Cloudy g3 Rom - Verizon LG G3

Not sure if anyone knows this or not but I just checked the main g3 forum and cloudy has a new release that's compatible with Verizon g3. Link to thread is below.

Nice find

Yea i found this earlier i didnt know where to post so i fugured someone else would. Its probably the best stock rom ive had the pleasure of using. All the updates lg includes and how fast it is and battery life is a hell of lot better than other stock roms.

Has this been confirmed to work on verizon

Idk...I'm confident enough to give it a go. Check out the thread...

It works in verizon! Im currently using it now!! You do have to change your data settings from global to cdma/lte/evdo though. I love the rom! Wicked fast smooth with all the new lg stuff and updated stuff. Enjoy people!

gave it a quick check and everything seemed to work except i was getting a force close on the stock messaging app. Other than that Aroma worked great just select Verizon in aroma n flash.

Cool! Updated build, something new to flash. Love it.

This works on Verizon just fine but u have to use hangouts for mms and i can't find verizon visual voicemail

Getting ready to flash it now, but I always use Chomp for my texting. We'll see how it goes.

I flashed this last night and also use chomp (best sms/mms app) and everything is perfect so far.
It is fast and smooth.
I had very little time with it last night and have been working since waking this morning so I have to play a little more when I have time later.
Please keep us updated on how it goes for you.

I flashed it yesterday. I found that all apps, including messaging, worked without any build prop changes. My only complaint is that i can't get bluetooth voice dialer working.

Got it all set up. Liking it, so far. It seems to be pretty snappy.

I downloaded this and flashed it last night a couple times nd kept getting com.android.phone popping up. Am I doing something wrong? How can I get around this or what can I do.
Thanks in advance

I'm not sure why people are getting the random phone issues. I don't have any issues with that at all. I haven't had to do any build prop edits or anything. The only issue I've come across is when pressing the wifi toggle in the notification panel the systemui crashes.

I have had zero problems, so far, and we just replaced our modem, so I had to toggle my wifi a couple few times.
I've also noticed, that debugging stays on now, when connected as media storage.

Angry [ROM] 08-26-2012 LIQUID-DESENSED36 *v1.1* JMOD Bluetooth Crash/bootloop

Didn't see anywhere in the thread if the bluetooth was or wasn't working. Just though I'd let you guys know that bluetooth crashes my Tbolt. I've tried it a few times, just turning it on crashes and when I try to view the bluetooth menu. And now I'm stuck in a bootloop. This is my first post and due to the sight rules I can't post on the actual thread, perhaps a mod can move this to it. Otherwise this has been great!
Try flashing the imoseyon kernal. This should fix your Bluetooth issues.

You're talking about this one, correct?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1086518
I see that it is a GB kernel and this is an ICS rom. I don't know if that makes a difference. Still pretty new at this, that's why I'm asking.
My apologies. No you cannot use this with ICS. Its early in the morning and thought I read the title to be about Jesters other ROM Jellyblur (GB ROM themed to look like ICS). There are no custom kernals yet for the Thunderbolts ICS until HTC drops the source. I will try to re-create this issue and I will get back with you unless someone gives a solution before me lol. Once again my apologies.
If you are in a bootloop you may have to re-wipe and re-install the ROM. It may have been a bad flash if BT was not working and caused a bootloop.
EDIT: although irrelevent for this ROM, the link you provided is an outdated custom kernal. The Dev has since then updated to 6.2.1

So the bluetooth doesnt work with this rom?
As far as I've tried, no. But like baronmxc said, it could be a bad flash. I'm gonna try when I get back from class in a couple hours.

Hi,
Well you are in luck I had the exact same problem today and finally found the fix. I was using the . 9 radio was working fine so thought its ok but since bluetooth was my only issue I flashed ( in hboot) the . 19 radio and now no bluetooth problem. Not only turn it on and off able to use it!
Phone has not rebooted once since I did this.
Hope this helps you out,
Bryan
Swannyman, I suggest you to try out what trapperjohn found before you wipe. I have also heard reports of the latest radio fixing these issues also.

Great!
I love it when a plan comes together.
I also notice alot more 4g speed.
That bootloop sucks.
I wonder if this radio came out when the leak was initially released.
Would explain why on gingerbread we didn't see a big change but obviously the minor change in it was for ics.
Thanks,

Since the problem got solved...figured I'd jump in with a couple issues that I'm having with this rom.
1* I go into settings and to my apps. When I click an app and it brings up the space used and other info...everything says computing and doesn't show a value. I'm trying to move my apps to the SD and it does nothing since they wont compute. Anybody with this issue...a fix?
2* When I get a SMS, the LED keeps blinking after the message is closed or replied to. It stops after a few minutes, but its annoying. I have GoSMS.

1. Wait and let it total all the apps before entering to move them. It may take a minute if you have a lot of apps.
2. That's a bug with gosms. I never could figure out a fix other than disabling the led notification.

I finally got them moved, but it would take 1-4 minutes a piece to move. And when I try to uninstall an app, it just says uninstalling and hangs on that screen.

Have you rebooted since installing the rom?
Usually a reboot and waiting 5 after boot corrects this problem.

[Q] Skyraider not starting right

Gads. I've waited 2 years to root my phone and the first ROM I flash toasts it. I downloaded the Skyraider Zeus 1.3 and everything looked fine. When it rebooted, though, I realized I'm not able to do anything.
I slide the lock to get into the phone and I'm greeted by a dialog about in-call volume. All I can do is hit the Silent button and it switches between that and bluetooth volume. I can't figure out how to get past it so I can actually do anything.
Ideas?
ETA: Now I'm really sick to my stomach. I decided to restore from backup. Neither one of the backups I made prior to flashing are working.
Error while restoring /data!
WTF? Now I'm dead in the water.
4pm Update: I figured I have a brick now so I wiped data/factory reset, wiped cache. Now I'm trying to re-install Skyraider. I'm not holding my breath.
You're not bricked.
Go back into recovery...
Wipe data/factory reset 3x, wipe cache, and then wipe dalvik cache.
Flash the ROM.
You should be good.

Thanks. I did that and it worked. I guess I have to reinstall everything.
Why would two different backups fail to restore? The first I did manually last night through Titanium. The second I did when I flashed through ROM Manager.
That's your problem using rom manager. Download 4ext in the play store and you wont have backup issues.

Will do. What a debacle it started out to be. I think I'm ok now. I got the ROM working and for some reason although I wasn't able to boot into recovery and restore I have been able to restore my apps and data through Titanium. I have to say buying the Pro license was worth not having to acknowledge each install.
One thing I noticed is that I used to be able to slide the task bar down and have two options. Initially it was set with notifications but I could select a tab to make quick selections like enable/disable the hotspot, etc. I'll have to figure out why I only see notifications now. Maybe that's just part of the ROM behavior.

That's strange that you don't see the quick settings tab.
Usually after flashing a ROM through recovery, I flash it an extra time so that I know it gets all the files through.
I know when I flashed Gingeritis 3D, I couldn't get the music player to stop force closing when I changed the music sound effects. The only way to fix these issues and a few others was to flash it a couple more times, without wiping anything at all. Dirty flashes (not wiping) could possibly fix any issues as long as you haven't changed any of the ROMs settings or set up anything.

Nusense is actually on my list. These are what I was initially looking at trying:
Liquid Smooth AOKP
SkyRaider Zeus 1.3
NuSense
I think I'm like most Tbolt users that are tired of waiting for ICS. I wasn't sure about Nusense because I was believing that Sense was the source of a lot of my problems. However, SkyRaider (even though it's neither ICS nor Sense-less) is running considerably better. My phone was next to useless. It might take 1-2 min just for the stupid thing to dial a # once it was selected. I'd tell people if I ever needed 911 I'd be dead before it even dialed. I also had a lot of problems with messaging and general performance. So maybe it was just a bloatware problem that was dragging me into the mud.
Now that I'm having a positive experience with SR I think I'm going to make NuSense my next one. It looks very promising. I appreciate the warning and help to steer me clear.

You should try Twisteds version of Liquid ICS AOSP . Only problem is Netflix and video can don't work. But other than that its a great rom --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33076925

Thanks. I'll give it a shot. I don't use Netflix much from the phone so that's not a deal breaker.
How is it with data? I flashed NuSense yesterday morning and flashed back to SkyRaider last night. I couldn't stay connected. The data drops were horrible. It was odd. I'd have the 3G/4G icon like I was connected but couldn't surf/email/etc. Then other times I'd lose the 3G/4G altogether. Sometimes resetting the mobile data would work and other times it would just laugh at me.
I guess I didn't give it much of a chance since it only lasted <12 hours but it was driving me nuts. Nothing like spending time with family and not being able to surf and escape.
Any liquid based ics rom is plagued with data drops.

Ugh. That's not good. SkyRaider has been rock solid on data. The only thing I've really run into is it seems flashing my apps with app2zip only works on some things. I end up having to re-flash Kindle, Lookout, and a few other apps once I'm up and running again.
I was really looking forward to ICS but not if data drops are the norm.

[Q] Post-flash, different roms, no 4G/LTE

Hi. I recently rooted and flashed my phone, but since doing so I've been able to get 4G/LTE to work for me. At first I thought it was just the initial rom i flashed, but every single one I've tried since has failed to work. I restored my backup of the the original rom (backed up immediately after post-root), but that has not worked either.
I should add that a couple of the roms I tried, upon initial setup for the first time ask me to wait a few minutes to activate mobile data. While the 3G signal works and appears, the waiting goes on indefinitely until i skip it. Data still works but 4G/LTE never happens for me.
Any advice? Thank you

II'm quite interested but I jacked up something along the way because I completely wiped my entire phone, it won't go past the HTC screen. Been messing with it for 4 hours, I'd love to get this on my phone but I'm at a loss. I'm trying to flash the release keys you posting in RUU and radio images and all that but I think I screwed my phone.
If you can get into recovery then you can sideload the rom. Ive done this with included recovery 2.6.3.3,I never posted the radio, just a twrp backup, but you have to get a rom on the phone to copy the backup into the twrp, backups folder.
Copy the rom to where your adb and fastboot are located connect phone via twrp run this command
adb push nameofrom.zip /sdcard/. exactly as shown here change nameofrom.zip to the name of the rom your trying to flash...this will put a rom on your internal storage and it then can be flashed via twrp

Just the kind of ROM I was looking for. I take it that there's some serious integration with particular AT&T parts of the ROM to make VVM work. I attempted to change the sku id to the international variant (to get rid of the browser bar from settings, get the intl signal icons, and have the ability to toggle between LTE/HSPA+), but messages kept crashing.
Anyways, thanks for the hard work. Runs smooth, and works as advertised

Most of the messaging apps are the same. With all the required files, you only need to change your CID to CWS__001 to get it to integrate into the messages.apk. Even on sprint, Developer, etc, if you change the CID, you will see a black box in the messaging app where the VVM usually resides. I had it working on Viper for a while, but an update messed it up & since I use G Voice, I really haven't had the need. I think it may heve been fixed in Viper though, since I seem to recall one of the recent updates mentioning it now working.

Not sure I know they have been working on it. They seem to have it right for vw. I would say flash it and see. Make sure you have a nandroid back up.

I have a issues with this rom...well this and cm11. I have a Verizon Max using it with Att Straight Talk sim. The problem with this and CM 11 is that neither of them has voice! I'm not sure what it is. All Sense roms work fine but CM 11 roms has no sound when when dialing out...it doesn't even connect. It just says dialing for 15 secs then hangs up. I've tried the latest TWRP and CWM and neither has any sound but they both have data. i don't know what the problem is...any ideas?

Have you tried switching to just use 3g? Before cm11 went official they where having problems with 4g. Under Mobil networks try using CDMA without lte.

Have you configured you APN properly? I'm on Sprint with ST and everything works fine for me after putting in APNs and setting preferred network mode to WCDMA Preferred in the hidden dialer menu accessible by dialing #*#*4636*#*#

Interesting... Yeah just try to change the preferred network mode and play around with the modes if WCDMA doesn't work

Hybrid Settings?
Hello, I actually posted this on the pac site but I wanted to know where can I find the settings to change to hybrid/tablet mode? Is that not included?

now it won't flash...i'm using TWRP 2.7.1.0 and I'm getting a error about "error executing updater binary in zip"
reboot
So I got my 1st real hiccup just a few minutes ago. phone was asleep call came in, I unplugged it went to answer it and it was rebooting. Other then that this has been a very good start to a ROM. Thanks to all you Devs who have been up at night and racking your brains on this. WiFi has not been as much of an issue for me on the VW variant. Looking forward for the next nightly. :good:

Unfortunately after kitkat Google dropped tablet mode, making it impossible to have tablet/hybrid mode seen on earlier versions of android.

This happens either if you have a bad download or you're not using the CM-ready TWRP.

If you're near a PC you can use with adb if your familiar with it if you could send me a kmsg right after it reboots that'd help a ton. The command would be
Code:
adb shell cat proc/last_kmsg > kmsg.txt
and send me the text file after verifying it worked. This has to be done after it boots up after the unexpected reboot, so be sure not to reboot your device again before doing this.
reboot
Ok, If it does it again I well pull that log for you. From the time it happend I have rebooted and wiped. Do you think its safe to use ART for runtime with Pac ROM?

Sweet changing that right now.

Well rebooted twice will not let me change to ART. Should I try and wipe then change? Something I have noticed when I reboot the status bar stays up. (When ROM is preparing for reboot).

I switched to ART right after flashing so I didn't have any apps beforehand, so I'd recommend wiping. As for status bar, don't know much abut that but I've observed that too I really don't know what to make of it I mean it's not really affecting anything haha
