is the best custom rom available for Galaxy Ace till now ?
1.through odin or kies (kies for official, odin for custom and unofficial) there is always a risk when flashing roms although i nvr bricked mine b4
2.custom roms are thru odin
3.ur choice
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA App
3. Better to use Custom ROMs, no bloatware apps ans highly customizable
Thanks!

1. Yup, no problem.
2. All a matter of personal preference, just try them out and decide for yourself.
Cheers
Just some words from a pseudo-noob:
I've flashed two roms in my new Galaxy Ace and about 10 roms in my old HTC Touch. I've never bricked my phone and nothing never went wrong or different from the tutorials.
Maybe it's luck, but I have another guess, and I'm posting some tips here:
* I believe most of the time bricking happens is when you interrupt the flashing process;
* So, try to do the flashing process with:
- Phone with full (or almost full) battery;
- Notebook with good battery or Desktop with a good nobreak;
- An stable operating system. Be carefull with softwares that "steals" CPU in the middle of other processes or that asks to reboot your Desktop. The last thing you want is to reboot your PC while flashing a rom.
And the most important, in my opinion:
* Don't be lazy! Read a lot from the forums. Post your doubts and clear them. Be sure you're using the right software and version, the right files etc.
Sometimes we want to test a Rom or a software very quickly but the time we spent to gain some knowledge about it is worth it, it can free us from bigger problems in the future or even from a bricked device.

Sorry about my English.

Well, you can use most over the ROM available over the web, I guess you are getting yourself too confused, over the web you need to find the ROM for N900, I am sure if you just try searching over the Google you can find a number of then available. I would say you can try out Custom ROM like CyanogenMod, SlimBean... etc ! There are actually a number of version of Custom Android ROMs you just need to find the one which supports you Note 3. Try going out on experimenting with the CyanogenMod at first.

There will be no 4.4 official stock for galaxy s3, never, ever.
If you need 4.4.4 like CM go to cyanogenmod site and follow the steps (easy peasy installation).
It's true, that iam a newbie in Android's world.
I own samsung s3 since 2 months & it's my first android experience.
That's why i need a little explanation
why official stock rom for version 4.4.4. isn't available for our phones.
When Win XP has arrived , it was for all PCs, isn't it ?

That is samsungs decision, after some time they stop the development for the phone, and it's been 2 years now with s3, from ics to jelly bean, and the time has come and development is stopped.
But, you have samsung kitkat ports here on xda under android development, but, since they are unofficial there might be some bugs if you don't pair them with a good kernel.
Since you are new, i suggest you to take a break and read, read all the FAQ, read every info, read about EFS backup (very important) and then, when you have all the information you need, go with rom flashing etc.
And listen to me, if you won't read and inform yourself you will mess something up and come back here to ask for help, and first response you will get is read before doing anything.
Happy readin, flashing, cheers
In this case here is my next question
On the horizon appears the next version - Android 5.0
If i understand correctly, that means once again Android x.x will not be made available for our phones and we will need to get again some custom roms, aren't we ?

[Q] What to do after rooting the Galaxy Grand Quattro?

Hi, this is my first post in the Galaxy Grand Quattro forums. I earlier used to be a Bada user and developer. Bada was Samsung's first OS, before it came up with Tizen. I have made many roms for the Samsung Wave 525 too! Due to the less number of Bada users, I have migrated to android, and today I ended up rooting my Galaxy Grand Quattro. Can anyone tell me what can I do after rooting my phone? I mean how can I boost the performance of my phone? Do I need to install any app? Anything of that sort?
I guess you already have recovery. Flash custom roms and scripts ang use what suits you.
