Both the G3 and the G3 Vigor with Sprint stay paired to my Jeep's entry level 130 bluetooth U Connect system. However, the phone drops the connection and audio won't play at all or it will not route phone calls over the car's system. I tried basic trouble shooting, including wiping my U Connect's set up and also hard resetting the phone. But it is totally an LG issue. The HTC M8, Galaxy S5, Moto X, and iPhone 5 are all confirmed to pair normally and hold connection with no audio issues.
A basic Google search tells me I'm not nuts and others are having the same issue. Some blame the Optimus UI and others blame an old bluetooth stack LG uses. I work for a wireless retailer and I am trying to get as much information as I can to my LG field marketing specialist.
So any feedback or suggestions about this would help.
Nothing? Well, I guess I'll have to wait for the Lollipop update and cross my fingers.

Are you rooted and bumped? Have you tried a different ROM? Any luck? Sorry to hear of your troubles. Perhaps contact one of the ROM devs in a Q&A thread or via PM and see if a fix or workaround is possible.
Sent from my Stump'd & Bump'd Sprint LG G3

I got my HTC G2 (T-Mobile UK) today and so far I'm loving it.
I upgraded it to the latest official ROM for t-mobile which is 2.73.
So, I'm just wondering how I'd go about rooting it? I know there are guides which I'm happy to follow, but it seems to me that T-Mobile put something in their builds which is why we have to wait for new releases for so long.
So what do T-Mobile do to the ROMs? Is it possible for me to put a custom ROM on here? If so, do I lose anything? Do I lose any accessibility to T-Mobile stuff like Internet, MMS ect?
Also, something that's REALLY bugging me is the BT Discovery mode. You can only make it discoverable for 2 minutes. Yeah I've read that once paired with a device then all should be good, but that doesn't seem to be the case with my BT Handsfree CD Player in my car. Previous phones (Including the HTC HD2) allow me to just get into the car and drive away and the devices connect theirselves automatically. However, this is not the case for the G2 and I can only assume that this is due to the discovery mode being off.
So there are my newbie questions. I really don't want to brick my phone so I have to ask before I do anything.
Thanks for your time.
So I tried out the new Lollipop builds floating around the VZW Dev forum (I tried every single build) and I'm having issues connecting to my G Watch. I have, since, reverted back to 4.4.4 LiquidSmooth to get it working again. It seems that 5.0 can see the watch via Bluetooth and the watch can see the phone, but the Wear app will not connect the two together. I haven't seen anything about this so far, but it's not likely that many people installing these ROMs are looking for compatibility with their smartwatch. I wanted to put it out there that, at least for my VS985 G3 and my LG G Watch, 5.0 won't connect the two. If anyone has had any luck with making a connection on a 5.0 ROM, please do reply and tell me exactly what you're using and what you did, because I have been eager to get 5.0 since Material Design and ART runtime was announced.
I know we have (or had) an issue with bluetooth calling devices, but since the watch works 100% on LS KK, I'm not sure what the issue could be here.
I've gotta factory reset my 360 any time I jump to another ROM. Can't speak for the G watch but the Moto 360 works fine on 5.0 so I'd assume you can. If that's the only thing keeping you off of 5.0 it'd be worth giving a reset a shot.
Need to reset you watch
I agree with dustinb17. Any time you move the watch to a new device or new rom, you have to reset the watch. It kind of makes sense in a way. its storing body vitals and such and it doesn't know that the phone is changing and not the person.
I have a Sprint G3 on 5.01 Stock-rooted. I have tried to clear the cache in recovery and rebooting. This may have made the problem better, but I am still having the problem even after clearing the cache.
I just got a new AF62 Matrix headset for work, and this issue is highly annoying, any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Ah.... What is the problem?
The Bluetooth audio skips and stutters every once in awhile while. According to my research this is a very common problem across numerous devices. the LG G3 855 received a v20h update, which fixed it. Does anyone know if the V8 update for the 990 is similar to the v20h update? I would really love to have BT that just works.

Keep in mind, Bluetooth is a 2.4Ghz radio frequency. A LOT of other things run on that spectrum. Microwaves, cordless phones, most Wifi. Your body is actually a frequency inhibitor. If your phone is on your holster on your right side and the headset receiver is on your left side of your head, then the signal doesn't just simply staircase its way around your body. It partially gets blocked by your body. Then if you're moving (exercising that makes it even worse). Your connection will be susceptible to lots of interference at times. An occasional pop, skip, or stutter once in a while is almost inevitable and usually normal. Mine does that and I'm running Barrin V2 TE. If it is doing it constantly then you have a problem. Could be your headset too. Not sure if you paired it on another device previously and had no problems? But to answer your question about the firmware update for AT&T variant, I'm sure the update was similar if that was their Lollipop update.
As for the interference, I am using it in an office setting without 2.4 wifi or 2.4 phones. Likewise, when connected to my iPad, it does not skip or stutter. Furthermore, the stutter happens in my car, and on 2 different headsets. When I had my iPhone, I used BT all the time in my car, and never had these issues. It appears to be a software not an interference issue. As for the V20H update, this was an update after the Lollipop release, and appears to be different than what we received in ZV8. Also, BT should not have these problems, the interface has advanced to the point where this should not be a problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Well then I'm not sure what else u can do. How it comes from LG is what it is. So have you flashed to ZV8 yet? If not, do that then see how BT performance is. I'm streaming right now on zv8 and haven't had any stutters. I have LG Tone Pro
I have the same issue with my Samsung Note 4 from AT&T and also with my computer running Windows 7. I have a Mpow Cheetah Bluetooth headset that seems to be affected by this, it is even worse on my computer as the audio skips and jumps around while watching YouTube. It appears to be a Bluetooth issue that is affecting a large number of people.
Hi
Since updating to Nougat the quality of the bluetooth audio is terrible, it seems to fluctuate between all the time and can get very crackly and hissy.
Is anyone else experiencing anything like this - I updated using LG Bridge.
Thanks
Richard

All ok Here, using a Bluetooth Speaker
I've tried it with several speakers and several apps - I've also factory reset my phone but it's no different.

Don't what could be the problem, using the stock app with a Bluetooth Speaker in my case works the same as with marshmallow
I've emailed LG and got the attached reply - he mentions that there are problems with Android 7, but I think this might be a generic answer to blame android instead of themselves.

It can be True, after all it can be a specific problem with some Speakers, who knows.

Hi,
I also have problems with my Bluetooth (headset Bluejay X2) after the Nougat upgrade. Media works 2-5 minutes, then audio just stops... the device looks connected and the media player continues to play (silently then). I have done all trouble shooting tips I've found and eventually I also did a factory reset, still same problem. I also have an android wear connected (Sony Smartwatch 3)... actually, I will test to disconnect the phone and see if the audio works better then.
Thanks for contacting LG. I will try to do the same; I sincerely hope they will send out a fix soon, as there to my knowledge is no way to (easily) roll back to Marshmallow.

A short update; problem persists. I have tried to clear system cache and now also forced the bluetooth apps to stop. Here I come to a question...
When wanting to clear Bluetooth app, I discover that I have two different apps called "Bluetooth", only difference is that one has version 5.30.18 and one has version 7.0. Should it be like this? If not, is it possible to disable one of them?

Yes, I have both of these too and no problems. I use Bluetooth with wireless headphones from Bragi.

Ok, thanks... bummer, thought it might had to do something with the problem. It might have to do with the model of headphones (still a Nougat problem though), but I don't know; don't seem to have the same problem in the car, but I do not use BT audio very much there.
One thing I have noticed on my Jaybird X2's is: when this happens and I trigger "Ok Google" (long pressing the talk button), the audio starts working again (after I cancel the "Ok Google"). So... still confused, but on a higher level
I recently purchased a Bluetooth headset (Bludio T4) which evidently is not compatible with my VS990 Verizon LG V10. It pairs with a Nexus device, an iPhone, and my Windows 10 laptop. It just won't work with my V10.
I contacted their support, and they issued a refund saying that it was incompatible. I searched the reviews and found lots of other LG owners of the era having problems. (V10 and I think G5 and G6).
I'm tempted to try and throw on a Bluetooth apk from a V20 or V30 to see if that makes any difference. Am I crazy to think that might help?
Thanks.
BT Issues Too
Same issue. AT&T (LG-H900) and none of my Bluetooth devices work - keeps "skipping". Uconnect in my car, Bose in the house, any BT earphones - same issue. I've just started looking into this and came across your post. Hopefully someone can help is loading a newer APK will help solve the issues.
Nope

Thanks for the reply. I never tried a V20 APK, and never solved the problem. My V10 does pair to other things though, just not my Bluedio headphones. It sounds like you've got a different issue.
There were several things that I tried that didn't work for me, but might help you. Look around for instructions on restarting the V10 in Safe Mode, and then clearing your Bluetooth cache. You'll lose any existing BT pairings, but since none work, you probably won't mind.
There's also an option to clear the entire application cache for the phone. It's more drastic, and I lost a lot more settings than I anticipated. Avoid that one if you can.
Good luck.

Thank you. Your tip for clearing the Bluetooth cache worked (at least in my car anyway). Now to try other BT devices and see how they fair. Thanks again...
