[Q] What to do after rooting the Galaxy Grand Quattro? - Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro

Hi, this is my first post in the Galaxy Grand Quattro forums. I earlier used to be a Bada user and developer. Bada was Samsung's first OS, before it came up with Tizen. I have made many roms for the Samsung Wave 525 too! Due to the less number of Bada users, I have migrated to android, and today I ended up rooting my Galaxy Grand Quattro. Can anyone tell me what can I do after rooting my phone? I mean how can I boost the performance of my phone? Do I need to install any app? Anything of that sort?

I guess you already have recovery. Flash custom roms and scripts ang use what suits you.

galaxy s2 android 4.0

Hello Galaxy s2 owners,
I have 2 questions I need help with:
I sold my iphone 4 to get the Galaxy S2 , it comes with gingerbread. When icecream sandwich comes out (Android 4.0), is it easy for me to upgrade to the new android version.......... like in the iphone you can just sync to I tunes and do it,
I want to know is it simple for a non techie person to upgrade the firmware to ice cream sandwich when it comes out ?
Second question: They released an extended battery for the galaxy s2 anyone has any experiences with it and can tell how long it lasts ?
Thanks

You will upgrade either through samsungs version of iTunes which Is kies, or through a leak, in a program called Odin (but you will download the rom independent in this process). We will most likely get 4.0 or 3.5 or what ever its gonna be called in a cyanogen mod rom first, and that would be flashed by a functioning clockworkmod (CWM), and for the second question, learn to charge every night at bedtime and your phone will last you all day mate

Both are a simple process, kies is simpler because its all automated, but the downside is you will have to wait until Samsung officially releases it. I'm running 2.3.4 thanks to Odin. Odin is a little more technical but with a little revision and research you can master it in 10mins, there is a great tutorial in intratechs thread in the Dec section that tells you how to flash his packaged stock roms for Odin check it out)) Odin is my preferred way because roms are leaked usually a few days/weeks before they are released on kies

Hello,
Thanks for the quick response, with odin my galaxy s2 must be rooted right ?
My phone numbest be rooted before i can use odin to instal the new os on it right ?
I think rooting it would be a techie skill than a newbie skill.

No,
Rooting is something that's done when the rom is installed, to install the rom you will go into a mode called download mode. You get into this mode by holding(down volume, power and home buttons until you get to a screen which asks you if you want to install custom Roms on the device. You reply yes by up volume and you should see a big green android, this is the mode you flash through Odin in. There is a great tutorial on intratechs thread dude in the dev section, he explains how to use it, once you start flashing its like heroin, lol

To root is just as easy too, its just a matter of flashing a kernel the same way and then flashing the stock kernel back. You have the biggest support network here so we are here to help you every step of the way. You will get the odd mushroom here that will say, use the search button, and stuff like that, but ignore them They forget that they was new once too

odin dosnt require root
its a pc program
ull just have to show odin where ur update is (4 files )
then click 3 check boxes
shut down ur phone and go to download mode
*u do that by clicking 3 buttons a lot like jail breaking an iphone
after that press volume up on ur phone to start download mode
and odin on ur pc will show a yellow box
after that click start on ur pc and wait
these are normally for stock roms from samsung not custom roms
i normally stay away from custom roms too scared

You can't brick through Odin, unless you disconnect during flashing the radio. You have actually more chance of bricking your phone during a kies update as its buggy and crashes out quite a lot;(

Cyanogen mod is android in its purest form built purely from open source. Its then tweaked to add special menus and options to give it an extra edge. Also it gives the latest OS to the masses earlier. The desire HD has only just got gingerbread, cm has given gingerbread to the desire HD for about 6 months)) this is its beauty

Hello,
Is cynogen mod available for the galaxy s2 yet ? So in essence CM is better than stocked android on the galaxy s2. If i am understand correctly I can use odin to root, update and get a better and newer version of android before it is officially out. This is awesome. Whats the downside, do i need drivers, does it drains the battery etc, will i still have touchwiz ?
Don't listen all this tech oriented guys. If before you use your iPhone as-is, you don't need any kind of Odins, firmwares et cetera. Samsung Kies found any official updates, and with two mouse clicks you can install this on your phone. Thats all.
Samsung Galaxy II have very impressive tech parameters, but really disappointing with software. It is reason why people looking for another ROMs flashing this trough Odin and so on, but still no one from this ROMs don't resolve all problems and bugs..
And keep in mind - in case of failure - you can brick your phone and/or loose guaranties..
And I agree with qwerty warrior..

Just look at custom ROMs features. Lag fix, lag fix, lag fix..
For example - I have been using HTC Desire Z & HTC HD - and HTC original soft is much more better then Samsung. Not ideal, of course, but much better! But Samsung have better hardware and screens..
I do not want to discourage people from learning! No! I only ask to do it gradually and safely! Each with a time can begin to flash the phone and use custom ROMs, but not the very next day after switching from iPhone to Android.

[Q] root S3 with S4 stockrom

Hi,
Is it possible to root S3 with S4 stock rom.
Rgrds
Kanak
Well you can't really put a s4 rom on a s3 dye to the fact that they are two different devices and trying to do this will most likely end up with you owning a bricked phone. Therefore you wouldn't be able to root as this isn't possible unless you had a ported rom.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Rooting vs. ROMs
It also may help to look at it like this: as I understand it, rooting your phone grants you access to low level software functions, such as reading and writing system directories and files. This is useful if you want to overwrite certain files which may alter the functionality of your phone or to perform complete backups and restores. Your phone would need to be rooted in order to install another ROM, as you need to overwrite boot files and other system files.
A ROM, on the other hand, contains the complete system, and other apps the developer has chosen to include. ROMs usually are installed pre-rooted, so that you retain that control.
A stock S4 ROM wouldn't work on an S3, though, because they are completely different hardware, and the kernel, etc. is built with the drivers for the S4. I wouldn't run on your S3 at all.
Smart money says, though, that if they haven't already, developers soon begin pulling out the choicest bits of the new software and making it available for the older phones.
Have a look at the forum for your phone, and keep an eye on the developer sections, and you'll see things popping up.
Thanks a lot guys for the help. How to get the features of S4 on S3 like air gesture, etc. Also which is the best 4.2.2 rom apart from the leaked rom for S3.

Air gestures might be possible to be used on a S3 but there is a low chance as if it is hardware specific it wouldn't work and would be hard to make it work on a S3. Also try CM10.1 it is not fully stable yet but it is an alternative to the stock 4.2 rom.

Custom ROM development for SM-N7502

Hi folks,
I am the happy owner of a new Galaxy Note 3 Neo Duos, a.k.a SM-N7502.
I am unhappy to check that no custom rom development is happening and I am very interested to know why.
I really love Cyanogenmod and would really like to have it ported to this model.
What do you think about porting CM11 to our notes?
I want to check how hard you guys want custom ROM for this device and, maybe, I would like to work on something (I am a developer).
Want to hear from you !
I like the CM too.. used to love the ROM on my Motorola Razr Maxx.. would be glad if you could make it for Neo..

HI People. I have using the phone since the past 5 months. There is no Kit Kat update, no custom ROM development and no major updates for 4.3
I downloaded the following ROM from Sammobile, which seems a bit more stable, but no major change.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/34727/N7502XXUANH2_N7502OLBANH1_THL.zip/
Seems like no one including Samsung is interested to anything about this phone. Even Note 2 has been updated to 4.4 but not this phone,
Its really frustrating. I have used Google phones and samsung phones prior to this and there was so much development going on those phones but this is a dead end.
Although I am quite satisfied with the phone but I might sell it as I like customizing my phones and I cant do squat with this phone.
Hey, I want to update you, guys.
Last weeks I am studying really hard and couldn't find time to work on anything related to our phone. I share the same frustration as most of you do and will really work on it. Sorry guys!
updatesss ??

shame on Samsung
Some day Samsung was believed to support its phones well. But after times and producing hundreds of models, nowadays just flagships are supported. This is a shame for samsung that Galaxy Note 3 Neo Dous has not received even 1 Mb update. Samsung just produces and sells its phones without paying attention to customers. Shame on you Samsung!
n7502 the forgotten phone
been checkin for a couple of weeks now. and still no updates? wow. I think they just forgot they made our phones. anyways. what kind of tweaks have you guys made on your phones since theres no firmware updates for us.
Root → Xposed Framework → Wanam Xposed
Android 5
I'm not sure please help me.
The users of Galaxy Note 3 Neo Duos can now update their handsets to Android 5.0 Lollipop using custom ROM. The new Android 5.0 Lollipop comes with many new features
levelof.blogspot.com/2014/10/upgradeupdate-galaxy-note-3-neo-duos-to.html
Tutorial :
1. Download Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM from link below :
The ROM File size is 128 MB, so I split the file into 3 parts :
ROM Part 1 : goo.gl/7pyL97
ROM Part 2 : goo.gl/ffHU2x
ROM Part 3 : goo.gl/l1zKh5
To combine 3 parts files above into 1 file just use WINRAR, then extract the files into ZIP format.
If any problem with the ROM, maybe because the ROM have corrupted during the download process, you can try to re-download the ROM.
2. Install the ROM Manager on your Galaxy Note 3 Neo Duos. Get it from Google Play Store, then install the clockwork mod recovery. You also can use ROM Installer application from JRummy Apps Inc.(Get it from Google Play Store).
3. Connect your Galaxy Note 3 Neo Duos to your PC employing the USB information cable. Copy the ROM.zip file you downloaded to the SD memory card.
4. Restart your device in the recovery mode using ROM Manager. As soon as in Recovery Mode, go to ROM Manager and select backup/restore to back-up your information.
5. From the Recovery Menu do a total data erase (including Delvik Cache). When completed, go back to Recovery Principal Menu and choose Flash ROM from SD Card. Navigate the location you copied the ROM.zip file and follow the directions for installing Android 5.0 Lollipop on your Galaxy Note 3 Neo Duos. As soon as the installation is over, just reboot your Galaxy Note 3 Neo Duos device, and here you go, youve just upgraded it to the new Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Nice but is there any other link to the rom?
Can anyone plz upload a video

ROM for Samsung Galaxy SIII SM-G3812B

Hello, recently acquired this device, as it has the 4.2 version of android, decided to look for some more current ROM unfortunately not found, I saw that the other models of the Galaxy SIII have Custom ROM, then come here to ask developers to please, to create a Custom ROM, be it 4.4 or 5.0, many users need this help.
Anything yet
C'mon, I have this phone and I can't find any custom rom for it...:crying::crying::crying:
If you have the time, compile the ROM yourself, it is a time consuming process, but you achieve maximum peacefullness with your device. Look on YouTube or google how to do it.

How to improve performance on Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite S7390?

Hi everybody,
I bought the Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite S7390 like a year ago. It wasn't very fast back then, but now is even worse!
So I came here to ask how I could imrpove performance on my phone?
I already rooted my phone, I even flashed a new ROM, it was the first I found. I already installed Greenify, without Xposed Framework (because it says my phone could get bricked...).
So yeah that's what I've done so far, now I want to know if someone knows better ways (better ROM's,...) to improve the performance: Better ROM, apps, ... everything that could work on my phone.
If anyone knows something, please say so and add what it does, where to get it (link), the disadvantages, if you can't use it with any specific app and if you have tested it with the same phone.
Specifications of my phone:
Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite
Modelnumber: GT-S7390
Android KitKat 4.4.4 (ROM, stock was Jelly Bean)
CyanogenMod 11 (ROM)
Thanks all!
With better apps, ROM, etc. I mean better performance, without any (important) bugs.
