The stock Samsung music player won't work on AOSP roms as it needs parts of Samsung's Touchwiz framework to work. You realize there are like a million other music players out there besides stock Samsung and Apollo, right?

Today on DroidLife Blog, they released a hacked apk for videos, previously unable to be used on rooted devices.
I get a force close after opening, anyone else get it to work? And what ROM? I am on DocRamBones first Stock Touchwiz based on the official OTA.

FC on my Tab, running stock EU rom.
I have flashed cyanogen mod 9 on my sgs2. I love the rom. I know it's a weird question, but does anyone know where or how to install both samsung app store and samsung music hub? Are the apk's available from anywhere?
You can't on cm9, install the samsung ics rom if you want samsung apps.
Thank you for the info. Sacrificing those two things is well worth having cm9. I was thinking it was as simple as installing the apks - I assume it needs samsung framework to run
Hi All.
I've recently flashed JB 4.1.2 (Samsung stock) onto my Galaxy S II and rooted. This was an upgrade from Gingerbread 2.3.6.
The JB rom has AllSharePlay and AllShareControl both of which are awful. I would like to re-install the original AllShare either 1.2 or 2.0.0.
I have the apks for these (1.2 deodexed and 2.0.0 odexed I believe).
I have tried placing these in /system/app, setting apt permissions and rebooting, as I understand is required with system apps like this.
1.2 seems runnable but then FCs after a second or two.
2.0 does not seem to install.
I have also tried installing these from zips in recovery mode both of which fail.
I have also tried recovering the Allshare 2.0.0 from a Titanium Backup taken from the old Gingerbread system. Needless to say this was unsuccessful
Can anyone help with this issue?
Or can anyone point me to a deodexed version of AllShare 2.0.0
Please don't suggest other DLNA apps like BubbleUPnP, iMediaShare etc, these are not what I'm looking for.
Cheers in advance.
Allshare on jellybean ...?
Bump.
Any help.
Allshare on jellybean ...?
I'd like to do the same.
Have SII, upgraded to JB 4.1.2. Want Allshare, not AllShare Play.
Please help.
Allshare on jellybean ...?
Bumping again...This must've be doable? Surely some genius ROM kitchen has managed this already...?
Hi all. I honestly can't find an answer or any solution that has worked for me for this. I am trying to install the Samsung stock camera application onto my CyanogenMod ROM (4.2.2) but so far attempts to install manually or restore via Titanium Backup have not worked. I tried the modded Camera apks however they do not install and moving the apks manually to the system app folder still doesn't work. Has anyone got a solution to this? I really don't like the Cyanogen/AOSP camera app as it's quality is worse than the stock one.
Samsung "stock" apps require the touchwiz framework in order to function......this is something that is NOT and NEVER WILL BE included in CM ROMs.......
What you're asking just ain't ever gonna happen/work.......

Ah okay that explains it. Looks like I'm going back to Chameleon ROM then.
I think that's your only option....that or one of the other hybrid ROMs.....
The only downside to that being that as they are Sammy based, you're never going to get a KitKat hybrid.......

Yeah, but it's a downside I'm willing to put up with - just so my camera is the stock one (I like it since the images come out better). If I could find another hybrid ROM like Chameleon, except on Android 4.2.2 (like the last stock ROM) that would be great.
4.1.2 was the last stock update that the S2 had.....

I just downloaded and flashed the NCSRom v13 OA2 , based on the new firmware I9300XXUGOA2 for S III i9300.

I need the stock samsung music player for this new firmware.
The ROM creator hasn't included the music player in his rom.. nor has he provided the apk for it separately.
So can anyone please share a compatible version of the stock samsung music player that works with this new firmware version?
I tried to search from Google and downloaded a few versions, but i think that those versions I found were old, which is why they kept hanging up everytime just a few seconds after launching the music app.
Thanks alot for help.

Why not install Google Play Music ?
Ok I'll try that..
I was used to the interface of the stock music player, which is why I wanted that.
