I have a Samsung Galaxy Light running KitKat 4.4.2. I rooted it, and accidentally messed up my stock Gallery app. I'm not sure how, but I think I deleted a file or folder that was named com.sec.android.gallery3d. Oops.
I have the original apk and odex files, but when I try to reinstall, I just get the error message "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped." I've set the permissions on both files to rw- r-- r-- and the files are in the original system/priv-app folder.
I am determined it get it working because now it's just an item of pride, and I want to be able to set my lockscreen wallpaper.
Can anybody help?

Modded, to be launching Gallery3D.apk (gallery from CM7 (com.cooliris.media)), if you click on thumbnail in camera or camcorder.

Just download CM7, extract Gallery3D.apk, download this BlurCamera.apk, copy both with Root explorer into /system/app, set permissions and reboot. Then you can delete the stock BlurGallery.apk, if you are not registered to MotoBlur.
You can try, if it works on 2.3.4 too, or skiny, or whatever, but backup the stock BlurCamera.apk.
What should the permissions be set to? Thanks
As any other app in /system/app rw-r--r--
Hi
Ever since I've upgraded to new Sammy JB, I cannot simply install any app by CWM zip or manually by copying the apk to /data/app or /system/app
If I copy the apk and restart it won't install. If I use root explorer and go to the apk location (i.e /data/app/) I see it has a generic android icon. If I click on it and select install, It the parse error.. However, if I copy or move this apk to anywhere on the sdcard, the original apk's icon will restore and i can now install it by clicking it... I tried changing permissions but it did not help... I tried full factory reset and installing another JB based rom (LS8 or LSD WanamLite or NeatROM) but I always get the same problem. Placing the apk on /preload/symlink/app did not work either...
Any ideas what could be the problem?
Thanks
