[ROM][2014.09.29]Official 7D-503L B008 to B009 upgrade - Huawei MediaPad, T-Mobile SpringBoard

I just was offered an update to B009 for my 701D-503L. Still JellyBean!
Couldn't translate the changelog......
Can't do the upgrade because of root.
But!! I see that the full B009 ROM is available at EMUI
www.emui.com/plugin.php?id=hwdownload&mod=detail&mid=64
I will download it tomorrow and test it.

B009 ROM runs great. WiFi and cellular LTE/3G is solid. Have noticed improvement over B008 which was already quite acceptable.
Sent from my MediaPad X1 7.0 using Tapatalk

Just being stubborn, I had launched the online update multiple times yesterday evening: to no avail.
Full ROM was downloading overnight. This morning I inserted the SD card and powered up the X1.
Funny thing happened, my X1 tells me there is an update and procedes to download it.
Without problems! Confirm installation, and in less than five minutes total time my X1 was updated. No data loss, and root still active.
Wow!
So I grabbed my wife's X1, five minutes later this one also was updated OTA.
Wifi and GSM seem better, no loss of features; haven't discovered anything new......

European feedback on the .14 update

Well, .14 is finally here for European units; I've just installed it and will be trying to kill it over the next few days.
In order to identify whether this patch is a success or not, please post your own experiences in this thread - early indications are that some people are STILL experiencing random crashes with their devices. We need to collate those experiences here in order to apply pressure on Asus.
This thread is for the .14 WW patch, not the US patch. Please don't submit a response if you are using a unit that isn't running a WW build.
My specs, for those interested:
32gb Grey Transformer Prime
C10KAS1****
'WW' build.
Never been rooted.
Never upgraded to an American .11.1 / .12 / .13 patch
Polite notice: Please specify whether you have performed a data reset after upgrading to this patch, as some apps may still cause issues. We need to nail the OS first, then the apps.
UPDATE 20/02/2012 @ 8pm: 6 hours after patching, and I've just experienced my first lock-up and crash. I can confirm that this patch does not fix the lock-up crashes, but it does seem to reduce them significantly. That said, crashes are NOT acceptable for a £500 device,so it looks like I have no option but to RMA it - I'm certainly not interested in waiting another 3 weeks for a solution.
UPDATE 21/02/2012: Added a poll. Racked up about 3 crashes in the process. Initiated returns procedure, very sad.
UPDATE 21/02/2012 @ 1pm: Identified a possible link with Performance Mode and crashes. If you have a stable prime, please switch it to Performance Mode and post your experiences.
UPDATE 21/02/2012 @ 2.30pm: Confirmed - crashes occur on any power mode; Performance mode is NOT the issue.
after a factory reset and "force gpu rendering" the only issue is gone: random browser crash.

Try the tablet without this setting forced on - this setting made .11 more stable, and we ideally want to test this .14 patch without any 'tweaks'. I bet that a lot of people are still running without this option ticked anyway.
I've already exceeded my maximum consecutive runs of AnTuTu Benchmark - I'm up to 10 in a row now without a crash. Positive news so far!
..has anybody made a full or partial reset, or just installed overwriting the previous one?
I did a hard reset.
Installed the update. Reinstalled and set up all my apps and accounts.
First reboot occurred after 45 minutes.

I just used the OTA process - I checked for new updates and allowed the device to download and install it without much intervention on my part.
I have no reboots, lockups or any other issue than bad WiFi/BT when using them at the same time.
I am a bit worried of this OTA, as I read may experience issues they did not have previously.
Mine is BCOKAS1XXXXX, but it seems mostly issues are on C1 version..
C1 Prime here - no hard reset before or after .14 OTA.
Over 2 hrs of uptime so far incl. 2 AnTuTu benchmarks on Balanced and Performance modes.
Wi-Fi is noticeably improved.

I second this - I'm seeing a fully lit WiFi icon for the first time since I turned my Prime on.
The only thing I can report is that my AnTuTu benchmarks are consistently lower.
BEFORE
Balanced Mode - 10000-10500
Performance Mode - 11000+ consistently
A bit of an overlap, and not a massive difference between the two modes.
AFTER
Balanced Mode - 8000-9000
Performance Mode - 10000-11000
Much more of a margin between the two, still not smashed 11500 on performance yet, however. It rarely breaks 11000 since the patch.
Not seen a crash yet, which is good. I've lost track of how many AnTuTu benchmarks I've run now, my previous record was 5 consecutive tests without a crash. I'm well over 20 tests as it stands, so a marked improvement in my case at the minute.
My chickens are not being counted just yet however, and I'm very disappointed to see that some are STILL having issues. Not good enough ASUS.
My AnTuTu benchmarks have seen a slight drop-off too with .14:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvSa9vVvOedKdDd1UUNwMndKank1NUVUSThGOXVXRFE
:-( still no DE firmware here...
I regret I have bought it through Amazon DE.
Just loaded the update in Finland, will report back in some hours, went smoothly, hoked with the power cord and rebooted after update installed, so far so good...
Cheers
I had several random freeze and reboots after installing the update, had next to no issues prior to this. I have since deleted my dalvik-cache with root explorer and let it rebuild. So far so good since then. Will update later.

I cant install this update either same issue i live in Canada and have ww sku stuck on .11 whats giong on Asus.
I'm from Poland. My tab is C1OKAS. I updated my Prime 5 hours ago. From this time 0 random reboots. Before 5 to 10 reboots per day. Now everything is going smoother an a bit faster. Wifi was ok at .11. It is ok also at .14 I dont test gps. Youtube works perfect. Battery life is very good. I never done factoy reset or wipe before installing OTA updates. So far i am very happy about this update.
Update: During the night (8h) on .14 prime eats 8 % of battery. On .11 1-2%.
Yepp, nothing to see here for German Primes yet.

If you have modified anything in /system/app this is what happens. Revert your changes and the update will work. If you can't remember what you did then do the full update of .11 from ASUS' site followed by re-rooting, followed by voodoo root keeper, followed by OTA update, then re-root with voodoo.
I hope that all make sense.

Lenovo tab2 lollipop is awful

I picked up a tab 2 recently and I like it a lot. But I recently upgraded to their official lollipop and the results have been sub par. The WiFi keeps disconnecting. The performance seems slower. Is there any way I can flash the older official KitKat rom instead? If not is there another tablet someone would recommend because I'm thinking of returning this one based on the recent update alone.

I had this same problem, along with other issues. Although I watched the update download and install successfully, I decided to try a reload. I charged the tablet first, then connected it to a USB port to ensure trickle power kept it going, and performed a FULL factory restore. It restored the newest version (Update A10-70F to S000118_150710_ROW), and after 2 days of continuous use, I am happy to say that disconnects and other issues are solved. Except the battery recharge seems to take forever . . .
Although I did not save the update, I do have the 3 previous versions available.

Slow Rechaarge
Follow-up to earlier comment about slow recharge times.
I just checked all my cables with a meter. No problems there. Now to check the outputs of the factory and 3rd-party chargers:
1. MusicPower (Apple Store) "Quartet" charger:
Input 100/240vac 50/60Hz 0.3aMax (yes, that's zero point three), OUTPUT 500mA on each of the 4 individual ports.
2. Lenovo IdeaPad (factory) "HuntKey: charger (shipped with Lenovo S6000-F tablet, which looks almost identical to the Tab 2 A10-70 series):
Input 100/240vac 50/60Hz 0.2aMax (yes, that's zero point two), OUTPUT 5.0v, 0.2a
3. Lenovo C-P35 charger (shipped with TAB 2 A10-70F):
Input 100/240vac 50/60Hz 0.5aMax (yes, that's zero point five), OUTPUT 5.2v, 2.0a
An empirical test shows that using the correct charger has cut recharge time by about 60%.
Since many reports are about slow recharge with different devices, Your Mileage May Vary.
Hope this helps.
I also am using a Tab 2 A10-70 F and have a few issues with Lollipop that did not happen using KitKat. Most are minor but battery life is not as good and WiFi is slow to connect and the signal strength is not as strong.
I have not done a full factory restore but may try it soon to see if the issues will resolve.

For me no. But when I use samsung tab4 and tab2 its tragical diference on touch sesitivity. Samsung fork correctly, but tab2 so so bad.
Do you guys leave Wifi connected all the time ? My battery life was awfull (with android 4.4), like it wouldn't last one day, with using it less than one hour, and I found out that the main culprit was "WLAN". Since I installed the Doze application and everything went back to normal. I'm wondering if someone had this problem ? Maybe a factory reset could help ?

Lenovo Tab 2 A8-50F
I have a Lenovo Tab 2 A8-50F with Android 5.1, Build A8-50F_S000037_151023_ROW.
The most annoying thing is WiFi. Even with activated setting to keep it on with screen off, it takes up to 2 minutes after turning screen on to reconnect WiFi. It seems that every app with "network changing" event fires up, and after 1-2 minutes I am able to do what I wanted to do.
With the App "Wake Lock" I can prevent this behaviour sometimes.
I am sad about this, because this tablet is absolutely okay for me to read and work and play (okay, 2 GB instead of 1 GB RAM would be nicer).
Battery life is absolutely okay for me, even if "Wake Lock" keeps the tab "online". Actually there is no update for fixing this.

Those running Lollipop - what are your thoughts?

Now that there are a couple of versions of the 'official' Lollipop update floating around for the Z3v and people are using it, what's the verdict? What are your thoughts? Was it worth the wait? Is it running alright, better, or worse, than KK? Any problems or concerns?
It might help if you let us know which version you installed (.485 or .509), if you're rooted, and if you did a clean wipe and install or flashed over your previous version.

It does not. I don't think it works on either build, but I'm running version .485, FYI.
Multi-user / guest mode also has been deactivated and is missing.
Im actually enjoying the update, fun little things here and there. Im greatful to have the update everything works well.
I have the unrooted .485 build. To my knowledge almost everything is working perfectly. Battery life is the same if not better. I love Sony's take on material design. The only two things missing are multiple user accounts and the ability to do voice over data, but I do not think that will be turned on until Verizon officially releases the update. Since verizon hasn't released it yet, I'm positive they haven't "hit the switch" to turn it on for our devices.
I'm waiting for Verizon to push this to my phone but am a little concerned that pdanet/foxfi will stop working for me when it comes. Any thoughts on this? What are my risks of waiting on not rooting? Wi-Fi hotspots is critical for me.

I'm actually experiencing a dramatic DROP in battery charge longevity and haven't been able to find out what's doing it.
Other than that, the upgrade is "OK", but without the missing features that we're waiting on Verizon for, I'm not sure it was worth all the hassle.
I just look at it as good practice for when 2 have to go through all this crap again when they finally do release the good stuff.
Edit...
After having whittled down some of the background apps that I had done in K.K. (per Gigaspx's list), I am now experiencing much better battery life. Also, now that I have Xposed-lollipop-z3v working to tweak the interface, it's looking less foreign to me and more intuitive.
I had both versions installed and clearly prefer 509. I had WiFi issues with 485 and my phones was overheating while wireless charging. 509 fixed those issues and everything is working fine. Compared to 4.4.4 everything is faster and I rely like the new lollipop interface. I haven't done any testing but I think that the battery life also improved.
I'm on 509 and have seen a few odd things.
My GPS locked up the other day and would not update my location. I had to reboot to fix it. This has never happened to me on this phone before.
Hitting recent apps lags. It takes long enough to come up with the list of recent apps that I start to question whether or not I hit the button every single time.
Settings from Tasker profiles that have always worked without a hitch are not being respected. For example, the screen will continuously turn off after 5 or 10 seconds but when I check the settings for screen timeout it says 2 minutes. Re-applying the profile works as expected after.
Other than that I'm enjoying LP. I'll have to do some testing to see what I can fix.

so can we downgrade from lolipop to kitkat?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm starting to have a constant wakelock. No idea why and I cant fully charge with a wireless charger.
I have only had lollipop a couple of days now (flashed 509). So far I like it. Battery is about the same, never have had any lag, maybe lollipop is a little faster? Several things I like - BT seems more stable, lock screen controls are now more consistent, and the security features are better (I use a pin to lock my phone). I generally like the small changes to the interface.
Things I don't like. The volume controls is not intuitive (muting etc). Themes don't work as well either. Can't seem to get navigation buttons to change.

I had Bluetooth problems updating to non root 5.02 without doing a factory reset. I switched back to 4.4.4, rooted and then updated with dual recovery and have had no issues for the past two weeks. My sony smartband talk watch was having a lot of problems which prompted me to go back to a clean factory reset 4.4.4 and then root. I used kingroot and installed recovery before flashing the prerooted 5.02. I'm getting 5.5 hours sot and its very stable.

I tested my Z3V on 5.02 with my son's Galaxy S5 and it does work including HD Video.
I was having the notification tray freeze up the whole phone from time to time. Had to force reboot.
Anyone else? It only happens sometimes when pulling it down.

Should i upgrade?

Hello everyone! I'm about to receive this nice tablet from amazon and as a first thing I was wondering if I should upgrade it to Lollipop or Marshmallow once i have it in my hands. I've read many different opinions about this, so I'll try to focus on some software-related aspects I'm mostly interested in.
- I find Stamina mode really helpful. What is the last Android version that still has it? What about battery life in general?
- Can I move the apps to the microSD in Lollipop or Marshmallow?
- Any lags or bugs that may appear after the upgrade.
- Also, since I've read Marshmallow is kinda unstable for now, can I eventually upgrade to Lollipop and stop there?
All of this without flashing or rooting the tablet (sorry, I have no idea what that is but I don't wanna lose the warranty)
Thank you all
If u want a really stable tablet with the best battery and 0 bugs...flash KITKAT through FLASHTOOL and leave it there!I have it like this about 6 months now with over 80 apps and never factory reset..and it runs stable as the first day.
I've been quite happy with stock Marshmallow since it came out. I use the tablet every day and have it rooted and have expanded my usable system space with Apps2SD (a bit of a pain to set up, but runs well once it's on there).
I've only had a couple boots in the past few months with issues, where after booting up all the google services started crashing. A quick reboot and everything was fine again. Other than that everything seems perfectly stable and the battery life is awesome.

Mirrorshare stopped working

Just moved from a Nexus 6P to 10 Pro and I'm really impressed : battery life is awesome, regularly get nearly 2 days usage and that's with BT and WiFI turned on! I was lucky to get a couple of hours on the 6P in the end - I kid you not!
Anyway, when I first got the phone (end Nov17) I could use MirrorShare to with my LG TV however I've noticed that I am now unable to do that: it's not a massive issue but it's buggin me that it don't work anymore.
Also, as an FYI - after reading a thread on here, I've notice my phone is also having WiFi issues connecting to 5Ghz - it seems to connect instantly to 5Ghz, then switches.... odd - again, not a big issue at the moment but it is buggin me.
Other than that, just getting used to the quirks of EMUI as opposed to vanilla Android.

You don't have to wait for Huawei to push the update, you can use Firmware Finder for that. You can update to B127a (c432) using that app.

I think that someone reported some issue installing the B127 (c432) from 05/01/2018 so that's why i recommended B127a (c432) from 23/12/2017 (or something around that date).
